2010 Jean-Paul & Benoit Droin Chablis Grand Cru "Valmur"
Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
The 2010 Chablis Valmur is one of the sexier wines in this lineup. It shows a little more juiciness than some of the other 2010s, with shades of yellow stone fruits and a level of pure richness that balances some of the more overtly mineral tendencies of the year. It’s all there in the glass in this magnificent Chablis. The Valmur finishes with marvelous palate staining intensity that at times virtually covers the wine’s minerality. This is an extraordinary wine by any measure. Anticipated maturity: 2014+. (AG)
This is beautifully rich and powerful, with tropical fruit flavors and a hint of wood. It has enormous concentration of sweet, ripe white and yellow fruits, balanced by the sharp cut of acidity.
Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar
Yellow-green. Very ripe aromas of apricot, lichee, honey and spices. Voluminous, soft and fat, with suggestions of exotic fruits. Very oaky now; does it have the depth to support the wood? Finishes dusty and persistent. From ten-year-old-vines.
