2005 Domaine Michel Gros Nuits St. Georges 1er Cru
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2005 Domaine Michel Gros Nuits St. Georges 1er Cru ((91-93BH)). Allen Meadows - Burghound: "A deeper and much earthier nose that runs to game and underbrush as well as ripe red and dark berry fruit aromas trimmed in a bit of wood toast gives way to rich, sweet and mouth coating flavors that possess plenty of muscle and real volume on the textured and sappy finish that is impressively concentrated and wonderfully long. There is ample structure here as well though it's largely buffered by all of the mid-palate extract and I particularly like the depth. Recommended." (01/2007)

2004 Pintia (Vega Sicilia) Toro
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2004 Pintia (Vega Sicilia) Toro (94RP, 93ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "There is an air of confidence about the bouquet on the 2004 Pintia, with scents of dark cherry, Indian ink, wild strawberry and a touch of raspberry preserve, all with fine delineation. The palate is medium-bodied with a sweet core of red berry fruit. The tannins are strong and quite robust, although it is counterbalanced by plenty of fresh red fruit mingling with dried herbs, white pepper and a touch of sage. There is a touch of astringency on the finish, but otherwise this powerful Pintia should age over several more years. (NM)" (04/2013)

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Consultants Nicolas Thienpont and Stephane Derenoncourt have produced a beautiful St.-Emilion that tastes like the quintessence of crushed rocks intermixed with blueberry, blackberry, black raspberry, licorice, camphor and truffle notes. This full-bodied effort should drink well in 4-5 years, and last for two decades or more. It achieved 14.5% natural alcohol. (RP) 94+" (05/2011)

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2014 Melbury is profoundly scented of crushed plums, black cherries and cassis with hints of dark chocolate, black pepper, black soil and licorice plus a hint of iron ore. Full-bodied, rich and earthy in the mouth, it has a lovely fine-grained but firm backbone with plenty of freshness, finishing long and peppery. (LPB) 96+" (10/2017)

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2003 Terreus is sourced from a single vineyard and produced only in top vintages. Purple/black in color, it offers a superb perfume of smoky oak, pencil lead, mineral, spice box, black cherry, and blackberry liqueur. Opulent, thick, and layered, it has gobs of spicy, ripe black fruits, and licorice and espresso notes which emerge on the palate. The wine is beautifully balanced and very lengthy. 2014 Schrader "Beckstoffer Georges III" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2014 Schrader "Beckstoffer Georges III" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (97JS, (95-97RP), 92WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "I’ll keep my notes short, since I’ll be tasting this wines from bottle next year, but the 2014s from Schrader are among the highlights of this vintage, which is certainly an excellent one in Napa, but destined to be lost in the massive shadows cast by 2012 and 2013. The Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer George III Vineyard should ultimately score in the mid-90s, with the potential that it may reach the upper 90s. The wine comes in at about 14.4% to 14.5% natural alcohol. It looks to be a super-duper vintage for Schrader. (RP)" (10/2015)

2001 Spottswoode "Estate" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (1.5L)
Bid on this magnum of 2001 Spottswoode "Estate" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (1.5L) (98RP, 94WE, 93ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Production fell back to about 4,300 cases in 2001, which was a fabulous growing season in Napa Valley and from the get-go heralded as a profound vintage. Certainly Spottswoode hit all cylinders with its blend of 95% Cabernet Sauvignon and 5% Cabernet Franc, and the first in a series of wines from them that eclipsed 14% alcohol (this one is 14.1%). Still dense purple to the rim, the wine is a young adolescent, with beautiful floral notes intermixed with deep crème de cassis, blackberry and blueberry Hints of licorice and graphite also present in this full-bodied, multilayered, magnificent and majestic Cabernet Sauvignon that is shaping up to be a great classic. There is at least 25-30 years of tasty longevity left in this large-scale Spottswoode that still seems to have a vague resemblance to Château Margaux. Bravo! (RP) 98+" (08/2016)

