94 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2014 Pinot Noir Bearwallow Vineyard is a solid step up over the Anderson Valley release and has more tension, elegance and precision. Offering up classic notes of strawberries, spice, black cherries and a touch of sous bois, it has medium to full-bodied richness, terrific purity of fruit and integrated acidity. Give bottles a year or two and drink through 2026. While the majority of 2014s are charming and supple, that’s certainly not the case with these latest releases from Kevin Harvey. I found all of his 20...

94 points Vinous: "The 2014 Pinot Noir Sanford & Benedict Vineyard is striking in its beauty. Dark, layered and inviting, the Sanford & Benedict is superb. There is something magical about S&B. Gavin Chanin has captured it all. Deep, pliant and expressive, the 2014 has a lot to say. What a gorgeous wine this is. (AG)" (09/2016) 92 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2014 Pinot Noir Sanford & Benedict Vineyard is another terrific Pinot Noir from Chanin. Rose petals, strawberry, spice and forest floor notes all emerge from this medium-bodied, silk...

2014 TWR (Te Whare Ra) "SV5182 - Single Vineyard" Pinot Noir Marlborough
Back In Stock!
96 points James Suckling: "A sense of depth of fruit with astute winemaking here. Deeply ripe red and black cherries sit amid violets and fresh, lightly earthy notes. The palate has bright, lithe and juicy red cherries with some forest-floor, woody and leafy notes. Fine but sturdy tannins and a subtly spicy finish. Super length. Drink or hold. Screw cap. *#16 Top 100 New Zealand Wines 2018*" (10/2018) 96 points Sam Kim: "The wine shows a great degree of elegance as well as complexity and intensity; the seductively expressed bouquet shows spiced cherry,...

2014 Bien Nacido Estate "The Captain" Santa Maria Valley Pinot Noir (Previously $100) (Previously $100)
Back In Stock!
97 points Vinous: "The 2014 Pinot Noir Bien Nacido Vineyard The Captain is one of the very finest wines I have tasted from Trey Fletcher and Bien Nacido Estate. Silky, floral and nuanced, the Captain is all finesse. The purity of the red-toned fruit is simply remarkable. As striking as the 2014 is today, it best drinking lies in the future." (09/2017) 94 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2014 Pinot Noir The Captain wafts from the glass with complex aromas of wood smoke, wild berries and savory forest floor. On the palate, it's medium-bodied, c...

90 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A lively, fresh, floral, peppery and berry-fruited effort, the 2014 Pinot Noir Santa Cruz Mountains (one-third whole cluster) from the team at Fogarty is medium-bodied, elegant and impeccably put together. It opens up nicely with time in the glass, has nicely integrated acidity and clean, classy feel that will drink nicely for 4-5 years. (JD)" (10/2016) Connoisseurs Guide: "Fairly outgoing and smelling of red cherries and strawberries with accents of sweet baking spice and a slight savory touch of herbs off to ...

92 points Wine Enthusiast: "Pungent layers of earthiness, a mix of black tea, compost, clove and forest pine, are at the forefront of this structured, densely packed red. The fruit in this wine shows a lean tart slice of wild strawberry and cranberry. The body is structured and elegant, with plenty of complexity for aging. Enjoy 2020–2024. (VB)" (07/2018) 91 points Wine & Spirits: "An early harvest and a generous crop produced this red-fruited beauty, its bright cherry flavors wrapped in the smokiness of new oak. This vintage is directly fruity, though...

91-93 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "Once again prominent wood stops just short of dominating the overtly spicy nose of cassis, black cherry, lavender and warm earth scents. There is excellent power and volume to the concentrated, intense and mouth coating mineral-driven flavors that culminate in an impressively long and balanced finish. This is a bigger wine than the Grèves and should amply reward mid-term cellaring. *Sweet Spot, Outstanding*" (04/2016) 92 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Tasted blind at the Burgfest 2014 tasting, the 2014 V...

