Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2009 Domaine de Montille Pommard 1er Cru "Pézerolles" ((91-93BH), (90-92RP), 92ST). Allen Meadows - Burghound: "*Sweet Spot. Outstanding!* Like the Taillepieds, this is also highly perfumed with rose petal, fresh red berries, wet stone and an earthy component that can also be found on the equally mineral-inflected, cool and pure flavors that evidence excellent detail and real verve on the delicious, intense and persistent finish. A lovely and understated Pommard of finesse." (05/2011)

Aromas and flavors of black raspberry and smoked meat. Even sweeter than the Lavieres, but with more mineral lift giving the middle palate a lovely delicacy and accentuating the impression of perfume. A superb Beaune wine with excellent flavor intensity and length. The tannins are quite fine. " (03/2010)

Allen Meadows - Burghound: " A naturally spicy, fresh and elegant nose of dark pinot fruit and violets merges into exceptionally pure medium-bodied flavors that possess first rate detail on the clean and harmonious finish. 2011 Sociando-Mallet, Haut-Médoc (OWC)
Bid on this 12-bottle lot of 2011 Sociando-Mallet, Haut-Médoc (OWC - 91RP, 90JS) in original wood. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Whether it is due to the vintage or to Gautreau, the ferocity of the tannins in many 2011 Medocs seems relatively tame, but there is no lacking concentration in this wine, which is clearly of classified growth quality. It boasts a dense purple color along with abundant notes of creme de cassis, crushed rocks and spring flowers. Medium-bodied and super-rich, it is a real revelation in a vintage such as 2011. Given its precociousness and silky tannins, it can be drunk in 2-3 years, or cellared for two decades. (RP)" (04/2014)

Black raspberry, spices and a whiff of horseradish on the nose. Supple and sweet in the mouth, with hints of dark cherry and pepper. Tighter on the back end than the Gevrey villages but mounts nicely and lingers." (01/2013)

2009 Fattoria Galardi Terra di Lavoro
Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2009 Fattoria Galardi Terra di Lavoro (93RP, 92WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "I suppose after so many important vintages it is only natural that Mother Nature takes a break. Terra di Lavoro is usually a huge wine in its youth, but not so in 2009. This is one of the most open, approachable young Terra di Lavoros I have ever tasted. The wine shows good intensity in its dark fruit, with layers of ash, smoke, crushed flowers and minerals that develop in the glass. The 2009 is a pretty, accessible Terra di Lavoro that will make a great introduction for readers who are new to the wine and don't want to wait for some of the more important vintages to come around. Terra di Lavoro is 80% Aglianico and 20% Piedirosso. The 2009 spent 14 months in French oak barrels, 70% new...Anticipated maturity: 2017-2029. (AG)" (06/2011)

Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2009 Domaine William Fèvre Chablis Grand Cru "Vaudésir" (OWC - 94BH, 93RP, 91ST) in original wood. Allen Meadows - Burghound: "A mildly exotic and atypically reticent nose that is ripe yet airy showcases aromas of orange peel, peach and hints of roasted nut and iodine, before leading to rich, even opulent medium plus weight flavors that are delicious, round and strikingly persistent on the mouth coating and moderately austere finish. This has really come together since I last saw it and like the Bougros, this is quite a bit more refined than I'm used to seeing. An excellent example." (10/2011)

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2010 Rosso di Montalcino opens to a brilliant ruby color and tightly focused aromas of forest berry, white almond, cola, bramble and anisette. It exhibits a stunning sense of lightness and buoyancy. Of course, that characteristic note of acidic freshness and menthol makes for a resounding finish and is testament of the enormous quality of fruit in 2010. Drink: 2014-2022. " (02/2014)

Wine Enthusiast: "This is a wonderful wine, which comes from the vineyard in the south of Alsace that the Humbrechts brought back from obscurity. It has both intensity and also great elegance. It has flavors of currants, layers of orange zest and some fresh acidity. But it also has spice which lies gently with the fruit flavors. The taste just goes on forever. " (04/2005)

2000 Louis Latour Nuits-St-Georges
Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2000 Louis Latour Nuits-St-Georges. Have you been looking for older Burgundy and seen how little is available? In particular the 2000 vintage, which is drinking deliciously well, has become particularly hard to find. As the producer says of this wine: "An intense, deeply coloured wine, showing pronounced, complex fruit of cherries, blackcurrents and violets, with truffles and spices. Subtle and integrated oak flavours on the palate with peppery notes, this wine is medium bodied, concentrated and admirably long on the finish."

