2015 Domaine Vincent Dauvissat Chablis

91 points John Gilman: "Over the years, I have had some beautiful bottles of Chablis villages from Domaine Dauvissat, but the 2015 may well be the best yet! The wine jumps from the glass in a vibrant blend of lemon, apple, pink grapefruit, superb minerality, beeswax and a topnote of white lilies. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied, pure and very racy in personality (particularly for a 2015!), with a fine core, superb backend minerality and a long, zesty finish that is already showing the first hints of the candied lemon peel that will arrive with bottle age. This is pr ...Read More »

2016 Domaine Jean-Paul & Benoit Droin Chablis

89-91 points Vinous: "(mostly "Chablis de Chablis," according to Droin, who explained that this wine does not include fruit from Préhy due to the hail and frost and is mostly from vines located between Vaillons and Montmains): Bright yellow. Ripe aromas of lemon zest, minerals and hazelnut, plus a hint of oatmeal reduction. Densely packed, rich and surprisingly fresh, with intense citrus zest and mineral flavors giving the wine a very firm finish.(ST)" (8/2017) 88-90 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2016 Chablis Villages was showing a little reduction, although Benoît Droin is completely correct in stating that ...Read More »

2015 Domaine Louis Michel 1er Cru Chablis "Forets"

90 points Vinous: "Pale-medium yellow. Pungent scents of lime, pear and musky minerality. At once dense and juicy, with a lovely spine of acidity running through the wine and giving its fresh orchard and citrus fruit and floral flavors very good precision without any hardness. Classic moderately fleshy Chablis from Kimmeridgian chalky marl soil.(ST)" (8/2017)

2015 Louis Jadot Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru "Les Combettes"

89-92 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "Subtle wood notes frame the notably ripe aromas of petrol, apple, pear liqueur and soft floral nuances. There is excellent volume to the full-bodied and very rich flavors that possess plenty of sappy dry extract that confers a seductive texture to the bitter lemon-inflected finale." (6/2017) 89-91 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2015 Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Combettes has an attractive nose: citrus fruit, yellow plum and a touch of egg whites all nicely defined. The palate is fresh on the entry with crisp acidity, quite spicy and lively, although the finish seems to close the show ea ...Read More »

2016 Domaine Jean-Marc Boillot Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru "La Truffliere"

90-92 points Vinous: "Pale yellow. Restrained scents of apple, lemon-lime and white flowers. Lovely silky texture with savory intensity. Tactile, energetic and very dry (just 0.2 grams per liter r.s., according to Boillot). Made from vines on very shallow soil over hard rock, this minerally wine is more backward than the rest of Boillot's premier crus in 2016. (ST)" (9/2017) K&L Notes: 93pts Jasper Morris (MW): "Pale colour with light lemon. Chiselled nose, more limestone than clay, with impressive density. Very rich and dense on entry, then plush but savory and dry in the middle, with lemon and ripe peach flavors accompanied by a slightly exotic suggestion of banana. As much Chardonnay as Charmes today, and less graceful than the Blagny. 2016 Domaine Jean-Paul & Benoit Droin Grand Cru Chablis "Valmur"

92-94 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2016 Chablis Grand Cru Valmur has a clean and precise bouquet that is less expressive and flamboyant than the Vaudésir but with gorgeous yellow plum and lemon curd scents that reluctantly waft from the glass with rigorous aeration, underneath which are scents of cold slate. The palate is very smooth on the entry with just a touch of orange rind and tangerine. Later it becomes more linear and tensile with a Bâtard-Montrachet-like finish! This should turn into a glorious grand cru Chablis.(NM)" (8/2017) 90-93 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "Discreet wood influence sets off a ripe and attract ...Read More »

Exotic orange and honey aromas are freshened by rose petal and menthol on the slightly high-toned nose. At once thick and bracing, with bitter citrus zest flavors complemented by a whiplash of saline minerality; offers outstanding palate presence. There is impressive richness to the concentrated and relatively full-bodied flavors that possess a caressing mouth feel before culminating in a sappy and persistent finish. This isn't classically styled but it is delicious and a wine that should also drink well early on." There is excellent richness, volume and density to the full-bodied flavors that possess plenty of minerality on the powerful lemon-inflected finale that is both persistent and quite dry. 2015 Chateau de la Charriere Santenay Blanc 1er Cru "Beauregard"

Château de la Charrière is one of our most popular direct import producers and a label that easily represents the best bang for your buck we carry in Burgundy. Formerly run by Yves Girardin, the business is now run by his young son Benoit, who definitely has modernized the winemaking a bit since his first vintage in 2011. Whereas the wines were a bit funky and rustic previously, the past few vintages are much cleaner; showcasing greater pureness, The 2015 vintage represents their best wines to date, in our opinion.

The rich, fresh and energetic medium-bodied flavors possess a beautifully elegant mouth feel that continues on to the refined, focused and impeccably well-balanced though notably firmer finish." (6/2017) 92 points John Gilman: "The 2015 Champ Gains is just a touch less racy in personality than the Clos de la Garenne, but this makes sense, as it is not quite as cool of a climat. (12/2017) 92 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2015 Chablis 1er Cru Mont de Milieu has a taut and linear, mineral-driven bouquet with touches of smoke and flint developing in the glass. It has a perfumed bouquet that needs little encouragement from the glass: white citrus fruit, mirabelle and hints of chalk dust. The palate is very pretty with a fine bead of acidity, beautiful poise and impressive vigor. Fat and thick but backward, with harmonious acidity and stony minerality energizing the middle palate. Finishes powerful and long but not hot, with a pungent flavor of crushed citrus peel. Billaud noted that the right side of this grand cru produces more complex wine but needs to be picked later. The bouquet is very promising, offering up scents of apple, lemon, white flowers, beeswax, chalky soil tones and just a hint of vanillin oak.
