Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Reticent but complex nose combines smoke, apricot and menthol. Sappy and rather powerful in the mouth without coming across as phenolic. 2005 Brane-Cantenac, Margaux
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2005 Brane-Cantenac, Margaux (95RP, 94WE, 92WS, 91ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A sexy, style of wine from the Lurtons at Brane-Cantenac, this wine (a blend of 51% Cabernet Sauvignon, 41% Merlot and the rest Cabernet Franc) has a stunning nose of forest floor, licorice, blackcurrants, plums and spring flowers. Soft tannin, full-bodied opulence and beautifully textured, lush richness, make for a brilliant wine from this large, 180-acre vineyard. In spite of the wine’s stunning forward fragrance and lushness, the color still looks as if it is 3-4 years old, rather than a decade. This is a big-time winner in 2005 and should drink well for at least another 25+ years. (RP)" (06/2015)

Of the 2006 Arietta "Hudson Vineyards" Napa Valley Merlot,Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar writes: "Dark red. Aromas and flavors of plum, minerals and dark chocolate, plus a whiff of menthol. Very ripe, sweet and lush, with impressive depth and power for North Coast merlot. Finishes with serious but ripe tannins and a suggestion of black olive. (ST)" (05/2009)

Of the 2005 Domaine Jean-Marc Pavelot Savigny-lès-Beaune 1er Cru "Aux Guettes",Allen Meadows - Burghound writes: "A remarkably floral nose also speaks clearly of earthy and spicy red and dark berry fruit aromas that display almost no secondary nuances. The firm, concentrated and quite serious medium-bodied flavors are supported by plenty of mouth coating dry extract that helps to buffer the moderately prominent tannic spine that shapes the beautifully complex finale. This beauty is still very much on the way up and I wouldn't suggest touching a bottle for at least another 5 years or so." (06/2015)

2008 Calon-Ségur, St-Estèphe
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2008 Calon-Ségur, St-Estèphe (93JS, 93RP, 92DC, 92JG, 90ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Tasted from an ex-château bottle at BI Wine & Spirits Calon-Segur dinner in London. I praised the 2008 Calon Segur when I tasted it blind in 2012 and I have no reason to change my opinion three years later. Here it has a surprisingly deep hue for a 2008. The nose is very detailed and lively, more breezy and carefree than the 2009 with vivacious blackberry, cedar and graphite scents. The palate is medium-bodied and slightly brittle in texture on the entry. The acidity is beautifully judged here with superb balance: smooth and harmonious, though it just tapers in towards the edgy, maybe angular finish. This has a sense of joie-de-vivre perhaps not common in Calon-Ségur's wines. It is one of the best Left Bank wines in 2008 and given its price, one of its best values. (NM)" (10/2016)

Of the 2003 Bruno Giacosa "Falletto" Barbera d'Alba,Robert Parker's Wine Advocate writes: "Rich, dense and concentrated, Giacosa’s superb 2003 Barbera d’Alba Superiore Falletto offers a complex range of jammy dark fruit, spice, tar and licorice flavors with great persistence on the palate. Despite its ripeness, the wine appears to have plenty of structure underneath and carries its 15% alcohol with grace. Even better in the bottle than it was from barrel, this exceptional wine is not to be missed. In addition to 6,773 750ml bottles there are also 1,000 magnums of this juice which Giacosa feels has enough structure to age well. (AG)" (10/2006)

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2004 Château de Beaucastel Châteauneuf-du-Pape Blanc (94RP, 92WS, 91ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2004 Beaucastel Chateauneuf du Pape blanc is outrageously good, one of the finest examples they have made over recent vintages. I retasted it and it has jumped in stature and score considerably. It is a beauty, with formidable richness, loads of honeysuckle, litchi, and buttery grapefruit, lemon, and tropical fruits in a full-bodied, well-delineated style with terrific acidity and definition. It should drink well for a decade or more. (RP)" (02/2007)

