2009 Rollan de By, Médoc
Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
Tasted at the Cru Bourgeois 2009 tasting in London. The Rollan de By has a well-defined bouquet with meat-tinged blackberry and sage, with well-integrated oak and lots of character. The palate is medium-bodied with fine definition, very cohesive and very pure with superb delineation and poise towards the finish. This is a top quality Cru Bourgeois. Tasted September 2011. (NM)
Very fleshy, this delicious red shows plum, raspberry and blackberry pâte de fruit notes backed by spice cake, anise and toasty vanilla. The finish is long and polished. Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, and Petit Verdot. Drink now through 2017. (Web Only—2012)
Clean, sweet cassis nose with light oak spice. Very Merlot though there is a slight Cabernet leafiness. Nice chew all melded in with the fruit. Just fresh enough.
70% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Merlot, 5% Petit Verdot.
