Bid on this bottle of 2004 Ridge Vineyards "Monte Bello" Santa Cruz Mountains Cabernet Sauvignon (93AG, 93ST, 91RP). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Ruby-red. Smoky cherry and cassis aromas are complicated by wilted rose, cured meat, licorice and sexy oak spices. Lush and creamy in texture, offering well-delineated red- and blackcurrant flavors, good dusty tannic grip, and a sweet, expansive finish. This is clearly one of Napa Valley’s iconic wineries, as well as one that, amazingly, never went through a bad patch. This is Clone 4 and Clone 6, as well as Clone 337, blended together from the Beckstoffer To Kalon Vineyard, aged in 100% new Darnajou barrels. For whatever reason, this wine seems to show more chocolate, espresso roast, barbecue smoke, dense blackberry and blueberry fruit and enormous body with not a touch of heaviness or astringency. This is a fabulous offering. It should drink well for 20-25 years. (RP)" (10/2014)

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2005 Sine Qua Non "17th Nail In My Cranium" Sta. Rita Hills Syrah (100RP, 98WS, 97ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2005 Syrah The 17th Nail In My Cranium, a blend of 96.5% Syrah and 3.5% Viognier which is aged 38 months prior to bottling. (I always wonder what Marcel Guigal would think of a wine like this which seems to tip its hat in the direction of Cote Rotie and then goes into high gear and clearly says, "I’m just something very different, but thanks for even thinking of that appellation while smelling and tasting me.") Black as a moonless night, the 2005 17th Nail reveals a stunning nose of spring flowers intermixed with creme de cassis, blackberries, charcoal, graphite, and hints of lard and barbecue spices. Dense, with an endless (and I mean endless) finish, remarkable purity, and layer upon layer of flavor, but no sense of heaviness or flabbiness, this prodigious Syrah should evolve for 15 or more years. Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2009 Saxum "James Berry Vineyard" Paso Robles Rhône Blend (98RP, 97JS, 97WS, 96ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Simply put, the 2009 James Berry Vineyard is one of the greatest young wines I have ever tasted from California, or anywhere for that matter. Bright, floral aromatics lead to expressive red fruit in this impossibly elegant, dazzling wine. A melange of rose petals, mint and licorice follows as the James Berry shows off its breathtaking clarity and finesse. Fine-grained, chalky tannins frame the exceptional finish. 1974 Joseph Phelps "Insignia" Napa Valley Proprietary Red
Bid on this bottle of 1974 Joseph Phelps "Insignia" Napa Valley Proprietary Red (99RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "My early notes stated that the wine was sumptuous, very rich and incredibly impressive, but needed to be drunk within its first decade of life. Well, in September, 2013, approaching 40 years of age, it is even better than it was 36 years ago. So much for crystal balling the potential of these wines. Of course, 1974 was an unusually warm year with a fabulous Indian Summer, and the results were very ripe, concentrated Cabernet Sauvignons that a few critics thought were over-the-top and too rich. How often we hear those same complaints, with the same phony indignation, today. When tasted in September, 2013, the 1974 Insignia exhibited a dark garnet color as well as an incredible, sweet, Pauillac-like nose of Christmas fruitcake, cedarwood, rich plum and red and black fruits, and a hint of underbrush. It possesses a noble freshness and sweetness and the fruit is holding b

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2009 Hundred Acre "Deep Time" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (OWC - 100RP, 94ST) in original wood. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon Deep Time is another perfect wine. Quintessential elegance, seductiveness and ripeness are all present in this full-bodied, gorgeously rich wine along with intense minerality and abundant, corpulent, cassis, mulberry and boysenberry fruit. It takes a wild ride on the palate with incredible intensity yet a surreal finesse and focus that belie the wine’s compelling concentration and intensity. I’ll cut off my notes now since so few people will ever get a chance to try this beauty, but if you do, it takes you deep into the essence of Cabernet Sauvignon as well as the complicated think tank of Woodbridge’s brain. 1998 Chateau Montelena "Estate" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 7-bottle lot of 1998 Chateau Montelena "Estate" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (93RP, 89ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 1998 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate (13,000 cases) will disprove all the naysayers about how bad the vintage was in the North Coast. It possesses an opaque ruby/purple color, a gorgeous perfume of loamy soil, new saddle leather, chocolate, and black cherry and black currant fruit, full body, and ripe tannin in the finish. As it sits in the glass, notes of cedar and spice box also emerge. Although more evolved than most Montelena Cabernets are at age 4, there is no doubting that it will still provide considerable pleasure at age 15 or 16. (RP)" (08/2002)

