2015 Smithereens (Skinner) El Dorado Red Blend (Previously $20)

Winemaker's Notes: "51% Grenache, 31% Mourvedre, 12% Syrah, 5% Cunoise. The 2015 Red Blend has red fruit aromatics like dark cherry, strawberry preserves, and dried cranberry, while subtle notes wild sage, fennel seed, and dirt road add nuance. The palate is medium bodied with a crunchy dose of minerality, subtle tannins and lingering acidity on the finish."

2015 Hourglass "Blueline Vineyard" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (Previously $120)

94 points Jeb Dunnuck: "The 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon Blueline Estate is more elegant, with a fresh, focused style to go with lots of blue fruits, graphite, cedar, and a hint of tobacco leaf. With a seamless, pure, nicely balanced, full-bodied style, it’s already drinking nicely yet is going to evolve gracefully as well." (12/2017) 92 points Vinous: "The 2015 Cabernet Franc is plush and inviting, with a striking interplay of Franc aromatics and pliant, resonant red-toned fruit. Silky tannins and soft contours give the 2015 much of its immediacy and sheer appeal. A dollop of Malbec rounds out the blen ...Read More »

2016 Zabala Natural Cider Pais Vasco (Previously $10)

Along the northern coast of Spain they grow at least a few dozen varieties of apples: mainly ones that are high in acidity and have varying degrees of bitterness. In other words, they grow apples that are perfect for making cider! Zabala is our first direct import cider from Spain or anywhere for that matter. An award winning Basque sidra, it's crisp and tangy with hardly any effervescence. It is a fantastic tipple, particularly in the autumn, served with anything you can imagine. That said, if we're consuming it how they do in the province of Guipuzkoa,... Read More »

2014 White Rock Napa Valley Claret (Previously $60)

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2014 Claret Proprietary Red Wine, 76% Cabernet Sauvignon, 18% Merlot, 3% Cabernet Franc and 3% Petit Verdot has nice red and blackcurrant fruit, licorice and spice box in an elegant Bordeaux-like style. (RP)" (12/2016) Vinous: "A powerful, intense wine, White Rock's 2014 Red Blend Claret possesses good richness and big tannins that need time to settle. Ripe red cherry, plum, smoke, wild herbs and game lead into the exuberant finish. The 2014 is powerful and also at times rustic, but it is certainly not lacking in personality. 2016 Achaval-Ferrer Cabernet Sauvignon Mendoza (Previously $28)

92 points James Suckling: "Fragrant redcurrants, rose petals, paprika and spice box. Medium to full body, lots of red fruit, firm tannins and a dark-chocolate finish. Drink now." (4/2018) Vinous: "Bright medium red-ruby. Cool aromas of redcurrant, cherry, menthol, licorice and herbs convey an impression of moderate ripeness. Suave and fine-grained but a tad shallow and green for this bottling. Still quite stylish and nicely delineated but falls off a bit on the back end, which features slightly dusty tannins and a repeating herbal note. 2015 Liquid Farm "SRH" Sta. Rita Hills Pinot Noir (Previously $60)

93 points Vinous: "Another gorgeous wine in this range, the 2015 Pinot Noir (Sta. Rita Hills) is pliant, supple and quite expressive. There is a real sense of vertical depth to the fruit that distinguishes the Sta. Rita Hills from the Santa Maria bottling. Fruit sources are Radian and Sanford & Benedict. (AG)" (9/2017) K&L Notes: Winemaker's Notes: "2015 marks our 2nd vintage trying our hand at Pinot. We've been honored to work with Radian Vineyard (in the Sta. Copper & Kings American Small Batch Brandy (750ml) (Previously 35)

Available exclusively at K&L in California, Copper & Kings is going be the next big thing in American microdistillation. Think of them as the St. George or the Anchor Steam of Kentucky. Started in 2014 by Joe and Lesley Heron, the Louisville-based brandy upstart uses three gigantic Vendome copper pot stills to craft a number of different brandy expressions, both from grapes and apples. Those spirits are then blended into an aged solera system of older expressions, created from mature stocks purchased across the country from other pot-distilling brandy pr... Read More »

The complex vinification has worked perfectly: the wine has intense lime juice and lime zest flavours, but even more striking is the opulent juiciness of the mouthfeel before acidity on the finish cleanses the mouth." 96 points Bob Campbell: "The palate is intense and delicate, refined and frisky, with wonderful vitality which is a sheer joy to taste. 2015 Corofin "Cowley Vineyard - Main Slopes" Pinot Noir Marlborough (Previously $30)

Tannins are nicely stated. They hold well." (3/2017) 91 points Wine Spectator: "Offers dense notes of spiced plum, date nut bread and cherry coulis at the core, with a sleek body and fresh acidity. 2007 Teresa Raiz Decano Rosso (Previously $30)

This is a blend of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and a little Cabernet Franc, aged one year in Allier oak barrels. Friuli-Venezia-Giulia, the easternmost region in Italy, lies just east of Venice leaning against the Slovenian and Croatian borders. It is home to many small wineries including one of our favorites, Ermacora. Most of the famous wines produced in Friuli (the everyday usage of Friuli-Venezia-Giulia) are white but over the past couple of decades the quality of reds has jumped considerably.

It is aged 20 months in 80% new French oak. The wine, from a vineyard just off the Silverado Trail, is a delicious fruit-forward, beautiful wine with dusty, loamy soil undertones, red and blackcurrants, licorice and a touch of tobacco leaf. It is deep, full-bodied, opulent and ideal for drinking over the next 15 years. (RP)" (10/2016) 93 points Vinous: "The 2014 Estate Red is a very pretty wine. This wine reminded me of a very good high-elevation Chianti Classico. (ST)" (10/2017) Wine Enthusiast: "This wine's macerated cranberry, raspberry jam and dried orange peel aromas are bright. Spirit Works "K&L Exclusive" Single Barrel #14-0084 Rye Whiskey (750ml) (Previously $55)

The thing that first impressed me about Spirit Works, run by the husband and wife team of Timo and Ashby Marshall out of Sebastopol, is that they make all of their own grain neutral spirit in-house. It's a little known fact that most gin and vodka producers don't actually distill their own base spirits. They purchase it on the bulk market, then redistill it, flavor it, and water it down. Not at Spirit Works, however. Every spirit made by the company starts with the grain, which gets milled, mashed, fermented, and distilled in Sonoma. In the case of their... Read More »
