96 points Vinous: "The 2018 Lytton Springs is magnificent. Elegant, layered and so complete, the 2018 has a lot to offer, but it needs time to fully come together. Sweet red cherry, red plum, blood orange, spice, mint and rose petal open up in the glass. Bright acids and beams of tannin give the wine its vibrant energy. Readers should plan on cellaring the 2018 for at least a few years. Wow! (AG)" (09/2020) 92 points Jeb Dunnuck: "Checking in as 72% Zinfandel, 18% Petite Sirah, 8% Carignan, and the rest Mourvèdre, the 2018 Lytton Springs has a more nua...
93 points James Suckling: "So fresh and elegant with more than enough concentration and structure, this is a fine example of a 2015 Reserva. Ripe-blackberry, licorice, smoke and bourbon notes. I love the velvety texture of the long, intense finish. Better from 2019 and with long aging potential." (08/2018) 93 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The red blend 2015 Rioja Reserva is 80% Tempranillo with 12% Graciano, 6% Mazuelo and 2% Garnacha, a little more Graciano and Mazuelo, something logical in ripe and warm years like 2015. It's produced with gr...
98 points James Suckling: "The intensity of fruit in the nose is so impressive with blackberries, blackcurrants and lavender. Extremely aromatic. Full-bodied, tight and focused with polished and chewy tannins. Blackberries, currants, walnuts and hazelnuts on the palate. Solid core of fruit and ripe tannins. Classically structured." (12/2019) 97 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Blended of 97% Cabernet Sauvignon and 3% Petit Verdot matured for 22 months in French oak, 90% new, this vintage has an alcohol level of 14.9%. Deep garnet purple colored, ...
93 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The current release of the NV Estate Brut is made up mainly of fruit from the 2015 vintage. It is a blend of 60% Chardonnay and 40% Pinot Noir and was made with about ten grams per liter dosage. Disgorged in October of 2018, it has a fresh, open nose with pure fruit expression: crushed apples, pears and lemon peel mingle with touches of stone, flowers and toast. The medium-bodied palate offers a lovely dichotomy of toasty fruits with uplifted citrusy, minerally accents with a finely beaded mousse, and it finishes...
Founded in the small north-German town of Jever in 1848, the Friesian Brewery in Jever hasn't changed all that much since then, except that they use ultra-modern equipment. The Jever Pils is world-famous for its fresh, slightly herbaceous brew with a slight Friesian-bitter taste.

92 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2009 Pinot Noir Block 7 is made from Wadenswil clone. It displays greater spiciness in its expressive nose, plenty of fruit on the palate, and a lengthy, fruit-filled finish. It can be approached now but will last for another 8-10 years." 91 points Wine Spectator: "A bit grippy in texture, but the flavors sing with raspberry, chocolate and nutmeg notes that harmonize beautifully on the delicate finish. 269 cases made."
94 points Bob Campbell: "Ripe, deliciously fruity Sauvignon Blanc with melon, guava and citrus-lime, together with smattering of fresh herbs. A creamy-textured wine with good weight and a lingering finish. Textbook Marlborough Sauvignon. " (06/2020) 90 points Wine Enthusiast: "With a bit of time in the glass, this reveals itself to be an aromatic bombshell. More fruit driven than vegetal, it offers notes of lychee, passion fruit, lime zest and peach, with a subtle snow-pea aroma at the back. The palate is bright and bouncy, with nicely concentrated fru...
91 points James Suckling: "Very fresh, attractive aromas of ripe apples, Asian pears and lemons follow through to a chalky, crisp palate. Fresh and crisp, dry-white style here. Drink now." (12/2019) K&L Notes: Winemaker's Notes: "Hopkins River Ranch is located in the heart of the Russian River Valley southeast of the town of Windsor. We harvest Sauvignon Blanc from two different blocks of the vineyard. The first pick comes from a 40-year-old block of an unknown clone, some of the oldest Sauv Blanc vines in Sonoma County. The second pick is from a valle...

