Bid on this 3-magnum lot of 2004 Felsina "Rancia" Chianti Classico Riserva (1.5L) (96RP, 95ST, 92WE, 90WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2004 Chianti Classico Riserva Rancia is pure silk on the palate. The 2004 is never going to be a huge Rancia. Instead, it is the wine’s elegance and poise that stand out most. In this tasting, the 2004 comes across as a modern day 1990, even if the vintage was quite different from a climactic perspective. Sweet roses, spices and licorice are all woven together beautifully on the impossibly fine, dazzling finish. This is a wine of unbelievable harmony. Proprietor Giuseppe Mazzocolin and longtime oenologist Franco Bernabei have elevated Sangiovese to a level of sophistication rarely seen. Anticipated maturity: 2014-2034. (AG)" (06/2012)

2014 Sine Qua Non "Piranha Waterdance" California Syrah
Bid on this bottle of 2014 Sine Qua Non "Piranha Waterdance" California Syrah (100RP, 99JD, (95-97VN), 94WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Blended of 81% Syrah, 8% Petite Sirah, 6% Mourvèdre, 4% Touriga Nacional and 1% Graciano, sourced from 34% The Third Twin, 35% Eleven Confessions and 31% Cumulus (all estate vineyards), the provocative, inky purple colored 2014 Syrah Piranha Waterdance was made using 26% whole cluster and hits the scent scene with exuberant, pure crème de cassis, blackberry cordial and blueberry coulis notes with hints of espresso, licorice, garrigue and menthol, plus a gorgeous underlying perfume of red roses. The full-bodied palate is oh-so-elegant and pretty, revealing very finely pixelated tannins that beautifully frame the almost electric intensity, culminating in an epically long, licorice and chocolate-laced finish. Too stunning for mere words and rude to even try--just drink it. (LPB)" (09/2017)

2011 Kosta Browne "Keefer Ranch" Russian River Valley Pinot Noir
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2011 Kosta Browne "Keefer Ranch" Russian River Valley Pinot Noir (95CG, 93ST, 91VN, 91WS). Connoisseurs Guide: "We have often found a singular and very identifiable purity to the fruit of Russian River's best Pinot sites, and this lovely version from Keefer Ranch is perfect example of just that. It is optimally ripened and very rich right from the first with a long and very deep complement of juicy, red-cherry fruit, and its teasing suggestions of sweet oak and dried flowers only make a good thing even better. It manages to be lively and lithe and fairly substantial all at once, and its lengthy, amazingly vital finish further marks it as a decidedly collectable wine that vies with the very best of the vintage." 2008 Merry Edwards "Meredith Estate" Russian River Valley Pinot Noir
Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 2008 Merry Edwards "Meredith Estate" Russian River Valley Pinot Noir (95CG, 94WE, 90WS). Connoisseurs Guide: "As deep, as rich and as well appointed in persistent fruit as any of its stablemates, the Pinot Noir from Ms. Edwards's home property is perhaps the best bred of them all. It is at one and the same time weighty and beautifully balanced, and its composed combination of ripeness, sweet oak and fresh cherries puts it on the track for certain improvement with age. Its sense of vigor and fruity stamina makes us think that it could grow for a decade or more, and, if given the choice, we would exercise patience and wait for at least four or five years before pulling its cork." 2014 Rhys "Horseshoe Vineyard" Santa Cruz Mountains Syrah
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2014 Rhys "Horseshoe Vineyard" Santa Cruz Mountains Syrah (96VN). Vinous: "The 2014 Syrah Horseshoe Vineyard is a magical wine. Interestingly, the Syrah shares much with the Pinot off this site in its structural feel and dark flavor profile. Inky blue/purplish fruit, herbs, crème de cassis, spice, lavender and mint are all beautifully delineated. Beams of supporting tannin give the wine its shape and overall intensity, yet the 2014 retains a super-classic, Santa Cruz Mountains feel of almost deceptively mid-weight structure. The 2014 was done with 100% whole clusters. Malolactic fermentation was done in steel, the wine then spent a year in barrique followed by a year in 25HL cask. What a gorgeous wine this is. Made from a blend of 41% Syrah, 19% Grenache, 16% Petite Sirah, 13% Mourvèdre and the balance Tempranillo and Roussanne, this inky colored beauty offers terrific notes of mostly blue fruits (blackberries, blueberries), crushed violets, Asian spices and forest floor. Full-bodied, concentrated, elegant and seamless on the palate, it has a ripe tannin and a gorgeous finish. This is a fabulous wine to enjoy anytime over the coming decade. 2014 Macauley "Beckstoffer To Kalon Vineyard" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2014 Macauley "Beckstoffer To Kalon Vineyard" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon ((98-100RP), 95WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer To Kalon Vineyard is 95% Cabernet Sauvignon and 5% Cabernet Franc, all from this first-growth site in Oakville. It was aged in 100% new Taransaud T5 and Darnajou French oak barrels (which sounds somewhat similar to the Schrader philosophy of élevage). Inky purple in color, with extraordinary richness and unctuosity, magnificent fruit purity, black fruits, blue fruits, some incense, graphite, fruitcake and spice, this is absolutely pedal-to-the-metal, staggeringly rich, incredibly well-balanced and profound Cabernet Sauvignon. It should drink well for 20-25 years, and it will be worth fighting over to latch onto a bottle or two. (RP)" (12/2016)

