This exotic, all-Mesnil Grand Cru Blanc de Blancs is made in oak barrels coopered from oak grown in Mesnil. It is named after Severine Launois, the current generation making the wines. We were only able to secure five cases of this!

Alexandre le Brun is a young, ninth generation winemaker in Monthelon in the Ardenne (Marne) region of Champagne. His family established themselves in Champagne in 1750 and their cellars were built in 1822. We were very pleased to meet him and are very excited to carry his wines.

2009 Alexandre Le Brun "Cuvée Dilection" Brut Rosé Champagne (Previously $80) (Previously $80)
Top Pick!
Alexandre Le Brun is a young winemaker from Monthelon in the Ardenne (Marne) region of Champagne. He is a ninth-generation winemaker. His family established themselves in Champagne in 1750, and their cellars were built in 1822. The delectable Dilection is based on the incredible 2009 vintage with 85% Chardonnay and 15% Pinot Meunier. Only French oak is used and the vineyard where the grapes are sourced was planted in 1902. It is rich, but classically dry with dark cherry and strawberry fruit on the finish, which lingers.

2007 Thiénot "Black Ball" Blanc de Blancs Brut Champagne (Previously $120) (Previously $120)
Top Pick!
Absolutely incredible opportunity on this creamy, supple Blanc de Blancs that still has great focus and precision and superior, long, mineral finish. Like all of the Thienot vintage wines, this bottling is entirely estate grown from the family's nearly 70 acres of vines. From the winery: "In 1985 Alain Thiénot launched his eponymous Champagne House, driven by his experience as a courtier and close-knit relationships with Champagne growers. This was quite a challenge in a sector where the greatest names began their existence as early as the 18th century. ...

92 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "If you enjoy overtly yeasty Champagne this would make a good choice as there is plenty of it here framing the relatively elegant nose that combines notes of citrus, white flowers, pear and apple scents that display wisps of secondary development. The old vines definitely are in evidence here with fine mid-palate density that is supported by a moderately fine mousse, all wrapped in a delicious, sappy and lingering finish. This isn't a particularly refined example but I quite like it for its complexity and clear concen...

93 points James Suckling: "Plenty of vinous red-cherry, berry and plum aromas, smelling really fresh. The palate has supple, crisp and open-knit, fleshy-fruit appeal with a succulent, fleshy cherry finish. Drink now." (09/2018) 92 points Wine Spectator: "A toasty version, this is lightly chewy in texture, with mouthwatering acidity framing flavors of steeped black cherry, singed orange peel, wild herb and dried fig. Rich and distinctive. Try this with duck à l'orange. Drink now through 2022. (AN, Web-2017)" 90 points Vinous: "(all Pinot Noir; 10 g/l d...

90 points Decanter: "Opens with a fanfare of peach, pear and spiced lemon; subtle architecture in the mouth with a chalky subtext and attractive orchard fruit, transported by a flowing mousse. Pretty accomplished and serious. (Panel Tasting)" (02/2017) K&L Notes: If you have enjoyed the wines of Lallement, Bollinger and Krug in the past, I think you will very much enjoy Michel Arnould. They are bold, masculine Champagnes with plenty of toasty flavor. This is a blend of 75% Pinot Noir and 25% Chardonnay, entirely from estate vineyards in the Grand Cru o...

91 points Wine Spectator: "Richly spiced, with ground anise, clove, ginger and cardamom, this offers a lively bead, fresh acidity and flavors of quince, honey, pastry dough and golden raisin. Offers a soft, creamy finish. (AN)" (12/2012) 90 points Wine Enthusiast: "This has finesse and elegance, with a thin stream of bubbles and crisp, dry apple flavor. It is taut with a cool feel. (RV)" (12/2012) K&L Notes: This is one of the best Champagnes we carry, regardless of price. Made from the one-and-three-quarters-acre Belles Voyes vineyard in Oger, this ...

