2007 Domaine Yvon Clerget Volnay 1er Cru "Clos du Verseuil"
Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 2007 Domaine Yvon Clerget Volnay 1er Cru "Clos du Verseuil". Allen Meadows writes: "Yvon Clerget directs this 6 ha domaine and has since 1975. He is a partisan of old vines and long élevage and in some years he makes two different cuvées of some wines because he separates out the younger vines from the older vines and then sells this wine to a négoce. M. Clerget's approach to vinification is to destem 100%, use only natural yeasts, no cold maceration with a 12 day or so cuvaison. He says new oak averages 25% but in some vintages he uses much less. He normally prefers an élevage of approximately 20 months and fines or filters only if absolutely necessary. In short, he believes the less he does in the vinification process, the better the wines will be."

1993 Domaine Faiveley Chambertin-Clos des Beze Grand Cru
Bid on this bottle of 1993 Domaine Faiveley Chambertin-Clos des Beze Grand Cru (92BH, 91WS). Allen Meadows - Burghound: "A spicy, earthy and still quite primary nose of red and black pinot fruit introduce complex, edgy and powerful full-bodied flavors that offer impressive precision and depth on the long and wonderfully persistent finish. This will require at least 8 to 10 years to be at its best but the underlying potential is undoubtedly there." (11/2005)

Juicy and dynamic, with ripe acidity contributing to the impression of inner-mouth tension. Finishes full and long but youthfully tight, with a lingering spiciness and firm structure. Bid on this bottle of 2013 Domaine du Comte Liger-Belair Nuits-St-Georges 1er Cru "Aux Cras" (91BH). Allen Meadows - Burghound: "A restrained, ultra-fresh and beautifully well-layered nose features notes of spice, plum, earth and dark currant aromas. Here too there is really lovely intensity and drive to the medium-bodied flavors that exude a fine bead of minerality on the tension-filled, saline, youthfully austere and attractively long finish. This is less refined than the Petits Monts as the natural robust muscularity of Nuits is in evidence but it stops short of outright rusticity." (01/2016)

The voluptuous, rounded, soft and sexy fruit slinks across the palate with incredible seamlessness and expression. Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2014 Next of Kyn (Sine Qua Non) "Cumulus Vineyard No. 8" Central Coast Red Blend (99JD, 98RP, 95VN). Jeb Dunnuck: "Bottled in May of this year, the 2014 Cumulus Vineyard No 8 is a match for the sensational 2013. Made from 38% Syrah, 33% Grenache, 16% Touriga Nacional and the balance Mourvèdre and Petite Sirah, fermented with 43% whole clusters and aged in close to equal parts new and used French oak. There’s only 400 cases of this elixir and it offers killer notes of black raspberries, blueberries, violets, licorice, exotic spices and flowers. Perfumed, complex and nuanced, and dare I say, singular, this full-bodied red has a thick, opulent texture, beautiful freshness and sweet tannin on the finish. While it shows the 2014 vintage’s forward fruit characteristic, this puppy has backbone and length. Drink it anytime over the coming two decades." (08/2017)