2002 Bond "Melbury" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend
Bid on this bottle of 2002 Bond "Melbury" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (100RP, 95WE, 94WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2002 Cabernet Sauvignon Melbury, which comes from a hillside vineyard site near Lake Hennessey, is showing even better than it did in its youth. Probably years away from full maturity, the wine has an extraordinary aromatic profile of smoky meats intermixed with blackberry, creme de cassis, charcoal, lead pencil shavings and espresso. Dense, opulent and full-bodied, with terrific fruit, this is a showcase style of vintage for a wine of such great ripeness and massive intensity. This extraordinary effort displays oodles of glycerin and fabulous purity, while the oak has been completely absorbed. The cooler hillside climate of blue fruits and spring flowers is also present as the wine aerates in the glass. This wine has at least another 15-30 years of potential ahead of it. (RP)" (06/2012)

Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2015 Domaine François Mikulski Bourgogne Blanc (86BH, 86RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2015 Bourgogne Blanc has been bottled in October 2016. It has a satisfactory honeysuckle and frangipane-scented bouquet even though it would benefit from a little more delineation. The palate is well balanced with a pleasant tang of orange rind on the entry. There is commendable weight in the mouth and the detail on the finish is commensurate with expectations. Enjoy this over the next 2-3 years. (NM)" (12/2016)

Zinfandel from Teldeschi and Mounts Ranch account for 85% of the blend, with the inclusion of 15% Petite from Mounts. Succulent red cherry, hard candy, rose petal, mint and chalk fill out the layers effortlessly. Deep, powerful and resonant, the 2016 has so much to offer. Sporting a saturated purple color, it offers fabulous notes of cassis, blackberries, crushed rock, licorice and dried Provencal herbs (lavender, thyme) in a full-bodied, rich package. Knockout nose offers sappy blackberry, tar, licorice and a suggestion of 4th of July sparklers. Hugely sweet and thick but with great youthful cut and energy to its extract-rich flavors of dark berries, black cherry, pine resin and licorice; as primary as a barrel sample yet exhilarating to taste today. Like a live wire in the mouth, this great vintage of Orion finishes with full, seamless tannins and outstanding sappy length. For all its power, it's also extremely suave. This is pure Sonoma Coast Pinot, with a sweet nose of root beer, blackcurrants, black cherries, and forest floor. It is the most densely colored of all four Pinot Noirs, and shows the biggest body, structure and richness. I also think it’s the most concentrated. 2002 Shafer "Hillside Select" Stags Leap District Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this bottle of 2002 Shafer "Hillside Select" Stags Leap District Cabernet Sauvignon (100RP, 97WE, 97WS, 95W&S, 94VN, 93CG). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "In contrast to the more linear, structured, but massive 2001, the 2002 Shafer Cabernet Sauvignon Hillside Select is pure fruit-bomb material, but stunningly proportioned, beautifully pure, with notes of melted chocolate, blackcurrant jam, sweet black cherries, licorice, camphor and charcoal. Very full-bodied, like the 2001, but much more lavishly fruited, it is more accessible and hedonistically, as well as intellectually, satisfying. If the 2001 is the long-distance runner, this comes across more like a middle-distancer. It had performed fabulously well since it was released by the winery, and even though it’s still an adolescent in terms of its evolution, this wine is a head-turner in wine tastings, and a spectacular effort from Napa. Drink now or drink in 20-25 years. (RP)" (12/2014)

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2005 Pontet-Canet, Pauillac (97JD, 97RP, 96WS, 95DC, 95VN, 94WE). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Tasted at the Pontet-Canet vertical in London, the 2005 Château Pontet-Canet has long been one of the stars of the vintage and this might well be the best of over a dozen showings of this wine. However, do not expect ostentation on the nose. This is 2005 and like many wines of this vintage, even with considerable decanting, it remained broody and introspective on the nose, as if it is checking you out and seeing if you are worthy. Once you have been accepted, then it swings the doors open to reveal gorgeous scents of blackberry, briary and cassis fruit, perhaps a little more sous-bois than I have noticed compared to previous bottles. The palate is medium-bodied, but dense and structured—certainly a more masculine Pontet-Canet built for long-term ageing. Yet it retains marvelous freshness and vitality all the way through to the pencil-lead, quite saline finish. I