Absolutely incredible opportunity on this creamy, supple Blanc de Blancs that still has great focus and precision and superior, long, mineral finish. Like all of the Thienot vintage wines, this bottling is entirely estate grown from the family's nearly 70 acres of vines.
Price: $59.99
92 points Vinous: "The 2018 Chardonnay Katherine's Vineyard is a gentle, open-knit wine. Soft contours and the tropical accents typical of Santa Maria give the 2018 a very pretty sense of immediacy. Airy and gracious, with terrific precision, the Katherine's Chardonnay is classy through and through. (AG)" (08/2020) 92 points Wine Spectator: "Lithe and powerful, featuring a vibrant core of apple and peach pastry flavors, with dried tropical fruit accents. Buttery midpalate, delivering a plush finish that lingers with intense spiciness. (KM)" (03/2020) ...
90 points Jeb Dunnuck: "Starting with the base Chardonnay, the 2018 Chardonnay is a ripe, nicely textured, concentrated white that has classy buttered citrus and orchard fruit as well as a touch of background oak. It's rock-solid."
Price: $32.95
98 points James Suckling: "Extremely perfumed and decadent with dried flowers and spices and fresh mushrooms. Cherries, too. Full body. Solid core of fruit, yet ever so fine tannins. Goes on for minutes. Such beautifully crafted tannins." (10/2019) 97 points Wine Enthusiast: "Enticing aromas of ripe wild berry, iris, camphor and sunbaked soil take shape in the glass. Full bodied and enveloping, the smooth, delicious palate doles out juicy Marasca cherry, raspberry jam, licorice and tobacco while firm velvety tannins provide support. It boasts concentrat...
Our friends at Black Sheep Finds, a project which began in 2005 when Peter Hunken (of Piedrasassi/Holus Bolus) and Amy Christine (AOC Restaurant) bottled their first Syrah under the "Hocus Pocus" label. It developed an immediate cult following and since then their production has expanded to include a small range of delicious wines that offer great value for the money.
96 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The nose offers vibrant berry scents with accents of charcuterie, mint chocolate, cigar wrapper, violets and pencil shavings aromas, and the palate is powerful but featherweight, silky and fresh with a very long, layered finish. I love this balance of ripe fruit, mineral nuance, aromatic purity and structural power. This has the potential to grow into even more of a beauty with some time in bottle. (EB) 96+" (08/2020) K&L Notes: Young winemaker Jesse Katz is quickly becoming one of the rising stars of the Calif...

After Jim Murray awarded the 2020 Whisky Bible's Whisky of the Year to Barton Distillery's 1792 Full Proof, it's been absolutely impossible to keep their products in stock. While we were able to select a couple of full proof barrels (and bought every one we could because it's delicious) the whiskey is outstanding at any proof, so when we were able to pile on with a barrel of BIB - it was a no brainer.

90 points Wine Enthusiast: "A stony, fresh nose is clean as a whistle, while this feels medium to full, with a faint skin-driven texture and citrusladen acidity. Orange and nectarine flavors are bright and fairly deep, while it remains alert across a snappy finish. (MS)" (12/2019) James Suckling: "Light cherries, strawberries, and white flower notes, even a touch of peach, emerges from the 2018 Rosado and it's medium-bodied, has beautiful fruit, good purity, and a clean finish. This is a refreshing and easy drinking as rose gets and is well worth a mul...

98 points Vinous: "Castellare's I Sodi di San Niccolò is the single most overlooked high-end wine in Tuscany today. The 2016 picks up where the 2015 left off. A rush of inky dark fruit, lavender, spice, licorice, gravel, blueberry and menthol builds as the 2016 shows off its exceptional balance and pedigree. Readers will have to be patient, as the 2016 needs a few years in bottle to fully come together. Even so, the 2016 has been nothing less than spectacular on the two occasions I have tasted it so far. In a word: monumental. (AG)" (09/2020)

89-90 points Vinous: "The NV Red Old Vine Lot 69 OVR is generous and expressive from the very first taste. Black cherry, plum, spice and leather all flesh out in this wonderfully inviting, budget friendly Zinfandel-based red. (AG)" (04/2020)
Price: $12.95
92 points Wine & Spirits: "A 75/25 blend of red-skinned baga and white bical, this is a rich sparkler that brings to mind a shellfish broth with its vibrant salinity, and a raspberry mousse with its supple, refreshing fruit flavors. It’s creamy, with plenty of acidity and bubble to finish on a lovely, clean fragrance. Pour it with grilled langoustines or other rich shellfish." (02/2019) K&L Notes: A blend of red Baga and white Bical grapes, this is a fantastic, very low dosage (this is DRY!) rosé sparkler. Filipa Pato learned from Mr. Bairrada himself,...

