1996 Elio Altare "Larigi" Langhe
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 1996 Elio Altare "Larigi" Langhe (94VN, 92RP). Vinous: "I have long believed the level of a producer can only be truly understood by looking at the small vintages, and this next set of wines is truly surprising. To be sure, none of the wines of the early 1990s is extraordinary, but they reveal so much about what it means to be a top-level grower. The 1996 Larigi is a rich, weighty Barbera that in many ways seems out of character for a cool vintage that produced so many stern, angular wines, but this is also the first important vintage in which Altare used rotary fermenters, something that is clearly present in the wine's sheer density and concentration. The 1996 Larigi remains fresh and vibrant, with persistent notes of sweetness and French oak that carry through to the finish. (AG)" (05/2009)

2007 Domaine de Marcoux Châteauneuf-du-Pape Vieilles Vignes
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2007 Domaine de Marcoux Châteauneuf-du-Pape Vieilles Vignes (100RP, 96VN, 95WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Pure perfection in a glass, the 2007 Chateauneuf du Pape Vieilles Vignes is up with the tiny handful of truly monumental wines from this hallowed appellation. Deep, concentrated and incredibly balanced, yet packed with character and intensity, its deep ruby/purple color is followed by insanely good notes of black cherries, fruit cake, lavender, garrigue and chocolate. While a blockbuster of a wine, it possesses the telltale elegance, seamlessness and perfume that's the hallmark of this estate and it never puts a foot wrong, with a seamless mid-palate, building, sweet tannin and a great finish. It's a tour de force to drink anytime over the coming decade or more. (JD)" (10/2016)

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2005 M. Chapoutier "Barbe Rac" Châteauneuf-du-Pape (96RP, 95WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The blockbuster 2005 Châteauneuf du Pape Barbe Rac shows classic garrigue notes intermixed with ground pepper, lavender, and sweet black currant and black cherry notes with hints of raspberry and olive. The wine is full-bodied has a boatload of tannin, fabulous concentration, and a finish of close to 50 seconds. This is a brilliant Barbe Rac that should be at its best between 2010 and 2025. 2014 Morlet "La Proportion Dorée" Sonoma County White Blend
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2014 Morlet "La Proportion Dorée" Sonoma County White Blend (100RP, 93VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A perfect wine is the 2014 La Proportion Dorée, a blend of 65% Semillon, 24% Sauvignon Blanc and 1% Muscadelle. This 650-case cuvée is from 29-year-old, dry farmed vines and was barrel-fermented. The wine is absolutely out of this world. With a light greenish gold color and a killer nose of lanolin, caramelized citrus, honeysuckle, orange marmalade and candle wax, the wine displays great acidity, a magnificent, massive, full-bodied mouthfeel, and seems to come across like a Sonoma County version of a dry Haut Brion blanc. This is singular wine - profound, compelling, whatever! It should drink well for at least 10 years, if you can resist its early charms. Drink now through 2026. (RP)" (12/2015)

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2003 Lucien & Andre Brunel "Les Cailloux" Châteauneuf-du-Pape (93JR, 93VN, 92RP). Jancis Robinson: "This Les Cailloux Châteauneuf-du-Pape epitomizes the 2003 vintage and is stacked with huge, meaty and rich kirsch and black cherry fruit, melted licorice, liquefied stems and hot stone aromas on the nose. In the mouth, this is full bodied with incredibly rich fruit, a soft, mouth filling and weighty texture and beautiful length. 2003 haters will probably find something to dislike here but this is a serious, stunning Chateauneu." 2012 Sine Qua Non "Stein" Central Coast Grenache
Bid on this bottle of 2012 Sine Qua Non "Stein" Central Coast Grenache (97RP, (95-97VN)). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Starting with the Grenache release, the 2012 Grenache Stein is a blend of 76% Grenache, 16% Syrah, and 8% Mourvedre, aged in 14% new French oak (15% was in concrete), that comes mostly from the estate's Eleven Confessions Vineyard in the Sta. Rita Hills, but also includes grapes from the Cumulus, Third Twin (Syrah) and Bien Nacido vineyards. Checking in at 15.7% alcohol, it's no lightweight, yet it has considerable elegance in its sweet blackcurrants, white pepper, licorice, baking spices and hints of violet-like aromas and flavors. Possessing the hallmark purity of the estate, it's full-bodied, concentrated, rich and textured, with sweet tannin barely noticeable on the finish. I don't think it's one of the greatest Grenaches from the estate, yet it's still an incredible effort that will benefit from short-term cellaring and have 15-20 years or more of overall longe

2000 Pierre Usseglio "Mon Aïeul" Châteauneuf-du-Pape
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2000 Pierre Usseglio "Mon Aïeul" Châteauneuf-du-Pape (97RP, 93ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "One of the more upfront, downright sexy vintages for this cuvee, the 2000 Chateauneuf du Pape Cuvee de Mon Aieul has been firing on all cylinders for about a decade now. Giving up terrific notes of spice-box, cured meats, garrigue and mature Grenache fruit, this beauty is full-bodied, rich, concentrated and mouth filling, with serious amounts of fruit and texture. Like the '99, it's fully mature, but should hold nicely, although there's no need to delay gratification. In 2000, this incorporated a new parcel of sandy soils from a site just north of Domaine de la Solitude, in the la Crau lieu-dit. This blend was 85% Grenache, the rest Syrah, Cinsault and Mourvedre raised all in foudre. (JD)" (09/2015)