Wine Spectator: "Soft and round, with vanilla custard, grapefruit and ginger flavors. Has good length and balance overall, picking up more of a citrus edge on the finish. (BS)" (12/2006)
Price: $64.99

90 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2012 Premier Cru Extra Brut is sourced in Bouzy and Écueil and was picked between September 20th and October 3rd. The wine blends 55% Pinot Noir with 45% Chardonnay and was fermented 60% in Burgundian pièces. The straw-yellow colored wine offers a clear, precise and refreshing citrus aroma with mineral notes and good intensity. Full-bodied and charmingly round on the palate, this is an intense, lush and fruity vintage with a refreshing mineral finish. Disgorged in March 2017 with a dosage of four grams per li...

If you haven't had the tiny production Champagne, this is a rare opportunity to do so. They only make 14 barrels of this wine, and it is the last of the production from their oldest vines, which were destroyed in the hail of 2003. We only received 36 bottles of this, which is entirely 2002 although not labeled as a vintage. It is composed of 50% Chardonnay, 25% Pinot Noir and 25% Meunier that is barrel fermented, but not aged in oak. They bottle in February at Aspasie, so this wine saw less than six months in barrel. It is incredibly rich, powerful Champ...

David Schildknecht writes: "A Fleury was allegedly the first French grower (in 1904) to replant Pinot on American root stock after phylloxera; his son (at the time very exceptionally) turned to domaine-bottling to ride out the Depression; and two generations later, Jean-Pierre Fleury became – by a considerable margin – Champagne’s first biodynamic grower. The self-described naturalism and minimalism of this pioneering estate – encompassing its minimal use of sulfur – can sometimes result in Fleury wines with an oxidative overlay or in other respects on t...

This small, all estate grown Champagne is sourced from only one vineyard, the Clos Boursault, an ancient walled vineyard just west of Epernay on the Marne. They make only a tiny amount of vintage at Le Gallais, and we only received 36 bottles of this wine. It is a blend of half each Pinot Noir and Meunier from old vines on the property dosed at just 4 grams per liter. It doesn't need more than that, as this is a real 2009, with ripe power to spare. If you like powerful Champagne, this clean machine is loaded with structure. The texture is supple, the bea...

93 points Wine Spectator: "This vibrant rosé is tightly knit and racy, with a floral overtone and flavors of peach skin, white cherry, whole-grain toast and chalky mineral showing finely honed precision as they ride the creamy, detailed mousse. (AN)" (11/2019) 92 points James Suckling: "A bright nose of strawberry and pink-grapefruit aromas with hints of blood oranges and berries, as well as almond biscuits. The palate has a super vibrant, fleshy ball of fresh red-fruit flavor and delivers a refreshing, minerally finish." (07/2019) 92 points Robert P...

Bollinger "Special Cuvée" Brut Champagne
Top Pick!
93 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "There is lovely complexity to the distinctly yeasty nose that combines high-toned green apple, pear, white flowers and gentle citrus nuances. The clean and sleek flavors are supported by a crisply firm but fine mousse where the finish is medium dry and lingering. It's not all that often that I suggest that readers cellar NV Brut but this is an example that absolutely cries out for it. I suspect that the texture will materially change for the better (i.e. become creamier) and better depth will be in the offing as well...

Billecart-Salmon Brut Rosé Champagne
Top Pick!
93 points James Suckling: "Cinnamon and dried nutmeg add to the experience of bread dough and rose petals. Flavorful on the medium-bodied palate and finely poised with bright acidity. Medium-long on the finish." (05/2019) 93 points Decanter: "Gentle red fruits rise from the glass. In the mouth it's attractively bright and youthful, with citrus and cranberry notes. The very fresh acidity and primary fruits give way to autolytic notes and cappuccino with time, followed by a long, savoury, saline finish. (JS)" (12/2018) 92 points Wine Spectator: "Lacy in...

2008 Laurent-Perrier Brut Champagne
Top Pick!
96 points Wine Enthusiast: "While still young, this Champagne has all the makings of greatness. Produced from grand cru vineyards, it already balances ripe white fruits with a firm structure that will age well. It’s relatively dry and has plenty of acidity, which will also aid in the longevity.. *Cellar Selection* (RV)" (12/2019) K&L Notes: This all Grand Cru blend, which is composed of 50% each Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, is the best I have ever tasted from Laurent-Perrier, and should go the distance if you decide to cellar it. Don't miss this fantasti...

