2005 Kistler "Vine Hill" Russian River Valley Chardonnay
Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2005 Kistler "Vine Hill" Russian River Valley Chardonnay ((94-96RP), 93WS, 92ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A crisp, elegant yet powerful, mineral-dominated effort, the 2005 Chardonnay Vine Hill Vineyard is reticent at present, exhibiting scents of lemon oil, white currants, peaches, and orange rind. With striking intensity, great elegance, richness, precision, and delineation, this beautiful Chardonnay brought to mind a top-notch French Corton-Charlemagne. (RP)" (12/2006)

2003 Quilceda Creek Washington Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this bottle of 2003 Quilceda Creek Washington Cabernet Sauvignon (100RP, 97WE, 95ST, 95WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Another wine I’ve had multiple times recently, the 2003 Cabernet Sauvignon (97% Cabernet Sauvignon and 3% Merlot) is pure perfection in a glass and yields off-the-hook aromatics of cassis, black raspberries, tobacco leaf, pepper and licorice. Deep, layered and even elegant, with a seamless texture that conceals the sheer wealth of material present, it builds through the mid-palate, possesses huge amounts of extract and masses of polished tannin on the finish. Despite the overall size, it never loses its Cabernet Sauvignon soul and has an almost Bordeaux-like savoriness and tannic frame. Still young (yet gorgeous none the less), it can be enjoyed now or cellared for another 10-15+ years. Drink now-2028. (JD)" (06/2013)

2010 Rhys San Mateo County Pinot Noir
Bid on this 5-bottle lot of 2010 Rhys San Mateo County Pinot Noir (94RP, 92WS, 91ST, 90BH). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The entry-level 2010 Pinot Noir (San Mateo County) is simply fabulous. Rich dark cherries, crushed flowers, mint and spices burst from the glass. This is a hugely delicious wine from Rhys. The 80% whole clusters are nicely balanced by the sheer depth of the fruit. This is a flat-out stunning wine from Rhys. In 2010, the San Mateo is the entry-level Pinot. The 2010 is bottled under San Mateo appellation, as it includes declassified fruit from a broader range of vineyards than the typical collection of sites from the Santa Cruz Mountains. Once again, an appellation-level Rhys Pinot shines. The 2010 San Mateo is without question the hidden gem in this lineup. I imagine it will also provide much more enjoyment earlier than the vineyard designates. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2020. (AG)" (08/2012)

2000 Peter Michael "Mon Plaisir" Knight's Valley Chardonnay
Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2000 Peter Michael "Mon Plaisir" Knight's Valley Chardonnay (91ST). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Slightly hazy. Subtle aromas of peach, flowers, grapefruit and soft citrus fruits. Rich, chewy and deep, with lemon and mineral flavors complicated and sweetened by hints of exotic fruits (but the tropical side of Gauer Ranch has been toned down in 2000, notes manager Bill Vyenielo). Firm acids and the wine's minerality give it a brisk, dry finish." (06/2002)

1964 Mouton-Rothschild, Pauillac
Bid on this bottle of 1964 Mouton-Rothschild, Pauillac. The label for this vintage features the artwork of Henry Moore. Mouton-Rothschild, always in the forefront of the greatest wines of Bordeaux, was the first estate to begin complete chateau-bottling of the harvest -- a historic step initiated in 1924 by the late Philippe de Rothschild. It is the only chateau in the Classification of 1855 to achieve reclassification. In 1973, it was finally moved from a second growth to a first.

Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2010 Biondi-Santi (Tenuta Greppo) Rosso di Montalcino (91RP, 89AG). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2010 Rosso di Montalcino opens to a brilliant ruby color and tightly focused aromas of forest berry, white almond, cola, bramble and anisette. It exhibits a stunning sense of lightness and buoyancy. Of course, that characteristic note of acidic freshness and menthol makes for a resounding finish and is testament of the enormous quality of fruit in 2010. Drink: 2014-2022. " (02/2014)

Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2008 Domaine Henri Boillot Beaune 1er Cru "Clos du Roi" ((90-93ST), 89RP). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Bright ruby-red. Aromas and flavors of black raspberry and smoked meat. Even sweeter than the Lavieres, but with more mineral lift giving the middle palate a lovely delicacy and accentuating the impression of perfume. A superb Beaune wine with excellent flavor intensity and length. The tannins are quite fine. " (03/2010)

Allen Meadows - Burghound: " A naturally spicy, fresh and elegant nose of dark pinot fruit and violets merges into exceptionally pure medium-bodied flavors that possess first rate detail on the clean and harmonious finish. This is a wine of seamless harmony, indeed this is Zen-like in its delivery." (04/2008)

Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2009 Domaine Jacques Prieur Beaune 1er Cru "Champs Pimont" (90-92BH, 90ST). Allen Meadows - Burghound: "Here too there is some wood in evidence but not enough to materially detract from the purity of the acacia blossom, lemon peel and poached pear aromas that are followed by round yet well-detailed and energetic medium weight flavors that possess good mid-palate fat and plenty of underlying tension on the dry and again, saline-suffused finish. Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2006 Il Poggione "Vigna Paganelli" Brunello di Montalcino Riserva (OWC - 97RP, 96WE, 94ST, 92WS) in original wood. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2006 Brunello di Montalcino Riserva Vigna Paganelli is huge, powerful and totally implosive. The seductive allure of the 2007 is nowhere to be found. Instead, the 2006 is built on a serious spine of formidable tannin and dark red/black fruit. Hints of tar, licorice, rose petals and tobacco inform the powerful, virile finish. The 2006 is going to require considerable patience, but it is clearly a jewel of a wine, even at this early stage. Anticipated maturity: 2016-2046.(AG)" (04/2012)

Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2006 E. Guigal Hermitage (92ST, 92WS, 90WE). Wine Spectator: "This has ample cocoa, plum and coffee flavors mixed together, laced with dark spice and charcoal notes. A sanguine edge flitters through the finish, along with hints of sandalwood and singed cedar, lending a rustic hint. Not quite as refined as the top examples, but still very solid. Best from 2013 through 2023. 4,165 cases made." (09/2012)

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2004 Cayuse "Camaspelo" Walla Walla Valley Bordeaux Blend (94WE, 92RP). Wine Enthusiast: "This Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cab Franc blend is drinking very well at three plus years of age, with plenty of sweet fruit wrapped around the herbs. Bay leaf, complex herbs, and a mix of fruits that runs from spicy cranberry to red apple, cherry, plum and on into semi-tropical with hints of papaya. This is remarkable for its multi-faceted flavors and almost indescribable complexity. The nose shows the earthy compost, while the fruit shines in the mouth." (11/2008)

