2007 Joseph Swan "Trenton Estate" Russian River Valley Syrah

90 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Opaque ruby. Black and blue fruits on the nose, complicated by notes of black cardamom and candied violet. Spicy and precise on entry, then fleshier in the mid-palate, offering sweet blackberry and boysenberry flavors lifted by zesty acidity. The smoky, sweet, clinging finish leaves a note of cracked pepper behind." (5/2012)90 points Wine Enthusiast: "This is a notable wine for its smooth, supple tannins and its intense flavors of black cherry jam, mocha, bacon, black pepper and sandalwood. It’s a full-bodied selection for drinking soon, and be sure to pair it with almost anything i ...Read More »

2007 Pride Mountain Sonoma/Napa Counties Merlot Back In Stock!
2007 Pride Mountain Sonoma/Napa Counties Merlot

94 points Wine Spectator: "(#34 on the Top 100 of 2010) Lush and rich, yet impeccably structured, with bold red currant and toasty mocha aromas and layered flavors of ripe plum, loamy earth and spice, finishing with big but ripe tannins." (6/2010)92 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2007 Merlot, which comes from both Napa and Sonoma fruit (the Pride Mountain vineyards are split by the county line), exhibits a dense purple color as well as abundant chocolate and berry fruit notes, medium to full body, and great freshness, length, and depth. It is a heady, succulent style of Merlot to drink over the next 7-10 years ...Read More »

2007 Peay Vineyards "Les Titans" Estate Sonoma Coast Syrah

92 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Inky violet. Powerful aromas of crushed blackcurrant, violet, black pepper and olive. Lush and sappy, with deeply concentrated black and blue fruit and spice flavors energized by smoky minerality. Nothing thick or heavy about this wine, which packs a real punch. Finishes with enticing spicy lift and very good persistence. This should be even better with a bit of bottle age." (6/2010)

2007 Chateau Montelena Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The dark ruby-colored 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon Napa exhibits abundant aromas of earthy, berry fruit intermixed with black currants, tobacco leaf and spice. Enjoy this medium-bodied, supple, seductive Cabernet over the next 7-10 years." (12/2010) Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Deep ruby. Medicinal blackberry and licorice on the nose, plus a whiff of band-aid. Densely packed and sweet on entry, then juicy and tight in the mid-palate, with a slightly metallic medicinal quality to the dark berry and bitter chocolate flavors. The edgy tannins call for at least 12 to 18 months of patience. Thi ...Read More »

2007 Saxon Brown "Cricket Creek Vineyard" Alexander Valley Sémillon

Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Light yellow. Lime, lemongrass and quinine on the nose; smells like a Hunter Valley semillon. Richer pear and melon on the palate, with good spicy cut on the back. Uncompromisingly dry and focused, with zesty finishing minerality. (JR)" (6/2009) Wine Spectator: "Juicy pear, peach and nectarine notes have good intensity on a medium body, with appealing spice and citrus peel notes that give a pleasant bitter edge on the finish. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Aged 24 months in new French oak, this infant 2007 exhibits an inky/purple color along with notes of graphite, spring flowers and smoky oak. This full-bodied, classic Insignia reveals fabulous depth, ripeness, texture, viscosity and richness. Still young and unformed, it should evolve for 25 or more years. Perhaps I should just go ahead and give this 2007 a three-digit score as it is a profoundly great Cabernet Sauvignon-based effort...one of the top Insignias yet produced. (RP)" (11/2013)

2007 Dunn Howell Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2007 Dunn Howell Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon (97RP, 93ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon Howell Mountain is unlike any wine I have ever tasted from Dunn. Layer after layer of flavor saturates the palate in this opulent, full-throttle Cabernet Sauvignon. The 2007 possesses dazzling textural richness, depth and sheer intensity. Purists may prefer more structured vintages, but for a producer known for such slow maturing wines, the 2007 is a huge pleasure to taste today. Anticipated maturity: 2017-2037. (AG)" (12/2011)

Its dense purple color is accompanied by a thrilling bouquet of espresso roast, smoked herbs, licorice, creme de cassis, blackberries, and ink. The wine hits the palate with a blast of fruit, a full-bodied mouthfeel, and tremendous purity, definition, and length. The sensational purity and exquisite balance between all its elements are impressive as well as noteworthy. (97+, RP)" (12/2009)

