2015 Domaine Christian Moreau "Les Clos" Chablis Grand Cru

95 points Decanter: "Tangy, mineral nose with remarkable purity of fruit and lift, showing scents of white peach and apple aromas. Splendid attack, rich and robust on the palate with force and pungency but not aggressive. Nutty and mineral, with a very long and bright finish and impeccable balance." (2/2017) 94 points John Gilman: "The 2015 les Clos from the Moreau family is outstanding this year. The wine is deep, complex and already showing the first touch of candied lemon peel to come in its aromatic profile of apple, flinty minerality, candied lemon, dried flowers and a topnote of beeswax. 2015 Domaine Billaud-Simon Grand Cru Chablis "Vaudesir"

92 points Wine Spectator: "Boasting peach, yellow plum, floral and mineral flavors, this rich, open style is powerful, with a lingering essence of stone. Fine balance and length, leaving a mouthwatering impression. Drink now through 2023." (9/2017) 91 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "Soft wood sets off distinctly ripe and slightly exotic yellow and white orchard fruit that display background nuances of lychee, seaweed and mineral reduction. There is exceptional richness to the dense and seductively textured, indeed even opulent flavors that possess excellent volume along with an attractive minerality that really comes ...Read More »

2015 Domaine Louis Michel Chablis Grand Cru "Les Clos"

91-93 points Vinous: "Subtly complex aromas of peach, earth and high-toned spices. Very silky on entry, then densely packed and closed in the middle, showing less minerality than I normally expect from a young Clos. Gicqueau-Michel says this was the ripest of the estate's three grand crus in 2015 but this wine will need time to move past its phenolic roughness. Finishes powerful and long, but I would not describe this wine as classic Clos." (7/2016) 92 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "An expressive, pure and notably ripe nose of pear, apple and citrus is cut with hints of sea breeze and iodine. There is excellent ...Read More »

2015 Domaine Jean-Michel Giboulot Savigny les Beaune Blanc

Jean-Michel is the third Giboulot to head the family estate in Savigny-lès-Beaune, having resided over the 12 hectares in Beaune, Pommard, and Savigny since 1982. The 2015 vintage might be the best we've yet tasted from the portfolio, one that we've been working with directly now for a number of years.

2015 Domaine Blain-Gagnard 1er Cru Chassagne Montrachet "La Boudriotte"

91 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "A discreet application of wood sets off the mildly exotic aromas of pear and apple liqueur-like nuances. The full-on, rich and overtly powerful flavors are blessed with copious amounts of dry extract before terminating in a balanced, clean and attractively dry and citrus-infused finish that delivers sneaky good length. While this could easily be enjoyed young, a few years of age should help to augment the depth." (6/2017)

(11/2017) 88-90 points Vinous: "(aging in 450-liter foudres): Pretty aromas of lemon, pear and white flowers. A sweet, silky, nicely concentrated fruit bomb on the palate, but with good energy and focus and a finish that avoids any sign of alcoholic bitterness.(ST)" (9/2016) Allen Meadows - Burghound: "Fragrant and ripe aromas consist of resin, petrol, pear and a hint of herbal tea. (BS)" (8/2017) 91 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "Soft wood frames the pretty essence of spiced pear and floral scents that slide gracefully into the slightly stonier medium-bodied flavors that possess better depth on the more persistent finish. This also displays a hint of warmth but it's sufficiently subtle that it doesn't materially lessen the overall appeal." (6/2017) 88-90 points Vinous: "Bright yellow. 2015 Etienne Sauzet Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru "Champ Canet"

91-94 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "Once again firm reduction makes the nose a tough read. The rich, fresh and energetic medium-bodied flavors possess a beautifully elegant mouth feel that continues on to the refined, focused and impeccably well-balanced though notably firmer finish." (6/2017) 92 points John Gilman: "The 2015 Champ Gains is just a touch less racy in personality than the Clos de la Garenne, but this makes sense, as it is not quite as cool of a climat. 2015 Etienne Sauzet Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru "Garenne"

92 points John Gilman: "The 2015 Clos de la Garenne from Domaine Sauzet is a perfect example of the vintage here, as the wine is ripe and offers plenty of fruit muscle, but also shows excellent fidelity to its underlying terroir. The bouquet wafts from the glass in a blend of apple, tangerine, wet stone minerality, spring flowers, citrus zest and vanillin oak. On the palate the wine is deep, fullbodied, pure and complex, with a generous core of fruit, very good cut and grip and a long, intense finish. Spice and good acidity are part of the mix of this opulent, succulent wine. Drink from 2023. *Cellar Selection* (RV)" (12/2017) 92-95 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "Corton-Charlemagne did particularly well in 2015 and the Jadot example is just one more confirmation of that success with its ripe but fresh and airy nose of green apple, citrus peel, floral and wet stone-scented nose. The bouquet is pure, complex and vibrant, delivering a stellar constellation of apple, pear, lemon zest, beautifully complex base of limestone minerality, a hint of mint and a deft framing of vanillin oak. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied, complex and rock solid at the core, with laserlike focus, excellent grip and a very long, racy and perfectly balanced finish. There is once again fine volume to the delicious and caressing flavors that possess an appealing minerality before culminating in an almond-inflected finish that offers very good if not elite depth and persistence. This too should drink well early." The palate is very smooth on the entry with just a touch of orange rind and tangerine. Later it becomes more linear and tensile with a Bâtard-Montrachet-like finish! The bouquet is a stunning blend of pear, apple, lemon, chalky soil tones, a hint of the pastry cream to come, citrus zest and vanillin oak. It has a clean and precise bouquet that reminds me a little of a fine Chassagne-Montrachet. The palate is well balanced with crisp acidity, very good salinity, real tension here with a precise finish that is top drawer. This comes highly recommended.
