2016 Domaine de Bila Haut "L'Esquerda" Côtes de Roussillon-Villages Lesquerde

94-96 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Sporting a deep purple-almost blue-color, the sensational 2016 Cotes du Roussillon Villages Lesquerde l'Esquerda has a northern Rhône-like minerality as well as notes of classic black and blue fruits, crushed flowers, ozone and licorice. Made from 60% Syrah and 40% Grenache, all from granitic soils, it’s a rich, structured, full-bodied and age-worthy red that will drink nicely through 2026. The quality of this release continues to soar and there are not many values like this out there today. (JD)" (4/2017) Wine Spectator: "A savory, meaty red, with charred accents to the d ...Read More »

2015 Domaine de Bila Haut "Occultum Lapidem" Côtes de Roussillon-Villages Latour de France

94 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "One of the more polished, sexy examples of the cuvee, the 2015 Côtes du Roussillon Villages Latour de France Occultum Lapidem checks in as a blend of 50% Syrah, 40% Grenache and the balance Carignan and Mourvèdre, aged all in concrete tanks. It boasts killer notes of black raspberries, cassis, pepper and licorice, with just a hint of chocolate appearing with time in the glass. This medium to full-bodied, layered and beautifully textured red is an incredible value and will be impossible to resist over the coming 4-5 years, and I’m sure it will keep even l ...Read More »

2001 Domaine Henri Gouges Nuits St. Georges 1er Cru "Les Saint Georges"

94 points John Gilman: "It had been several years since I last tasted the 2001 Domaine Gouges Les St. Georges, and I was quite impressed with how the wine is starting to blossom on both the nose and palate and show signs of entering its plateau of maturity in the not too distant future. This is a great wine in the making, as it wafts from the glass in a youthfully beautiful blend of cassis, dark berries, stunningly complex soil tones, chicory, red curry, a touch of shoe polish, woodsmoke and a bit of black tea in the upper register. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied a ...Read More »

2016 Josmeyer "Fleur de Lotus" Alsace (Organic, Biodynamic)

Wine Spectator: "Fragrant, with orange blossom and exotic spice notes, this tangy, light- to medium-bodied white is creamy on the palate, offering flavors of white peach puree, blood orange granita and candied pink grapefruit zest. Pinot Blanc, Pinot Auxerrois, Gewürztraminer and Muscat. Drink now through 2021. (AN)" (2/2018) K&L Notes: From 35 year old vines, a blend of Pinot Blanc, Pinot Auxerrois, Gewurztraminer and Muscat. 2016 Carl Loewen Leiwener Laurentiuslay Riesling Spatlese Mosel

96 points James Suckling: "A mind-blowing wine for this category that has enormous brilliance and succulence, but also a great mineral freshness that literally takes your breath away. How can you resist it now? Who is willing to wait 10, 20, 30 years for this?" (12/2017) 91 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "From small terraces on gray slate and fermented in oak fuders, the 2016 (Leiwen) Laurentiuslay Riesling Spätlese opens with a very clear and aromatic bouquet of slate and mango aromas. Lush, round and juicy on the palate, with piquant acidity and lingering salinity, this is a mouth-filling, very elegant, vital, stim ...Read More »

Medium ruby-purple in color, the 2015 Hartford Court Pinot Noir Warrior Princess opens with warm, red currants, black cherries and violet notes with touches of black soil, stewed tea, garrigue and dried herbs. Medium to full-bodied, the palate offers up a very firm structure of wonderfully ripe, grainy tannins, with a refreshing backbone supporting the intense earthy/savory flavors, finishing long. 2015 Josmeyer "Le Fromenteau" Pinot Gris Alsace (Organic; Biodynamic)

91 points Wine Enthusiast: "Fresh peel of Russet pear appears on the nose with its implication of pleasant bitterness and juicy fruit. The palate is slender and bone dry, showing the purity of the fruit even more. While this is powerful and concentrated, the finish echoes with gentle delicate pears and lemony freshness. (AK)" (8/2017) K&L Notes: 40 year old vines from Herrenweg de Turckheim plots. 2014 Laberinto "Vista Lago" Mezcla Tinto Colbún

Rafael Tirado owns one of Chile's truly original properties in the tiny, high elevation section of Maule Valley called Colbún. Some of the vines are literally planted in a "laberinto" (labrynth) formation, which in Rafael's words would force him and anyone else working the vineyard to slow down and think! This particular cuvee is a blend of Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Syrah, and it is delicious. Savory dark fruit still manages to come across as fresh and comparably lithe on the palate.

