2014 Louis Jadot Corton-Grèves Grand Cru (Previously $110+)

92-94 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2014 Corton Grèves Grand Cru, which Frédéric Barnier told me was one of very few that reached full yield this year since it was not touched by hail, has a slight metallic note from a little reduction on the nose, although there appears to be plenty of red berry fruit underneath. The palate is well balanced with supple ripe tannin, crisp red cherry and raspberry notes, a gentle fanning out towards the finish that caresses this mouth. This should become a very winsome Corton Grèves -- lovely! (NM)" (12/2015) 90-93 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "An attractively layered and slightly higher-to ...Read More »

Raymond Ragnaud Pineau des Charentes

One of the most overlooked spirits in the world is France's light and slightly-sweet aperitif - Pineau des Charantes. Made from sweetened grape must and a bit of young Cognac, the Raymond Ragnaud is perhaps the best expression of the style we carry. Imported directly for K&L by Charles Neal, the Ragnaud is best served slightly chilled either before a meal or after. A great substitute for sherry or port when the months turn warmer and you want something more refreshing.

2015 Shafer "TD-9" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend

94 points Wine Enthusiast: "This is a new offering from the producer, sparked by winemaker Elias Fernandez’s desire to make a Merlot-based blend, rather than a varietal Merlot. It is an estate-grown blend of 56% Merlot, 28% Cabernet Sauvignon and 16% Malbec. Rich and concentrated, it’s delightfully robust and vibrant, offering a mix of blackberry, blueberry and caramel chocolate flavors that finish in soft, integrated oak. *Editors’ Choice* (VB)" (3/2018) 93 points Vinous: "An addition to the range, the 2015 TD-9 is a big, full-throttle wine. Merlot is at the core of TD-9, but Cabernet Sauvignon and Ma ...Read More »

Venus Spirits Batch #2 Barrel Aged Gin (750ml)

2008 Domaine Louis Latour Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru

95 points Wine Enthusiast: "Louis Latour has one of the largest landholdings in this famed vineyard and makes a classic, powerful Corton Charlemagne. The acidity of 2008 gives this wine even greater complexity and a purity of line to go with the power and density. Certainly for aging. - R.V." (11/2010) 92-94 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "An upper register and highly complex nose of green apples, white pear and citrus notes introduces almost painfully intense, pure and impressively powerful big-bodied and overtly muscular flavors that possess an almost aggressive minerality on the palate staining, tension-filled and dri ...Read More »

1991 Jordan Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "There is an insatiable demand for Jordan's user-friendly, blackcurrant-scented and flavored Cabernet Sauvignons. The 1991 is more reserved and structured than most Jordan Cabernets. It exhibits medium to full-bodied, clean blackcurrant fruit, a subtle touch of oak, adequate acidity, and a spicy, long finish... Jordan's Cabernet is to be applauded for its mouthfilling and pleasingly supple style that is delicious young yet can age well for 12-16 years. 2015 Domaine du Vieux Télégraphe "La Crau" Châteauneuf-du-Pape (375ml)

Gently spicy, chalky and fragrant, it has a very supple, fleshy and layered palate with a web of fine, smooth and supple tannins. Extremely elegant and composed. A long draw on the finish. Great depth and drive. This will live super long. Try after 2020. (NS)" (8/2017) 95 points Wine Spectator: "This has a lovely, perfumy mix of savory, mint, tobacco, blood orange, cherry and bergamot notes all mixed together, carried by silky but ample structure before ending with a long, mineral- and shiso leaf—inf ...Read More »

Suntory "Yamazaki" 12 Year Old Japanese Single Malt Whisky (750ml)

93 points Whisky Advocate: "The first thing you notice is the elegant fragrance of lychee, spring blossoms, lily, rosewater, and raspberry meringue. Deeper in, grassy notes with star fruit, kumquat, and kaffir lime leaves. The flavors offer perfection in their simplicity: silky honey, soft spices, crystalized pineapple, barley sugar, lemon, and orange. On the finish, the spices chatter on and on as the sweet citrus and honey fade in and out. One to cherish. La Gritona Reposado Tequila (375ml)

La Gritona is the brain child of prolific hardcore guitarist Andy Coronado. It's a big leap from hardcore punk to old school tequila, but what Andy did right was focus on authenticity at a reasonable price. Then he put it in one of the most distinctive bottles you'll ever see and began hawking it out of the back of his van. He searched for the perfect partner and eventually settled on the small Vinos y Licoreras Azteca to produce this special reposado. (7/2017) 92 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "As is usually the case this is more elegant, particularly on the floral and white orchard fruit suffused nose that is nuanced by plenty of classic Chablis elements and in particular mineral reduction. 2015 Maison Joseph Drouhin Chambolle Musigny

Fresh and refined, but also boasts lovely creamy depth and subtle sweetness in the middle palate. A step up in breadth and power from the regular Butteaux, this is a distinctly serious wine with a firm mineral underpinning. The soil here is heavy clay with big rocks (but not much calcaire), which Gicqueau-Michel says normally yields a more rustic style that needs time in bottle.(ST)" (8/2017) 90 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "This is also relatively inexpr ...Read More »

It all began at John Rexer's Bohemian artist refuge, Café No Se, in Antigua, Guatemala. Opened in 2003, Café No Se became the heart of a thriving expat and artisan community of Antigua. As John's business grew, his interest in Mezcal led him to "import" the mystical spirit in very "creative" ways. His customers took to the spirit and to satisfy the growing demand, he was forced to access less seemly trade routes, hence the name Illegal. (5/2017) 90 points Vinous: "Dark-fleshed fruit, mocha, chocolate and sweet spices give the 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate much of its succulent personality. Alberta Dark Batch Rye Whiskey (750ml)

Whisky Advocate: "The U.S.-released Dark Batch is, if not the same whisky as the Canadian-released Dark Horse (both from Alberta Distillers), a very close cousin. It is dark; it’s 1% sherry, which brings the intense dried fruit notes along with cedar and a bright, pleasantly musky note. More Canadians should break the 80 proof barrier: this booms into the mouth, throwing wood, cereal, fruit, and sunshine around. Good to sip, bold in a cocktail, holds its own on ice, nice price.
