2004 Kistler "Cuvée Elizabeth-Bodega Headlands" Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2004 Kistler "Cuvée Elizabeth-Bodega Headlands" Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir ((96-98RP)). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Bordering on perfection, the 2004 Pinot Noir Bodega Headlands (from Kistler’s new vineyard planted on the Sonoma Coast) offers up sweet plum, forest floor, and violet scents along with a La Tache-like, ethereal, floral, and black raspberry-like character. This prodigious, deep ruby/purple-colored Pinot possesses fabulous concentration as well as a layered, multidimensional palate, wonderful fruit, sweet tannin, and good acidity. It should age beautifully for 10-12 years. Interestingly, Steve Kistler planted this vineyard with the old Calera clone, which is rumored to be a suitcase clone pulled out of the Domaine de la Romanee-Conti grand cru vineyards. Bid on this magnum of 2012 Saxum "Paderewski Vineyard" Paso Robles Red Blend (1.5L) (96RP, 93WS, 92ST, 92VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Surprisingly tannic and structured for a wine that’s normally the most approachable and sexy, the 2012 Paderewski Vineyard checks in as a blend of 45% Zinfandel, 36% Mourvedre, 12% Tempranillo and 7% Petite Sirah. It possesses the classic chalky minerality of the vineyard to go with exotic perfumed notes of black raspberry, plums, brambly underbrush and assorted background meatiness. This all flows to a full-bodied, elegant and polished wine that has solid mid-palate depth and chewy, firm tannin on the finish. Offering a dense purple color, gorgeous fruit, and a sweet perfume of graphite, blackberries, blueberries, charcoal, licorice, tar, and new oak, it is a dense, full-bodied, well-endowed, beautifully layered, pure Syrah that should drink well for 10-15 years. Of the 2007 Turley "Fredericks Vineyard" Sonoma Valley Zinfandel,Robert Parker's Wine Advocate writes: "A new offering, the 2007 Zinfandel Fredericks Vineyard, is super. Old hillside, dry-farmed vines have produced a deep ruby/purple-tinged 2007 displaying sweet black currant and black cherry notes intermixed with notions of new saddle leather, forest floor, pepper, and spice. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2008 Luna is a blend of 90% Malbec seasoned with a little Petit Verdot and Cabernet Sauvignon. It has a lovely, fruit-driven bouquet with Doris plum, blackberry leaf and a dash of white pepper: very good definition and burgeoning with character. Jeb Dunnuck: "Close to my 12th bottle of the 2003 Domaine du Pégaü Châteauneuf-du-Pape Cuvée Réservée and this was one of the more tight and compact bottles. The aromas are dense and pure with stunning cassis and dark fruit intermixed with licorice, meat and leather notes. 2003 Pride Mountain "Reserve" Sonoma-Napa Counties Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2003 Pride Mountain "Reserve" Sonoma-Napa Counties Cabernet Sauvignon (99RP, 94WE, 93WS, 92CG, 91VN, 90W&S). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "In contrast, the 2003 Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve is an equal part blend of Napa and Sonoma fruit. There is no doubting the Cabernet Sauvignon in this wine! Classic notes of cedarwood, underbrush, licorice, black currants and tobacco leaf are textbook definitions of this varietal. The color is even denser than the Reserve Claret's, and the bouquet offers additional notes of Chinese black tea. Elegant with great acid as well as stunning concentration, richness and a full-bodied mouthfeel, this is another world-class effort that pushes the envelope toward perfection. It is a remarkable success for the vintage, partly due to the fact that the extremes of weather experienced on the valley floor were less problematic for these high altitude sites. (RP)" (06/2013)

Armand de Brignac "Ace of Spades" Brut Champagne
Bid on this bottle of Armand de Brignac "Ace of Spades" Brut Champagne (95DC, 93RP, 91WE, 91WS). Decanter: "This is a three-way assemblage: three grape varieties – and equal percentage of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay with 20% of Pinot Meunier – and a blend of 3 vintages, 2009, 2010 and 2012. The nose is full of flavours and rich with notes of white flowers and crème patissière. However, the palate is crisp, fresh and delicate with a lovely creamy texture. It is elegant, refined and very stylish (unlike the bottle!). It’s a pleasant combination of power and concentration blended with finesse and elegance. While the dosage is 9g/l, it feels much drier, more like a 5g/l and this probably due to the spinal cord of acidity. (CG)" (11/2016)

The 2005 is a full-bodied DP with so much richness and loads of ripe fruit such as pineapple and papaya. It has a wonderful, creamy texture and a long and intense finish. At 22, his father (who was a grower) saw his dedication to the family vineyards and gave him a little less than a hectare of vines in the village of Reuil. Since that time he has been making a tiny amount of the most unique Champagne in the world. He has slowly added to his estate- buying up choice vineyards in the villages of Reuil and Damery. His estate is just less than 7 hectares (17.5 acres) planted to about 90% Meunier and 10% Chardonnay. He has the good fortune of having an amazing cellar that is 25 feet deep at its shallowest and 75 feet deep at the far end. Here the wines that are now on offer have rested at a perfect 8.5 degrees Celsius since the day they were made. Mr. Collard only makes rosé in great vintages - so rarely that this was the only one produced in the whole decade of the '80s. It is composed entirely of Meunier, 88% vinifi

