Villa i Cipressi is situated just outside Montalcino, on the hillside towards San Angelo in Colle. It is a small family owned and family driven farm. The family started out as beekeepers approximately 30 years ago, basing their future on different types of honey. During the 1990s Sangiovese vines and olive trees were added to the farm trying to meet the requests of clients and for the passion of working the lands. The honey production has since grown larger and the Ciacci Family has experimented with different products either based on honey or with honey... Read More »

This is fresh and youthful, and yet to unfold. Medium-full bodied, the palate has bright, vibrant and juicy flavours of dark-red and black cherries, along with soft notes of dark herbs and violet florals. 2017 Cantina Terlano "Terlaner Classico" White Blend Alto Adige

90 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "This wine is celebrating its 125th anniversary (1893-2018) with this release. The 2017 Alto Adige Terlano Classico is a blend of 60% Pinot Bianco, 30% Chardonnay and 10% Sauvignon Blanc. You get great value at this low price, and some 220,000 bottles were produced. The grapes are slowly fermented in stainless steel, and the wine ages partially in stainless steel (80%) with the remaining part in wood barrel. With frost and heat, this was not an easy vintage, but this classic blend of Alto Adige white grapes owes its performance to the quality of the fruit ...Read More »

97 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Performing considerably better than it did prior to bottling, the 2010 Vieux Telegraphe Chateauneuf du Pape is one of the all-time great Vieux Telegraphes I have tasted in the last 3+ decades. I believe it is even superior to the 2007, which I had several weeks ago. The 2010 boasts a dense purple color along with a sumptuous bouquet of spring flowers, boysenberries, black cherries, black currants, nori (the sushi seaweed wrapper), black olives, licorice and pepper. 2013 Château Peyros Madiran Vieilles Vignes

93 points Wine Enthusiast: "Vines up to 50-years-old are the basis of this rich and tannic wine. While it does have some age, it still has a way to go. Big bold tannins show strongly along with ripe black-plum skins. The wood aging has given this wine a smooth elegant edge that contrasts with the still young fruitiness. Drink from 2021. Made by winemaker Julien Braud, a top-notch Muscadet producer, this rosé is blend of 53% Gamay, 33% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Franc and 4% Pineau d'Aunis. The fun packaging and reasonable price may lead you to believe this is all a gimmick--when a social media blitz erupted over the 2016 Forty Ounce, it became one of our biggest surprise hits of 2017--but don’t let the kitschy package fool you, this is a pretty serious rosé with a vibrant pink hue laced with gorgeous flavors of white cherries and strawberry with a hint of marjoram. It has an undeniable sense of place, capturing coastal breezes and thin sedimentary ridgetop soils in the tight weave of its tannins - the fruit caught halfway between cherry and stone, cool and shady, yet hinting at vibrant rays of sunshine. 2016 Château de Beaucastel Châteauneuf-du-Pape (1.5L) (Pre-Arrival)

99 points James Suckling: "This is a stunning Beaucastel. A classic! Has a superb array of fruit, ranging from red, through to blue, darker purple and black. Nuances of dark, stony minerals, spices, wild flowers and herbs. So fleshy. This has impeccable balance, super-silky tannins and an extraordinarily long finish. This has decades ahead of it. Drink or hold." (8/2018) 97 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Bottled only a week before my visit, I was blown away by how well Beaucastel's 2016 Chateauneuf du Pape was showing. 2017 Hogwash California Grenache Rosé

Winery Notes: "Bright, refreshing, and salmon-pink in color, Hogwash '17 has fresh and lively aromas of rose, raspberry and orange zest. 2016 Patz & Hall Sonoma Coast Chardonnay

90 points Jeb Dunnuck: "The entry-level Chardonnay is the 2016 Chardonnay Sonoma Coast and was aged, on lees, in 32% new Burgundy barrels. Light gold colored with rounded, supple notes of orchard fruits, white flowers, and spice, it has adequate acidity, a supple, forward texture, and a clean, classy finish. It's a rock-solid introduction to the wines of this estate." (6/2018)

1999 Pierres Jacques Druet "Clos de Danzay" Chinon

Pierres Jacques Druet is credited with almost single-handedly raising the profile and quality of the wines from the small appellation of Bourgueil in the Loire Valley. Druet's holdings also included a small Chinon vineyard, Clos de Danzay, comprised of 60-to 80-year-old vines that produce an intensely flavored Cab Franc with excellent potential for aging.

2016 Olivier Leflaive Bourgogne Blanc "Oncle Vincent"

James Suckling: "This is aromatically similar to the Sétilles but with even more citrus influence that continues onto the tighter and more complex flavors that terminating in youthfully austere and sneaky long finish. This is a very good Bourgogne though it's one that will need at least a year or two of bottle age first." (6/2018) Wine Spectator: "A compact style, offering lemon, apple and light spice flavors that take on a tactile feel on the finish. Offers just a hint of citrus peel bitterness for lift. Drink now.
