Rock Hill Farms Kentucky Straight Bourbon (750ml)

96-100 points Wine Enthusiast: "*Classic/Highest Recommendation* The nosing passes pick up seductive aromatic notes of toasted walnut, dried red fruits, marzipan, black pepper, spices, cocoa and marshmallow. Entry is zesty, fruity, candied and almost Sherry-like; the midpalate bursts with flavors of cocoa, dark chocolate, chocolate covered almond, coffee, tobacco and dark caramel. Ends smooth, silky, toffee sweet and honeyed. Wow." (12/2008) K&L Notes: This is what Buffalo Trace refers to as their "Rye Recipe" bourbon. It is not a straight rye whiskey, but instead a straight bourbon whiskey with a... Read More »

1990 Krug "Collection" Brut Champagne (direct from Krug 2018)

97 points Vinous: "Krug's just-released 1990 Collection is magnificent. Remarkably fresh for a 26 year-old wine, the 1990 Collection captures the Krug house style at its very best. Floral notes meld into hints of apricot, chamomile, orchard fruit, vanillin and sweet spices. On the palate, the 1990 is creamy, vivid and super-expressive, but what is most intriguing is how fresh the Collection is relative to Vintage Champagne, which has always been a heavier, more oxidative wine. Readers who can find the 1990 should not hesitate, as it is stellar. 97+ (AG)" (12/2016)

This special release from Iwai is aged in rare Japanese Wine Casks from the Yamanashi Winery. The resulting whisky is deep red in color and full of spice and sweet stewed fruit. Medium bodied and easy to drink. Iwai is Japanese most underappreciated whisky, not garnering the media attention that some of their competitors do. But, they continue to product extremely solid and always delicious whiskies for a very reasonable price.

2014 Coutet, Barsac

97 points Wine Enthusiast: "Powered by intense botrytis, this wine is opulent and ripe, with spice, yellow fruit and honey flavors. It has just the right balance of acidity to maintain its shape and proportions. It's likely to age well over many years. Drink from 2024. *Cellar Selection*" (12/2017) 96 points Wine Spectator: "This shows the vivid, racy side of Barsac, with streaming flavors of pineapple, yellow apple, green plum and white ginger, displaying lovely energy from start to finish. Tears of Llorona Extra Anejo Tequila (1L) [Cannot ship, in store pick up only]

The ultra-rare stocks that go into the exquisite Tears of Llorona come from Master Tequilero German Gonzalez's personal stocks. Distilled from hand-selected piñas at La Tequilana, Tears is aged for at least 4.5 years and is supposedly "double barreled." Gonzalez uses his own proprietary yeast strain to ferment the agave, and it is distilled in copper pots, unlike some of Tequilanas' other tequilas, which go through column stills. Each cask is hand selected and blended in ultra-small batches. While I tend to lean away from older tequila (because I don't c... Read More »

Moët & Chandon "Nectar Impérial" Demi-Sec Champagne

Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Yellow-gold with a faint peach skin tinge. Peach, nectarine and spun sugar on the nose. Lush, creamy flavors of sweet pit fruits and melon are deepened by notes of honey and nougat. A touch of orange peel lifts this sappy, off-dry wine, which finishes on a slightly syrupy note. This is easier to drink and less cloying than many examples of sweet Champagne." (12/2009) Wine Enthusiast: "A good benchmark for a sweeter Champagne. In fact, not extravagantly sweet, because the fruit remains fresh, giving pear and apricot flavors, and a pure line in fresh acidity. (RV)" (12/2009) Wine Spectator: "Li ...Read More »

2009 Clos des Papes Châteauneuf-du-Pape

96 points Wine Spectator: "Sinewy and reserved, with a light dusting of cocoa powder over the tangy damson plum, red licorice and cassis notes. The long, supple finish, with a lovely wafting note of Lapsang souchong tea, is packed with minerality and tight-grained tannins that will need time to fully evolve. One of the more backward 2009s, though this should pick up steam in the cellar. Best from 2013 through 2025. (JM)" (11/2011) 95 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Considered by Paul-Vincent to be a hypothetical blend of the '05 and the '07, the 2009 Chateauneuf du Pape was showing its Mourvedre component on this occ ...Read More »

Lovely, elegant and complex, combining Cabernet Sauvignon with Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Malbec. Suntory Hibiki 21 Year Japanese Whiskey (750ml)

2003 Dehlinger "Goldridge" Russian River Valley Pinot Noir

It is full and supple on the palate with just enough tannin for grip, but not so much that the wine calls for extended aging, and its youthfully juicy flavors reiterate the notion that this is a wine to be enjoyed in the here and now." (6/2009) 93 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2007 Problem Child (72% Zinfandel, 16% Syrah, and 12% Mourvedre) showcases Trevisan’s intelligent blending where he takes fruit from some of the area’s finest old vine, dry-farmed Zinfandel vineyards and blends it with Rhone varietals, which results in a far more complex wine than if it were ...Read More »

Vinified all in older barrels and aged 6 years in bottle on lees, it boasts a deep, rich, creamy style as well as full-bodied notes of ripe stone fruits, wood smoke, and spice. It has vibrant acidity, impressive length, and notable purity, all making for a classy, impressive Champagne that will keep for 10-15 years." 2013 Produttori del Barbaresco "Pora" Barbaresco Riserva

The wine is rich and deeply textured, with layers of fruit that continue to build with time in the glass. The tannins are present, but they are nearly buried by the sheer intensity of the fruit.