93 points Connoisseurs Guide: "Blanc de Blancs are generally regarded as the lighter, more elegant members of the Champagne family, and, if this expressive and involving effort from Gosset hits the mark for refinement, it goes well beyond the norm in terms of sheer richness and depth. It is as complex as Blanc de Blancs is wont to get and sports layer upon layer of brioche, biscuits and cream, but for all of its autolyzed extras it is still spry and vital with life to spare. It is an altogether compelling Champagne best sipped slowly and on its own, but ...

91 points Wine Enthusiast: "From the heartland of Chardonnay in Champagne comes this rich, creamy, apple-flavored wine. It has lively acidity, balanced with some sweetness from the dosage. It has weight and a crisp aftertaste. (RV)" (12/2012) 90 points Wine Spectator: "Lightly floral, this creamy crowd-pleasing Champagne shows good balance, with a lively mix of Honeycrisp apple, passion fruit and smoked almond. (AN)" (12/2015) Jancis Robinson: "100% Chardonnay from Oger, Cramant and Avize. From a 50-ha estate. Olivier Bonville is the third generation...

Laurent-Perrier "Cuvée Rosé" Brut Rosé Champagne
Top Pick!
96 points Connoisseurs Guide: "Elegant and fruity at the same time with a quick invitation from bright, pure cherryish notes and then filled out handsomely by whiffs of chalky soils and well-integrated, rich and uplifting yeast-driven scents, this wine manages to be both vigorous and layered at one and the same time. Its bubbles are insistent, finely carved and add to the early sensations of lightness and energy yet also carry the wine long into a balanced, refined finish. And its latter palate grip is exactly what one should expect from the genre. While...

Ruinart Brut Blanc de Blancs Champagne (ships as a 1.5L due to bottle size/shape)

93 points James Suckling: "This Champagne has a strong following and it's easy to see why with the attractive ripe chardonnay fruits delivering white and yellow peach, mango, nectarine and lemon cream aromas and flavors. Smooth, sorbet-like palate." (10/2017) 93 points Wine Spectator: "Graceful, sleek and finely knit, with a subtle range of nectarine, lemon curd, almond blossom and ground ginger flavors, expanding on the silky mousse. Ruinart Brut Rosé Champagne 750ml bottle (ships as a 1.5L due to shape of bottle)
Top Pick!
93 points Wine & Spirits: "This deep pink rosé starts off from a delicate scent of spice and roses, strawberries and the freshly turned earth of a garden. It grows more powerful and grand with air, building fresh raspberry pinot vinosity, a fragrant essence of limestone and fruit that lasts." (12/2013) 93 points Wine Spectator: "This is harmonious and bright, featuring sleek acidity layered with the lacy mousse and an expressive range of white peach, ripe raspberry and pickled ginger flavors, with hints of smoke and biscuit. Elegant. (AN)" (09/2018) ...

90 points Wine Enthusiast: "A selection of wines with a good amount of reserves in the blend has produced this Champagne that is both toasty and freshly fragrant. The edge of acidity and spice contrasts with the more mature feel that comes through at the end. (RV)" (12/2019) Wine Spectator: "A firm, elegant style, this reveals floral, dough and candied berry notes. Harmonious, ending with a refreshing crispness. (BS)" (12/2006) K&L Notes: This all-estate Champagne is aged for six years on the lees and is composed of 70% Pinot Noir, 15% Chardonnay an...

Wine Enthusiast: "This is Trudon's entry-level wine, with a nod to the family's historical use of 100% malolactic and reserve wines. Pinot Meunier and Pinot Noir make for an open and very drinkable Champagne. Soft acidity and ripe apple fruits partner with a generous structure and richness. Drink now. (RV)" (12/2018) K&L Notes: This Champagne is composed of 70% Pinot Meunier, 30% Pinot Noir and is aged three and a half years on the lees. The exotic, pure Meunier fruit in this Champagne marries with the creamy, delicately toasty aromas and flavors. The ...

96 points James Suckling: "Just over two-thirds Pinot Noir (Verzenay) and the balance southeast-facing Chardonnay from Chouilly. This has 30% of oak fermentation which has compressed the wine, lending it an air of extreme concentration. The nose is gently spicy, offering peaches and cherries as well as neat autolysis edge. The palate has a powerful, long and assertive feel, with peach and lemon pith, chalky minerals, and some grapefruit. A powerful vintage for Roederer." (01/2018) 95 points Wine Enthusiast: "This beautiful wine, with its poise, eleganc...