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Tasted out of barrel at the Domaine. The Gevrey Chambertin Village is a little reticent on the nose at first, touches bergamot inflecting the crisp dark cherry fruit, touches of limestone beginning to show through. The palate is fresh and lively on the entry, very good acidity with a sorbet-like freshness. Dark cherry, a touch of cassis and blueberry, firm backbone line the filigree finish. Excellent. 1982 Mouton-Rothschild, Pauillac
Bid on this bottle of 1982 Mouton-Rothschild, Pauillac (100JS, 100RP, 98ST, 98WS, 97DC). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "This wine remains one of the legends of Bordeaux. It has thrown off the backward, youthful style that existed during its first 25 years of life, and over the last 4-5 years has developed such secondary nuances as cedar and spice box. The creme de cassis, underlying floral note, full-bodied power, extraordinary purity, multilayered texture, and finish of over a minute are a showcase for what this Chateau accomplished in 1982. The wine is still amazingly youthful, vibrant, and pure. It appears capable of remaining fruity and vibrant in 2082! Thank God it is beginning to budge, as I would like to drink most of my supply before I kick the bucket. This is a great, still youthful wine, and, on occasion, one does understand the hierarchy of Bordeaux chateaux when you see the complexity and brilliance of this first-growth. This opulent, full-bodied, sexy, full-throttle Insignia is drinking beautifully. As the wine sits in the glass, mature aromas of black tea and charcuterie begin to emerge. 1992 Dunn Howell Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 1992 Dunn Howell Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon (97RP, 97VN, 95ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "What makes the 1992 California Cabernet Sauvignon vintage so incredible is that one of its hallmarks is the voluptuous, opulent, and succulent nature of the fruit. In Dunn's offerings, that translates into wines that are massive and rich, but with sweeter, more expansive, chewy mid-palates. Both of these Cabernets are 20-30 year wines, but I suspect the softer Napa cuvee will be drinkable in 5-7 years. (RP)" (10/1995)

2002 Shafer "Hillside Select" Stags Leap District Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2002 Shafer "Hillside Select" Stags Leap District Cabernet Sauvignon (100RP, 97WE, 97WS, 95W&S, 94VN, 93CG). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "In contrast to the more linear, structured, but massive 2001, the 2002 Shafer Cabernet Sauvignon Hillside Select is pure fruit-bomb material, but stunningly proportioned, beautifully pure, with notes of melted chocolate, blackcurrant jam, sweet black cherries, licorice, camphor and charcoal. Very full-bodied, like the 2001, but much more lavishly fruited, it is more accessible and hedonistically, as well as intellectually, satisfying. If the 2001 is the long-distance runner, this comes across more like a middle-distancer. It had performed fabulously well since it was released by the winery, and even though it’s still an adolescent in terms of its evolution, this wine is a head-turner in wine tastings, and a spectacular effort from Napa. Drink now or drink in 20-25 years. (RP)" (12/2014)

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2000 Léoville-Poyferré, St-Julien (97JD, 97RP, 95WS, 93JS, 91W&S). Opulent, savory, rich, and full-bodied, it is a head-turning, prodigious wine and a complete contrast to the extracted behemoth of Leoville Barton and the backward, classic Leoville Las Cases. 2003 Montrose, St-Estèphe
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2003 Montrose, St-Estèphe (98RP, 97JS, 96VN, 95WE, 95WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2003 Montrose was served blind in Bordeaux on two occasions. Picked between 11 to 26 September, it is a blend of 62% Cabernet Sauvignon, 34% Merlot, 3% Cabernet Franc and 1% Petit Verdot. It remains one of the outstanding wines of a very black and white vintage. Without knowledge of the vintage, I was hesitant to suggest 2003, because though there is clearly fruit intensity locked up inside this Saint Estèphe, it is counterbalanced by the estate's trademark masculinity and austerity. So both on the nose and the palate it reaches this happy medium: pure blackberry, graphite and roasted herbs on the nose, perhaps even more elegant than I have observed on previous bottles. The palate is medium-bodied rather than full bodied with sturdy tannins couched in layers of seamless blackberry and cassis fruit, offset by scents of tobacco and graphite. As usual it has immense le

Juicy dark berry aromas with hints of sultana raisins and sweet tobacco. Extremely ripe and sweet, with dense blackberry and plum flavors accented by tobacco and smoky herbs. I commented that it reminded me of Cornas, to which Jean-Paul laughed and replied "maybe even further south than that!" Finishes with intense notes of dark cherry, bitter chocolate and espresso. A seriously outsized heavyweight of a Cote-Rotie." (02/2006)

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2004 Tenuta dell'Ornellaia "Ornellaia" Bolgheri Superiore (98WE, 97JS, 97WS, 95RP, 93W&S). Wine Enthusiast: "This is a hopelessly gorgeous wine with so much energy, intensity, density and good cheer. The superb ensemble—Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot—delivers chocolate fudge, ripe cherry, rhubarb, cola, tobacco and cedar wood. It’s tight and supple, with seamless harmony and excellent succulence on the finish. But it’s that incredible intensity that truly sets this wine apart. *Cellar Selection*" (04/2008)