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2006 Sine Qua Non "A Shot in the Dark" Sta. Rita Hills Syrah (100RP, 98WS, 96ST, 95JS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A Shot in the Dark is composed of 96.5% Syrah and 3.5% Viognier from the 11 Confessions Vineyard in the cool Santa Rita Hills. Performing better from bottle than it did from barrel, this prodigious red exhibits incredibly velvety tannins, a seamless style, and no noticeable oak (which is remarkable given the fact it spent 32 months in barrel). Dense purple to the rim with an extraordinary perfume of blueberry pie, blackberries, soy, Asian spices, and hints of forest floor and charcoal, this is a complex, rich, seamless, well-balanced tour de force in winemaking. Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2008 Abreu "Madrona Ranch" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (97RP, 94WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2008 Madrona Ranch opens with an incredibly expressive bouquet. Espresso, mocha and licorice meld into dark red fruit and sweet exotic spices in this superb wine. The 2008 is an extraordinarily polished, refined wine for the vintage. Sweet spiced and floral notes reappear to round out the finish. The relatively high percentage of Cabernet Franc (37%) comes through in spades here. The blend is 55% Cabernet Sauvignon, 37% Cabernet Franc, 4% Petit Verdot and 4% Merlot. Anticipated maturity: 2018-2033. (AG)" (12/2011)

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The brilliant 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon boasts an inky/purple color as well as glorious aromas of spring flowers, lead pencil shavings, licorice and a multitude of wild mountain fruits, in particular black raspberry, blackberry and cassis reminiscent of a French Pauillac (although I always think of Spottswoode as the Chateau Margaux of Napa). With a flawless integration of tannin, wood and acidity, it comes across like a liquid version of haute couture from the house of Chanel. It should drink well young yet age for 25 years. The tannins are softer than I remember, but this is certainly one of the vintage’s most extraordinary wines. Full-bodied with a seamless integration of tannin, acidity, alcohol, and wood, it is exceptionally pure and full as well as impeccably balanced. The impression is one of elegance allied with substantial flavor authority. It can be drunk now or cellared for 25+ years." (12/2008)

High-pitched aromas of citrus zest, white flowers and quince, with deeper notes of toasty lees and honey adding power. Densely packed lemon curd and orchard fruit flavors are underscored by a zesty mineral quality and show impressive precision. The minerality dominates the long, chewy, finely etched finish, which leaves a sexy floral note behind. A wine of great stature and richness, it boasts an inky/ruby/purple color along with a stunning bouquet of loamy, dusty soil, lead pencil shavings, creme de cassis, kirsch liqueur, licorice and barrique smells. Full-bodied and opulent, with some tannin still to be shed, it is a classic, All-American style of northern California Cabernet Sauvignon that is ap

2011 Pahlmeyer Napa Valley Merlot
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2011 Pahlmeyer Napa Valley Merlot (94AG, 91WE). Antonio Galloni: "One of the most beautiful wines of the year, the 2011 Merlot is endowed with tremendous energy, much of it because of the high percentage of Cabernet Sauvignon and a reliance of fruit from mountain sites rather than the valley floor, which simply proves just how great this overlooked vintage is in the right spots. Graphite, smoke, tar, licorice and plum notes meld into the finish. This is a knockout wine from Pahlmeyer. The 2011 will drink well early but it has more than enough depth to drink well for a number of years. The blend is 76% Merlot, 22% Cabernet Franc and 2% Malbec. In 2011, the Merlot came from hillside parcels only. (AG)" (11/2013)

1996 Cardinale Napa County-Sonoma County Red Blend
Bid on this 5-bottle lot of 1996 Cardinale Napa County-Sonoma County Red Blend (94RP, 91ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 1996 Cardinale is a blend of 89% Cabernet Sauvignon and 11% Merlot, of which 62% came from Napa and 38% from Sonoma. Just under 3,000 cases were produced. It is also a top rank wine, and a star of the vintage. A saturated purple color is followed by licorice, cedar, fruit cake, and black currant aromas. Full-bodied, powerful, and concentrated, with low acidity but high tannin, this young, muscular classic should have fabulous aging potential. Anticipated maturity: 2003-2028." (01/2000)