Bid on this bottle of 2007 Joseph Phelps "Insignia" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (99RP, 96CG, 96WS, 95JS, 94ST, 94WE). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Aged 24 months in new French oak, this infant 2007 exhibits an inky/purple color along with notes of graphite, spring flowers and smoky oak. This full-bodied, classic Insignia reveals fabulous depth, ripeness, texture, viscosity and richness. Still young and unformed, it should evolve for 25 or more years. Perhaps I should just go ahead and give this 2007 a three-digit score as it is a profoundly great Cabernet Sauvignon-based effort. The production was 13,500 cases of this 100% estate fruit blend of 88% Cabernet Sauvignon, 8% Merlot and 4% Petit Verdot. The alcohol came in at 14.5%. The growing season was nearly ideal, with early bud break, generous flowering, a bountiful crop size, and summer weather that was warm and dry with no significant heat spikes. 2002 Torbreck "Factor" Shiraz Barossa Valley South Australia
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2002 Torbreck "Factor" Shiraz Barossa Valley South Australia (99RP, 96JH, 93ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Remarkably, the 2002 The Factor may be even more awesome than the 2001. It boasts a blackberry liqueur-like intensity with chocolatey richness intermixed with blackberries, raspberries, and cherries. The unctuous texture, refreshing acidity, and sweet tannin frame-up this magnificent wine. It should drink well for 15+ years. Interestingly, the 2002 The Factor did not have the Cote Rotie-like roasted element found in the 2001, no doubt because 2002 was a much cooler growing year than the record heat experienced in 2001. Bid on this magnum of 2007 Pisoni "Estate" Santa Lucia Highlands Pinot Noir (1.5L) (OWC - 96RP, 90ST) in original wood. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "An exceptional effort from 10-year-old vines, this dense ruby/purple-hued, full-bodied Pinot Noir exhibits a killer aromatic display of black raspberries, forest floor, spring flowers, cola, and a subtle hint of smoke. Although extravagantly rich, it is not overweight, but rather well-delineated and pure. This is a full-bodied tour de force in Pinot Noir winemaking that has the aromatic complexity of a grand cru Burgundy, but the sensational fruit, glycerin, texture, and mouthfeel of the golden state of California. Wine Enthusiast: "Profoundly beautiful aroma on this Cab, a perfect union of oaky char and vanilla with ripe blackberries and cassis. Hard to exaggerate the beauty. Powerful, yet never pushy, with classic Napa balance. Rich, sweet, almost meaty, with massive tannins that are refined and smooth. Very great density and weight. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A sweet, fruity, medium bodied, surprisingly forward effort, the deep plum/purple colored 2002 Gruaud Larose exhibits ripe aromas revealing herbaceous as well as spice notes. There is some potentially worrisome astringent tannin in the finish, but the wine's depth augers well for this begin ultimately resolved and integrated. (RP)" (10/2003)

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2002 Pichon-Lalande, Pauillac (94RP, (91-94ST), 91WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "One of the best wines of the vintage, this is a classic Pauillac that is a blend of 51% Cabernet Sauvignon, 34% Merlot, 9% Cabernet Franc, and 6% Petit Verdot. Dense ruby/purple in color with a glorious nose of melted licorice, lavender, barbecue smoke, black currants, and graphite, the wine is tannic, classically structured with an opaque ruby/purple color, beautiful definition, and a 1996-ish personality. This deep, full-bodied, elegant yet powerful 2002 should age handsomely for over two decades. Some patience will be required since this vintage exhibits more muscle and virility than normal. Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2002 Blankiet "Paradise Hills Vineyard" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (98RP, 96ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "This beautiful hillside vineyard is situated behind the Dominus Estate in Yountville. The 2002 Cabernet Sauvignon Paradise Hills Vineyard (100% Cabernet Sauvignon) has turned out even better than I predicted seven years ago. Made by Helen Turley when she was the consultant at Blankiet from tightly spaced, steep hillside vineyards planted by her husband, John Wetlaufer, it exhibits a beautiful nose of flowers, high quality unsmoked cigar tobacco, creme de cassis, chocolate, espresso and blueberries. Extraordinarily young, fresh and fabulously concentrated, this wine still impresses with its intensity, complexity and youthfulness. Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 1995 & 2000 Dessert Wine, including 1-bottle of 1995 Far Niente "Dolce" Napa Valley Dessert Wine (90WS) and 1-bottle of 2000 Klein Constantia Vin d'Constance 500ml (93W&S, 90WS). Of the 2000 Klein Constantia Vin d'Constance 500ml,Wine & Spirits writes: "A classic dessert style, reinvented by Klein Constantia in the 1980s, Vin de Constance is a golden, lusciously sweet wine that can withstand the kind of heat and oxidation that could challenge a lesser wine in a long sea journey from the Cape. This modern version is neither maderized nor oxidized. Instead, it's fresh and voluptuous, with complex aromas that meld beeswax, papaya, pear and bay laurel into smokier notes. There's a cool, saline-mineral tension that keeps it firm and brisk, even with all the sweetness. Though this will last for months after it's been opened, it will go quickly at dinner with seared foie gras and quince paste." (02/2007)

