2009 Schrader "Beckstoffer To Kalon, RBS" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this bottle of 2009 Schrader "Beckstoffer To Kalon, RBS" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (96RP, 95WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon RBS Beckstoffer To Kalon Vineyard comes across as dark, plush and inviting, but with greater inner focus and minerality than some of the other wines here. Graphite, smoke, tar and licorice are some of the notes that wrap around the intense, juicy finish. I especially admire the way the RBS grows in the glass as it turns more explosive over time, yet never loses its more refined shades of expression. The RBS is 100% clone 337 from the B1 and B2 blocks. According to winemaker Thomas Rivers Brown, it is the addition of fruit from B2 (new this year) that gives the 2009 much of its personality. Anticipated maturity: 2014-2024...The Schrader Cabernets are big, bold wines that nevertheless show remarkable detail and transparency to site, as is evidenced by the five separate bottlings from Andy Beckstoffer’s To Kalon vineyard i

2012 Rivers-Marie "Occidental Ridge Vineyard" Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2012 Rivers-Marie "Occidental Ridge Vineyard" Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir (95AG). Antonio Galloni: "The 2012 Pinot Noir Occidental Ridge Vineyard is arguably the most dense and compact of these Pinots. Here, it is the wine's structure that stands out most. Whereas most of the 2012 Rivers-Marie Pinots are drinking well right now, the Occidental Ridge is a wine that needs to be cellared for at least another year or two. Firm tannins support a salivating finish laced with dark red and blue tones fruit, crushed rocks and chalk. A dollop of whole clusters (10%) adds nuance. Readers who can find the Occidental Ridge should not hesitate, it is fabulous. " (02/2014)

2012 Saxum "Terry Hoage" Paso Robles Rhône Blend
Bid on this bottle of 2012 Saxum "Terry Hoage" Paso Robles Rhône Blend (97RP, 92AG). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Just bottled five weeks ago, the 2012 Terry Hoage Vineyard (330 cases) is a thrilling blend of 51% Syrah, 31% Grenache and 18 % Mourvedre. It has an up front approachable and sexy feel in its cherry blossom and black raspberry fruit, crushed flowers and spice aromas and flavors. Full-bodied, concentrated and with sweet tannin, it’s the most ready-to-go in the lineup, yet will still have 10-12 years of longevity. (JD)" (08/2014)

2013 Aubert "Lauren Vineyard" Sonoma Coast Chardonnay
Bid on this bottle of 2013 Aubert "Lauren Vineyard" Sonoma Coast Chardonnay ((98-100RP), 97AG). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Named after Mark Aubert’s daughter, the 2013 Chardonnay Lauren Estate (1,000 cases produced) is made from Old Wente clones as well as the Mt. Eden clone planted in Goldridge soils. This stony, mineral-laced, crisp yet full-bodied effort comes across as a California version of a Coche-Dury Corton-Charlemagne. Citrus oil, tangerine skin, orange blossom, liquified rock, white flower and quince notes along with great fruit, a full-bodied, stunning texture, and a long finish with no noticeable oak suggest this prodigious Chardonnay will drink well for 10+ years." 2007 Peter Michael "Les Pavots" Knights Valley Bordeaux Blend
Bid on this bottle of 2007 Peter Michael "Les Pavots" Knights Valley Bordeaux Blend (97RP, 95WS, 93JS, 93ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2007 Les Pavots, a Bordeaux varietal blend of 70% Cabernet Sauvignon, 17% Cabernet Franc, 10% Merlot, and 3% Petit Verdot, is brilliant. Its opaque purple color is accompanied by gorgeously complex aromas of melted chocolate, espresso roast, blackberries, and cassis. Full-bodied with a superb texture, a subtle note of oak, and fabulous concentration, it is more reminiscent of a Right Bank Bordeaux than one expects with this much Cabernet Sauvignon in the blend. A thirty-year wine, its impeccable balance and the sweetness of its tannins make it accessible already. (RP)" (02/2010)