Allen Meadows - Burghound: "This is aromatically more complex than the Aigrots with more iron and earth nuances to the panoply of red berry fruit aromas that carry liqueur-like scents. The rich, delicious and charming flavors display good power and focus on the balanced, concentrated and palate staining finish. This beautiful and decidedly serious effort is deceptively open at present yet it should repay a decade, or even more, of cellar time. (Drink starting 2019)" (04/2012)

Wine Enthusiast: " ** Cellar Selection ** The Vigne de l’Enfant Jésus is a 10-acre parcel in the heart of the Grèves vineyard that once belonged to Carmelite nuns. Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2006 Il Poggione "Vigna Paganelli" Brunello di Montalcino Riserva (OWC - 97RP, 96WE, 94ST, 92WS) in original wood. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2006 Brunello di Montalcino Riserva Vigna Paganelli is huge, powerful and totally implosive. The seductive allure of the 2007 is nowhere to be found. Instead, the 2006 is built on a serious spine of formidable tannin and dark red/black fruit. Hints of tar, licorice, rose petals and tobacco inform the powerful, virile finish. The 2006 is going to require considerable patience, but it is clearly a jewel of a wine, even at this early stage. Anticipated maturity: 2016-2046.(AG)" (04/2012)

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Clinet has produced a blockbuster wine, even in the lighter, less consistent vintage of 2011. It reveals a dense purple color as well as an abundance of black cherry, black currant and blackberry fruit intermixed with licorice, incense and a touch of camphor. Full-bodied, opulent and fleshy with a substantial finish, this showy, dramatic 2011 should drink well for 15-20 years. Brilliant! (RP)" (04/2014)

Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2011 Hubert Lamy St.-Aubin 1er Cru "Clos de la Chateniere" Vieilles Vignes (92AG). Antonio Galloni: "The 2011 St. Aubin Clos de la Chatenière is endowed with tremendous depth and texture, much of which comes from the 50 year-old vines. Tangerine, honey and almonds are some of many notes that flesh out in the glass. Juicy, layered and deeply expressive, the 2011 is another wine with a lot to offer. The finish alone will leave readers longing for another taste. Simply put, the 2011 is drop-dead gorgeous." (09/2013)

This is an explosive wine that finishes bone dry and manages to combine impressive power with balance and focus. I actually prefer the delivery of this to the Goutte d'Or but at present at least, it doesn't quite have the same degree of complexity. A qualitative choice but both are worth considering. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A big time sleeper of the vintage and a terrific success for Fieuzal, the 2008 is a wine to buy given its realistic price. Dense plum/purple-colored with a soaring bouquet of blue and black fruits, unsmoked cigar tobacco, lead pencil shavings and spring flowers, it is a suave, savory, medium to full-bodied, remarkably silky, appealing wine to enjoy over the next 12-15 years. With time in the glass, the fruit gradually begins to emerge. The Clos du Roi looks to be one of the more sumptuous 2008s, once the tannins soften a touch. There is an excellent sense of underlying tension to the cool, well-detailed and delicious mineral-driven medium-bodied flavors that possess outstanding complexity on the bone dry, crisp and linear finish. It is a glass-coating opaque purple color with an already complex perfume of floral, mineral, spice, and black fruit elements. Dense and packed, this structured but impeccably balanced offering will evolve for 8-10 years and have a 30+ year lifespan. Bodegas Fernando Remirez de Ganuza is one of Rioja’s benchmark estates. Bid on this magnum of 2000 Pierre Usseglio "Mon Aieul" Châteauneuf-du-Pape (1.5L) (95RP, 93ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The profound 2000 Chateauneuf du Pape Cuvee de Mon Aieul (85% Grenache and the rest equal parts Syrah, Mourvedre, and Cinsault) tips the scales at 15% alcohol. From an old vineyard and cropped at 15 hectoliters per hectare, and aged only in foudre, it boasts a dense purple color in addition to an exquisite nose of violets, minerals, blueberries and blackberries. Pure and concentrated, but atypically tannic, it requires considerable aging as it is one of the vintage's more backward, broodingly powerful efforts. Anticipated maturity: 2006-2020." (02/2003)

