1990 Domaine de Chevalier Rouge, Pessac-Léognan
Gorgeous aromas of tobacco, meat and dried fruits. Full-bodied, with firm tannins and a fresh fruit and earth finish. Another winner from Domaine de Chevalier.
Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
The fully mature 1990 Domaine de Chevalier exhibits some sweet currant, loamy soil, roasted herb, and spice box notes in its surprisingly complex and noble, but evolved aromas. Medium-bodied with supple tannins as well as very good concentration, it should be consumed over the next 5-8 years.
Rich, ripe nose. Dense and velvety. Interesting - more layers than many of the wines. Round and gentle and layered. Subtle. Slightly volatile and slightly old-fashioned in structure and some rather dry, dusty tannins. Quite long. 17.5/20 points.
