2014 Lo-Fi Wines Gamay & Pinot Noir Santa Barbara Red

Vineyard: Gamay (81%) Rancho Real Vineyard & Pinot Noir (19%) Kick-On Ranch; Fermentation: Gamay - Carbonic & Pinot Noir - Whole Cluster.The Gamay was hand harvested and fermented in one-ton bins which were gassed twice daily with CO2. The juice from the bins was drained via gravity every second day into a 600L demi-muid. After 14 days, the grapes were pressed and mixed with the previously drained juice. The resulting wine was fermented until dry in a combination of neutral french barrels and demi-muid. The Pinot Noir was hand harvested and foot stomped in a 1.5 ton fermenter. Primary fermentation lasted approximately 10 days, after which the fermenter was pressed directly to neutral french barrels and aged for four months. 232 cases produced.
