Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A profound effort from the dynamic Kistler-Bixler duo is the 2002 Chardonnay Kistler Vineyard. Spectacular ripeness along with a liquid minerality give this large-scaled, bigger than life Chardonnay tremendous balance/equilibrium. This compelling, full-bodied, dense wine offers smoky hazelnut characteristics intermixed with oranges, lemons, tropical fruits, and hints of Grand Marnier as well as caramel. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Readers looking for a Zinfandel made in the style of Henri Bonneau's famed Chateauneuf du Pape Reserve des Celestins should check out Ridge's 1999 Zinfandel Nervo Late Picked (ATP). A blend of 92% Zinfandel and 8% Petite Sirah, with only .2% residual sugar, this dry wine is made in an enormously concentrated, full-bodied style. Of the 2009 Rhys "Alpine Vineyard" Santa Cruz Mountains Pinot Noir,Robert Parker's Wine Advocate writes: "The 2009 Pinot Noir Alpine Vineyard tends towards a dark red, almost black expression of wild cherries. It is an intensely coiled, powerful wine in need of a few years of cellaring. The mineral notes speak very clearly in this pointed, beautifully articulated Pinot. With time in the glass the wine’s inner perfume begins to emerge, but the best is years away. The chiseled, pure finish leaves a lasting impression. This is the most finely-knit, complete wine in the Rhys portfolio." (08/2012)

2005 Quilceda Creek "Galitzine Vineyard" Red Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2005 Quilceda Creek "Galitzine Vineyard" Red Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon (97RP, 93ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2005 Cabernet Sauvignon Galitzine Vineyard comes from the fifth leaf of this estate vineyard and in this vintage contains 4.5% Merlot. The wine was aged for 22 months in 100% new French oak. Opaque purple-colored, its distinctive aromatics leap from the glass. Toasty oak, scorched earth, a hint of truffle, black cherry, black raspberry, and blackberry liqueur aromas are quite mesmerizing. On the palate, this sizable effort is firm, full-bodied, and structured, demanding 6-8 years of cellaring... It should be hitting its stride by 2015 and remain at that level through 2035. (JM)"

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2011 Dalla Valle Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (95AG, 92ST, 91WS). Antonio Galloni: "The 2011 Cabernet Sauvignon has really come together over the last six months. Deep, layered and resonant, the 2011 is easily among the top wines of the year. New leather, spices, mocha and plum notes flesh out in the glass. The style is quite textured, especially in comparison with the other great wines of the year. Hints of sage, rosemary, new leather and cloves wrap around a pointed, beautifully articulated finish supported by insistent veins of salinity. (AG)" (11/2013)

Notes of unsmoked cigar tobacco, forest floor, pen ink mulberries, blackberries and spring flowers soar from this inky/purple-colored 2012. The wine possesses great intensity, remarkable unctuosity and thickness, and perfect integration of acidity, alcohol, tannin and wood. Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2009 Alban "Seymour’s Vineyard" Edna Valley Syrah (96RP, 95AG). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "More angular and edgy, yet still more approachable than normal for this cuvee, the 2009 Syrah Seymour’s Vineyard has serious amounts of mineral-tinged dark fruits, licorice, smoked herbs and chocolate as well a firm, structured, full-bodied profile on the palate. This wine’s big bones, ripe tannin and bright acidity all point to a long life. Give it 3-4 years in the cellar and enjoy though 2024+. (JD)" (08/2013)

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2010 Cayuse "Armada Vineyard" Walla Walla Valley Syrah (97RP, 97WE, 95ST, 93WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Christophe’s Armada Vineyard Syrah has slowly become one of my favorite releases and the 2010 Syrah Armada Vineyard does nothing to dampen my growing enthusiasm for the vineyard. From a high-density planting in 2001 that lies just behind the winemaking facility (or 'studio' if you’re talking with Christophe), it offers up a brilliant bouquet of sweet kirsch and plum liqueur intermixed with notions of bacon fat, wild herbs, ground pepper and liquid rock. Evolving beautifully with air and incredibly complex aromatically, it is full-bodied, voluptuously textured and delivers serious levels of fruit and richness without ever seeming the least bit heavy or cumbersome. Count me a fan and this knockout Syrah will stand toe-to-toe with the best in the world. Give bottles another 2-3 years of bottle age and enjoy over the following 12-15 years. Drink 2015-