2016 Domaine Bart "Champs Salomon" Marsannay Rouge

89-92 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "A similar nose introduces the slightly finer medium-bodied flavors that also possess a polished mouthfeel with good minerality that arises on the dusty and wonderfully refreshing finish. This is a really pretty wine that is so engaging that you just feel like drinking it and it's also one that should drink well young." (1/2018) 91 points Decanter: "The Champs Salomon is the most reticent of Bart’s Marsannays, offering only a reserved bouquet of cocoa, bonfire, meaty bass notes and ripe black fruit. 2011 Jonata "El Desafio de Jonata" Santa Ynez Valley Cabernet Sauvignon

95 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Offering up beautiful Cabernet character, the 2011 El Desafio de Jonata is gorgeous and very Bordeaux like given its density and tannin profile. Blackberry, currants, spice and floral nuances all emerge from the glass and this elegant, layered 2011 has full-bodied richness and depth. Give it another 2-3 years and drink it through 2026. Drink 2016-2026. (AG)" (8/2013) 95 points Vinous: "A deep, implosive wine, the 2011 El Desafio de Jonata boasts tons of pure richness. 2014 Bonny Doon "X Block - Bien Nacido Vineyard" Santa Maria Valley Syrah

95 points Wine Enthusiast: "This is a tremendous example of a cool-climate Syrah, enhanced by 12% Viognier, with cracked black peppercorn, gamy lamb meat, tarragon, rosemary, soy sauce, mint and black currant all present on the nose. The pepper-crusted meat flavor with blackberry jam shows strongly on the sip, finishing with hints of butterscotch and vanilla. *Editors' Choice* (MK)" (2/2018) 90 points Connoisseurs Guide: "Leaving obvious ripeness to others and keying instead on the variety's more savory side, this expressive Syrah plays to peppery spice, game and dried herbs, yet it does not forego fruit and sport ...Read More »

Full-bodied, elegant, fine and restrained, the silken palate has a quiet intensity, finishing long with savory layers.(LPB)" (10/2017) 95 points Vinous: "The 2016 Chardonnay Eastside Vineyard is one of the more open-knit, accessible wines in the range, and the first of these Chardonnays I would choose to open. 2016 Domaine Gerard Mugneret Vosne-Romanée

Not surprisingly the mouthfeel of the medium-bodied flavors is notably more refined with both good energy and detail that continues onto the youthfully austere and solidly lingering finish that is firm and well-balanced. A good quality Vosne villages." (1/2018) 88-91 points Vinous: "Good medium red. Black raspberry complicated by smoky minerality on the ripe, expressive nose. 2015 Aril Wines "Pinot Hill Vineyard" Russian River Valley Pinot Noir

Winemaker's Notes: "This luscious, sophisticated wine comes from a dry-farmed vineyard in the Sebastopol Hills area of the Sonoma Coast AVA. The soils of Gold Ridge loam and Los Osos clay run deep. Dark in color, the wine shows aromas of black cherry, cassis, boysenberry and some floral scents. The palate is bright with a hint of jam and figs that leads to a lingering finish. Great structure and good tannins will provide this wine with long age ability."