Both are brilliant wines and they represent the finest back-to-back vintages for Dominus since 2001 and 2002 or 1990 and 1991. Both the 2007 and 2008 Dominus should drink well for 25-30 years. 2011 Hirsch "San Andreas Fault" Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2011 Hirsch "San Andreas Fault" Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir (94W&S, 92AG, 90BH, 90ST). Wine & Spirits: "This is delicious and utterly transparent coastal juice, electric in its tones of red plum and blood orange. A cedar bark tang gives it gravitas—as if recalling the eons of redwood mulch that built the soil on the uplifted marine sedimentary ridges of the Sonoma Coast. San Andreas—referencing the fault responsible for that uplift—draws on both older vines planted in the early 1990s and newer blocks planted in 2002, painting a picture of the entire Hirsch estate in a given vintage. While some Sonoma vineyards were challenged by rain prior to the 2011 harvest, winemaker Ross Cobb saw Hirsch’s sunny ridges ripen Pinot Noir before the October storms arrived. This feels beautifully formed; its taut delicacy would be irresistible with grilled sea bass. " (08/2014)

Bid on this magnum of 2004 Pride Mountain "Reserve" Sonoma-Napa Counties Cabernet Sauvignon (1.5L) (96RP, 95WE, 94CG, 94ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The two flagship wines of this brilliant estate, which straddles the Sonoma and Napa county lines at the top of Spring Mountain, include the 2004 Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve (98% Cabernet Sauvignon and 2% Petit Verdot). Sixty-eight percent of the fruit comes from Sonoma and 32% from Napa. It exhibits classic notes of creme de cassis, licorice, cedarwood, incense and a hint of toasty oak in the background. Full-bodied, opulent, profound deep, rich and full with velvety edges, the tannin can be detected, but it is wonderfully integrated in this mountain-styled Cabernet. It continues Pride’s impressive track record with these special cuvees. The 2004 Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve can be drunk young or cellared for two decades or more. More nuances and complexity will undoubtedly emerge over the next 4-5 years. (RP)" (04/2014)

Representing an homage to Marcel Guigal’s single vineyard Cote Roties (which are aged 42 months in new oak), 100% whole clusters were used to create this profound Syrah. It boasts an opaque blue/purple color as well as a bouquet of ink, graphite, blackberries, cassis, flowers, and licorice. Incense, smoke, tobacco and melted road tar flow effortlessly from this big, full-bodied wine. There is no shortage of fruit or tannin in this large-scaled, firm Cabernet Sauvignon. Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2002 Staglin Family "20th Anniversary Selection" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (97WE, 95WS, 93RP). Wine Enthusiast: "Starts with an extraordinarily complex, refined aroma, detailed and inviting in cassis, tobacco, anise, cocoa and smoky oak. In the mouth, there’s fantastic depth and complexity. The wine is rich, profound, a star even in its Rutherford stable of thoroughbreds. It has enormous power, with finely ground, sweet tannins. Absolutely gorgeous now, with the stuffing and balance for improvement. Drink now-2017." (12/2005)

2009 Heitz Cellar Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2009 Heitz Cellar Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon. At the risk of being accused of hyperbole, this 2009 vintage is without question the best Heitz Napa bottling I have ever tasted. In assessing a wine we are taught to break a wine down and examine it critically—its structure, its texture, its flavors and aromas. With this wine, though, that seems a kind of sacrilege, an act of vinous vandalism that does no justice to its perfect balance, its seamlessness. This is a wine that is truly greater than the sum of its parts, and can only be appreciated comprehensively. For what it’s worth, however, I did admire its bright acidity and fine tannins, its rich texture, and its generous fruit. But ignore all that. Just take a sip, close your eyes, and enjoy. 2012 Kosta Browne "One Sixteen" Russian River Valley Chardonnay
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2012 Kosta Browne "One Sixteen" Russian River Valley Chardonnay (93RP, 92ST, 91AG, 91WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A gorgeous Chardonnay, the 2012 One Sixteen offers both incredibly classy elegance, as well as building richness and texture. Ripe stone fruits, lemon curd, white flowers, liquid mineral, brioche and toast all emerge from the glass, and this beauty has a medium to full-bodied, elegant, taut and energetic profile on the palate that keeps you coming back to the glass. Staying lively and refreshing, with vibrant acidity, this beauty will age gracefully for over a decade (although bottles would not last that long at my house)." (10/2014)