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The elegant, dense ruby/purple-tinged 2008 Problem Child (70% Zinfandel, 17% Syrah, and the rest Mourvedre) is an elegant, almost Burgundian take on Rhone Ranger winemaking. In a graceful, more restrained style, with delicious flavors of forest floor, briary fruit, and blacker cherries and earth, the wine is medium-bodied, has good freshness and vibrancy, and a nice, attractive finish. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "From vines averaging 40 years of age, the Raveneau 2006 Chablis Montee de Tonerre features ripe pineapple, lychee, grapefruit, and brown spices; piquant, pithy, yet deeply sweet nuttiness; an almost tactile sense of chalk dust; formidable sheer density; and a brothy richness that can only be compared with a bone-rich meat stock reduction. Fashioned from the estate’s finest Cabernet lots, it possesses terrific ripeness, a silky, plush texture, a big, full-bodied, broad, savory, deep, well-textured mouthfeel, and a 45-second finish. This gorgeous wine will offer both intellectual and hedonistic pleasure for another 12-15 years. The wine is medium to full-bodied, pure, ripe, and nicely-textured with a long finish. Heitz Wine Cellars has followed their impressive 1996 with this equally splendid special commemorative cuvee honoring the late Joe Heitz. 2000 Philip Togni Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2000 Philip Togni Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2000 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate (Togni holds back a small quantity of each vintage to release a decade later) represents a wonderful introduction into how well his wines age. 2000 was a very challenging vintage on Spring Mountain, but this wine possesses a gorgeous bouquet of cedarwood, plums, blueberries and black currants. In the mouth, some tannin is still noticeable, the weight is similar to the 2009's, and the wine may be just beginning to dry out slightly. Nevertheless, this 2000 reveals a Bordeaux-like personality with slightly ramped up ripeness in the nose. (RP)" (12/2010)

Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "(a blend of the two Cabernets, Merlot, Petit Verdot and Syrah; a joint venture involving Aaron Pott, Carole Meredith and Steve Lagier): Good red-ruby. Attractive aromas of redcurrant, game, licorice and chocolate. Dense and fine-grained, with brisk acidity framing the flavors of blackberry, iodine and game (I might have picked this blind as Malbec!). A bit clenched and unyielding on the back end, with the dusty tannins calling for at least a couple years of cellaring." (05/2012)

2001 Beringer "Private Reserve" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2001 Beringer "Private Reserve" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (97RP, 94ST, 90WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The spectacular 2001 Cabernet Sauvignon Private Reserve came in at 14.2% natural alcohol. The good news is that winemaker Ed Sbragia produced 10,000 cases of this beauty. Just hitting late adolescence, this 100% Cabernet Sauvignon cuvee exhibits an opaque dark purple color along with a beautiful, smoky, sweet black currant, licorice, truffle, toast and underbrush-scented nose. With fabulous concentration, great intensity and tremendous purity, this voluptuously textured, full-bodied classic is one of the all-time great Beringer Private Reserve Cabernet Sauvignons. While drinkable now, it will continue to evolve for at least another 20 years. " (06/2011)

Bid on this bottle of 1997 Dunn Howell Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon (95RP, 93AG, 90ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The enormous 1997 Cabernet Sauvignon Howell Mountain is a super-powerful, fabulously-concentrated, 50-year wine. Aromas and flavors of blackberry/cassis jam, minerals, and subtle oak are found in this extravagantly rich, gargantuan Cabernet Sauvignon that should age effortlessly for half a century. Anticipated maturity: 2015-2050." (12/2000)

