Pierre Moncuit "Cuvée Pierre Moncuit-Delos Grand Cru" Brut Blanc de Blancs Champagne
The NV (2010) Brut Blanc de Blancs Grand Cru Delos is a little richer, rounder and creamier than the Hugues de Coulmet. Almond, lemon, oil, dried pears and flowers all flesh out in a super-inviting gorgeous wine loaded with depth and personality. A creamy, expressive finish rounds things out in this gorgeous, beautiful Champagne. This is a fabulous showing from Moncuit. This bottle was disgorged in April 2013. Dosage was 8 grams per liter.

From old vines in Le Mesnil, this wine’s scents of creamery butter lend luscious richness, but those malolactic notes only add to the length of flavor, without masking its precision. This Chardonnay has a grand pallor, almost goth in its truffle-like earthiness and the feminine delicacy of its mousse.

Bright yellow. Fresh nectarine, pear and tangerine aromas are complemented by deeper-pitched notes of toasty lees and anise. Chewy pit and orchard fruit flavors become spicier and more tangy with air, with a bracing mineral providing focus. The mineral note carries through the persistent finish, which features a suave floral quality and a touch of bitter quinine.
This a tight and mineral wine from Mesnil-sur-Oger in the heart of the Côte des Blancs of Champagne. It’s still youthful, fresh and crisp, with lemon and tangy citrus flavors. The lively character will certainly round out in 5–6 years.
There's good verve to this well-knit blanc de blancs, offering a creamy texture and accessible flavors of lemon curd, white peach, pastry and creamed hazelnut. Disgorged December 2012. Drink now through 2016.
This all Grand Cru, all estate-grown Champagne is composed exclusively from Chardonnay. Nicole Moncuit has been making the wine here since 1977 and uses all stainless steel for the vinification and full malolactic. The average age of the vines at the property is 30 years old, which is much older than the average in Champagne.