Aromas and flavors of little wild red fruits, as well as an array of cool, crisp reed and green apples on the palate. Super fresh. Drink now. " (09/2018) 91 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The pale golden colored NV Extra Brut displays a beautifully clear, complex and elegant bouquet of ripe seed fruits such as apples and pears intermixed with the complex, mature expressions from the reserve wines, which account for up to 5...

94 points Vinous: "The Extra-Brut Cuvée No. 742, based on the 2014 vintage, is a gorgeous wine. In this release, the Cuvée seems especially marked by Pinot in both its flavor profile and texture. Dried pear, hazelnut, mint, chamomile and dried flowers all grace this rich, beautifully resonant Champagne from Jacquesson. Best of all, the 742 will drink well with minimal cellaring. The 700-series Champagnes are often superb; the 742 is an especially fine edition. The blend is 59% Pinot Noir (from Aÿ, Dizy and Hautvillers) and 41% Chardonnay (from Avize and ...

92 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "This bottle of the NV Rosé Réserve was based on the 2008 vintage, with the addition of 20% reserve wines and 5% or 6% of still red wine from Les Riceys in the Aube; it was disgorged in 2017, with 11 grams per liter dosage, meaning that it has spent longer sur lattes than most recent releases of Heidsieck's rosé. Salmon-pink in hue, it unfurls in the glass with a reserved bouquet of red berries, orange rind, brioche and gingerbread that will become more expressive with bottle age. On the palate, the wine is medium...

92 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "An elegant, pure and airy nose combines notes of citrus peel, soft yeast and plenty of green apple, pear and petrol scents. There is excellent intensity to the crisp, intense and focused flavors that terminate in a very dry and linear finish. As is almost always the case with Vilmart wines, the supporting effervescence is quite fine and overall, this could be enjoyed young or easily held for another 5 to 7 years depending on your preferences." Pierre Peters "Cuvée de Réserve" Brut Blanc de Blancs Champagne
Back In Stock!
92 points Decanter: "Youthful nose, hints of banana and mango adding an exoticism; the palate is fuller, equally interesting, refreshing and pure with assured bubbles, the creamy biscuity notes subservient to a minerally, chalky substrata. (Panel Tasting)" (02/2017) 91 points John Gilman: "As is customary with this bottling from Rodolphe Péters, the wine is a blend of 50% of its base year of 2014 and 50% from last year’s blend, which had gone into the family solera of reserve wines that dates back to 1988. The vins clairs here do not entirely go throug...

94 points Decanter: "A different style emphasis, as Storrington Priory gave a shy yield this year so the blend is based on 90 per cent Mount Harry. Beguiling scents: citrus freshness with sweet crushed seeds. On the palate opens almost juicily, then grows in elegance and refinement as its structure and stony qualities become apparent. Complete and satisfying (60% Chardonnay and 40% Pinot Noir, half oak fermented and no malo; half steel fermentation with malolactic). 93 points Wine & Spirits: "This is the same base wine as Yellow Label, with the addition of 12 percent red wine to boost the color and the wine’s depth of wild raspberry flavor. It’s Burgundian-rich, a pinot noir as a serious Champagne with complexity, muscular structure and vinous length of spicy fruit." (12/2019) 92 points James Suckling: "Aromas of crabapple, orange peel and dried strawberries. Full-bodied, layered and very flavorful, yet there's a creamy texture and a bright and vivid finish. Shows energy. VCP does excellent rosé. Drink now." (09/2...