1996 Lafite-Rothschild, Pauillac (375ml)
Bid on this half-bottle lot of 1996 Lafite-Rothschild, Pauillac (375ml) (100RP, 97VN, 96ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Tasted three times since bottling, the 1996 Lafite-Rothschild is unquestionably this renowned estate's greatest wine. As I indicated last year, only 38% of the crop was deemed grand enough to be put into the final blend, which is atypically high in Cabernet Sauvignon (83% Cabernet Sauvignon, 7% Cabernet Franc, 7% Merlot, and 3% Petit Verdot). This massive wine may be the biggest, largest-scaled Lafite I have ever tasted. It will require many years to come around, so I suspect all of us past the age of fifty might want to give serious consideration as to whether we should be laying away multiple cases of this wine. It is also the first Lafite-Rothschild to be put into a new engraved bottle (designed to prevent fraudulent imitations). The wine exhibits a thick-looking, ruby/purple color, and a knock-out nose of lead pencil, minerals, flowers, and black currant scen

1976 Heitz Cellar "Martha's Vineyard" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this bottle of 1976 Heitz Cellar "Martha's Vineyard" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (95JG, 92RP). John Gilman: "In the drought years of 1976 and 1977, the Heitz wines that I have tasted are some of the most brilliant examples to be found, and this is certainly true of the ’76 Martha’s Vineyard. This was the first time that I can recall tasting the 1976 and it is a beautiful bottle of wine that is now at its apogee. The deep and utterly brilliant nose soars from the glass in a complex and pure blend of cherries, blood orange, woodsmoke, mint, a touch of coffee, nutskins, cigar smoke and a wonderfully complex base of soil. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied and beautifully transparent, with superb delineation and balance, fine mid-palate depth, melting tannins and stunning length and grip on the dancing finish. A great bottle that shows no signs of the more 'roasted' character evident in most Cabernets from this torrid vintage. (Drink between 2011-2030)" (06/2011)

1974 Mayacamas "Napa Mountain" Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this bottle of 1974 Mayacamas "Napa Mountain" Cabernet Sauvignon (97JG, 95VN, 90RP). John Gilman: "The 1974 Mayacamas Cabernet in magnum is still a tad on the young side and really deserves a bit more bottle age before it reaches its apogee of peak maturity in this sized format. The brilliant nose offers up a smorgasbord of black cherries, cigar smoke, a bit of road tar, a beautifully complex base of volcanic soil tones, hints of both mint and petroleum jelly and a pungent topnote of violets. On the palate the wine is deep, pure, full-bodied and rock solid at the core, with moderate tannins, outstanding complexity and grip, perfect balance and stunning length and grip on the still vibrant and palate-staining finish. I dearly hope that the new regime at Mayacamas will take note of wines such as this brilliant 1974 and not change too much at this iconic estate! (Drink between 2012-2040)" (01/2014)

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A fabulous wine, and one of the two greatest Talbots of the last 50 years, this wine still has a very murky garnet/plum/purple color and a spectacular nose of sweet creme de cassis intermixed with freshly ground pepper, melted road tar, herbes de Provence, and beef blood. It is followed by an enormously concentrated wine of full body, layers of concentration and sweet tannin. The wine seems to be just hitting its plateau of maturity, where it should last for at least 10-15 more years. A prodigious Talbot. Anticipated maturity: Now-2020. Last tasted, 6/02." 1986 Cos d'Estournel, St-Estèphe
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 1986 Cos d'Estournel, St-Estèphe (92RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Tasted at the property, the 1986 Cos d'Estournel, which was aged in 90% new oak and is a blend of 68% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot and 2% Cabernet Franc, is a vintage that I had not tasted for a number of years. It has a healthy color, quite deep with just a thin bricking on the rim. The nose is quite intense, quite voluptuous for a 1986, perhaps blind I might have mistaken it for a 1985. Red plum, licorice and graphite, there is something rounded and sensual about this 1986—although it does not have the complexity of the greatest vintages of Cos d'Estournel. The palate is medium-bodied with grainy tannin, savory and almost meaty on the mouth, nicely balanced and then...BAM! There's a real spicy, black pepper kick on the finish originating from the Cabernet Sauvignon. It does not possess the structure or persistence of the greatest 1986s, rather a Claret that I know would just shine a

1976 Schloss Eltz Eltviller Sonnenberg Trockenbeerenauslese
Bid on this bottle of 1976 Schloss Eltz Eltviller Sonnenberg Trockenbeerenauslese. One of the most preeminent names in German wine post-WWII through the 1970s, the Eltz family owned some of the most famed and prized vineyard sites along the Mosel and Rhein rivers, as well as the famed castles Burg Eltz and Eltzerhof. Along with contemporaries Schloss Johannisberg and Schloss Vollrads, Schloss Eltz was one of the most widely acclaimed producers from Rheingau during this period. The Eltville Sonnenberg site, with its loamy-loess soils and slopes of anywhere from 10-37% grade, is just upriver from the epicenters of the Rheingau - Erbach, Hattenheim and Johannisberg. This TBA is one of the more classic examples of the longevity potential of this category of Riesling wine.