Wonderfully sweet, silky and seamless, but with harmonious acidity energizing the mid-palate and keeping the wine's flavors under wraps today. 1989 Paul Jaboulet Aîné "La Chapelle" Hermitage
Bid on this bottle of 1989 Paul Jaboulet Aîné "La Chapelle" Hermitage (96RP, 96WS). Wine Spectator: "A torrid summer with little rain and good weather during the harvest led to a Chapelle of immense potential. Burly and not as seamless as the '90, with layers of this wine's typical plum, mineral and blackberry notes. While monolithic like a granite block, all the pieces should come together as it ages." Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2009 Marcassin "Marcassin Vineyard" Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir (97RP, 97WS). Wine Spectator: "Amazingly seductive, from the initial aromas of smoky, toasty, creamy vanilla-scented oak to the richer mix of wild berry and raspberry fruit. Lifts midpalate and soars from there, finishing with a pleasing tannic grip and a long, persistent finish. Drink now through 2025." (02/2014)

2010 Caymus "Special Selection" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (OWC)
Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2010 Caymus "Special Selection" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (OWC - 98RP, 96WS, 93AG, 92W&S) in original wood. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon Special Selection exhibits an opaque purple color, slightly more toasty oak in the aromatics, and explosive richness on the attack, mid-palate and length. The nose is slightly more restrained than in the regular bottling, but there is no doubting the Special Selection is a cut or two above the Napa bottling when it hits the palate. Extraordinary purity of fruit, creme de cassis, licorice and incense all emerge from this full-bodied, iconic classic. It can be enjoyed now and over the next 25+ years. (RP)" (10/2013)

2012 Sine Qua Non "Stein" Central Coast Grenache
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2012 Sine Qua Non "Stein" Central Coast Grenache ((96-99RP), (95-97AG)). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Moving to the Grenache-driven efforts, the 2012 Grenache Stein incorporates 16% Syrah and 8% Mourvedre. Aged 22 months in mostly used oak (various sizes), it offers awesome purity and freshness in its black raspberry, cassis, ground herbs, white pepper and licorice-driven bouquet. The palate follows suite and is full-bodied, deeply concentrated and layered, with fabulous precision and length. This is blockbuster stuff that will have two decades of longevity. (JD)" (08/2014)

1976 Mouton Rothschild, Pauillac (3L)
Bid on this 3L-bottle lot of 1976 Mouton Rothschild, Pauillac (3L). From Robert Parker…'Mouton-Rothschild can often be the most dramatic and flamboyant wine of the Medoc. The heavy reliance on Cabernet Sauvignon (85%) with tiny quantities of Merlot (8%) and Cabernet Franc (7%) in the 185-acre vineyard tends to produce powerful, nearly opaque purple wines that taste remarkably well young but close up quickly, with the wine's tannin dominating the fruit for 10-15 or more years.' Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2002 Domaine Gros Frère & Soeur Richebourg Grand Cru (95RP, 95ST, 93WE, (90-92BH)). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2002 Richebourg has a strong ruby color and reveals magnificent aromatic depth. Its candied red cherry, sassafras and cola scents lead to a medium-bodied core of cassis, blackberries, spices, and cherries galore. Silky-textured, deep, and holding much in reserve, this concentrated, elegant wine also displays an exceptionally long finish. Projected maturity: 2008-2020. Bravo!" (08/2004)

2009 Domaine Tortochot Chambertin Grand Cru
Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2009 Domaine Tortochot Chambertin Grand Cru (95BH). Allen Meadows - Burghound: "A ripe yet restrained, cool and surprisingly airy given the nature of the vintage displays a highly complex nose of red currant, blue berry, dark berries and ample minerality that continues onto the relatively accessible medium weight plus flavors that possess a plenitude of mouth coating dry extract. This is gorgeously, indeed almost painfully intense with explosive power to the austere and driving finish. This does a slow but inexorable build from the mid-palate and despite all of the muscle, this is actually a wine of balance and refinement. Most impressive." (01/2012)

2010 Haut-Brion, Pessac-Léognan
Bid on this bottle of 2010 Haut-Brion, Pessac-Léognan (100RP, 99WS, 98ST, 98WE, 97JS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "As for the 2010 Haut-Brion, it does not have the power of Latour’s 2010 or the intense lead pencil shavings and chocolaty component of Lafite-Rothschild, but it is extraordinary, perfect wine. It has a slightly lower pH than the 2009 (3.7 versus the 2009's 3.8), and even higher alcohol than the 2009 (14.6%). The wine is ethereal. From its dense purple color to its incredibly subtle but striking aromatics that build incrementally, offering up a spectacular smorgasbord of aromas ranging from charcoal and camphor to black currant and blueberry liqueur and spring flowers, this wine’s finesse, elegant yet noble power and authority come through in a compelling fashion. It is full-bodied, but that’s only apparent in the aftertaste, as the wine seems to float across the palate with remarkable sweetness, harmony, and the integration of all its component parts – alcohol, tannin,