2007 Carter "Beckstoffer To-Kalon Vineyard" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2007 Carter "Beckstoffer To-Kalon Vineyard" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (96WE, 94RP, 93ST, 93W&S, 92WS). Wine Enthusiast: "This is an extraordinarily rich and rewarding Cabernet to drink now. Drenched in all new French oak, it’s elaborate in spicy, charred wood and vanillins, but the underlying wine easily supports that weight. It’s flamboyant in blackberries, cherries, chocolate, red licorice and cola. The alcohol seems high, but that’s in the modern style, and there’s no denying the sheer lusciousness." (07/2010)

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2004 Cabernet Sauvignon Diamond Mountain, which comes from the Wallis vineyard, shows terrific fruit intensity, oodles of creme de cassis, incense, a touch of white chocolate and coffee bean, cinnamon and clove-like spices, sensational blackberry and black currant fruit with some licorice and subtle background smoky oak. This beauty has wonderfully integrated sweet tannin and its opulence and lushness suggest drinking over the next 10-15 years. (RP)" (04/2014)

Of the 2004 Domaine Yves Boyer-Martenot Meursault 1er Cru "Charmes",Allen Meadows - Burghound writes: "A slightly curious nose that still has hints of lactic fermentation mixes with subtly toasty notes and rich, generous, fleshy and full flavors that are solidly concentrated and more mineral-driven than usual on the intense and bone dry finish. Of the 1991 Beringer "Private Reserve" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon,Robert Parker's Wine Advocate writes: "The second largest production of Beringer's Private Reserve, the 1991 came in just behind the 24,000 cases of the 1997. Interestingly, these are among the greatest Private Reserves made, and as Ed Sbragia told me, it was just one of those perfect vintages. One of the longest and coolest growing seasons in the history of California, it was marked by cool temperatures throughout the summer and a perfect Indian Summer. The hang time of the grapes, ranging from the date of flowering to the date of harvest, was historically long (I do not believe it has been equaled since). " (06/2011)

2008 Saxum "James Berry Vineyard" Paso Robles Rhône Blend
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2008 Saxum "James Berry Vineyard" Paso Robles Rhône Blend (98RP, 97WS, 95ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2008 James Berry Vineyard (52% Grenache, 31% Mourvedre, and 17% Syrah) saw some of its Grenache aged in the concrete eggs that are now catching on among some of the top producers on California’s Central Coast. With strong minerality from the limestone soil, this exuberant, fleshy, full-bodied wine is already drinking well. (I believe it was actually bottled just a day or two before my visit, which makes its performance that much more remarkable.) Dense purple, with sweet notes of barbecue smoke and meats as well as roasted herbs, extravagant black cherry, black currant, and blackberry fruit are all present in this wine, but there is plenty of underlying structure that comes from both the minerality and the Mourvedre component. Pure, full-bodied, but again, impressively elegant and nuanced, this is a tour de force and another prodigious example of

Bid on this bottle of 1989 Lafite-Rothschild, Pauillac (97JS, 93WS, 90RP). James Suckling: "I have never been a huge fan of this Lafite but it seems to be coming into its own now. It's a wine with a character of cloves and berries with hints plums. It shows loads of potpourri. Roses too. Full and so balanced. Tight and youthful. The winemaker at Lafite says that when he wants to show someone a perfect example of Pauillac this is the Lafite he pours. Maybe he is right? " (12/2013)

2012 Sine Qua Non Pearl Clutcher Chardonnay
Bid on this bottle of 2012 Sine Qua Non Pearl Clutcher Chardonnay (97RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The just bottled 2012 Chardonnay Pearl Clutcher is off the charts and up there with some of Manfred’s top whites. Coming from incredibly low yields and made from 100% Bien Nacido Chardonnay (from a variety of clones, and the first time this estate has released a 100% Chardonnay), it was aged 19 months in 92% new French oak barrels. It offers a kaleidoscope of aromas and flavors, with notions of ripe orchard and caramelized fruits, lemon curd, fresh baked bread and hints of toast soaring from the glass. Deep, concentrated and decadent, it has full-bodied richness, fabulous concentration and a massive texture that never seems heavy or cumbersome. (JD)" (08/2014)

Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2007 Domaine Robert Groffier Chambertin Grand Cru Clos de Beze ((90-93BH), 92ST).