René Collard "Cuvée Ultime" Ultra Brut
Bid on this bottle of René Collard "Cuvée Ultime" Ultra Brut. What great Champagne! Mr. Collard was born in 1921 in the heart of the Marne Valley. In 1943, his father (who was a grower) saw his dedication to the family vineyards and gave him a little less than a hectare of vines of his own in the village of Reuil, with which he made his first Champagne from that year. Since that time he has been making a tiny amount of the most unique Champagne in the world. He has slowly added to his estate- buying up choice vineyards in the '40s, '50s, and '60s in the villages of Reuil and Damery. This wine is made entirely from the 1995 harvest, although it does not carry a vintage date. Mr. Collard felt that this wine, made from extraordinarily old meunier vines, did not need any sugar added to it at all. But unlike other zero dosage Champagnes, this bottling does not taste any drier than a dry style Brut, due to the exceptional ripeness of the grapes used. It has a big, bread dough nose and plent

Today it remains a baby. Pallanti calls the 1995 'jammy' but I don't really see that. Yes, the fruit is voluptuous, but it is also balanced by healthy acidity and veins of underlying minerality that keep the wine vibrant. The 1995 is the product of a year with almost no summer until late September. The harvest took place on the 20th of October, exceedingly late by present-day standards. 2014 Del Dotto "The Beast" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this bottle of 2014 Del Dotto "The Beast" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon ((97-99RP)). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The appropriately named 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon The Beast tends to come from the best barrels of all the different vineyard holdings of the Del Dotto family. It is dominated by their St. Helena holdings, and they produce about 550 cases of this ball-to-the-walls, pedal-to-the-metal style of Cabernet Sauvignon. It spends 24 months in 100% new oak, but the oak rarely shows through, given the extraordinary richness of fruit, density and high extract the wine possesses. John Gilman: "I cannot think of a more controversial pair of vintages for the Ponsot Clos de la Roche than the 1995 and the 1996. The last bottle of the 1996 that I tasted was still very buttoned up behind its substantial acidity, and seemed about as stripped down as I can ever recall a young vintage of this wine to be. However, on the previous occasion that I tasted the wine (eighteen months prior), the wine eventually opened up with a couple of hours in decanter to show rather impressive potential. In mid-2000, I thought this wine was destined to eventually evolve nicely, but the last bottle seemed so bound up as to call into question my earlier confidence. The nose still offered up notes of cherries, beet root, coffee, woodsmoke, mustard seed, sous bois, a bit of venison and a bit of citrus. On the palate, the wine stayed rather pinched and medium-weight, not blossoming w

1996 Pascal Cotat Sancerre "Monte Damnes"
Bid on this bottle of 1996 Pascal Cotat Sancerre "Monte Damnes". Stephan Reinhardt writes: "The iconic 2.4-hectare domaine in Chavignol produces just two wines, the Sancerres Les Monts Damnés and La Grande Côte. The grapes are always picked very late and highly ripe, and the wines do not ferment fully dry. Aged in old barrels and bottled without fining, they can be cellared for many, many years—if not several decades. Since they taste pretty round and fruity in the first years, I would not open a bottle before it is five or even ten years old, in order to enjoy the full mineral complexity."

Full to medium body, ultra-fine tannins and bright acidity. Fascinating character that takes everything from the aromas. Light chewy on the finish. Expanding. Needs time to soften with bottle age. Better in 2021. *Top 100 of 2017*" (02/2017)

As the wine sat in the glass, aromas of white flowers and a touch of honey emerged. 1996 Bonneau du Martray Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru
Bid on this bottle of 1996 Bonneau du Martray Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru (95WS). Wine Spectator: "A prototypical '96. Racy, full-bodied, intensely stony and citrusy, it offers ripe yet delicate aromas and flavors of pear, pineapple, wet stone, mineral and toasted oak. Delicious as it swirls in the palate, then kicks in with vengence on the citrus-smacking finish. The best part: not overdone in the oak department. *#13 in the Wine Spectator's Top 100 Wines of 1998*" (08/1998)

Bid on this bottle of 2000 Léoville-Poyferré, St-Julien (97JD, 97RP, 95WS, 93JS, 91W&S). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The plushest, most ostentatious and dramatic of all the Leovilles in 2000, this wine is already sumptuous, displaying some nuances in its huge nose of vanilla bean, black chocolate, jammy black cherries, cassis, and graphite in a flamboyant style. Opulent, savory, rich, and full-bodied, it is a head-turning, prodigious wine and a complete contrast to the extracted behemoth of Leoville Barton and the backward, classic Leoville Las Cases. The Poyferre’s low acidity, sweet tannin and an already gorgeous mouthfeel make it a wine to drink now as well as over the next 25 or more years. (RP)" (06/2010)

