Bell's Brewery "Kalamazoo" Stout, Michigan (12oz) Back In Stock!
Bell's Brewery "Kalamazoo" Stout, Michigan (12oz)

From the brewery: "Kalamazoo Stout represents stouts in the Bell's year-round roster, offering a blend of dark chocolate and coffee flavors with just a hint of brewer's licorice. One of our oldest recipes, it balances a significant hop presence against the roast malt body."

Stranahan's Diamond Peak Colorado Whiskey (750ml) (1 bottle limit) Back In Stock!
Stranahan's Diamond Peak Colorado Whiskey (750ml) (1 bottle limit)

92 points Wine Enthusiast: "This 100% malted barley spent two years in new charred oak and boasts an amber color, sweet caramel scent with a touch of coconut and juicy apple, and relatively dry flavors. What sets this whiskey apart is the remarkable deep cocoa and pronounced coffee finish and velvety, creamy mouthfeel, reminiscent of ice cream and root beer foam. An alcohol sting cuts through, but should temper over ice nicely. (KN)" (3/2011)

Alexander Jules Fino "4/65" Jerez de la Frontera Back In Stock!
Alexander Jules Fino "4/65" Jerez de la Frontera

92 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Showing as well or even better than the first bottling, the June 2017 version of the NV Fino 4/65 had more marked Fino character, having been selected from specific barrels of the soleras and criaderas of Fino Camborio from Juan Piñero, which contain wine from Macharnudo and Añina (some 30%). It's a textbook old Fino, pungent, saline and intense, with a powerful palate and great persistence. 1,600 50-milliliter bottles were filled in late June 2017. I'd love to see how this wine develops in bottle. (LG)" (12/2017) K&L Notes: An incredibly elegant series of barrel-sel... Read More »

2006 Pisoni "Estate" Santa Lucia Highlands Pinot Noir Back In Stock!
2006 Pisoni "Estate" Santa Lucia Highlands Pinot Noir

95 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A fabulous effort from the irrepressible Gary Pisoni, this deep ruby/purple-hued 2006 exhibits a sensational perfume of spring flowers, forest floor, black raspberries, even blacker berries, and hints of smoke as well as earth. A sensational texture, full-bodied mouthfeel, and no sense of heaviness suggest this well-structured, moderately tannic wine will last for at least a decade. 1986 Duckhorn Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon

Wine Spectator: "Mature, with complex herb, sage, cigar box and a dried cherry and currant edge. Firmly tannic, this offers more life and vitality than most in this tasting.--'76/'86 California Cabernet retrospective." (Web-2007) (94 points in an earlier review...This remains a big, ripe, intense and concentrated wine, with rich, complex layers of earthy currant, mineral, plum, anise and cedar flavors. 2005 Kistler "Kistler Vineyard" Russian River Valley Pinot Noir Back In Stock!
2005 Kistler "Kistler Vineyard" Russian River Valley Pinot Noir

93-95 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Steve Kistler has backed off extraction for his Pinot Noirs, resulting in more ethereal (but not light) Pinots that are less burdened down by tannin in their youth, with each vineyard’s distinctive fruit and terroir coming through with much greater intensity. After experimenting with some Dijon clones, Kistler became convinced that the best clone for cool climate vineyards is the Calera Clone from California, and based on what he has achieved, I can’t argue. The deep ruby/purple-hued 2005 Pinot Noir Kistler Vineyard possesses sweet blueberry, raspberry, ...Read More »

2016 Bosquet des Papes "Tradition" Châteauneuf-du-Pape (Pre-Arrival)

90-93 points Jeb Dunnuck: "Moving to the reds, the deep ruby colored 2016 Châteauneuf-du-Pape (75% Grenache 12% Syrah 10% Mourvèdre aged in foudre and demi-muid) offers seriously good notes of red and black fruits, lavender and spice. It’s medium to full-bodied, has fine, polished tannin, solid mid-palate depth, and solid overall freshness. Drink it anytime over the coming 10-15 years." (10/2017) 90-92 points Vinous: "Vivid ruby-red. Highly perfumed aromas of fresh red berries, peppery spices and incense expand with air and pick up a smoky mineral aspect. O.P. Anderson Aquavit (1L) Back In Stock!
O.P. Anderson Aquavit (1L)

This famous old Aquavit from Sweden has been out of the market for several years. Launched in 1891, by Carl August Anderson in honor of his father Olaf. Carl took a traditional old recipe of Aquavit (think caraway, fennel and other herbs) and aged it in oak casks to provide depth and roundness. This old aromatized spirit is a staple for the cold Scandinavian winter where it is shot along side traditional drinking songs and nordic fare. But today Aquavit has come out of the cold into its own behind the bar. O.P. is still Sweden's most popular brand of Aqu... Read More »

1978 Ducru Beaucaillou, St. Julien (1.5L)

90 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "An outstanding 1978, Ducru-Beaucaillou's effort displays a fragrant, well-developed bouquet of licorice, earth, black currants, and underbrush. Rich for a 1978, with none of the vegetal character now found in many wines of this vintage, this fully mature, medium-bodied wine exhibits soft tannin, excellent concentration and purity, and a sweet, elegant finish. (RP)" (1/1998) K&L Notes: 92 Points, Neal Martin's Wine Journal: "Served at the Ducru offline in London. 92 points Decanter: "There is good depth and interest to the aromas here, with damson alongside some subtle resin notes. Full-bodied and powerful on the palate, the lush, fleshy plum fruit continues into the long finish. There is ample balancing acidity and tight, fine tannin on the finish. It's a wine that feels more gently steered to its final state rather than micro-managed; it's not overly polished and retains some texture and detail. Beachwood Blendery / Garage Project "Pinky Promises" Belgian-Style Sour Ale w/ Rhubarb & Vanilla, California (500ml)

