2007 Paloma Spring Mountain District Merlot

91 points Connoisseurs Guide: "*Two Stars* Deeply fruited, impressively filled with a very keen sense of dark, well-ripened cherries that indelibly marks it as Merlot, Paloma's latest is an especially well-balanced working that is at once very rich, refined and remarkably polished. It does show a streak of fine-grained finishing tannins, but there is nothing so coarse as to raise any worries, and the wine's fruit eases its way past a bit of last-minute astringency. As good Merlot will, this one might tempt early drinking, but it has a long life before it and should evolve for years to ...Read More »

2007 Joseph Swan "Trenton Estate" Russian River Valley Syrah

90 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Opaque ruby. Black and blue fruits on the nose, complicated by notes of black cardamom and candied violet. Spicy and precise on entry, then fleshier in the mid-palate, offering sweet blackberry and boysenberry flavors lifted by zesty acidity. The smoky, sweet, clinging finish leaves a note of cracked pepper behind." (5/2012)90 points Wine Enthusiast: "This is a notable wine for its smooth, supple tannins and its intense flavors of black cherry jam, mocha, bacon, black pepper and sandalwood. 2007 Justin Paso Robles Cabernet Sauvignon

Justin shows us, yet again, that you don't need a glamorous Napa Valley address to make a concentrated, fruit-filled Cabernet. The 2007 vintage is indicative of this great vintage - spicy cherry, black plum, saddle leather and garrigue aromas create a tantalizing bouquet. In the mouth, the wine layers sultry black fruit, caramel and sweet American oak flavors that linger on the finish. Soft tannins keep this readily approachable.

2007 Mount Eden "Estate" Santa Cruz Mountains Pinot Noir

95 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A completely different animal, the 2007 Pinot Noir Estate reveals a darker ruby color as well as more forest floor/floral character intermixed with sweet black cherry, wild strawberry, and spicy notes. There is no evidence of any oak in this full-bodied Pinot. With silky smooth tannins, impressive richness, and admirable elegance, minerality, and purity, it will be even better in 4-5 years, and should last for 12-15+ years. 2007 Merry Edwards Russian River Valley Pinot Noir

92 points Wine Enthusiast: "Marked by fresh, sleek acidity and firm, dusty tannins, this is a Pinot to stash in the cellar for a while. It’s just too tough and hard now. Give it 4-6 years to soften, and let the black cherries, red currants and cola mesh with the oak and transform with the magic of bottle age." (12/2009)90 points Connoisseurs Guide: "While solidly on the varietal track and showing a good sense of well-ripened cherries as its major theme, this weighty working stands slightly apart from its cellarmates by dint of its accents of roasted walnuts and earth. It is full, fleshy and fairly rounded in feel ...Read More »

2007 Pride Mountain Sonoma County Syrah

92 points Wine Spectator: "Firm, rich and intense, with loamy earth, dried berry, plum, anise and mineral flavors that are taut, full-bodied, complex and concentrated, framed by structured tannins." (2/2010)90 points Wine Enthusiast: "A very rich Syrah, in the Pride style. If it’s not particularly complex or subtle, it more than makes up for it with massive fruit and sheer muscle power. Floods the mouth with ultraripe, briary blackberries, cherries, raspberries, currants, mocha and plenty of black pepper and Indian spice." 2007 Rochioli "Little Hill" Russian River Valley Pinot Noir

Red and dark berry flavors are strikingly pure and precise, with an exotic candied rose quality adding complexity. The finish repeats the mineral and floral notes and is pretty much endless. Wow! This wine is made from a West Block selection and includes some suitcase vines that reportedly came from Richebourg." (5/2009)91 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Medium saturated color. 2007 Peter Michael "Les Pavots" Knights Valley Bordeaux Blend
Bid on this bottle of 2007 Peter Michael "Les Pavots" Knights Valley Bordeaux Blend (97RP, 95WS, 93JS, 93ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2007 Les Pavots, a Bordeaux varietal blend of 70% Cabernet Sauvignon, 17% Cabernet Franc, 10% Merlot, and 3% Petit Verdot, is brilliant. Its opaque purple color is accompanied by gorgeously complex aromas of melted chocolate, espresso roast, blackberries, and cassis. Full-bodied with a superb texture, a subtle note of oak, and fabulous concentration, it is more reminiscent of a Right Bank Bordeaux than one expects with this much Cabernet Sauvignon in the blend. 2007 Mount Eden "Estate" Santa Cruz Mountains Chardonnay