2009 Captûre Winery "Revelation" Sonoma County Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2009 Captûre Winery "Revelation" Sonoma County Cabernet Sauvignon (95WE, 92ST). Wine Enthusiast: " *Cellar Selection* The winemakers call this their Pauillac-style wine, meaning that its character is marked by Cabernet Sauvignon. It’s a brilliant wine, vastly deep, imposing and elegant, with a potent mountain flavor of black currant. The estate vineyard is very high in the Mayacamas Mountains, and you can sense the small size of the berries in the wines intensity, the sheer concentration, as well as the tannins—which are hard and tight. Clearly this is a wine that requires time in the cellar. Try in 2018, but it could worth aging well beyond that." (09/2012)

2012 Sine Qua Non In the Abstract Proprietary White
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2012 Sine Qua Non In the Abstract Proprietary White (97RP, 94AG). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "In the same league, the 2012 In The Abstract is a classic Sine Qua Non white blend of 37% Chardonnay, 31% Roussanne, 16% Petite Manseng and 16% Viognier. Coming from roughly equal parts Bien Nacido, Cumulus and Eleven Confessions vineyard, it spent just under 19 months in 48% used barrels (1-4 years old), 27% new French oak and the balance in concrete eggs. It sports a slightly darker color than the Chardonnay and offers up incredible notes of caramelized peaches, poached apples, white flowers and crushed rock that flow seamlessly to a full-bodied, decadent, yet classy and graceful feel on the palate. It’s a classic effort that doesn’t pull any punches, yet also never seems hot, heavy or puts a foot wrong. Enjoy this beauty over the coming decade or more. (JD)" (08/2014)

2004 Sine Qua Non "Ode To E" Central Coast Syrah
Bid on this bottle of 2004 Sine Qua Non "Ode To E" Central Coast Syrah (100RP, 96ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2004 Syrah Ode to E (a blend of 94% Syrah, 4% Grenache, and 2% Viognier) will ultimately spend 43 months in oak. (The debut vintage of this long-aged Syrah, the 2001 Heart Chorea, demonstrates that this has become one of the world’s most prodigious Syrahs.) The 2004 Ode to E exhibits extraordinary purity, and beautiful sweet blackberry and cassis notes along with hints of graphite, camphor, and a subtle, but intense meaty character. Unbelievably concentrated, but neither heavy nor overbearing, this exceptional Syrah possesses a phenomenal personality, an amazing seamlessness, and no hard edges. It should be riveting when released and age easily for 12-15+ years." (06/2008)

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2006 Ridge "Monte Bello" Santa Cruz Mountains Cabernet Sauvignon (94RP, 93JS, 93ST, 92W&S). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "...a very strong effort. Its dense purple color is followed by copious aromas of creme de cassis, licorice, spice box, and a touch of oak. Well-balanced, dense, pure, layered, and rich, its big, rich style is similar to the 2003. This cuvee should keep for 25-30 years in a cool cellar." (02/2010)

Like all of these wines, there is a seamless integration of acidity, wood, and tannin, all of it present in subtle and measured dosages. The sweetness of the plum, meaty, black currant fruit intermixed with cherries, boysenberry, forest floor, and floral notes is nothing short of awesome. 2012 Saxum "Paderewski Vineyard" Paso Robles Red Blend
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2012 Saxum "Paderewski Vineyard" Paso Robles Red Blend (96RP, 92AG). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Surprisingly tannic and structured for a wine that’s normally the most approachable and sexy, the 2012 Paderewski Vineyard checks in as a blend of 45% Zinfandel, 36% Mourvedre, 12% Tempranillo and 7% Petite Sirah. It possesses the classic chalky minerality of the vineyard to go with exotic perfumed notes of black raspberry, plums, brambly underbrush and assorted background meatiness. This all flows to a full-bodied, elegant and polished wine that has solid mid-palate depth and chewy, firm tannin on the finish. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Aged 24 months in new French oak, this infant 2007 exhibits an inky/purple color along with notes of graphite, spring flowers and smoky oak. This full-bodied, classic Insignia reveals fabulous depth, ripeness, texture, viscosity and richness. Still young and unformed, it should evolve for 25 or more years. Perhaps I should just go ahead and give this 2007 a three-digit score as it is a profoundly great Cabernet Sauvignon-based effort...one of the top Insignias yet produced. (RP)" (11/2013)

Blackberry, black raspberry, blueberry, and cassis aromas intermixed with notes of crushed rocks, spring flowers, and toasty new oak are found in this beauty.