Of the 2003 Patrick et Christophe Bonnefond "Côte Rozier" Côte-Rôtie,Robert Parker's Wine Advocate writes: "From the Cote Brune, the 2003 Cote Rotie Cote Rozier boasts an inky/purple color along with an extraordinary perfume of graphite, bacon fat, melted licorice, creme de cassis, raspberries, and tapenade. Although extremely full-bodied, even huge, with massive concentration, and an unusually intense style, it reveals surprising freshness and definition. Of the 1999 Tardieu-Laurent Châteauneuf-du-Pape,Robert Parker's Wine Advocate writes: "The 1999 Chateauneuf du Pape, which comes from the northwestern sector known as Gres, is a succulent, hedonistic fruit bomb made from primarily Grenache with a bit of Syrah included. Full-bodied, with low acidity, a thick, unctuous texture, high alcohol, and a blast of kirsch liqueur and spice, this multilayered Chateauneuf should drink well when released and last for 15 years. Jammy, baked cherries and apricots make up this stunner's character. The 2004 Rudesheimer Magdalenenkreuz Riesling Spatlese smells of peaches and strawberries and comes to the palate creamy yet with fresh acidity, apply crispness, and subtle saltiness. This exhibits a bit less poise and minerality than the Klosterlay, as befits a deeper-soiled site, but it offers compensatory richness and a similar infectious juiciness. 2003 Reinhard & Beate Knebel Winninger Rottgen Riesling Auslese Mosel (500ml)
Bid on this 5-500 ml-bottle lot of 2003 Reinhard & Beate Knebel Winninger Rottgen Riesling Auslese Mosel (500ml). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "This Auslese takes up where the Knebels' old-vines Rottgen Spatlese left off, offering jellied red fruits and apple, pungent brown spices in a creamy yet light palate impression, and a long, clear, delicate interplay of fruit, nut paste, butter cream and slate in the finish. The impression of tiny, lightly shriveled berries barely tinged with botrytis is conveyed with the utmost subtlety and nobility. In contrast with this Auslese, the Rottgen Auslese A. P. #17, which the Knebels sent to auction, struck me as too obvious and unrefined in its honeyed and pungently smoky botrytis character. 2 stars. (DS)" (01/2005)

1988 Domaine Daniel Rion Clos Vougeot Grand Cru
Bid on this bottle of 1988 Domaine Daniel Rion Clos Vougeot Grand Cru (92WS). Wine Spectator: "Young and intense, with tightly compact fruit. The cassis, blackberry, currant and spice flavors are so tightly wound that it may take another five to seven years to reach maturity. Start drinking in 1996 to '98, but even then it may be too young. " (01/1991)

1997-1998 Italian Red Tasting Lot
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 1997-1998 Italian Red Tasting Lot, including 1-bottle of 1997 Poggio Antico Brunello di Montalcino (94JS, 93WS, 90ST, 90VN) and 1-bottle of 1998 Castello dei Rampolla "Sammarco" Toscana (95VN, 91ST, 90RP, 90WS). Of the 1998 Castello dei Rampolla "Sammarco" Toscana,Vinous writes: "The 1998 Sammarco is a real treat to taste today. Although not the biggest nor most explosive Sammarco, the 1998 makes its case with superb balance. The tannins have begun to soften, making the 1998 a good choice for drinking now and over the next 10-15 years. Sweet red plum, tobacco and exotic spices add the final shades of nuance. There aren't too many more complete or expressive Sammarcos for present drinking than the 1998. (AG)" (10/2015)

2009 Domaine Niellon Chevalier-Montrachet Grand Cru
Bid on this bottle of 2009 Domaine Niellon Chevalier-Montrachet Grand Cru (94BH, 93ST, 93WS, 92RP). Allen Meadows - Burghound: "Here mild reduction doesn't materially diminish the appeal of the more elegant if ever-so-slightly less complex aromas that feature notes of stone, lemon zest, acacia blossom and spiced pear. There is superb intensity and simply gorgeous detail to the mineral-driven and impeccably well-balanced flavors and explosive finale. Still, as good as this is and it is indeed exceptional, the superior complexity of the Bâtard gives it the barest of edges in 2009. *Don't miss!* " (02/2011)

Bid on this bottle of 1990 Cos d'Estournel, St-Estèphe (94RP, 92JS, 92ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Not as concentrated as the 1982, or as most of the vintages made since 2001, the 1990 Cos has reached full maturity. It exhibits sweet berry fruit intermixed with spice box, herbs, and spring flowers. (RP)" (06/2009)

