2001 Vineyard 29 "Aida" Napa Valley Zinfandel

89-91 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Good full ruby-red. Superripe, slightly porty aromas of black raspberry, cherry, licorice and spices. Rich in the mouth but decidedly dry. Plenty of material here, but just this side of heavy. Finishes with big, tongue-dusting tannins and very good structure and peppery grip. Very youthful, interesting Zinfandel that may well merit an outstanding rating." (5/2003) Wine Spectator: "Ripe and concentrated, loaded with cedar, coconut and vanilla from toasty oak that accents the berry, plum and cherry flavors. Firm structure persists on the finish, but in the end the oak has th ...Read More »

2016 Eguren Ugarte Malvasia Rioja

This family owned winery outside of Laguardia produces wonderful wines, both in a classic mold or - as is the case for this delicious white - as a more modern, single grape variety driven wine. The Malvasia shows lovely melon aromatics and flavors, all while retainining the freshness one hopes for in a white Rioja.

2004 Martinelli "Bondi Home Ranch - Water Trough Vineyard" Green Valley Pinot Noir

90 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Medium red. Lower-toned aromas of strawberry, underbrush and earth. Sweet but dry; big, broad and very ripe, but showing less lift-and more earthy low tones-than the Moonshine Ranch bottling. A bit subdued for this cuvee at this early stage, with red fruit and earth flavors dominating. Finishes with fairly substantial tannins. 2015 Three Sticks "PFV" Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir

92 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2015 Pinot Noir PFV Estate is pale to medium ruby-purple colored with a nose of crushed red currants, red cherries and raspberry leaves with touches of tilled soil and wild thyme. Medium to full-bodied, it fills the mouth with generous red fruits, supported by seamless freshness and silken tannins, finishing long and minerally. (LPB)" (4/2018) Wine Spectator: "A solid, chunky style, medium-weight, showing moderate extraction and plenty of flavor. This falls short in terms of texture. Jacques Selosse "Initial" Grand Cru Blanc de Blancs Champagne

94 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The NV Brut Blanc de Blancs Grand Cru Initial presents an intriguing melange of slate, crushed rocks, lemon, white flowers and ash. An utterly vivid, kaleidoscope of aromas and flavors follow as this crystalline, utterly pure wine comes alive in the glass. As is often the case, the Initial stands out for its focus, vibrancy and tension. The Initial is the freshest of the Selosse wines and is therefore a great introduction to the house style. This release is a blend of vintages 2005, 2006 and 2007, from the villages of Avize, Cramant and Oger.. (AG) ...Read More »

2003 Martinelli "Zio Tony Ranch-Gianna Marie" Russian River Valley Syrah

95 points Robert Parker: "The 2003 Syrah Zio Tony Ranch Gianna Marie has only 14.9% alcohol, which almost makes it seem wimpy compared to their Zinfandels. There are 182 cases of this monster Syrah that boasts classic bacon fat aromas intermixed with blackberry liqueur, cassis, melted licorice, and pepper. This amazingly rich, full-bodied, unctuously textured wine should drink well for at least 10 years or more." (02/2005 & 06/2005)

2002 Dehlinger "Octagon" Russian River Valley Pinot Noir

91 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2002 Pinot Noir Octagon is a small cuvee (around 200 cases) with about 10% stems, and a high percentage of new oak in its upbringing (about 40%). Deep ruby in color to the rim, with a sweet nose of framboise, red apples, sweet cherries, and a hint of darker fruits, this medium to full-bodied wine has a dense ruby/purple-tinged color to the rim and more substance and meat on the palate. It is bigger styled and also probably not as charming and forward as the two previous cuvees. 2003 Flowers "Camp Meeting Ridge" Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir

90 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Good deep red. Raspberry aroma lifted by exotic clove and flowers. Juicy, sappy and tangy, with penetrating flavors of sweet red berries and pepper. This, too, is quite dry in a positive way, and bright on the back end. Very Sonoma Coast in character." (1/2006) Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The spicy, earthy 2003 Pinot Noir Camp Meeting Ridge offers up hints of cinnamon, herbs, and new oak. In the mouth, notions of sassafras, plums, cherries, and allspice emerge. (RP)" (12/2005)