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2012 Cayuse "Cailloux Vineyard" Walla Walla Valley Syrah (96RP, 95VN, 95WS, 94WE). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The only Syrah to be cofermented with Viognier, the 2012 Syrah Cailloux Vineyard (which sees mostly second-fill barrels) is one of the more serious, age-worthy examples of this cuvee I've tasted. Offering up lots of black raspberry, orange blossom, peach pit (these are no doubt due to the Viognier) and violet notes to go with almost searing minerality, this fabulous Syrah hits the palate with full-bodied richness, a layered, concentrated, tannic mouth feel and a great finish. Give it 2-3 years and enjoy over the following decade or so. 96+ points. (JD)" (04/2015)

The long, mineral-driven finish keeps everything firmly grounded. Approachable now, but has a ways to go. (JM, Web-2015)"

Bid on this magnum of 2008 Lucia "Garys' Vineyard" Santa Lucia Highlands Pinot Noir (1.5L) (96RP, 92WS, 91ST). Dense ruby/purple-tinged with notes of plums, black cherry, black raspberry, and currant, with hints of graphite and subtle smoke, the wine is complex, fleshy, and exuberantly California in style, but with unmistakable Pinot Noir authenticity--richer, denser, and more velvety textured than almost any Burgundy that readers are likely to run across. With its long, fruit-filled, layered finish, the overall impression is one of voluptuousness and seduction. (RP)" (08/2010)

2009 Quilceda Creek Columbia Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2009 Quilceda Creek Columbia Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (99RP, 98WE, 96WS, 95ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon (98% Cabernet Sauvignon and 2% Merlot) is a ripe, flamboyant and brilliantly proportioned effort that oozes kirsch, licorice, lead pencil shavings and dried spice on the nose. Showing the perfume and headiness of the vintage, it nevertheless stays vibrant and lively on the palate while delivering layers of fruit and texture. While formidably structured and tannic, it can be enjoyed now due to the overall tannin quality and purity of fruit. It will evolve and drink well for over two decades. (JD)" (06/2013)

2005 Chasseur "Sexton" Russian River Valley Pinot Noir
Bid on this 5-bottle lot of 2005 Chasseur "Sexton" Russian River Valley Pinot Noir (95CG, 91RP, 90ST). Connoisseurs Guide: "Serving as something of a bridge between Chasseur's elegant Sylvia's and opulent Freestone Station bottlings, this lovely wine exhibits the best of both with its complex expressions of cherries and violets and perfectly fit oak. It is full and fleshy in feel with a terrific sense of concentration and just the right touch of tannin for structural grip, and, like both of its show-stopping partners, it is absolutely delicious right now yet will develop in bottle for a good many years. *Three Stars*" (10/2007)

2011 Lucien Le Moine Clos de la Roche Grand Cru
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2011 Lucien Le Moine Clos de la Roche Grand Cru (95RP, (92-94BH), 93ST, 93WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2011 Clos de la Roche Grand Cru has a pure bouquet of blackberry, boysenberry, cold stone and bay leaf that is very well-defined. The palate is structured and tightly wound, almost aloof at the moment, but there is certainly very good depth and harmony with a long, persistent yet somehow weightless finish. This is another impressive 2011 from Lucien Le Moine. Drink 2017-2035. (NM) " (04/2014)

Of the 2000 Pichon-Lalande, Pauillac,Robert Parker's Wine Advocate writes: "I find this to be a spectacular Pichon Lalande. Dense purple in color, with loads of coffee, mocha, creme de cassis, and chocolate notes, this is a somewhat unusual blend of 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 34% Merlot, and a whooping 10% Petit Verdot, with a little bit of Cabernet Franc. The Petit Verdot certainly gives the wine more of a tapenade, floral note, which I think can be interpreted by some as herbal. (RP)" (06/2010)

Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 2005 Domaine Faiveley Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru "Cazetiers" (94BH, 92JG, 92WS, 90ST). Allen Meadows - Burghound: "A very ripe nose speaks of cassis, warm earth, menthol and that unique character of underbrush that classic examples of Gevrey often display. The textured, intense and big-bodied flavors are blessed with an abundance of dry extract as well as outstanding depth and length. But what really sets this wine apart beyond the sheer depth of material is the impeccable balance. A terrific effort built to last for decades." (01/2012)