1997 Pahlmeyer Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend
Bid on this bottle of 1997 Pahlmeyer Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (98RP, 94ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The finest proprietary red produced by Pahlmeyer to date is their 1997 (a blend of 72% Cabernet Sauvignon, 17% Merlot, and the rest Petit-Verdot, Cabernet Franc, and Malbec). Production is 3,300 cases, and the wine tips the scales at 14.7% alcohol. A super-rich, blockbuster effort, it exhibits an opaque purple color in addition to a fabulous bouquet of black fruits, espresso, cocoa, mocha, and flowers. A prodigious red, with low acidity, spectacular concentration, and fabulous purity as well as overall symmetry, it can be drunk now, but promises to last for 20-25 years. (RP)" (12/2000)

1990 Mouton-Rothschild, Pauillac
Bid on this bottle of 1990 Mouton-Rothschild, Pauillac (94ST). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Bright red with a pale rim. Knockout nose of aromatic herbs, strawberry, sweet spices and acacia flower; yet another wine strongly marked by its Cabernet Franc presence. Fresh and vibrant, this absolutely dances on the palate with strawberry, sour red cherry and raspberry flavors complicated by gunflint and herbs. High acidity provides great clarity and cut to the long, floral, smoothly tannic finish. This has improved considerably with bottle age. Harvested from September 18 through October 3, this Mouton offers amazing balance and fragrance. In 1990 Mouton was still using a heavy toast for its barriques, which resulted in a smoky quality in the wines that was considered by many to be just as typical of Mouton as its opulence. 1997 Robert Mondavi "To Kalon Reserve" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this bottle of 1997 Robert Mondavi "To Kalon Reserve" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (94RP, 94ST, 92WE). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 1997 Cabernet Sauvignon To-Kalon Reserve, made from 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, is a brilliant Cabernet Sauvignon that has a dark ruby/purple color, a gorgeously broad, complex nose of cedar, black fruits, new saddle leather, and mineral. In the mouth, it is full-bodied, showing slightly higher tannin and austerity than it did last year, but there is no doubt this wine has depth, multiple layers of flavor, an expansive texture, and a long, reassuring, concentrated finish. It needs 4-5 years of cellaring, and should age for at least 30+ years. (RP)" (12/2000)

1991 Shafer "Hillside Select" Stags Leap District Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this bottle of 1991 Shafer "Hillside Select" Stags Leap District Cabernet Sauvignon (96RP, 93CG, 93VN, 93WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 1991 Shafer Cabernet Sauvignon Hillside Select represents the beginning of a new era where sterile filtration was halted, after which the quality of most vintages soared to new heights. They may also have been picking riper fruit, as Napa Valley was in the midst of enjoying some fabulous vintages in what would turn out to be a Golden Era for its wineries. The 1991 is the finest Hillside Select of the early 1990s, although the 1992, 1994, 1995, 1997 and 1998 are close in quality. A stunning nose of licorice, vanillin, unsmoked cigar tobacco, crème de cassis and cedarwood are present in this multilayered, full-bodied, opulent, super-concentrated wine. It still possesses an opaque ruby/purple color to the rim. At age 23, this beauty is just hitting its plateau of full maturity. (RP)" (12/2014)

2013 Caymus Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (1L)
Bid on this bottle of 2013 Caymus Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (1L) (94RP, 92WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A beautiful ripe, plump, fat and opulent style of Cabernet Sauvignon that Caymus has pioneered, the 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon has a dense purple color, loads of juicy blackberry and blackcurrant fruit, low acidity and no real evidence of oak, but a nice, plush, full-bodied opulence. This is irresistible, especially for a Cabernet Sauvignon coming in at 14.9% natural alcohol. Drink it over the next decade or more. (RP)" (12/2015)

Bid on this magnum of 1990 Joseph Phelps "Insignia" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (1.5L) (91RP, 90WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 1990 Insignia still possesses a healthy dark ruby/purple-tinged color that is just beginning to lighten at the edge. Lots of licorice, black currant, Chinese black tea, cedarwood and spice jump from the glass of this wine. It possesses lovely fruit, medium body and an elegant, pure, expressive mid-palate as well as finish. While fully mature, it should continue to drink well for 10-15 years. (RP)" (11/2013)

2014 Colgin "IX Estate" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (OWC)
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2014 Colgin "IX Estate" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (OWC - 98JS, 98RP, 97VN, 93WS) in original wood. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "From their steep hillside vineyards on Pritchard Hill, the 2014 Proprietary Red IX Estate is an old-fashioned Médoc blend dominated by Cabernet Sauvignon, but with some Cabernet Franc (rarely seen in the Médoc these years) as well as Merlot and Petit Verdot. Striking aromatics of violets, forest floor, loamy soil nuances, blueberry, black raspberry and blackberry soar from the glass of this spectacular 2014. The acidity seems reasonable but on the lower side, the texture is magnificent, and the overall purity and equilibrium flawless. This is a wine pushing, even demanding, a three-digit score once again, but I’m holding back – at least for now. This magnificent effort from Colgin should drink beautifully for 25-30 years.
