Corti Brothers "Reserve" Exquisite Whiskey (750ml)

The follow up to the wildly delicious 7 year Exquisite whiskey, the Reserve is a very similar idea. This joint venture between El Dorado Hill's Dry Diggings Distillery and the famous Corti Brothers' store in Sacramento has quickly become one of the whiskey world's darlings. The hybrid style stands out, in that they finish aged Kentucky or Indiana bourbon in incredible old Mission del Sol barrels. California's answer to Portuguese Madeira, this unique dessert wine is the perfect seasoning for a whiskey barrel. We don't always love wine barrel-finished bou... Read More »

2015 Robert Biale "Black Chicken" Napa Valley Zinfandel (375ml)

93 points Wine Enthusiast: "This perennial favorite lives up to its word-of-mouth goodness, offering fistfuls of blueberry and huckleberry with a juicy length and throughput of acidity. Soft and strong, it's supple, floral and memorable in its deliciousness. (VB)" (12/2017) 90 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Medium to deep garnet-purple, the 2015 Zinfandel Black Chicken Vineyard is scented of blueberry pie and plum preserves with hints of baking spices and tilled soil plus a waft of wild thyme. The full-bodied palate is chewy and approachable with a lively kick to the finish. (LPB)" (1/2018) 90 points Wine Spectator: "Zesty and tightly focused, w ...Read More »

2004 Pol Roger "Cuvée Sir Winston Churchill" Brut Champagne

98 points Decanter: "Sir Winston is looking particularly dignified and refined in 2004, with a surprisingly primary, youthful air, yet all the understated poise that one can expect of this classic cuvée. A cascade of impeccably refined acidity swirls into a river of minerality that flows deep and swift all the way to the distant horizon. Effortless grace and youthful vigour lurk under that distinguished exterior. Dense grilled nuts nose, backward and youthful, and shows aromatic depth at the expense of immediate charm. The palate is rich, broad, and weighty, very concentrate ...Read More »

2013 Lynmar "Quail Hill Vineyard" Russian River Valley Pinot Noir

94 points Wine Enthusiast: "*Cellar Selection* Shy in the glass, this wine needs more time in bottle to unravel its complexities of rose petal and cardamom, flanked by crisp red cherry and raspberry. Tangy acidity is the star and backbone of the lovely, structured wine, which is delightful now, but worth cellaring through 2023. (VB)" (2/2016)

2008 Domaine Louis Latour Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru

95 points Wine Enthusiast: "Louis Latour has one of the largest landholdings in this famed vineyard and makes a classic, powerful Corton Charlemagne. The acidity of 2008 gives this wine even greater complexity and a purity of line to go with the power and density. Certainly for aging. - R.V." (11/2010) 92-94 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "An upper register and highly complex nose of green apples, white pear and citrus notes introduces almost painfully intense, pure and impressively powerful big-bodied and overtly muscular flavors that possess an almost aggressive minerality on the palate staining, tension-filled and dri ...Read More »

2015 Château Beaucastel Roussanne Châteauneuf-du-Pape Blanc Vieilles Vignes

94-97 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Even better than the Chateauneuf du Pape Blanc, the richer, more concentrated 2015 Châteauneuf du Pape Roussanne Vieilles Vignes comes from a single parcel of vines located beside the Chateau that were planted in 1909. Full-bodied, rich, gorgeously concentrated and textured, with fabulous notes of orange blossom, buttered citrus, marmalade and honey, it will be up with the crème de la crème of the vintage. 2014 Continuum Oakville Bordeaux Blend

Full body and ultra-fine tannins that are slowly transformed to ripe and beautiful fruit. Super polished and textured. Great finish. Drink in 2022, but it's hard not to drink now. This harkens back to the great Mondavi reserves of the 1970s in texture and construction." (1/2017) 97 points Vinous: "A stunning wine, the 2014 Continuum exudes balance and class. There is excellent vibrancy and slightly better detail as well to the appealingly textured flavors that evidence more prominent minerality on the saline, balanced and solidly powerful finish." (6/2017) 92 points Decanter: "The Perrières is a high-toned, mineral wine, with a bouquet of white flowers, lemon zest and crushed rocks. This is quite dry for the vintage and worth a look." 2009 Canon, St-Emilion

96 points James Suckling: "Aromas of nuts, spices, chocolate powder, then changes to fruits and flowers. Fascinating. Full body, with silky tannins and a wonderful intensity and super polished tannins with a long, long finish. Super refined. Best Canon in years. Try in 2016." (3/2012) 95 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Tasted at the Château Canon vertical, the 2009 Canon is turning into the great wine it was predestined to become. Jade Nouvelle Orleans Absinthe Supérieure (750ml)

The light jade liquid louches to cloudy pale green, releasing gentle fennel, rosemary and fresh basil accented with lime zest and white pepper, plus a long, gentle anise finish. Although it's easy-sipping when louched, the undiluted spirit is ideal for prepping a glass to receive a sazerac. One of the highlights in this range, the 2012 boasts stunning power, depth and harmony. The lifted aromatics recall the Ursules, but here the fruit possesses more volume and creaminess. 2013 Domaine Armand Rousseau Ruchottes-Chambertin-Clos des Ruchottes Grand Cru

91-94 points Vinous: "The 2013 Ruchottes-Chambertin-Clos des Ruchottes is one of the more perfumed, lifted wines in the range. There is good depth on the attack and through the mid-palate but the finish turns a bit compact, albeit with lovely invigorating freshness. It will be interesting to see if the 2013 gains a bit more weight in bottle. (AG)" (4/2015) 93 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "A discreet touch of wood frames mildly reduced aromas such that I would strongly advise decanting this if you're going to sacrifice a bottle in the interest of "science." (KN)" (12/2015) Whisky Advocate: "Although only two years older, this expression of Hakushu — the first to be launched in the U.S. — shows a fleshier side to the distillery’s wares. 2005 Heitz Cellar "Trailside Vineyard" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon

92 points John Gilman: "The folks at Heitz are very bullish about the quality of the Trailside bottling, and given the quality of the fruit here, I can see why this is the case. But this wine has a bit of work to do carrying one hundred percent new oak, and at this young age it is still rather marked by its oak component on both the nose and (to a lesser degree) the palate. To be fair to this wine, it is three years younger than the ’02 Bella Oaks that was tasted alongside of it, and consequently it has had nowhere near the same amount of time to integrate its wood. The finish is where its pedigree shines through, lingering like warm gingerbread and coffee.