90 points Vinous: "Tilth's 2017 Zinfandel is bold, racy and absolutely delicious. Succulent red cherry, plum, blood orange, spice, leather, cedar, chocolate and menthol give the wine its juicy, extroverted personality. This budget-friendly wine from Tilth is absolutely irresistible. (AG)" (05/2019)

100 points Jeb Dunnuck: "The 2009 Pontet-Canet continues to just knock it out of the park every time I’ve been lucky enough to drink a bottle, and this beauty was as good as it gets yet again. Deep purple-colored, full-bodied, beautifully concentrated, and just about off the charts in terms of scale and density, it nevertheless just glides across the palate with an ethereal, seamless texture that never seems heavy or cumbersome. This is pure Pauillac in all its glory and is a monumental wine in every way. Drink it any time over the coming 4-5 decades." (...
93 points Decanter: "This is excellent quality and among the best of the line-up. There is an impressive balance of flavours combining brambly fruits with gentle smoked almonds and charred cedar black spice, and the alcohol is generous but not intrusive. Always a leading name in Lalande-de-Pomerol, doing an excellent job in 2015. (JA) " (08/2019) 93 points Jeb Dunnuck: "The 2015 La Fleur De Bouard is an awesome wine to seek out. Mostly Merlot, it offers a terrific bouquet of cassis and black cherries intermixed with lots of tobacco leaf and lead penci...

92 points James Suckling: "Lots of rich and juicy fruit here with crushed dark berries, chocolate and dried meat. Full body. Flavorful finish. A blend of 92% shiraz and 8% mourvedre. Drink now. " (06/2019) 90 points James Halliday: "A 95/5% blend, made with French oak. Dark purple red, spicy black shiraz fruit with crunchy almost chalky fruit-tannins giving a nice savoury finish to the wine. The oak imperceptible." (09/2019)
95 points Jeb Dunnuck: "Showing even better than when I tasted it last year, the 2016 Vatan (100% Tinta de Toro) is still a baby and sports a deep purple color as well as blockbuster notes of blackcurrants, melted licorice, violets, ground pepper, and earth. It starts out tight and backward on the palate but slowly opens with air. It’s full-bodied, opulent, and powerful, yet still stays light on its feet, balanced, and lively." (10/2020) 93 points Wine Spectator: "Firm and dense, this red delivers rich flavors of blackberry, fig, cocoa, licorice and mi...
98 points Jeb Dunnuck: "The 2018 The Bard is beautiful and certainly in the same realm as the 2015 and 2016, both magical wines. This cuvée reveals a deep purple color followed by a beautiful perfume of crème de cassis, blackberries, roasted coffee, spring flowers, and violets. With incredible richness, no hard edges, and a blockbuster finish, this incredible wine offers serious opulence with no sensation of heaviness or weight. It's beautifully done and already complex and nuanced." (08/2020) 98 points Vinous: "The 2018 The Bard is fabulous and also o...
This limited edition gem is redefining the Stolen brand as well as Jamaican rum in general. We see very little well aged pure pot still Jamaican rum and when we do it tends to be rather expensive. Stolen Rum sourced these 5000 bottles from the exceptional Hampden Estate and it represents the essence of Jamaican Rum's potential. Hampden is renowned for its traditional fermentation and distillation practices. Very little has changed there in the many centuries that they've been cultivating, processing, and distilling sugar cane. One interesting component o...

The coastal, cool Atlantic influenced region of Bairrada has a strong tradition in producing Champagne method sparkling wines. As this rosé from Sidonio de Sousa shows, these are serious sparklers! 93 points Vinous: "The 2018 Pinot Noir (Sta. Rita Hills) is a glorious wine. A burst of sweet red/purplish fruit makes a strong opening statement that reverberates off layers of savory and floral intensity. Deceptive in its mid-weight structure, the 2018 packs a serious punch. Readers who want to get a sense of the year would do well to start here. This striking appellation-level Pinot is one of the overachievers of the year. Then again, vineyard sites are Domaine de La Côte and Sanford & Benedict, which was not bottled separately, but used for wine. The...
After Jim Murray announced that the 2020 Whisky Bible's Whisky of the Year goes to Barton Distillery's 1792 Full Proof, it's been absolutely impossible to keep their products in stock. Here we've batched together barrels 4216 and 4217 for the K&L Exclusive Small Batch Bottling. For just 35 bucks you can get a hold of a tiny batch of some of Kentucky's Finest Bourbon.