2011 Harlan "The Maiden" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (OWC)
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2011 Harlan "The Maiden" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (OWC - 91RP, 91ST, 91VN) in original wood. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The Maiden is fashioned from barrels not deemed rich or complex enough for the Harlan Estate (a true first-growth wine). The supple, delicious, fruit-forward 2011 The Maiden exhibits lots of sweet black cherries intermixed with hints of caramel and vanillin, an attractive, medium to full-bodied texture and good opulence as well as softness. It is on a fast evolutionary track, so enjoy it now and over the next 10+ years. (RP)" (10/2014)

2007 Domaine de Cristia Châteauneuf-du-Pape Vieilles Vignes
Bid on this 5-bottle lot of 2007 Domaine de Cristia Châteauneuf-du-Pape Vieilles Vignes (98JD, 98RP, 96WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The greatest wine from this estate to date is unquestionably their 2007 Chateauneuf du Pape Vieilles Vignes. Made from 100% old-vine Grenache that was brought up in a combination of different sized barrels, some of which were new, it offers an incredible bouquet of black raspberries, caramelized cherries, violets, garrigue and lavender. Full-bodied, massively concentrated, voluptuous and decadent, yet always light on its feet, pure and elegant, this is a profound example of old-vine Grenache that should make any Southern Rhone-lover's eyes roll back in their head. It's still an infant and will drink nicely for another 15-20 years. (JD)" (09/2015)

2001 Cheval Blanc, St-Emilion
Bid on this bottle of 2001 Cheval Blanc, St-Emilion (95JS, 95W&S, 93RP, 93WS, 92ST). James Suckling: "I have always believed in the 2001 Cheval Blanc. It may even be better than the more highly thought of 2000 and it's certainly much less expensive. It sells for about $550 a bottle compared to $1000 a bottle for the 2000. I drank it recently again and it's so layered and gorgeous. A wine with superb texture and cedar and chocolate. Full and velvety tannins with sweet tobacco and meat with dried plums. Firm and chewy yet tight and reserved. So young. Decant two hours before serving. Drink or hold. " (12/2014)

Bid on this bottle of 2013 Opus One Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (100JS, 97RP, 97VN). James Suckling: "The greatest Opus ever. Terrific aromas of crushed black currants, blueberries and flowers with hints of sweet tobacco. Roses continue to exude opulence and class. Full body, superb balance of ultra-fine tannins and vibrant acidity. Complex aftertaste of black fruits and citrus fruit. Extremely persistent. So approachable now and enjoyable. But will be even better in 2019 and beyond. 79% Cabernet Sauvignon, 7% Cabernet Franc, 6% Merlot, 6% Petit Verdot, 2% Malbec. This will always be beautiful to drink." (09/2016)

2007 Arnaud Ente Meursault
Bid on this bottle of 2007 Arnaud Ente Meursault (90ST). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Expressive aromas of lemon, orange, nut oil and oatmeal; classic Meursault. Sweet, suave and vibrant, with lovely sugar/acid balance and palate-staining flavor intensity. Classy, complex village wine with very good length. (Budget-conscious Burgundy lovers should seek out Ente's citric, floral Bourgogne Blanc, which is quite Puligny-like in its purity, intensity and light touch. His Aligote, with its sexy aromas and flavors of pineapple, lemon and toasted bread, is also a winner: brisk but not hard.) (ST)" (09/2009)

Bid on this bottle of 1989 Domaine Louis Jadot Chevalier-Montrachet Grand Cru "Demoiselles" (98RP, 94BH). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "This wine takes about 5 minutes in the glass to begin opening, but wow, what a nose once it gets going! Mainly savoury aromas of toasted nut, marmite, and white truffles over lemon tart, butterscotch, creme brulee and chalk boards. A high level of refreshing acidity cuts through the silken, concentrated palate. Very long finish of pineapple pastry, dried mango, preserved ginger and minerals. (LPB)" (05/2010)

