Willett 6 Year Single Barrel Cask Strength Bourbon (750ml)

SKU #1050796

The Willet family is a recognized name in American whiskey because they are hands on, family owned, and small production. While their older aged whiskies are wonderful, their six year old should not be overlooked. The grain flavors really show through and the spice is just right with the softening influence or the barrel. This is a super high quality young bourbon that makes other ten and fifteen year blends look foolish. For true bourbon afficionados.

The Willett 6 year is the infant of the Willett offerings we stock, but it is a big boy. At over 60% abv, this takes a healthy splash of water or a few ice cubes to bring it down into less challenging terrain. Once that’s accomplished, it softens nicely and the overall impression is of lush, sweet fruit, particularly peach, but also with a slightly woodsy, cherry dimension. That last combines with the vanilla, cinnamon and brown sugar notes to create an impression almost of cherry pie with a long, supple finish. Attractive stuff!

United States

- When people consider domestic wine, they normally think about the state of California. The fine viticultural Region within California, including the Napa Valley, Sonoma, Santa Cruz Mountains, Mendocino and Santa Barbara, are capable of growing grapes of world-class quality. But there's plenty of fabulous wine coming from other states, too. Oregon, Washington and New York are also causing eyebrows (and glassware) to be raised around the world.