2013 The Hilt "Old Guard" Sta. Rita Hills Chardonnay
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2013 The Hilt "Old Guard" Sta. Rita Hills Chardonnay (95VN, 94RP). Vinous: "A wine of precision and translucent purity, the 2013 Chardonnay Old Guard is superb. Here, the greater reliance on Santa Maria fruit over Sta. Rita Hills, aging in neutral oak and mostly blocked-malo style come together to yield a vibrant, pulsating Chardonnay built on energy. Lemon peel, white flowers, green orchard fruit and chalk are all given an extra kick of brightness of acidity on the finish, where a slight element of Burgundian-inflected reduction adds further nuance. This is a stunning Chardonnay from The Hilt and Winemaker Matt Dees. (AG)" (08/2015)

Bid on this 2-magnum lot of 2003 M. Chapoutier "Les Varonniers" Crozes-Hermitage (1.5L) (94RP, 92WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Looking first at his Crozes Hermitage, and a wine that will stand toe to toe with any number of Hermitages, the 2003 Crozes Hermitage Les Varonniers offers thrilling black fruits, saddle leather, spice and cured meat-like qualities to go with a sexy, full-bodied, and layered profile on the palate. It will continue to evolve gracefully, but there’s no reason to delay gratification and I’d enjoy this fabulous Syrah over the coming couple of years. (JD)" (04/2014)

2013 Cirq "Bootlegger's Hill" Russian River Valley Pinot Noir
Bid on this bottle of 2013 Cirq "Bootlegger's Hill" Russian River Valley Pinot Noir (96RP, 95WS, 93VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The first vintage from this vineyard, the utterly sensational 694-case 2013 Pinot Noir Bootlegger's Hill was completely destemmed and was brought up in 55% new French oak, with a small part in concrete egg. Offering incredible notes of creme de cassis and black currants, with beautifully integrated oak, it has medium to full-bodied richness, a seamless, layered, ultra-pure texture, fine tannin and a flat out awesome finish. It's certainly one of the superstar Pinot Noirs from California and while it's brilliant today, it should drink well for 10-15+ years. (JD)" (09/2016)

Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 2013 Aubert "Larry Hyde and Sons Vineyard" Carneros Chardonnay (96RP, 95VN, 93WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2013 Chardonnay Larry Hyde and Sons, like most of Aubert’s Chardonnays, always seems to have a greenish hue to its light straw/gold color. This wine comes from one of the coldest vineyards in the Aubert portfolio. The 2013 does offer some delicate pineapple, damp earth and wet stones as well as a touch of white currants and quince. This beautifully fruited wine is medium to full-bodied, has great acidity, and should continue to drink well for at least another decade. (RP)" (12/2015)

Full-bodied and medium sweet, with a balance of very chewy tannins and sugary fruit at the finish. This goes on and on. The great 1994 again? Best after 2020. (JS)" (03/2010)

1978 Diamond Creek "Gravelly Meadow" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this bottle of 1978 Diamond Creek "Gravelly Meadow" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (95JG, 92RP, 91WS). John Gilman: "I had previously tasted the 1978 Red Rock Terrace and the Volcanic Hill, but this was my first bottle (in recent times) of the ’78 Gravelly Meadow from Diamond Creek. This is one of the greatest vintages in the long and storied history of this great estate, but all of the ‘78s here are still on the young side and it really is still a waste of bottles to be opening them today, as they are still climbing in quality and just a few more years patience is going to be rewarded with even more magical wine in the glass. The ’78 Gravelly Meadow delivers a superb bouquet of cassis, dark berries, cigar box, lovely soil tones, incipient notes of chipotles, cigar smoke and a topnote of fresh herbs. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied, pure and very complex, with a great core of fruit, superb soil signature, excellent focus and balance and a very long, still fairly tann

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Light gold in color, with an extraordinary nose of poached pears, citrus honey and a touch of orange rind, the 2009 Chardonnay Marcassin Vineyard has beautiful fruit, a full-bodied mouthfeel, penetrating acids and an underlying minerality and richness. The finish goes on for a good 40-45 seconds. This is sensational Chardonnay and very much in keeping with this vineyard. Drink now-2020. (RP)" (08/2015)

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2003 Behrens & Hitchcock "The Heavyweight" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (93RP, 91ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Speaking of a Heavyweight, the 2003 (50% Merlot, 40% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 10% equal parts Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc) is a sensational 375-case effort from the Thorevilos Vineyard owned by David Abreu and Ric Foreman. Its dense ruby/purple color is accompanied by an explosive bouquet of black and blue fruits, cedar, and high quality French oak. Jeb Dunnuck: "The 1998 Fox Creek Shiraz Reserve is one of my benchmark Aussies and continues to age beautifully. Cassis, blackberry and earthy underbrush aromas are balanced out by pine resin and subtle balsamic aromas and this is as smooth and pure as can be. The palate is full bodied, perfectly balanced, structured, precise and amazingly long. I could drink this every night." (09/2008)