91 points Vinous: "Light yellow-gold. Potent, mineral-tinged Meyer lemon, pear and buttered toast aromas show very good clarity and a hint of anise. Sappy and focused on the palate, offering bitter pear skin and blood orange flavors that deepen and expand with air. Rich yet lithe Champagne with strong finishing cut, lift and stony persistence. (JR)" (01/2015) 91 points Wine Spectator: "A fresh and expressive Champagne, featuring lively green apple, cherry, tea rose and toast notes. Strawberry shortcake, almond croissant, brioche and a splash of blood orange stand out among a rainbow of delicious flavors. It's dry but not too tart, with endless details. Disgorged in the spring of 2018, this vintage-dated bubbly should drink well for another decade. *Editors' Choice* (PG)" (10/2019) K&L Notes: Winery Notes: "91% Pinot Noir, 9% Chardonnay. 95 points James Suckling: "Really attractive ripe and pure chardonnay sourced from the Côte de Blancs villages of Avize, Cramant, Chouilly and Mesnil-sur-Oger. This has bright ripe peaches and nectarines in addition to mangoes, lemons and – not to mention some background chalky aromas. The palate's a riot of fleshy and flavorsome Chardonnay fruit with a helping of stone fruits and another of green mango flavors and deeper-set citrus zest. Seamless balance flows to the finish. Drink now. Superb!" (10/2016) 93 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The N...

93 points Wine Enthusiast: "This blend of 55% Chardonnay and 45% Pinot Noir is certainly dry. It is also packed with ripe fruits that balance the dryness. With its acidity and taut mineral texture, the wine is intense and concentrated. This bottling needs to age a few months. (RV)" (08/2018) 92 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The current NV Ultra Brut is a 52% Chardonnay and 48% Pinot Noir blend that is based on the 2007 vintage; it includes – as always – a reserve of the former Ultra Brut vintage, in this case 2004. In fact, the Ultra Brut is p...

92 points Vinous: "The NV Rosé Brut Grand Cru is another gorgeous Champagne from Paul Bara. Rich, resonant and super-inviting, the Brut Rosé has so much to offer. I especially admire the wine's breadth and expansiveness, both of which give it the versatility to drink beautifully as an aperitif or at the dinner table. The blend is 80% Pinot Noir (including 12% still Pinot) and 20% Chardonnay. Dosage of 8 grams per liter feels a bit on the high side, but this is nevertheless an absolutely joyous Champagne. 94 points James Suckling: "White fruit immediately on the nose, as well as some very strong lemon and lime notes. Some gently chalky notes, too, from the Chouilly chardonnay, which is super chalky. The palate has such focus and drive and a great, mineral core. Very long with a fresh line of acidity and peripheral, smooth flesh. Some pink grapefruit at the finish. Drink or hold." (09/2019) 93 points Wine Enthusiast: "A smoothly textured wine, this is perfectly in balance, with red berry and currant fruitiness assimilated into the lightly tannic and cris...

95 points Wine & Spirits: "This is made in the traditional oeil de perdrix style, prevalent in Champagne before Dom Pérignon and his contemporaries began sorting out the press fractions. The blend includes 85 percent Pinot Noir, almost all of it direct pressed, producing a wine with the kind of pale pink color that’s hard to resist. There’s a whisper of tangy, forest-fresh wild strawberries in a brisk, cool springtime scent. The texture is delicate, with creaminess that’s light and ethereal." 94 points Wine & Spirits: "This is the first new cuvée to be introduced by Alice Paillard, who took over management of the house from her father in 2017. Like the Première Cuvée, it is a blend from 30 crus, this one including one-third Pinot Meunier from the right bank of the Marne Valley, the balance equal parts chardonnay and Pinot Noir from the north-facing slopes of the Montagne de Reims. This is a fascinating wine, the most vinous of Paillard’s current releases, offering quiet scents of fresh pear, dried caramel and honeycomb without any hint of swe...

92 points John Gilman: "The new Lanson 'Green Label' non-vintage Brut is the first wine from this fine Champagne house made entirely from organically-farmed grapes certified by Eco-Cert. This is an important and very laudable step from Lanson and I was very happy to find the wine absolutely superb. The wine hails from eight hectares of vines that Lanson bought from LeClerc-Briant when the proprietor of this house passed away in 2010, and which had been farmed biodynamically for several years prior to the sale. The cépages here is a bit different from the...

This is the sweetest Champagne we carry, and although you have to search the label carefully, it is labeled as Doux, the sweetest designation on the ladder of dosage. This designation applies to all Champagne at 50 grams per liter or greater of sugar, and is historically the original style of sparkling Champagne. The Clicquot Rich is dosed at 60 grams per liter, 10 times the sugar of some of our drier Bruts, and composed of 45% Pinot Noir, 40% Meunier and 15% Chardonnay. This Champagne is made to be served on ice, and accompanied by a fresh highlight ing...