1995 Chateau Montelena "Estate" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 1995 Chateau Montelena "Estate" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (94RP, 92WS, 91ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "At the winery, I rated the 1995 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate one point below what I gave it in the blind tasting. Nevertheless, my notes on both tastings are nearly identical. This is another winery where the 1995 may be as strong as the 1994. The color is an opaque purple. The wine is full-bodied and powerful, with classic notes of cassis intermixed with loamy soil scents, underbrush, and spice. There is massive body and elevated, but sweet tannin that is well-integrated with the wine's other components, a blockbuster mid-palate, and a finish that lasts for 30+ seconds. Anticipated maturity: 2000-2025. Modern-day society seems to always be in search of new stars, but this winery has been a super hero for great California Cabernet Sauvignon for nearly 25 years! 2003 Fisher "Coach Insignia" Napa Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2003 Fisher "Coach Insignia" Napa Cabernet Sauvignon (93CG, 93RP, 92WS, 91ST, 90WE). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2003 Cabernet Sauvignon Coach Insignia is a great example of an under-the-radar Cabernet Sauvignon that offers very good value. Moreover, it has another decade of drinkability ahead of it. Composed of 99% Cabernet Sauvignon and 1% Cabernet Franc from the Napa Valley holdings of Fred Fisher and family, this stunner offers a dense ruby/purple color along with a big, sweet bouquet of creme de cassis, licorice and a touch of lead pencil shavings. This velvety textured, opulent, full-bodied beauty (“Body by Fisher”) is luxurious, long and satisfying on both a hedonistic and intellectual level. I can’t think of a more recent Coach Insignia that performed this well. Perhaps they just need more time in the bottle. The 2003 is a sleeper of the vintage. (RP)" (06/2013)

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 1996 Joseph Phelps "Insignia" Napa Valley Proprietary Red (95RP, 93WS, 92ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Aged 22 months in 100% new French oak, this blend of 83% Cabernet Sauvignon and 17% Merlot reveals a powerful core of red and black fruits, dusty, loamy soil, lavender and a hint of toast. I would not describe it as elegant, but rather, it is a big, backstrapping, Cabernet Sauvignon-based wine that should continue to drink well for 15 or more years. (RP)" (11/2013)

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2009 Lewelling "Wight Vineyard" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (95RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon Wight Vineyard is a huge wine bursting with dark red fruit, flowers and sweet spices. The 2009 needs quite a bit of bottle age to shed its baby fat, but it is impressive, even at this early stage. Firm yet silky tannins frame the textured, generous finish. This seamless, highly expressive wine should drink well for at least a handful of years. Anticipated maturity: 2017-2029. (AG)" (12/2011)

1998 Philip Togni Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 1998 Philip Togni Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (90RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "As I have noted in the past, Togni holds back 100 cases of each vintage to be released at age ten. Although 1998 was a challenging vintage in California, this 1998 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate has evolved into a beautiful wine. If you want to throw a California Cabernet into a blind tasting of first and second-growth Bordeaux, this is the wine to choose. A dead-ringer for a top-class Pauillac, it offers leafy, cedary, licorice, red and black currant, and roasted herb aromas. In the mouth, the Bordeaux-like austerity continues with noticeable tannin as well as a slightly dry finish. (RP)" (12/2008)

2010 Saxum "James Berry Vineyard" Paso Robles Rhône Blend
Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2010 Saxum "James Berry Vineyard" Paso Robles Rhône Blend (97RP, 94ST, 94WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Sporting a vibrant ruby, semi-opaque color, the 2010 James Berry Vineyard is the most tight, backward version of this cuvee that I can recall. A blend of 52% Grenache, 26% Mourvedre, and 22% Syrah, it has a decidedly savory bouquet of blackberry liqueur, kirsch, violets, bouquet garni, ground pepper, and graphite. Full-bodied and layered on the palate, with brilliant mid-palate concentration, superb freshness, and masses of tannin, this brilliant Rhone blend from Paso Robles will stand toe-to-toe with the best wines out there, but it is not for those seeking instant gratification and will require 4-5 years of bottle age. In 2010, the Grenache component was aged in a combination of concrete tank and oak puncheons, and this shows in both the aromatics and texture, with less obvious sweetness and more freshness. It will evolve gracefully for two decades