2016 Domaine Alain Chavy Puligny Montrachet 1er Cru "Clavaillons"

91-93 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2016 Puligny Montrachet 1er Cru les Clavoillons is reserved and rather aloof on the nose, although that is how we like our Puligny (don’t we?). There are some lovely touches of white peach and yellow flowers here. The palate is marked by a sour lemon note on the entry that complements the energy and concentration conveyed by this Clavoillons. This feels very harmonious with veins of stem ginger and white pepper creating a complex and quite compelling finish and represents one of the best wines from Alain Chavy this vintage. 2016 Aubert "Lauren Vineyard" Sonoma Coast Chardonnay(1.5L)

100 points Jeb Dunnuck: "My favorite in the lineup (although they’d all qualify as a desert island wine) was the 2016 Chardonnay Lauren Estate. Brought up in 100% new oak and with a vibrant gold color (as well as a hint of green), it boasts off-the-chart aromas of caramelized orchard fruits, marzipan, orange peel, Asian spices and honeyed flowers. Deep, multi-dimensional, layered, and perfectly balanced, it hits the palate with a massive blast of fruit, yet is seamless and weightless. Don’t miss it!" 2016 Domaine Albert Mann Riesling Grand Cru "Schlossberg" Alsace

94 points Vinous: "Vivid straw-green. Complex aromas of lemon, apple, minerals and smoke. Very closed and tight on the palate, but at once powerful and ripe, offering saline, fresh citrus and smoky flavors. Finishes long, classically dry (6 g/L residual sugar and 8.1 g/L total acidity) and austere, and is yet another very flavorful wine I tasted from Mann this year without much in the way of octane strength (12.5% alcohol). These grapes were harvested on October 17; according to Marie-Thérèse Barthelmé, the 2016 Schlossberg has the balance of the standout 2008 they made fr ...Read More »

2014 Silvia Rivella Barbaresco

92 points Vinous: "Rivella's 2014 Barbaresco is gracious, silky and very pretty. A wine of perfume and bright fruit, the 2014 speaks to balance above all else. The 2014 possesses compelling inner sweetness and tons of finesse, all in a mid-weight style that can be enjoyed with minimal cellaring. Sweet red cherry, kirsch, wild flowers and mint add an attractive upper register as the wine opens up. In 2014, Rivella's Barbaresco is all class. (AG)" (10/2017)

1997 Doisy-Daëne "L'Extravagant", Sauternes (375ml) (nickel, lightly scuffed label)

98 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "This limited production cuvee (produced only in the greatest vintages) is spectacular. The 1997 (100% Semillon) contains 20% residual sugar, and a well-hidden 14.5% alcohol. The wine is mammoth in the mouth, with layers of unctuously-textured, honeyed tropical fruits, beautifully integrated toasty new oak, plenty of botrytis, and considerable sweetness. It is a triumph in wine making, and will undoubtedly last 50-100 years. Anticipated maturity: 2007-2050+. Readers should note that this offering is only available in one-bottle wood cases! 2017 Xanadu 'Exmoor Drive' Margaret River Chardonnay

Details from the winery: "All components (the majority being Gingin clone Chardonnay) were pressed without crushing, retaining relatively high solids in the juice after settling overnight. 65% of the blend was fermented in seasoned French oak barriques (only 5% new oak in final blend), the remaining 35% of the blend was fermented in tank using an aromatic yeast strain. Wild fermentation was encouraged on barrel fermented components, in order to introduce complexity and personality into the wine. All of the individual barrel fermented batches which make u... 2013 Pian dell'Orino "Vigneti del Versante" Brunello di Montalcino

95 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "This wine will be released in the Spring of this year. The 2013 Brunello di Montalcino Vigneti del Versante exhibits an immediate sense of depth and complexity. Winemaking saw minimal movement or pump-overs because Jan Hendrik Erbach tends to keep his wines in reduction for a long as possible in order to slow down their evolution. This is especially important in an immediate and accessible vintage like 2013. The bouquet wafts from the glass in a youthful blend of cassis, black cherries, dark soil tones, woodsmoke, gamebird and Savigny spices. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied and rock solid at the core, with great backend mineral drive, ripe, chewy tannins and impressive length and grip on the youthful finish.