1935 Château Mossé Rivesaltes Vin Doux Naturel
Bid on this bottle of 1935 Château Mossé Rivesaltes Vin Doux Naturel (94RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Chateau Mosse was sold last year, the last vintage produced being the 2013, although Philippe Gayral mentioned that there are still a few wines that he might still be able to purchase. Then they'll be no more. The 1935 Rivesaltes has a lucid amber color. The nose is resinous with beeswax, smoked walnut and raisin - much more Madeira-like in style for a Rivesaltes compared to the younger vintages from Sesqueille. The palate is well balanced, smooth and harmonious: nutmeg, walnut, red peppercorns and raisin with a very understated and yet intense finish. It is almost easy to miss the charms of this nigh 80-year old Rivesaltes: nuanced and effortless like a vintage Bentley. (NM)" (11/2014)

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2012 Scarecrow Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (OWC - 98RP, (93-96ST), 96VN, 95WS) in original wood. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The classic 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon included fruit from the 2-acre, old vine parcel that is nearly 70 years of age. It boasts an opaque purple color as well as copious notes of spring flowers, blackberries, black raspberries and wet rocks. The wine’s gravelly minerality and spectacular opulence and density make it an instant classic. This massive, full-bodied 2012 should drink beautifully for 15-20+ years. It showed incredibly well last year, and it still reveals the potential to possibly merit a 3-digit score – it’s that special. (RP)" (10/2014)

Of the 2016 Aubert "CIX" Sonoma Coast Chardonnay,Robert Parker's Wine Advocate writes: "The 2016 Chardonnay CIX Estate is beguiling in its complexity and singularity, offering up scents of smoked nuts, waxed lemons, crushed rocks and coriander seed with hints of crusty bread, honeysuckle, baked peaches and clover honey. Wine Spectator: "This is dense and chewy, but not tiring to drink, thanks to fresh acidity and an edgy, gravelly feel that drives the blackberry, currant and sweet spice notes. The long finish has great briary grip, with notes of garrigue and hot stone checking in. Best from 2010 through 2030. *Rank 5 2008 Top 100. Highly Recommended* (JM)" (04/2008)

Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2011 Graham's Vintage Port (OWC - (95-97RP), 96JS, 96ST, 96WE, 96WS, 94W&S) in original wood. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2011 Graham’s comes from the five quintas that have been the source for many years (Malvedos, Tua, Vila Velha, das Lages and Vale de Malhadas). It represents a selection of the 131 pipes from a total production of 1,454 and is a blend of 40% Touriga Naçional, 31% Touriga Franca, 6% Sousão and 23% mixture of very old vines. It has a more 'serious' bouquet compared to the Dow, with beguiling scents of blackberry, wild hedgerow, tobacco and cloves. Straight-laced, very well-defined and compelling, the palate is medium-bodied with very fine tannins and supremely well-judged acidity. It is utterly harmonious, with a pure core of ripe black cherries, damson, marmalade, clove and spices, and the finish lingers long in the mouth. The separation of 'The Stone Terraces' vines certainly does not appear to have detracted from a great Graham’s

1966 Lafite-Rothschild, Pauillac
Bid on this bottle of 1966 Lafite-Rothschild, Pauillac (96RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "My God, this is a wonderful mature Lafite. Served blind chez Rosemary George MW it has a definable Pauillac nose with subtle notes of cedar, sous-bois and a touch of dried blood. It has incredible harmony and purity – a bouquet that has you instantly captivated. The palate does not disappoint: a beguiling sense of natural harmony and delineation, not the weight of Latour nor the femininity of Margaux, but a Lafite aiming for understated sophistication. Delicate cedar and cigar box towards the finish that just goes on and on. This bottle vindicates my first encounter in Bordeaux, when it similarly bewitched its audience. Absolutely sublime. A point. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The estate's 1986 Comtes de Champagne -RD- emerges from the glass with layers of lime peel, flowers and oak in a rich, creamy style. This generous, polished vintage of Comtes offers exceptional length and a refined finish. I am not sure the 1986 will be one of the longer-lived vintages of Comtes but today it is singing. Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2011 Domaine Louis Jadot Chambertin-Clos de Bèze Grand Cru (96JG, (93-95BH), 94RP, 94ST, 93WS). John Gilman: "The 2011 Louis Jadot Clos de Bèze is very, very close in quality to the brilliant 2010 that I tasted last year. The nose is deep, stunning and quite reserved in profile, offering up scents of black cherries, cassis, espresso, black minerality, herbs, grilled meat and cedar. On the palate the wine is pure, full-bodied and totally suave, with superb mid-palate depth, ripe and classy tannins and outstanding length and grip on the nascently complex and aristocratic finish.