Kentucky Owl Bourbon Whiskey (750ml)

Whisky Advocate: "Good nose: fresh-ground corn, warm oak, and light cinnamon. Impressively friendly even at full proof: corn pudding, sun-warmed oak plank, rich and nuanced cinnamon spice, a powerful engine running strong. A splash of water brings out some sweet berries, revs up the oak and pulls out more spice, and opens up the finish into a full-throated roar of oak, corn, and sweet citrus. This is what happens when you let a good barrel run at full throttle. Sourced whiskey. (LB) (Winter, 2014)"

2003 Martinelli "Martinelli Vineyard Reserve" Russian River Valley Pinot Noir

93 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A sad note is that the 2003 Pinot Noir Reserve’s vineyard, planted in 1975, was finally uprooted and the land sold for a new housing development. The 2003 offers notes of raspberry fruit intermixed with cherries, apple skin, pomegranate, and smoky oak. This full-bodied, concentrated wine has loads of acidity, but also intense richness, making it one of the most concentrated Reserves the Martinellis have produced. It is no shy wine, topping the scales at 15% alcohol, but it is amazing stuff with explosive aromatics. (RP)" (2/2005) 92 points Wine Spectator: "Fleshy, ripe and concentra ...Read More »

2001 Dehlinger "East Face" Russian River Valley Syrah

91 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The outstanding 2001 Syrah East Face is a 270-case cuvee where about 20% whole clusters are utilized in the winemaking. Floral notes intermixed with blackberry liqueur, licorice, and smoke jump from the glass of this dense ruby/purple-colored wine. It cuts a broad, deep, textured palate impression and is very seductive and heady stuff. I was turned on by it, but it probably needs another one or two years of bottle-age. It should drink well for up to a decade. (RP)" (2/2005) 90 points Connoisseurs Guide: "Like each of its siblings, this firmly balanced Syrah sports a fair bit of acid in ...Read More »

2007 Linne Calodo "Outsider" Paso Robles Red Blend

94 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The last 2007 to be released is the 2007 Outsider, a blend of 70% Zinfandel, 20% Syrah, and 10% Mourvedre. Trevisan’s great strength in blending Zinfandel with Rhone varietals continues to make him the leading practitioner of these types of blends. Taking advantage of some of the old Zinfandel planted in limestone in the Paso Robles area, he does a marvelous job turning out a wine that tastes more like a Rhone Ranger than a Zinfandel. 2009 Coutet, Sauternes (375ml)

96-98 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The Coutet 2009 is a sensational effort from Philippe Baly and his team. It has a fragrant nose of honey, vervain tea, pineapple, frangipane and apple-blossom, well defined if needing a little more vigour at the moment. The palate is vibrant on the entry, informed by touches of apricot and orange peel, very focused and tensile towards the long, sensuous, viscous finish. It has the same minerality exuded by Doisy-Daene and reminds me of a stellar ’62 tasted just a few weeks previously. A magnificent Coutet." (4/2010) 96-98 points Wine Enthusiast: "Barrel sample. This should drink well young but reward a few years of cellar time as well." (10/2015) Vinous: "Pale yellow-green color. Cool aromas of green apple and menthol. Full-bodied, dense, and chewy, this wine is probably best drunk during its first decade of life although, since there is no real track record on how these wines age (certainly its high alcohol of 16.2% is going to keep it stable for many years to come)." 1990 Krug "Collection" Brut Champagne Magnum 1.5L (direct from Krug 2018)

97 points Vinous: "Krug's just-released 1990 Collection is magnificent. Remarkably fresh for a 26 year-old wine, the 1990 Collection captures the Krug house style at its very best. Floral notes meld into hints of apricot, chamomile, orchard fruit, vanillin and sweet spices. On the palate, the 1990 is creamy, vivid and super-expressive, but what is most intriguing is how fresh the Collection is relative to Vintage Champagne, which has always been a heavier, more oxidative wine. The palate is well balanced with a fresh and vibrant entry.