Beachwood Blendery / Garage Project Collaboration. Last year we had the Garage Project crew over from New Zealand to brew a long term batch with us. We chose buckwheat for the base as we had never used that grain before and knew it had potential. We got a special culture to ferment with along side our house culture. This year after aging we decided to use rhubarb as the secondary ingredient. Again something we had never used before, and it's also in the same family as buckwheat! We also decided to add a touch of vanilla at the end to round it out and giv... Read More »

Long and authoritative finish just sails on thanks to rather regal tannins. *Ranked #4 on Top 100 of 2006, Highly Recommended* (JM)" (9/2006) 93 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "No tasting note given. It possesses that tell-tale Silver Oak, lavishly oaky, Provencal herb, sweet, smoky, jammy black-cherry and cassis-scented nose. Bell's Brewery Amber Ale, Michigan (12oz)

The caramel-malt backbone grounds the experience, with supporting notes of citrus rind, toasted brown bread and burnt sugar. This is the wine that once was called Rüdesheimer Drachenstein, and it’s the wine David Schildknecht said was the best Riesling value in the world, which is because Johannes sells it to us for much less than it’s worth. 1994 Etude Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon

95 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Tony Soter's Cabernet Sauvignon has been a model of consistency. The awesomely rich 1994 Cabernet Sauvignon is another spectacular example of this splendid vintage. It possesses an opaque purple color, a wonderful sweetness, full body, and layers of cedary, mineral, and spice-tinged black berry and cassis fruit. That’s been the case for me with the 1996 Chateau St. Jean Cinq Cépages, Wine Spectator’s Wine of the Year in 1999. With a 95-point rating, 11,000 cases made and a $28 price tag, it was one of the easier picks we’ve made over the years. KleinBrouwerij De Glazen Toren "Cuvee Angelique" Dubbel Speciale Belge, Belgium 750ml

This Speciale Belge beer style was created in 1904 for a brewing contest that was organized by the Universities of Belgium. The goal was to improve the quality of Belgian beer. The winner was a new style, called 'Belge.' Due to the success in the contest, a number of brewers decided to brew the style and called it Speciale Belge. A Speciale Belge is pale amber in color (slighly darker than a pilsner) as brewers tried to copy the color of pilsner in a top fermenting ale. Later the color became darker as pilsners became very common to prove that the style ... Read More »

96 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Good fresh deep red. Knockout nose combines black fruits, tar, mocha and humus. A hugely concentrated, sweet wine with great richness of fruit and extract. The first vintage of Ornellaia to reach 14% alcohol, and it shows in the wine's compelling thickness. Far from the subtlest wine in the range, but ripe acidity and big, sweet tannins give it plenty of verve and grip. Today, I find this wine fresher and a bit more detailed than the estate's 2000. A monumental wine today, but this could still use another four or five years in bottle to reach its peak. ( ...Read More »

The finest wine yet made at La Vieille Cure, the 2003 should be on the shopping lists of consumers seeking tremendous quality/price rapport. The nose offers up a deep mélange of black cherries, a bit of tariness, eucalyptus, cigar ash, fine soil tones, cedar and a topnote of Rutherford dust. 2015 Sociando-Mallet, Haut-Médoc (Pre-Arrival) Back In Stock!
2015 Sociando-Mallet, Haut-Médoc (Pre-Arrival)

93 points James Suckling: "Some graphite and toasted spicy fruits, which create an impressive opening. Iodine and dark berries follow. The palate has a similarly spicy start, which builds waves of fine, ripe tannins that hold impressively fresh and deep. Try from 2022." (2/2018) 90 points Vinous: "One of the standouts of the vintage, the 2015 Sociando Mallet is all finesse. Light on its feet, gracious and super-expressive, the 2015 speaks to class above all else. The flavors are bright and beautifully lifted in this polished, sophisticated Haut-Médoc. Although a touch light, the 2015 is very pretty. T ...Read More »

2003 Monbousquet, St-Emilion Back In Stock!
2003 Monbousquet, St-Emilion

93 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "This was an amazing performance for Monbousquet. The 2003 exhibits plenty of fat and succulence along with a full-bodied, sexy mouthfeel, and lots of black cherry and black currant fruit intermixed with licorice, baking spices and roasted herbs. Fully mature yet in no danger of falling apart or in decline, the color remains a healthy plum/garnet to the rim. This full throttle 2003 was one of the great buys of the vintage when it was first released, and continues to prove that great winemaking and viticultural management from less heralded terroirs can re ...Read More »

2005 Domaine Moillard Pommard 1er Cru "Epenots" Back In Stock!
2005 Domaine Moillard Pommard 1er Cru "Epenots"

89-91 Points from Allen Meadows, who writes: "Interestingly, this is more elegant and aromatically finer with more red pinot fruit than black nuanced by subtle spice, game and earth notes that complement the supple, forward and precise flavors that possess sneaky persistence. I like the complexity here in a style that is very Pommard without excess rusticity." (Burghound, 01/07)
