2010 Selvagrossa "Muschén" Marche Rosso
Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
Selvagrossa's entry-level 2010 Muschen is an absolutely joyous red. It bursts from the glass with expressive dark red cherries, flowers and sweet spices. I can't think of too many other wines that deliver this much sheer pleasure for the mouth. Muschen is a 50% Sangiovese, 30% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Sauvignon. Anticipated maturity: 2013-2015.
I've been a huge fan of the Selvagrossa winery in the Marche since I first tasted their wines five or so years ago. The 2010 Selvagrossa "Muschén" is this producer's entry-level wine and is made of 50% Sangiovese, 30% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Franc. It's also ridiculously delicious for the price. Redolent of pretty, restrained red and blackberry fruit, spice and a hint of sweet herb, this wine totally over-delivers, and is highly recommended by yours truly.