1997 Castello Banfi Brunello di Montalcino
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 1997 Castello Banfi Brunello di Montalcino (97VN, 94WS, 92W&S, 92WE). Vinous: "Very dark garnet with saturated purple hues. Penetrating aromas of underbrush, sweet tobacco and wild mushroom. Quite juicy, but also sumptuous and deep, with rich flavors of mocha, espresso and anise over a firm mineral backbone. There is no evidence of excess weight in spite of the wine generous structure. The long close features glossy tannins and a flavor of cassis. At once powerful and elegant. Among the largest producers in Montalcino, Castello Banfi is arguably the one making the best Brunellos today, with a remarkable string of successes since 1990. (EB)" (07/2002)

2005 Clos Saint Jean Châteauneuf-du-Pape

Wine Spectator: "Quite ripe, with almost flashy fig, currant paste and mocha notes that slowly give way to more loam, tar and coffee flavors. This really shows its density on the finish, with hints of Port reduction and licorice pushed by ample but ripe tannins. (JM)" (04/2008)

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2004 Clos Figueres Priorat (93RP, 92VN, 90WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2004 Clos Figueres, from the vineyard’s older vines, is a knockout starting with its saturated purple color, intense nose of vanilla, spice box, blackberries and blueberry liqueur, and layered, concentrated flavors. Full-bodied, with ripe tannins and a very long finish, this showy effort should evolve splendidly for 5-7 years and drink well for 10-15 years thereafter. (JSM)" (02/2007)

Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2010 Domaine Pinson Chablis Grand Cru "Les Clos" (92ST). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Very ripe aromas of orange, vanilla and flowers. Juicy and minerally but backward; denser than the Mont-de-Milieu but less showy today. Tight and gripping grand cru with lovely mineral energy and a note of orange oil giving a tactile quality to the brisk, mounting finish. Built to age: I'd start drinking this in five years. Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2005 Concha y Toro "Don Melchor" Cabernet Sauvignon Puente Alto (96WS, 94RP, 91W&S). Wine Spectator: "Still very tight, but the tannins that lead the way now are sleek and refined, and should easily meld into the huge core of roasted chestnut, black currant paste, warm fig and tar. Has a long, coffee and loam-tinged finish. *Highly Recommended, #12 on Top 100 of 2008* (JM)" (06/2008)

Of the 2005 Domaine Bouchard Pere & Fils Beaune 1er Cru "Marconnets",Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar writes: "Dark red. Wild aromas of black cherry, leather and meat; there's something almost Cote de Nuits-like about this. Sweet, dense and concentrated, with a supple texture but also good inner-mouth energy. Shows an intriguing smoky character. Finishes fat, suave and long, with fine-grained tannins. (ST)" (03/2007)

Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 2005 Domaine de la Vieille Julienne Châteauneuf-du-Pape (95JD, 95RP, 94WS, 93VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The most masculine and structured of the group, the 2005 Chateauneuf du Pape is locked and loaded, with serious concentration, big tannin and no shortage of length on the finish. Coming from a year that featured a cool summer and then scorching temps around harvest, this beauty doles out loads of creme de cassis, licorice, graphite and crushed rock-like minerality, as well as a seamless, perfectly balanced profile. Give it another 2-3 years and drink it through 2025. (JD)" (08/2014)

Comparably, this will probably require another year or two in bottle before it's ready for prime time." (04/2006)

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2006 Domaine des Croix Beaune 1er Cru "Pertuisots" ((91-92RP), 91WS, (88-90BH)). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Pungent cinnamon and ginger spice on the nose of Croix's Beaune Pertuisots – from a little-known site north of Vignes Franches, and here planted with 20-35 year old vines – remind me a bit of Volnay Clos des Chenes. Exuberant fresh, ripe cherry mingles with the spices and saline and chalky mineral notes on a silken palate, finishing long on refreshment and minerality, with great finesse. This should continue to excite for at least 6-8 years. The more structured 2005, incidentally – Croix's first vintage – has turned out superbly as well. (DS)" (12/2009)

The house style at Domaine des Croix is more overt and fruit-driven than at Camille Giroud. Domaine des Croix remains an excellent source for delicious, reasonably-priced Burgundies that drink well with minimum cellaring. (AG)" (05/2011)