2007 Domaine Comte de Vogüé Bonnes Mares Grand Cru
Bid on this bottle of 2007 Domaine Comte de Vogüé Bonnes Mares Grand Cru (94RP, 93BH, 93ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "De Vogue’s 2007 Bonnes Mares calls to mind sweet-tart black raspberry candies and herbal lozenges, along with notes of brown spices and smoky black tea. Rich, sedate, and provocatively sweet and perfumed, this manages simultaneously to preserve a saline savor and suggestion of lobster shell reduction that precludes anyone calling it a 'fruit bomb.' The smoky and--for lack of a better covering term-- 'mineral' elements accompany this Bonnes Mares' soothing finish all the way to its distant end. No doubt there is at least a decade’s worth of seduction and intrigue on hand, but here too, I would not hesitate to relish them significantly sooner. (DS)" (06/2010)

1993 Cheval Blanc, St-Emilion
Bid on this bottle of 1993 Cheval Blanc, St-Emilion (91ST). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Good full ruby-red. Knockout, complex nose offers vibrant aromas of raspberry, sour red cherry, strawberry, licorice and violet, complicated by white pepper and rose. Then moderately dense and fresh in the mouth, with delicately spicy notes of redcurrant, strawberry, licorice, coffee and minerals. This rather elegantly styled wine finishes bright and fresh, with firm, highly polished tannins. This midweight Cheval Blanc lacks the density and concentration of the better vintages, but it has an amazingly pure nose of Cabernet Franc (I'd score this 95 or more for its aromas) that is a joy to inhale. For those with deep pockets, it's also a fantastic food wine, and a simply amazing buy, since it will cost much less than many other more sought-after Cheval Blanc vintages." (10/2011)

Full-bodied, beautifully concentrated, yet also graceful and light on its feet, this incredible effort flirts with perfection and should have 15-20 years of longevity. (JD)" (06/2014)

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2005 Charles Smith Wines "Skull" Royal Slope Columbia Valley Syrah (98RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2005 Syrah The Skull comes from a different section of the Royal Slope. If it is possible, the wine is a bit more structured and powerful. It needs 8-10 years of cellaring and will be at its best from 2017 to 2035. " (06/2008)

2007 Clos des Papes Châteauneuf-du-Pape
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2007 Clos des Papes Châteauneuf-du-Pape (99RP, 97WS, 95ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "It is unquestionably one of the great Chateauneufs of my lifetime...Wow, what potential complexity, mind-boggling richness, and compelling flavor profile are apparent. It is a sublime expression of the art of winemaking as evidenced by its dense purple color and big, sweet kiss of kirsch, framboise, blackberries, licorice, roasted herbs, and smoked meat. It hits the palate with a fascinating combination of substance, power, full-bodied authority yet extraordinary freshness, elegance, and precision. Give it 3-4 years of cellaring, and watch it unleash its glory over the next three decades. This is a prodigious wine of great quality from one of the most important reference point estates in Chateauneuf du Pape. 99+ (RP)" (10/2009)

1995 Vieux-Château-Certan, Pomerol
Bid on this bottle of 1995 Vieux-Château-Certan, Pomerol (93RP, 92WS, 90ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "This bottle is not quite in the same league as ones tasted two or three years ago, but the ’95 remains one of Alexandre’s standout wines of that decade. Here, it has a haunting bouquet whereby the Cabernet Franc component is more conspicuous than before, essentially with more Pomerol character developing. There are touches of blackberry, mint and cassis with a meaty element developing in the glass. The palate has plenty of sweet red cherry and boysenberry on the entry, the oak now completely absorbed and with a slightly unruly, almost Rioja-like finish! Hedonistic VCC! Drink 2017-2035. Tasted October 2012. (Neal Martin's Wine Journal)" (09/2013)

1985 Pichon-Lalande, Pauillac
Bid on this bottle of 1985 Pichon-Lalande, Pauillac (94RP, 92WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: " This is a great Pichon-Lalande wallowing in its maturity. Here it retains that enticing tobacco-infused nose with leather and a touch of thyme, the palate beautifully balanced with tarry black fruit, vibrant acidity, mellow and supple with a touch of game coming through. Supple with firm tannins marrying naturally on the finish that has the texture (though not alcohol!) of a tawny port. I suspect this has not intention of ameliorating further and alongside the 1983, these are the Pichon Lalande’s to start depleting in your cellar. Drink now-2018. Tasted January 2010.