2007 Kendall Jackson "Camelot" Highlands Estate Santa Maria Valley Chardonnay

93 points Robert Parker: "The highest production comes from the 2007 Highland Estates Chardonnay Camelot Vineyard (3,700 cases), which exhibits abundant amounts of pineapple, honeysuckle, and peach along with hints of brioche and caramel. Its full-bodied, luscious finish exhibits a subtle note of oak. Bid on this bottle of 2007 Beringer "Private Reserve" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (97RP, 93ST, 92CG, 91W&S, 91WS, 90JS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "One of the finest Private Reserves made over the last two decades, this phenomenal wine is obviously still an infant in terms of development, but it exhibits a dense purple color as well as an extraordinary nose of blackberries, white chocolate, licorice, tobacco leaf, smoky barbecue, charcoal and a burning ember-like note reminiscent of a Graves from Bordeaux. A dense, luscious, full-bodied, opulent style, with sweet tannin, this locked and loaded, intense, full throttle Private Reserve should be accessible in 5-6 years and last for 25-30. 2007 Brewer-Clifton Sta. Rita Hills Pinot Noir

Sensual and medium to full-bodied with great fruit, good acidity, and an incredible Burgundian-like character that suggests something from Morey-St.-Denis or further north, it should drink well for 7-8 years." Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2007 Shafer "Hillside Select" Stags Leap District Cabernet Sauvignon (100RP, 97JS, 97WE, 96ST, 92WS, 91CG). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "One of the perfect wines from Shafer is the 2007 Shafer Cabernet Sauvignon Hillside Select. Think it over – in the first decade of the 21st century, Shafer scored three perfect scores and two 99s – that’s about as high a praise as I can give any producer in the world. Opaque purple in color, the 2007 has a stunning nose of sweet crème de cassis, black cherries, licorice, and toasty oak, a multilayered, full-throttle personality, and a texture that builds and builds. Great purity, fabulous fruit intensity and a richness without heaviness characterize this massive, prodigious effort from Shafer. It’s still very young, despite this vintage, which seems to be maturing precociously. I don’t believe this wine will hit its stride for at least another 5-10 years and drink well for at least 2-3 decades. (RP) " (12/2014)

2007 Mount Eden "Estate" Santa Cruz Mountains Chardonnay

Despite the richness, it's dry and crisp in acidity, with a minerally tang. Drink now." (2/2011)93 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The Mount Eden 2007 Chardonnay Estate (normal release) comes across as quite lush and fat relative to the Reserve tasted alongside it. This is a sweet, generous style, with beautifully filled out layers of fruit and an open, inviting personality, while the Reserve is decidedly more mineral-driven and pointed. 2007 Dehlinger Estate Russian River Valley Chardonnay

92 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Pale gold. Smoky, mineral-driven nose hints at apple butter, iodine, jasmine and buttered toast. Juicy and tight, with bracing acidity and a distinctly saline, iodiney character to its fresh orchard fruit flavors. A refreshingly bitter lemon pith quality adds lift and cut to a long, smoky, penetrating finish." (6/2010) Connoisseurs Guide: "Themes of ripe Gala apples are infused with a fair bit of sweet oak and lightly seasoned with touches of toast in the nose, and, if a fairly big, well-ripened and similarly oaky wine in the mouth, this bottling displays good length, fine fru ...Read More »

2007 Sea Smoke "Ten" Sta. Rita Hills Pinot Noir
Bid on this bottle of 2007 Sea Smoke "Ten" Sta. Rita Hills Pinot Noir (97WE, 91ST). Wine Enthusiast: " * Cellar Selection * This very dense, tannic Pinot Noir represents a triumph for both the winery, the vintage and the region it represents. A multi-clone blend (hence the name) with high, cool-climate acidity and aged in 100% new oak, it’s still young, fresh and tight. The astringency throws a cloak over the raspberries, cherries, rosehip tea and Indian spice flavors, which reveal themselves only reluctantly. 2007 Peay Vineyards "Scallop Shelf" Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir Back In Stock!
2007 Peay Vineyards "Scallop Shelf" Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir

95 points Wine & Spirits: "Scallop Shelf takes its name from the fossils found in the soil at this old fruit orchard, a vineyard site four miles from the Pacific. It's a blend of six clones, emphasizing the spicy red fruit character of the Pommard clone, which, when it hits on the far Sonoma Coast, makes some of the region's most distinctive pinot noirs. The wine is transparent in color and in its strawberry-like fruit, bright and intense against the smoky conifer minerality of the soil. This powerhouse should drink well for a decade." (2/2010)94 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Medium yellow. Quite dry and tannic in youth, it shows an astringency that strongly suggests the cellar. Underneath are powerhouse flavors of blackberries, black and red cherries, spices, tea and cedar. Black raspberry, blueberry, licorice, incense and graphite characteristics are accompanied by an opaque purple color, gorgeous complexity and richness and hints of toasty oak as well as flowers. Full-bodied and dense, with Montelena’s typical power, tannin and reserved nature, this is a big, rich, formidably endowed red that requires 4-5 years of cellaring. 2007 Kapcsandy Family "State Lane Vineyard Estate Cuvée" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend Back In Stock!
2007 Kapcsandy Family "State Lane Vineyard Estate Cuvée" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend

96 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2007 Estate Cuvee State Lane Vineyard (a 750-case blend of 46% Cabernet Sauvignon, 46% Merlot, and the rest Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot) boasts an inky/plum/purple color as well as a complex bouquet of melted licorice, chocolate, creme de cassis, mocha, and sweet forest floor aromas. Full-bodied and layered with exquisite purity, texture, and length, this large-scaled offering reveals a supple texture along with 20-25 years of drinkability. It is a seductive yet extraordinarily complex wine that should prove to be a future super-star. (RP) ...Read More »

2007 Peay Vineyards "La Bruma" Sonoma Coast Syrah Back In Stock!
2007 Peay Vineyards "La Bruma" Sonoma Coast Syrah

93 points from Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellars: "Bright purple. Vibrant raspberry, cherry, potpourri and incense on the sharply focused, highly expressive nose. Dense, juicy and sweet, with graceful strawberry and raspberry flavors and a supple, seamless texture. Picks up spiciness and floral character, as well as a hint of smoke, with a few minutes of aeration. Finishes very long, with gentle tannins and a strong note of candied flowers. I marginally prefer this wine's elegance to the power of the Les Titans today." (May/Jun '10) La Bruma ("... Read More »

2007 Mer Soleil Santa Lucia Highlands Chardonnay

90 points Wine Spectator: "Fresh, rich, intense and vibrant. Full-bodied, with spicy pear, green apple honeydew melon and light oak shadings, ending with a long, pure, ripe focus." (Insider, 05/10) Mer Soleil is the project of Charlie Wagner, son and protégé of Caymus founder Chuck Wagner. The winery's Central Coast Chardonnay comes from the Santa Lucia Highlands, where the sea and the sun work in consort to create a wonderful environment for the varietal. A California-style chardonnay with lots of up front tropical fruit, spice and a buttery-rich mid-p... Read More »

2007 Marcassin "Marcassin Vineyard" Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2007 Marcassin "Marcassin Vineyard" Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir (98RP, 96WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: " I had always believed the 2007 Pinot Noir was the finest Helen Turley and John Wetlaufer had produced at their Estate Vineyard, but after doing this vertical and seeing the performances of the 1998, 2002 and 2004, that belief rings somewhat hollow. The still young, incredible 2007 has all the potential needed to achieve a three-digit rating in a few years. A dense plum/purple color is followed by notes of subtle smoke, barbecue spice, blueberries, red and black currants, flowers, and a smoky meat-like character that I first compared to the aroma of Peking duck. There is something exotic about this full-bodied, dense 2007. Young and vibrant, it should hit its peak in 5-6 years, and last until 2030-2035. This world-class, prodigious Pinot Noir is probably better than 90% of the red Burgundies being produced. 98+ (RP)" (06/2014)

2007 Peter Michael "Les Pavots" Knights Valley Bordeaux Blend
Bid on this bottle of 2007 Peter Michael "Les Pavots" Knights Valley Bordeaux Blend (97RP, 95WS, 93JS, 93ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2007 Les Pavots, a Bordeaux varietal blend of 70% Cabernet Sauvignon, 17% Cabernet Franc, 10% Merlot, and 3% Petit Verdot, is brilliant. Its opaque purple color is accompanied by gorgeously complex aromas of melted chocolate, espresso roast, blackberries, and cassis. Full-bodied with a superb texture, a subtle note of oak, and fabulous concentration, it is more reminiscent of a Right Bank Bordeaux than one expects with this much Cabernet Sauvignon in the blend. A thirty-year wine, its impeccable balance and the sweetness of its tannins make it accessible already. (RP)" (02/2010)