91-93 points Vinous: "The 2019 Puligny-Montrachet La Garenne 1er Cru, from a single plot at the top of the slope close to Hameau de Blagny, has an austere, granitic bouquet that demands coaxing from the glass. The palate is well balanced with a fine edginess on the entry, concentrated with good density, notes of tangy marmalade and spices coming through on the expressive finish. This is a lovely La Garenne that should age with style. (NM)" (12/2020) 91 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2019 Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru La Garenne exhibits aromas...

94 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "2019 was a milder year than 2018, and the 2019 Cenizas de Laberinto Sauvignon Blanc is marginally more civilized than the 2018 I tasted next to it. It was kept with the lees in the fermentation vessel for some eight months. Even so, in this part of much cooler Maule, the differences between vintages tend to be more subtle, and 2019 is not a warm vintage, just less cold. Perhaps the wine is a little rounder, more citrusy than herbal and surprisingly has lower alcohol than the 2018 I tasted next to it. It has terri...

94 points Wine Spectator: "Steeped Black Mission fig, plum and blackberry flavors are melded to warm fruitcake, dark licorice and Turkish coffee notes. Despite the profile, this is defined, with a subtle sanguine hint adding detail on the seductive finish. (JM)" (11/2020) K&L Notes: The ranch where the Altamura vineyards and winery are located has been in the family since the 1850s and is situated high in the southeastern foothills above the Napa Valley in a small area known as Wooden Valley. The properties of S.Pellegrino Sparkling Natural Mineral Water were renowned as early as the 12th century. Legend has it that Leonardo da Vinci visited the source while living in Milan. The use of the water for therapeutic treatment did not begin until the 18th century, due to the difficulties in reaching its remote location. In 1842, the town decided to sell 75 percent of the spring to Ester Palazzolo, on the condition that the remaining share be given to the residents of San Pellegrino Terme, who could draw the water from an external tap free of charge...

One of the most beloved of Cappelletti amari is this ode to the mountain range just south of Rovereto in Northern Italy. Flavors of pine, blueberry, smoke and alpine plants give a true expression of place. The deep flavors and lush texture are also the result of its preparation on a rich wine base.

93 points Vinous: "The 2017 Chardonnay Los Alamos Vineyard is a very pretty, open-knit wine that will drink well upon release. The Los Alamos is not quite as complex or dynamic as the very finest Chardonnays in this range, but it more than makes up for that with its soft curves and open-knit, welcoming personality. Baked apple, lemon confit, spice and a touch of vanillin grace this creamy, alluring Chardonnay. (AG)" (09/2019)

93 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2017 Mourvèdre Harrison Clarke Vineyard is medium to deep ruby-purple with jammy blueberry, black cherry, cassis, olive and fried bacon notes plus lilac, black raisin, fried herbs and granite tinges. Medium to full-bodied, it fleshes out in the mouth with oodles of ripe fruits and meaty layers, firm, pleasantly chewy tannins and great juicy acidity, finishing long. This has a nice interplay of savory nuances with dense, lush fruits. (EB)" (09/2019) 93 points Vinous: "The 2017 Mourvèdre Harrison Clarke Viney...
99 points James Suckling: "The purity of fruit in this wine really strikes you with black cherries, combined with sage, lavender and rosemary. Extremely aromatic. Full-bodied, yet so tight and polished with incredible tannin structure that gives the wine an endless mouth feel of caressing tannins, acidity and fruit. There's a fabulous saltiness and oyster-shell undertone to the fruit. Unique. Drinkable already, but this year there's the structure to last decades." Though Middle Eastern wine is something of a novelty in the U.S., wine is nothing new to this area; the cultivation of the vine goes back to the Phoenicians, who did a brisk business trading their wares along the Mediterranean Sea ports, introducing viniculture into many parts of southern Europe. Perhaps the oldest running wine concern in the region, Chateau Musar has been making fine wine 15 miles north of Beirut since 1930! These are reds of great character and subtlety, decidedly Old World in style. The grapes are hand-picked as the sun rises across t...
