Roederer Estate Anderson Valley Brut
*Editors' Choice* The fruit flavors are apparent, fresh and lively in this medium-bodied, beautifully balanced brut. Light pear and pineapplearomas are followed by richer pear and citrus flavors, and subtle hints of baking spices, almonds and a nice earthy touch emerge.
Sleek and charming, with yeasty apple torte and floral cherry aromas and rich, crisp flavors of lemon curd, spicy vanilla and fresh ginger. Drink now.
Once again taking its place as one of our favorite non-vintaged Bruts, Roederer stands out for its refinement and customary vitality. It marries a bit of citrus and green-apple fruit with incisive, not-too-strident yeast and finds subtle complexities in the form of background minerality. It is fairly tight and very much geared to crispness with a lengthy and wonderfully refreshing finish, and its balance suggests that will hold up nicely for years.
Wine & Spirits
**Best Buy** This is both fresh and substantial, striking a delicious balance between apple-skin spice, tangy lees and a briny seashell character. A festive coastal sparkler to pour with Dungeness crab.
Founded in 1982, Roederer Estate is nestled in Mendocino County's cool, fog-shrouded Anderson Valley. As the California outpost of Champagne Louis Roederer, Roederer Estate builds upon a centuries-old tradition of fine winemaking. Roederer Estate's sparkling wines are produced using only Estate-grown grapes from the winery's own vineyards. Carrying on the tradition of Champagne Louis Roederer in France, special oak-aged reserve wines are added to each blend.