94 points Wine Enthusiast: "This is a big, vital Chardonnay brimming with fresh acids and oak, whose underlying pineapple, pear and lemon-lime flavors are delicious. Despite the richness, it's dry and crisp in acidity, with a minerally tang. Drink now." (2/2011)93 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The Mount Eden 2007 Chardonnay Estate (normal release) comes across as quite lush and fat relative to the Reserve tasted alongside it. Finishes with very good definition and lift." 2007 Williams Selyem "Westside Road Neighbors" Russian River Valley Pinot Noir

95 points Connoisseurs Guide: "*Three stars* The Westside Road Neighbors bottling is traditionally one of our Williams Selyem favorites, and it rises to the head of the class once again in 2007. It leads with the deep and downright succulent aromas of wonderfully pure cherry-like fruit that mark the best of its district, and, even if a little tight in construction, it shows fruity substance to spare and its precise, well-extracted flavors go on and on. Although it is still somewhat closed, it is very long, rich, and promising. 2007 Rochioli "Estate" Russian River Valley Chardonnay

91 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Yellow-gold. Powerfully scented aromas of tangerine, pear, floral honey and minerals. Deep, gently chewy citrus flavors gain weight and depth with air while maintaining clarity. The mineral quality repeats on the finish, which is pure, focused and long. (ST)" (5/2009)90 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "No tasting note given." (2/2010) K&L Notes: No, you don't need to clean your glasses. Yes, this is Rochioli Chardonnay. 2007 Sean Thackrey "Orion" St. Helena Red Blend

98 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The just bottled 2007 Orion is spectacular. 2007 Peay Vineyards "Scallop Shelf" Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir

95 points Wine & Spirits: "Scallop Shelf takes its name from the fossils found in the soil at this old fruit orchard, a vineyard site four miles from the Pacific. It's a blend of six clones, emphasizing the spicy red fruit character of the Pommard clone, which, when it hits on the far Sonoma Coast, makes some of the region's most distinctive pinot noirs. The wine is transparent in color and in its strawberry-like fruit, bright and intense against the smoky conifer minerality of the soil. There's a weave of energy to it, tart and brash as a young wine, growing more focused and refi ...Read More »

2007 Ghost Block Estate "Single Vineyard" Yountville Cabernet Sauvignon

95 points Wine Enthusiast: "A terrific Cabernet you want to cellar for a good 5-6 years, at the very least, and could go far longer. Shows what Yountville can do in a good year. The wine is very dry and more minerally than further north, yet is extraordinarily rich in blackberries, chocolate-covered cherries and cassis, with a perfumed scent of violets. The mouthfeel is all velvet and satin--so pretty and refined." (10/2010)95 points Wine Spectator: "Serves up a delightful mix of ripe dark fruits, with blackberry, black cherry and plum flavors that are supple and polished, with mineral, graphite and cedary oa ...Read More »

2007 Marcassin "Marcassin Vineyard" Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2007 Marcassin "Marcassin Vineyard" Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir (98RP, 96WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: " I had always believed the 2007 Pinot Noir was the finest Helen Turley and John Wetlaufer had produced at their Estate Vineyard, but after doing this vertical and seeing the performances of the 1998, 2002 and 2004, that belief rings somewhat hollow. The still young, incredible 2007 has all the potential needed to achieve a three-digit rating in a few years. A dense plum/purple color is followed by notes of subtle smoke, barbecue spice, blueberries, red and black currants, flowers, and a smoky meat-like character that I first compared to the aroma of Peking duck. There is something exotic about this full-bodied, dense 2007. Young and vibrant, it should hit its peak in 5-6 years, and last until 2030-2035. This world-class, prodigious Pinot Noir is probably better than 90% of the red Burgundies being produced. 98+ (RP)" (06/2014)