Bid on this 10-bottle lot of 2003 Kistler "Dutton Ranch" Russian River Valley Chardonnay ((92-94RP), 92ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Why is it that I always find buttery popcorn, tropical fruit, creme caramel, and almost roasted hazelnuts in the Chardonnays from the Dutton Ranch? The 2003 Chardonnay Dutton Ranch has that and a lot more fruit than is typical. Perhaps the low yields from a vineyard that is known for relatively abundant crops have produced a bit more intensity than usual. This is in-your-face Chardonnay that is not the most subtle wine by any means but Meursault premier cru-like, ripe and heady. (RP)" (02/2005)

2007 Sine Qua Non "Body & Soul" Roussanne-Viognier
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2007 Sine Qua Non "Body & Soul" Roussanne-Viognier (96RP, 94ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The new cuvee of white wine, the 2007 Body and Soul, a 475-case blend of 71% Roussanne and 29% Viognier, is primarily from the 11 Confessions Vineyard. Krankl has dropped Chardonnay from the blend, and the resulting wine is a beacon for what can be achieved by blending two white Rhone varietals. About one-third new French oak is used. Honeysuckle, orange blossom, lemon oil, tropical fruit, and floral notes are found in this unctuously-textured white. Full-bodied and dry, with good underlying minerality, crispness, and an alluring freshness, it is impossible to know how such a wine will age. I just finished my last bottle of the 2001 Albino, which is aging fabulously well, and seems capable of lasting another 4-5 years. These wines are so spectacularly perfumed and intense in their youth that they are hard to resist. (RP)" (08/2009)

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2010 Hundred Acre "Few and Far Between" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (OWC - 100RP, (93-95AG), 95ST, 94WS) in original wood. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon Few and Far Between has a minerality that is also found in the Howell Mountain cuvee as well as deep, luxurious, beautiful black currant and blackberry fruit intermixed with hints of jammy black cherries, licorice, camphor and charcoal embers. Exceptionally full-bodied with sweet tannin, surreal richness and remarkable purity as well as delineation, this pushes ripeness and intensity to nearly over-the-top levels, but it pulls back to simply create a wine of genius. This 2010 should age effortlessly for two to three decades, but there is no reason to delay your enjoyment. (RP)" (10/2013)

Layers of fruit blossom in the glass as this fleshy seductive wine continues to open up. Rich and multi-dimensional, the 2009 impresses for the way it covers every inch of the palate. This is a drop-dead gorgeous wine from David Abreu and Brad Grimes. The 2009 is 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 35% Cabernet Franc, 10% Petit Verdot and 5% Merlot. (Antonio Galloni)" (12/2012)

Bid on this 5-bottle lot of 2006 Blankiet "Paradise Hills Vineyard" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (95RP, 95ST, 93JS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The real star is the nearly 1,000 case-lot of the Paradise Hills Vineyard Proprietary Red. The dense, opaque plum/purple-hued 2006 Paradise Hills Vineyard exhibits a beautiful, sweet bouquet of melted chocolate, burning embers, blackberries, mocha, espresso roast, cassis, and cherries as well as stunning concentration, and formidable, but velvety, beautifully integrated tannins. This wine comes across like a hypothetical blend of California, a great Graves, and something from further north in Bordeaux, such as a Pauillac. Full-bodied and powerful, it requires 2-4 years of cellaring, and should evolve for 20-25+ years. (95+ points)" (12/2009)

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 462-case 2004 Pinot Noir Covert Fingers is seamless and elegant, with a ripe, layered profile of sweet cassis, forest floor, licorice and ground herbs. Coming all from the cooler climate Arita Hills Vineyard in the Sta. Rita Hills and completely destemmed, aged in 70% new French oak (the rest in 1-3-year-old barrels), never racked, and bottled unfined and unfiltered, it’s a full-bodied, beautiful effort that’s drinking at point.