1999 Monbousquet, St-Emilion (1.5L)
Bid on this magnum of 1999 Monbousquet, St-Emilion (1.5L) (94RP, 91ST, 91WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The dense ruby/purple-colored 1999 Monbousquet exhibits a port-like bouquet of super-ripe black cherry and black currant fruit intermixed with scents of coffee, tobacco, and vanilla. Tipping the scales at a whopping 14% alcohol (extremely high for Bordeaux), this wine, which spends 18 months in 100% new oak and is bottled unfined and unfiltered, is a blend of 60% Merlot, 30% Cabernet Franc, and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon. It was cropped at an amazingly low 30 hectoliters per hectare. It possesses an amazing texture, a mid-palate that you could get lost in, and a sensational 40-45 second finish. The exotic aromas, incredible texture, and abundant fruit are reminiscent of Pomerol's renowned micro-cuvee, Le Pin. The 1999 is even better from bottle than it was from cask. It is a remarkable effort for the vintage. (RP)" (04/2002)

Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2006 Domaine Digioia-Royer Chambolle-Musigny. Neal Martin writes: "The village of Chambolle is a veritable cluster of outstanding producers that are alas becoming prohibitively expensive, perhaps justifiably so given their quality. So it is important to try and find less well-known producers nestled within its ruelles, which is where you find Domaine Digioia-Royer. Yes, it is difficult to pronounce, (say “Dee-Joy-Er” and I’d forget the Royer unless you want to tie your tongue into a double bowline) but the wines are worth seeking out. The domaine actually went under the name of Victor Morretti from the 1930s until 1999, when Michel Digioia inherited 2.70 hectares from his parents-in-law. He now has five hectares to his name, the vines worked lutte raisonee and the fruit completely de-stemmed, undergoing a traditional vinification, mostly in wooden barrels during an elevage between 12 and 18 months. He exacts a prudent use of oak, between 10% to 20%, but inte

2005 Ridge Vineyards "Monte Bello" Santa Cruz Mountains Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 2005 Ridge Vineyards "Monte Bello" Santa Cruz Mountains Cabernet Sauvignon (97RP, 97W&S, 96VN, 94ST, 93CG). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "While in a good year there's normally 4,000 cases of the Monte Bello, there was a scant 2,200 cases produced of the 2005 Monte Bello. Thick, massive, and concentrated with ample currants, lead pencil, licorice and chocolate aromas and flavors, this full-bodied beauty is just now at the early stages of adolescence, and has plenty of underlying tannic grip still present. It should hit full maturity in another 4-5 years and hold for 2-3 decades after that. (JD)" (10/2015)

2002 Sine Qua Non "Just for the Love of It" Syrah
Bid on this bottle of 2002 Sine Qua Non "Just for the Love of It" Syrah (100RP, 94ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A dead-ringer (at least aromatically) for Guigal’s single vineyard Cote Rotie La Mouline, the 2002 Just For The Love of It is the greatest California Syrah I have yet tasted. A one-thousand case blend of 96% Syrah, 2% Grenache, and 2% Viognier, it is nearly equal parts Alban, Bien Nacido, and Stolpman fruit with a small amount from both Shadow Canyon and White Hawk. It boasts a provocative perfume of creme de cassis, toast, blackberries, licorice, barbecue spice, and exotic floral scents. Extremely full-bodied, with fabulous intensity, great purity, awesome length, and a finish that lasts over a minute, this classic is a must purchase. Already accessible, it will drink well for 10-15 years. (RP)" (08/2004)

2006 Schrader "Beckstoffer To Kalon CCS" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this bottle of 2006 Schrader "Beckstoffer To Kalon CCS" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (100RP, 95WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2006 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer To-Kalon CCS is utter perfection in Cabernet Sauvignon. Extraordinary power, fruit depth, and perfume (not dissimilar from its siblings’) as well as a seamlessness, monumental richness, and a staggering finish are the stuff of legends. Again, the dominant characteristics are creme de cassis, graphite, espresso, blackberries, chocolate, and subtle background new oak. (RP)" (12/2008)

Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 2012 Occidental (Kistler) "Bodegas Headlands--Cuvee Elizabeth" Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir (98RP, 97VN, 90WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "As good as the Cuvée Catherine is, there is another Occidental Pinot that is profound. There are 2,000 cases of the 2012 Pinot Noir Bodega Headlands Cuvée Elizabeth. This wine reminded me of my earlier days in Burgundy tasting the Grand Cru Musigny. Incredible floral notes, sweet raspberries and blueberries as well as wet rocks soar from the glass of this profound, medium to full-bodied, gorgeous Pinot Noir made from 100% Calera clone. Stunning ripeness, great acids, and terrific delineation are all present in this super-intense, fragrant, modern classic from Steve Kistler. It should drink well for at least a decade, possibly a lot longer. (RP)" (01/2015)

Bid on this magnum of 2011 Bond "Melbury" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (1.5L) (OWC - 95VN, 93JS, 92RP, 92ST) in original wood. Vinous: "In this tasting, the 2011 Melbury doesn’t show the volume or structure of some of the more important vintages, but it has plenty of acidity to drink well for many years. Given the challenges of the vintage, the flavor profile is naturally a bit more savory than is the norm, while the palate-feel is a touch narrow. Even so, it is pretty clear the 2011 will have its day at some point in the future. Today, it is best cellared for at least another few years. (AG) 95+" (11/2017)

The long and powerful yet refined aftertaste keeps reverberating fruit generosity while maintaining Cabernet's strength of personality. 2011 Chateau Montelena "Estate" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2011 Chateau Montelena "Estate" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (92ST, 91JS, 91RP, 91VN). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "(30% new oak): Bright ruby-red. Captivating, high-pitched aromas of cassis, licorice pastille, bitter chocolate, violet, rose petal and mocha. Juicy and tightly wound, with fresh acidity energizing the middle palate but keeping the wine's dark berry flavors restrained today. There's a lightly peppery quality that gives away the vintage, but this highly aromatic wine is a big success for the year and very well made. (ST)" (05/2014)

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2006 Michel Bonnefond (Roumier) Ruchottes-Chambertin Grand Cru (92BH, 92VN, 91RP). Allen Meadows - Burghound: "(published under Roumier's identical bottling) Contrary to the usual pattern, this is actually more expressive than the Charmes with its cool, refined, pure and ripe nose of red and dark berry fruit that includes elements of truffle, crushed herb, earth and minerality, all of which can be found on the very primary and very fresh, sappy, powerful and focused flavors that are serious and while the underlying material of the Charmes is good, this is clearly better which is important because the tannins here are also moderately firmer and denser. 2013 Maybach "Materium" Oakville Cabernet Sauvignon (1.5L)
Bid on this magnum of 2013 Maybach "Materium" Oakville Cabernet Sauvignon (1.5L) (100RP, 94WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "There are roughly 600 cases of the 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Materium, all of which comes from the Weitz Vineyard on the eastern Vaca Mountain hillside of Oakville at an elevation of about 1,000 feet above the Silverado Trail. This is shallow soil interspersed with loads of pebbles and stones. This wine is incredible first-growth material – a magical Cabernet Sauvignon with an opaque purple color, an extraordinary nose of blackberry and cassis, white flowers, crushed rock and minerality followed by a full-bodied majestic mouthfeel with phenomenal balance, purity and overall equilibrium. Stunningly rich and impressive, this wine will hit its peak in 8-10 years and has the potential to last 40-50 years. Sexy nose offers raspberry, spices, dried rose, cassis and minerals; reminded me of a top Pauillac. Then suave, complex and energetic in the mouth, offering wonderful precision to the intense red fruit, tobacco and floral flavors. Bid on this magnum of 2015 Scarecrow Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (1.5L) (OWC - 99RP, 98VN) in original wood. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Produced from 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, the 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon leaps from the glass with gorgeous floral notes of red roses and lilacs over a core of black and red cherries, crushed black currants and baking spices plus hints of iron ore and dusty earth. The voluptuous, rounded, soft and sexy fruit slinks across the palate with incredible seamlessness and expression. Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2012 Quilceda Creek Columbia Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (98JD, 98RP, 96WS, 95VN, 95WE). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon is brilliant. Made from 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, mostly from the famous Champoux Vineyard in the Horse Heaven Hills, it was aged all in new oak and bottled unfined and unfiltered. It offers a captivating bouquet of black cherry liqueur and cassis-like fruit, Asian spice, coffee bean and lead pencil shavings to go with a full-bodied, ripe, seamless and hedonistic style on the palate. One of the more approachable, opulent examples of this cuvee, it has no hard edges, plenty of tannin and a massive, heady finish. Drink now through 2032. (JD)" (06/2015)