2007 Kosta Browne Russian River Valley Pinot Noir

93 points Connoisseurs Guide: "**Two Stars** This remarkably well-concentrated wine is endowed with black cherry fruit as its primary focus and adds in caramel and crème brûlée richness alongside hints of toffee and dried spices. It is full but not heavy on the palate and already exhibits the wonderfully lush texture of fine Pinot Noir. Deep and flavorful, open and quite accessible, structured for aging and able to be enjoyed today, this is a wine to be remembered." (7/2009)90 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Vivid red. Intensely spicy aromas of black raspberry, cherry skin, anise and white pepper. Lush and sweet, with d ...Read More »

2007 Beckmen Purisima Mountain Vineyard Grenache Rosé (Previously $20)

From Robert Parker's "Value Issue": "Another good value includes the 2007 Grenache Rose, a light pink-colored wine with loads of strawberry and framboise-like fruit offered in a medium-bodied, refreshing style. It is meant to be consumed over the next 8-12 months." (08/08) Grapes for this beautifully fresh rosé are hand selected each year for their perfect flavor profile. Grenache was chosen for its fresh, spicy strawberry flavors and crisp acidity, with a small amount of Syrah added for depth and complexity. The Grenache and Syrah were de-stemmed, gentl... 2007 Krupp Brothers "Veraison" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon

91 points Wine Spectator: "Reaching a nice drinking stage, with the currant, blueberry and wild berry flavors turning fleshy, offering hints of cedar, anise, tobacco, dried herb and loamy earth. Very complex and supple. Drink now through 2020." (11/2011)90 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Dark red. Aromas of currant, blueberry, licorice and bitter chocolate, plus a whiff of tar. Densely packed and attractively sweet, with ripe acidity framing the dark berry flavors. A bit youthfully medicinal but in a relaxed, supple way. Finishes with well-buffered tannins and a lingering minty nuance. Nicely balanced cabernet. ...Read More »

2007 Calera "Selleck Vineyard" Mt. Harlan Pinot Noir
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2007 Calera "Selleck Vineyard" Mt. Harlan Pinot Noir (98RP, 96W&S, 92ST, 90WE). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Even better is the 2007 Pinot Noir Selleck Vineyard, perhaps the finest Pinot ever made by Calera. This 4.8-acre vineyard planted in 1975 has a much warmer southwest exposure than some of the estate’s other sites. Only 411 cases were produced of this compelling Pinot Noir. Sassafras, black cherry, raspberry, plum, pomegranate, cedar, and underbrush aromas are accompanied by a full-bodied, ripe wine with beautiful acids, an intense underlying minerality/terroir character, and a long finish. The 2007 Selleck is slightly less evolved than the Jensen, but it is an impressive Pinot that should age effortlessly for 10-15+ years. Kudos to Josh Jensen for producing this remarkable group of wines! (RP)" (08/2010)

2007 Frank Family "Reserve" Rutherford Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2007 Frank Family "Reserve" Rutherford Cabernet Sauvignon (95RP, 93WE, 92ST, 92WS, 91CG). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve reveals a more opaque blue/purple color in addition to gorgeous aromas of spring flowers, blueberries, boysenberries, and hints of licorice and background oak. It cuts a broader, richer, full-bodied swath across the palate with no hard edges. Full and layered, this seamless beauty is further evidence of just how great as well as consistent the 2007 vintage is for this varietal in Napa Valley. Drink it over the next 15-20 years. 2007 Flowers "Camp Meeting Ridge" Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir

91 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "*Outstanding* An exceptionally pretty nose features notes of fresh cranberry and strawberry yet there is good breadth and depth to the fruit and this depth continues as the detailed and obviously mineral-infused flavors possess excellent balance and fine length. This is a genuinely lovely effort and despite the expressiveness of the nose, it's actually relatively understated in the mouth. While 45 minutes in a decanter will render this approachable now, the balance should enable it to age well." (10/2009) Wine Spectator: "Tight and edgy, with firm mineral, dusty berry, sag ...Read More »