This blend of 95% Cabernet Sauvignon and 5% Cabernet Franc is a gorgeous example of the Private Reserve. Of course, it probably suffers from the fact that Beringer is part of a gigantic international conglomerate, but this is just a stunning wine – inky purple, with plenty of cassis, a hint of espresso, subtle background oak and forest notes. The color is opaque and the wine full-bodied and opulent, with sweet tannin and a multilayered mouthfeel. 2002 Blankiet "Paradise Hills Vineyard" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2002 Blankiet "Paradise Hills Vineyard" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (98RP, 94VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The powerhouse 2002 Cabernet Sauvignon Paradise Hills Vineyard offers notes of wood smoke, melted licorice, cedar, and black currants in a firm, dense, full-bodied, tannic, backward, ripe, intense style. It has loads of tannin to shed, but the requisite concentration is there for balance. Nevertheless, this 2002 will require 6-7 years of cellaring. It should easily age for 20-25 years. 2008 Quilceda Creek Columbia Valley Bordeaux Blend
Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2008 Quilceda Creek Columbia Valley Bordeaux Blend (92RP, 90VN, 90WE). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The Quilceda Creek lineup begins with the 2008 Red Wine made up of 81% Cabernet Sauvignon, 13% Merlot, with the balance Cabernet Franc and Malbec. Aromas of cedar, spice box, mineral, incense, black currant, and blackberry inform the nose of a ripe, savory, smooth-textured wine. In the glass it displays more minerality, excellent volume, and enough structure to evolve for 1-2 years. Enjoy this first-class effort now through 2020. (JSM)" (08/2011)

2005 Sine Qua Non "Atlantis Fe203-1a,b,c" Syrah
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2005 Sine Qua Non "Atlantis Fe203-1a,b,c" Syrah (100RP, (94-95VN), 92WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The perfect 2005 Syrah Atlantis Fe 203-1a,b,c is a blend of 93% Syrah, 5% Grenache, and 2% Viognier, with 25% whole clusters... An extraordinarily flowery nose interwoven with scents of blueberries, blackberries, incense, and graphite soars from the glass. Although not the biggest or most concentrated Syrah Krankl has made, it is one of the most nuanced, elegant, and complex. It remains full-bodied, but builds incrementally on the palate, and comes across as elegant and delicate, especially when compared to many California Syrahs. Nevertheless, the intensity is mind-boggling, and the finish lasts for nearly a minute. (RP)" (06/2008)

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2005 Calon-Ségur, St-Estèphe (94RP, 93JS, 93WS, 92VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Tasted from an ex-château bottle at BI Wine & Spirits Calon-Segur dinner in London, the 2005 Calon Segur is on par with the wonderful 2000. The only real difference is that this needs more time in bottle. It has a captivating nose: blackberry and boysenberry fruit coming at you at full pelt; dried blood and bacon fat developing as secondary aromas just behind. There is fine delineation here - an underlying mineralité sure to surface with time. The palate is very intense and disarmingly youthful, almost ferrous on the entry with layers of ripe black fruit that segue into an earthy finish (with a curious light tang of Marmite on the aftertaste!). 2005 Clos des Papes Châteauneuf-du-Pape
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2005 Clos des Papes Châteauneuf-du-Pape (98WS, 96JD, 95ST, 94RP). Wine Spectator: "Really tight now, but packed with dark fig, currant, espresso, licorice and chocolate notes. Superfleshy but seriously structured, there's layer after layer of sweet spice, fruit and minerality pumping through the finish, with lots of latent depth and power. Far more backward than the 2003 or 2004 on release, but since this red typically puts on weight as it ages, it should be a monster--à la the 1990--when it reaches its peak. Best from 2009 through 2030. *Ranked #1 of Top 100 Wines of 2007, Collectibles* (JM)" (12/2007)

