94 points James Halliday: "*Special Value Selection*...this is a seriously attractive medium-bodied, cool-grown wine with cedary tannins woven through the cassis and plum of the long palate. Outstanding value. Larry Cherubino has had a particularly distinguished winemaking career...the range and quality of his wine is extraordinary, the prices irresistible." (7/2014) K&L Notes: Larry Cherubino is one of the most highly regarded winemakers in Australia in fact he was recently voted (by his peers, the other top flight winemakers) into the current Top Ten Most Talented winemakers in the nation. 92 points James Halliday: "*Special Value Selection* Simple stainless steel fermentation at a relatively low temperature has thrown all the emphasis on the very attractive array of fruit aromas and flavours spanning snow pea, citrus and passionfruit, and doing so without assaulting the senses." (12/2013) K&L Notes: Mount Trio was named one of James Halliday's Top 10 "Dark Horses" of up-and-coming wineries for 2014. This small family estate owned and managed by veteran winemaker Gavin Berry and his wife. Together they make wines from their own lovingly hand-tended 20 acres in the Porongurup su... Read More »
94 points James Halliday: "Pale straw-green; the voluminous and complex bouquet sets the scene for the palate, where citrus and apple flavours grapple with crunchy acidity. Just when you think the acidity wins the argument, the lingering aftertaste reveals the fruit once more. Its Porongurup heritage guarantees its long future." (7/2013) K&L Notes: Mount Trio was named one of James Halliday's Top 10 "Dark Horses" of up-and-coming wineries for 2014. 94 points James Halliday: "Good colour; an impressive wine at all points along the way, with a peacock's tail display of black cherry, spice and licorice embraced by warm, fine tannins, oak playing a largely unseen role. Will cellar well, but there's no reason not to drink it today, having flourished over the past 18+ months." 98 points James Suckling: "No.9 in Top 100 Australian Wines: There's a very assertive nose here that has a gently flinty edge, some nicely handled oak and hints of pithy lemon across more peachy stone fruits; tropical hints too, plus a chalky element. Very fresh and tightly wound. The palate has a very composed style to it with great depth and oak integration; long and powerful but quite sleek through the middle. A great example, this is tightly coiled for now and releases a slow-burning grilled nut flavor through the finish. The Aston Martin of Chardonnay, with sleek lines and pl ...Read More »
94 points James Halliday: "A 58% (Sauvignon Blanc) 42% (Semillon blend) machine harvested at night; most cold - fermented in stainless steel, with 7% of the blend fermented in new and used French barriques. There is an array of citrus and tropical fruit aromas and flavours, but it is the electricity of the intense palate that is the defining feature of the wine." K&L Notes: Cape Mentelle takes a minimal approach towards this classic Margaret River blend. The aim is to preserve as much fruit intensity and regional character as possible, whilst providing a full-flavored and distinctive white win... Read More »
94 points James Halliday: "Light straw-green; it is a tribute to the quality of the Art Series Chardonnay that this should be Leeuwin's entry point wine; there is a perfect balance between the grapefruit spectrum and the white peach spectrum, oak a near-invisible net holding the parts together, the length exceptional"92 points Wine Enthusiast: "This is remarkably lush and full-bodied, yet remains lively and mouthwatering. Toasted nuts frame ample flavors of grilled pineapple and melon. Drink now 2017. The success of this wine should be a good indicator that, when released, the 2012 Art Series will be somethin ...Read More »
96 points James Halliday: "The purity of varietal expression on the bouquet is paralleled by the tightly carved green apple, citrus and mineral of the palate. This is a classic Riesling simply needing time to burst into a shimmering display of flavours that will seek every corner of the mouth, and linger long after it is swallowed." (7/2013)90 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2012 Riesling gives notes of freshly squeezed limes, honeysuckle and frangipani with nuances of lemon pastilles and wet slate. Dry, light-bodied and very crisp in the mouth, it offers a wonderful burst of citrus fruit flavor and a long, stee ...Read More »
92 points James Halliday: "Pale straw-green; rich fruit salad and cream style; no shortage of flavour, ready now. Trophy Best '13 Verdelho, Swan Valley Wine Show '13." K&L Notes: Really exciting wine...the back story on this is that while in college I once found a few closeout cases of Swan Valley Verdelho in a random rundown corner shop liquor store...long story short, the stuff was delicious and it became our house wine for as long as the supply lasted! While traveling in Swan Valley some years later I was excited to taste this lovely bottle from Sittella and be transported back to my first ... Read More »

96 points James Halliday: "...excellent colour, a vividly fragrant bouquet and intense medium-bodied palate bringing together the strength and power of Mount Barker and the somewhat fleshier black and redcurrant fruit flavours of Margaret River, the tannin and oak contributions precisely calibrated." (7/2012)91 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Deep garnet in color, the 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon opens with aromas of black currant preserves, blackberry compote and stewed plums followed by hints of black pepper, cloves and spearmint. Medium-bodied with plenty of mouth-filling blackberry and mint flavors, it has a good bac ...Read More »
90 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2013 Chardonnay has a nose of honeydew, ripe nectarines and poached pears with a toasty undercurrent. Medium-bodied, it fills the palate with lively melon and peachy flavors with a suggestion of creaminess to the texture and a good long finish. Drink it now to 2018. 90+ (LPB)" (8/2014)
James Halliday: "Special Value Selection: Clear, vivid red; the fragrant, aromatic bouquet leads into a light to medium-bodied palate, full of juicy red fruit flavours tailor-made for early drinking, although there are enough fine tannins on the finish to sustain it for a couple of years in the bottle, or match it with hearty food. Excellent value." K&L Notes: A unique blend of Shiraz, Grenache and Tempranillo that all do extremely well in the warm Swan Valley climate. This wine captures the richness and power of Swan Valley fruit, while retaining lots and freshness and spice. A medi... Read More »
97 points James Halliday: "*Special Value Selection* Estate-grown 40yo vines, and only free-run juice, gives the wine a flying start. Its intensity is exceptional, driving along the palate with high speed, the Bickford's lime juice flavours running unabated through the finish and well into the lingering aftertaste. An exceptional wine."
95 points James Halliday: "**Special Value Selection** "Light straw-green; a complex blend with considerable presence and attitude from the first whiff to the conclusion of the long, multi-flavoured and multi-textured palate; a small left field component was wild-fermented in stainless steel barrels. It is the overall intensity of the wine that really grabs attention, engineered by the way the flavours build across the palate."

94 points James Halliday: "**Special Value Selection** Deep crimson; it has a rich and vibrant bouquet of black fruits, spice and pepper; the 12 months it spent in oak also makes its presence felt, joining with the tannins on the medium-bodied palate to provide excellent texture and structure." (3/2014) K&L Notes: Winemaker's Notes: "This wine has great richness of flavour, aromas of spicy cherry and plum and a soft fruit-driven palate delivering dark berries, liquorice and subtle tannins. The wine is approachable but will continue to develop and improve with cellaring. We source a single vin... Read More »
