The texture is silky and delicate, but the finish is quite powerful. This is a very stylish wine, and a very good deal thanks to a direct buy from the producer. (Gary Westby, K&L Champagne Buyer)

2009 Dom Pérignon Brut Champagne Top Pick!
2009 Dom Pérignon Brut Champagne

97 points James Suckling: "This is a DP that shows the ripeness of the 2009 vintage yet remains full of energy. Gorgeous aromas of cream, apple, mango, honeysuckle, and chalk follow through to a full body and super fine, tight texture. Dense and agile. Vinous. It’s like a top grand cru white Burgundy. Think Batard-Montrachet. More depth than the 2006." (7/2017) 96 points Decanter: "Unbroken sun through August and early September helped to shape an idyllic harvest, on 12th September. 2012 Louis Roederer Brut Rosé Champagne

95 points James Suckling: "A rich year with low yields and a perfectly warm summer. The nose is all chalky, oyster shell and dried berries. Plenty of powerful wild red fruit. Super focused with a very crisp, linear, acid drive. Pink grapefruit to close. A great vintage for this rosé. Drink now or hold – this has the structure to support some ageing." (10/2017) 94 points Wine Enthusiast: "This mature generous wine is perfectly ready to drink. Its red fruits are now balanced by a toasty character as well as ripe acidity and a touch of tannin. 2010 Launois Blanc de Blancs Brut Champagne

We began importing the Champagnes of Launois more than a decade ago, though we haven't been able to promote them properly because our allocations were very tight. Fortunately for us, Bernard Launois has decided to export more! Champagne Launois' wines are highly sought-after, so much so, in fact, that we've sold their Champagne to Champenois who can't get it at home! Bernard Launois does things differently than the rest of his neighbors, picking a week to 10 days later and using only massal-selected plants rather than the more common clones. All of the C... (ME)" (10/2016) 97 points Jeb Dunnuck: "The 2009 Cristal is a beauty, with incredible richness as well as elegance, which are the hallmarks of this cuvée. Always a rough blend of 60/40 Pinot Noir and Chardonnay from estate vineyards, it has a toasty, yet pure bouquet of stone fruits, rising bread, white flowers, and toasted bread, as well as a terrific sense of chalky minerality. 2006 Veuve Clicquot "La Grande Dame" Brut Champagne

95 points Decanter: "How does Veuve Clicquot’s cellarmaster Dominique Demarville do it? This high wire Prestige Cuvée act walks the tightrope with such confidence and ease. Unusually for the house, the blend is just 53% Pinot Noir and 47% Chardonnay but like every great champagne its ‘ying and yang’ are in perfect symmetry. So we have the volume, structure and depth balanced by the cut and thrust of the acidity. On the palate are layers of cream, honey, nuts, brioche, pear, marzipan and ginger. The wine opens with a deep, clear and fresh as well as intense and complex bouquet of ripe and stewed apples, cinnamon, chalk, grey bread and toast. Full-bodied yet fine, straight, very dry and fresh on the palate (the wine only partly underwent malolactic fermentation), this is a remarkable, pure and elegant Blanc de Blancs that possesses a slightly oxidative style with a very clear and well-structured finish. 2006 Taittinger "Comtes de Champagne" Brut Blanc de Blancs Champagne

A wine of coiled energy, focus, precision and minerality that bores to the very core of the finest chalkfields of the Côte des Blancs." (1/2016) 97 points Vinous: "The 2006 Comtes de Champagne is striking, especially in the way it brings together elements of ripeness and freshness in a hypothetical blend of the 2002 and 2004. The fruit comes from 84% grand cru vineyards and 16% premiers cru vineyards. The wine was barrel fermented before spending over 10 years maturing in the bottle. Vibrant acidity drives the satinlike finish. Drink now through 2030. (AN)" (12/2017) 93 points Decanter: "Perrier Jouët Belle Epoque 2008 reminds me somewhat of the grace of the exceptional 1995, Cellarmaster Hervé Deschamps’ first solo vintage and still one of his best. It is ripe, while keeping an almost austere texture and acidity that will soften and broaden out as it ages. Drink now for the lively red fruits, but better to wait until 2019. (RV)" (12/2016) 91 points Wine Spectator: "There's a smoky underpinning to this delicate, lacy rosé, which offers an aromatic mix of ripe strawberry, white peach, spring blossom and biscotti flavors framed by bright, clean-cut acidity.