2012 Schrader "Beckstoffer To Kalon, RBS" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2012 Schrader "Beckstoffer To Kalon, RBS" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (98RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer To Kalon Vineyard RBS, which is also from Clone 337 but from different blocks on the Beckstoffer To Kalon Vineyard, saw oak with 90% new Darnajou and 10% new Taransaud. This wine seems slightly more expansive, shares the black ruby/purple color with all of it siblings, and has a boatload of crème de cassis, incense, licorice, graphite and vanilla along with plenty of spice box and forest floor. This is a killer, full-bodied, super-duper, opulent Cabernet Sauvignon to drink over the next 20 years. (RP)" (10/2014)

Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2004 Shafer "Hillside Select" Stags Leap District Cabernet Sauvignon (OWC - 100WE, 98RP, 96WS, 93CG) in original wood. Wine Enthusiast: "A perfect score has to be considered in the context of its region. Shafer' 2004 Hillside Select is tremendous as a Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon that competes with its peers at the highest levels... This 100% Cabernet is tremendous in cassis, black currant and mocha flavors, and the 100% new French oak provides perfect additions of smoke and caramel. It's soft and gorgeous enough to drink now, and should age well in a cool cellar for the next 20 years" (03/2009)

Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2005 Domaine Groffier Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru "Amoureuses" (93RP, (89-92BH), 91ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2005 Chambolle-Musigny Les Amoureuses offers gorgeous aromas of black raspberry, bergamot, orange zest, narcissus and white pepper. Lovely deep, dark fruit shadings with subtle chalkiness and fresh, raw meatiness along with persistent inner-mouth florality inform a firmly but finely tannic and expansive palate. This really sticks to the gums, with a superb smoky, sappy, pungent persistence." (04/2007)

2008 Lucien le Moine Corton-Renardes Grand Cru
Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2008 Lucien le Moine Corton-Renardes Grand Cru ((90-93BH), (92-93RP), (91-93ST)). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The twin barrels of Le Moine 2008 Corton Renardes are even more tender in texture than their Bressandes sibling, as well as sweeter in their still-tart fruit (here strawberry, cherry, and rhubarb). Brown spices, browned butter, and hints of caramel make for an appealing cookie dough-like aspect on this wine’s subtly creamy and palpably dense yet buoyant palate. Nor are herbal or floral nuances entirely neglected in the complex performance. A smoky, Latakia-like note graces this wine’s long finish. I suspect 12-15 years will prove a sufficiently conservative estimate of its potential. (DS)" (06/2010)

1990 Léoville-Las-Cases, St-Julien
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 1990 Léoville-Las-Cases, St-Julien (96RP, 93WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "As one might expect, this is a brilliant wine, but it remains shockingly young, even for the fast evolving 1990s. Its deep ruby/purple color is accompanied by a classic, nearly restrained set of aromatics that includes notions of sweet black cherries, black currants, lead pencil, and wet stones. In the mouth, it is full-bodied, and while technically low in acidity, there is a freshness, delineation, and classicism in this full-throttle, rich, concentrated, impeccable 1990. While still youthful, it is easy to appreciate despite its substantial tannins. It is not quite as backward as the 1990 Lafite Rothschild or 1990 Latour. Anticipated maturity: now-2035. Antonio Galloni: "The 2007 Brunello di Montalcino Sugarille is dazzling. Dark fruit, tar, licorice and smoke come to life in this dramatic, large-scaled Brunello. The 2007 boasts incredible intensity and power all the way through to the palate-staining finish. Today the tannins are big and imposing, but they should start settling down as the wine approaches its tenth birthday. I saw the wine shut down quickly in the glass, which is an excellent sign for its potential longevity. This is a flat-out gorgeous bottle of wine. " (04/2012)

1986 Margaux, Margaux
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 1986 Margaux, Margaux (98AG, 98RP, 93WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A magnificent example of Chateau Margaux and one of the most tannic, backward Margauxs of the last 50 years, the 1986 continues to evolve at a glacial pace. The color is still a dense ruby/purple with just a hint of lightening at the rim. With several hours of aeration, the aromatics become striking, with notes of smoke, toast, creme de cassis, mineral, and white flowers. Very full-bodied, with high but sweet tannin, great purity, and a very masculine, full-bodied style, this wine should prove nearly immortal in terms of its aging potential. It is beginning to budge from its infantile stage and approach adolescence. Anticipated maturity: 2008-2050. Last tasted, 12/02. (RP)" (01/2003)