2013 Domaine Armand Rousseau Chambertin-Clos de Beze Grand Cru
Bid on this bottle of 2013 Domaine Armand Rousseau Chambertin-Clos de Beze Grand Cru (95BH, 95RP, 94ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Tasted blind at the Burgfest tasting in Beaune, the 2013 Chambertin Clos de Bèze Grand Cru was showing some reduction on the nose that was difficult to shake off, though there appears to be sufficient fruit underneath. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannin, a more conservative Clos de Bèze in some ways, but it demonstrates impressive precision as it fans out with gusto towards the finish. Give this 5-6 years in bottle to address the reduction issue and then I believe this will turn into an exemplary Grand Cru. (NM)" (11/2016)

2005 Pavie, St-Emilion
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2005 Pavie, St-Emilion (100RP, 99VN, 96ST, 96WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Gérard Perse believes this is the greatest Pavie he’s made to date, although certainly I would argue that list includes the 2000, as well as the 2009 and 2010, among his superstars. This wine, which I had both in the 2005 horizontal report in the Wine Advocate, and at a mini-vertical with Perse at the restaurant Maison Boulud in Montreal, looks to be a 75- to 100-year wine. Dense, opaque purple to the rim, with a gorgeously promising nose of blackberries, cassis, graphite and cedar wood just beginning to emerge, it tastes more like a three-year-old than wine that is already a decade old. This beauty is intense and full-bodied, with magnificent concentration, a majestic mouthfeel and a total seamless integration of tannin, wood, alcohol, etc. Beautifully rich, full and multidimensional, this is a tour de force in winemaking and certainly one of the top dozen or so 2005 Bordeaux.

2013 Outpost "True Vineyard" Howell Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2013 Outpost "True Vineyard" Howell Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon (99RP, 95VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Absolutely as close to perfection as one probably can get is the 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon True Vineyard. This 100% Cabernet Sauvignon is a selection of their very best material. This cuvée represents 375 cases aged 20 months in 90% new French oak. Opaque purple in color and more packed and concentrated than its sibling, it is full-bodied, with blackberry and blueberry fruit, perhaps a slight suggestion of charcoal and volcanic earth and burning embers. The wine has huge structure, massive extract and is as packed and stacked as a Cabernet Sauvignon can be. Forget it for 7-10 years and drink it over the following 40-50. (RP)" (10/2015)

Bid on this magnum of 2014 Schrader ''Old Sparky'' Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (1.5L) (OWC - 98RP, 97JS) in original wood. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon Old Sparky, Fred Schrader's favorite selection, is clone 4 from the To Kalon Vineyard aged in 100% new Darnajou and seems closest in personality and overall style to the CCS. This is a beautiful wine with great intensity and seems to be one of the superstars of this vintage. Smoky barbecue notes intermix with charcoal embers, blackberry, cassis, Christmas fruitcake, licorice and camphor. This is a complex 2014 that is showing beautifully at the moment and will continue to drink well for another 20 years. (RP)" (10/2016)

2005 Seven Stones Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2005 Seven Stones Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (99RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "This wine blew me away in the tasting, and again, it is another of the absolutely compelling, great, great wines of this vintage. Of course, it is limited in production, which is always a problem, but this is a candidate for perfection. Inky, bluish/purple to the rim, it has a seamless, full-bodied opulence, with stunningly pure creme de cassis, black cherry and liqueur notes mixed with licorice and incense, yet the 100% new oak is completely concealed. The wine has a hint of minerality and extraordinary richness, texture and a multidimensional mouthfeel and finish. This is one of the great young wines I have tasted recently and, of course, it’s still a baby at age ten. Kudos to Seven Stones! 99+ points. (RP)" (05/2015)