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2003 Ducru-Beaucaillou, St-Julien (94JS, 94RP, 94WS, 92ST, 91W&S, 91WE). Wine Spectator: "Alluring aromas and flavors of warm fig bread, espresso, roasted mesquite and blackberry confiture are fleshy and impressively rendered, with a noticeable plum skin and toothy loamy edge. Shows a bit more juicy energy than most in this retrospective, but doesn't quite reach next-level quality. Drink now through 2032. (JM, Web Only-2018)"

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2012 Chandon de Briailles Corton-Clos du Roi Grand Cru ((95-96JG), (92-94ST)). John Gilman: "The 2012 Clos du Roi had already been racked into tank, but it was clearly the star of this superb lineup this year! The great nose soars from the glass in a mix of red and black plums, cherries, cocoa, a very, very complex base of soil, raw cocoa, gamebirds, woodsmoke and a nice touch of violets in the upper register. On the palate the wine is pure, full-bodied and rock solid at the core, with a superb synthesis of transparency and sappy fruit, very refined, substantial tannins and outstanding length and grip on the nascently complex, very classic finish. A great wine in the making." (11/2013)

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2012 Chandon de Briailles Corton Bressandes Grand Cru (95JG, (92-94BH), 93VN). John Gilman: "The domaine’s Bressandes was still in barrel and absolutely singing at the time of my visit. The gorgeous bouquet is a complex and very pure blend of red and black cherries, gamebirds, Asian spices, iron-like soil tones, coffee, woodsmoke, cocoa and a touch of fresh nutmeg in the upper register. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied, pure on the attack and very stony in its soil profile, with a sappy core, superb transparency, ripe, well-integrated tannins and simply stunning length and grip on the young and very, very refined finish. A great bottle of Corton in the making! (Drink between 2022-2060) " (11/2013)

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 1996 Bollinger "La Grande Année" Brut Champagne (95RP, 94WE, 93WS, 93ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Disgorged January 2005. A deeper hue compared to the 1999, the nose with greater intensity, with delicate honeyed/buttery tones, green apples, a little more mushroomy just in the background, great lift and gaining intensity in the glass. Quintessential Bollinger bouquet. The palate has a rich entry, very good ripeness with touches of clear honey, a touch of mango, melted butter, white flowers and much greater weight than the 1999. Superb definition towards the finish and great length. Outstanding Bollinger, one for the cellar if you can resist temptation. Drink now-2020+ (NM-Wine Journal)" (05/2009)

2007 Domaine de Montille Pommard 1er Cru "Les Pezerolles"
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2007 Domaine de Montille Pommard 1er Cru "Les Pezerolles" ((90-93BH)). Allen Meadows - Burghound: "There is a persuasive, if not air tight, argument to be made that a fine Pézerolles is the most elegant of all the Pommard 1ers (yes, I acknowledge that there are at least two others one could legitimately mention) and this example will do nothing to suggest otherwise with its stunning array of red berry fruits, floral notes and mineral elements, all of which merge seamlessly into the pure, racy, detailed and linear flavors that are focused like a laser on the balanced and wonderfully persistent finish. Like the Taillepieds, this is defined by its extract of stone character and this is, along with the versions from Michel Lafarge and Joseph Voillot, reference standard juice. *Outstanding*" (04/2009)

Of the 2008 Clos de la Roilette Fleurie,John Gilman writes: "The 2008 Fleurie from Clos de la Roilette will be stunning, and not surprisingly it is one of the most seductive and succulent examples of the vintage for early drinking. The deep and flamboyant bouquet surges from the glass in a beautiful mélange of cherries, cranberries, violets, a bit of meatiness and a lovely, complex base of soil. On the palate the wine is medium-full, deep, long and very, very pure, with lovely mid-palate intensity, bright acids and superb complexity on the long, tangy finish.