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2009 Vérité "Le Désir" Sonoma County Bordeaux Blend (96ST, 93RP). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Deep ruby-red. Vibrant nose offers cassis, blackberry, licorice, minerals, tobacco leaf and violet. Rich, tactile and deep, offering outstanding energy for the vintage. Boasts a rare combination of explosive fruit intensity and elegance. Builds and echoes dramatically on the vibrant, nuanced finish, which saturates the palate with dark fruits and minerals. This shut down in the glass but my recorked bottle showed uncanny freshness after three days in the refrigerator. (ST)" (05/2016)

2008 Ridge Vineyards "Monte Bello" Santa Cruz Mountains Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2008 Ridge Vineyards "Monte Bello" Santa Cruz Mountains Cabernet Sauvignon (97RP, 95JS, 95ST, 95W&S). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2008 Monte Bello is striking. It is a decidedly muscular Monte Bello endowed with layers of dark fruit. Tobacco, mint, asphalt and crushed rocks develop in the glass, adding tons of complexity and finesse. A long, saline finish rounds things out beautifully. In 2008 the cold growing season stretched into October and the wine definitely has the feel of a cool vintage. The spring frost and the second year of drought conditions lowered yields significantly. Yields were just 1.25 tons per acre on average, but some of the older vineyards came in at less than 1 ton per acre. The balance of fruit, tannin and structure is simply extraordinary, but the wine needs time, most likely lots of it. In 2008 the blend is 72% Cabernet Sauvignon and 28% Merlot. Anticipated maturity: 2018-2038. 97+ (AG) " (08/2011)

Of the 2007 Merry Edwards "Meredith Estate" Russian River Valley Pinot Noir,Wine Enthusiast writes: "A splendid, near-perfect Pinot, although it’s very young and will benefit from time in the bottle. Few Pinots offer richer, more massive flavors. Just explodes on the palate with raspberries, cherries, persimmons, Dr. Pepper cola, mocha and cinnamon spices, yet the tannin-acid structure keeps it all balanced. Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2009 Kistler "Dutton Ranch" Russian River Valley Chardonnay (96RP, 93ST, 93WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2009 Chardonnay Dutton Ranch fleshes out beautifully on the mid-palate with layers of expressive, radiant fruit. The wine finds its minerality and center on the mid-palate. Apricots, pears, flowers and subtle, darker hints of earthiness come to life on the finish. Of the 2013 Domaine Leflaive Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru "Combettes",Robert Parker's Wine Advocate writes: "The 2013 Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Combettes might well be the most startling wine from Anne-Claude and her team this year, one that probably transcends this propitious vineyard. It has an expressive set of aromatics like the Folatières, a little more 'fiery' at this stage perhaps, vivacious and defined with hints of lemon curd and white peach. 2003 Bodegas Alto Moncayo Garnacha Campo de Borja
Bid on this bottle of 2003 Bodegas Alto Moncayo Garnacha Campo de Borja (93RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "I tend to drink Alto Moncayo during its first 5-6 years of life. Although I was sure they had aging potential, I did not realize just how much longevity these wines possess. They are generally full-bodied, powerful (with at least 15.5% natural alcohol), concentrated, rich wines made from very old vines and tiny yields. If you are not into flavor concentration or care about artisanal wines from great terroirs that have been ignored for centuries, this may not be the wine for you. Not one of these ten vintages was close to full maturity. The 2003 coming from Jorge Ordonez told me was probably the worst vintage in the area because of the appalling heat wave and stress the vines had to endure. (RP)" (11/2013)

1994 Dunn Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 1994 Dunn Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (94CG, 94RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 1994s might be ready to drink within 10-15 years. It is hard to believe these wines spend 30 months in oak casks before bottling as they are incredibly unevolved and backward when released. The 1994 Cabernet Sauvignon Napa reveals an opaque purple color, followed by a sweet, rich, black currant and creme de cassis-scented nose with no evidence of oak. This fruit bomb displays considerable breadth and expansiveness on the palate, in essence revealing only two dimensions - fruit and tannin. It is slightly softer and more precocious than the 1995 and 1996, so perhaps it will only need 10, rather than 15 years of cellaring. This immensely impressive Cabernet is a candidate for 20-30 years of cellaring. One of the issues about which Randy Dunn is sensitive is the fact that his wines are so remarkably consistent that it is often difficult to tell vintages apart. I think the

The fruit is sweet, and the breadth of the palate, gorgeous texture, and full-bodied mouthfeel are all classic.