Among the top producers of Spätburgunder, Weingut Friedrich Becker is on the cutting edge of quality for the most exciting category in German wine. Wine Advocate's Stephan Reinhardt writes, "Weingut Friedrich Becker, today directed by father Friedrich and son Fritz, is well known for its top class Pinot Noirs... These are excellent efforts from the calcareous family vineyards that are located in Schweigen-Rechtenbach on this side and beyond the French/Alsatian border." (12/2015)

98 points Bob Campbell: "An intense, velvety Pinot Noir, with strong sweet cherry, Oriental spices, plum, violet and nutty oak flavours. A powerful wine in a style that often attracts criticism for being too big and lacking varietal identity, but you only need to taste this wine after a decade in bottle to begin to appreciate its wonderful potential and true varietal character. Deliciously approachable now but much better later." (01/2016) 98 points Sam Kim: "This is impeccably composed. Fragrant aromas of dark cherry, blueberry, violet and mixed spice...

95 points Sam Kim: "An outstanding Pinot; the superbly expressed bouquet shows dark berry, vanilla, smoked game, truffle and mixed spice aromas, followed by a concentrated palate that is multi-layered and velvety. It is gratifying and seductive with layers of complex flavours and silky mouthfeel, backed by seamlessly woven fine tannins. " (07/2019) 92 points Bob Campbell: "Reasonably dense, medium-bodied pinot noir, with an interesting savoury dimension adding extra complexity to primary fruit, plum and cherry flavours. Quite strong toasty oak suits th...

94-97 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "There is enough wood to notice along with a hint of menthol on the markedly earthy red and dark berry fruit aromas where background hints of spice and floral elements are in evidence. The overtly powerful and concentrated broad-shouldered flavors display almost painful intensity before culminating in an explosively long and very firmly structured finish where once again a hint of bitter cherry appears. This is an interesting wine of contrasts as the mid-palate, even with all of its intensity, possesses a caressing...

95 points Vinous: "The 2014 Pinot Noir Alpine Vineyard bristles with energy. Rose petal, mint, white pepper and blood orange give the Alpine its super-appealing aromatic upper register, but there is plenty of depth lurking beneath. Here the flavors are bright and nicely focused, while the richness of the vintage is mostly felt in the dense, potent finish. (AG)" (07/2016) 94 points John Gilman: "The 2014 Alpine Vineyard Pinot Noir from Rhys is another outstanding young bottle of Pinot, with its whole clusters showing a bit today, but all of the constitu...

94 points Wine Enthusiast: "This is a layered and complex estate-driven wine. Its firm, sizable tannin foundation promises longevity and enviable structure, while allowing for a plush, lush exuberance of cherry clafoutis, cardamom and salted caramel. Enjoy best 2022 through 2029. *Cellar Selection* (VB)" (02/2017)

2014 Domaine Tollot-Beaut Beaune 1er Cru "Clos du Roi"
New!
90 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "Here the expressive nose features a pretty mix of various red berries, plum and plenty of earth character that is also reflected by the suave medium weight flavors that possess a sleek mouth feel thanks to the relatively fine-grained tannins before culminating in a dusty, focused and energetic finish. This is not presently as complex as I believe that it will become if allowed a few years of bottle age so this is something to bear in mind." (04/2016) 90 points Wine Spectator: "Sweet cherry and currant flavors pick ...

91 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2014 Pinot Noir Trenton Estate Vineyard has a pale to medium ruby-purple color and expressive cranberry, cherry cordial and violets nose with touches of dusty earth, mossy bark and sage. Light to medium-bodied, the palate sports a great intensity of cranberry and earthy notes, structured by firm, chewy tannins and lively acidity, finishing long. (LPB)" (04/2017) 90 points Wine Enthusiast: "Earthy and smooth, this is a light, crisply ripe wine. It offers a delicate layering of baked raspberry, citrus and car...

Allen Meadows - Burghound: "Here too there is prominent wood and menthol present on the markedly spicier nose of red currant, raspberry, black cherry and a hint of anise. There is a supple and appealingly silky texture to the mid-palate thanks to the notably fine-grained tannins, all wrapped in a seductive finale. This is very Vosne in style but as pretty as this is it doesn't quite have the overall depth of the Chambolle." (04/2016)
Price: $69.99

Allen Meadows - Burghound: "There is plenty of sauvage character present on the fresh and cool nose of earth-inflected dark berry and plum aromas that are trimmed in a deft touch of oak. There is fine vibrancy to the well-detailed medium-bodied flavors that possess an attractive texture on the moderately rustic, complex and balanced finish where a hint of bitter cherry is discernible." (04/2016)

95 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A wine I think is the best vintage to date, the sensational 2014 Pinot Noir Horseshoe Vineyard comes from one of the top sites in all of the Santa Cruz Mountains. Incredibly complex, with layers of sweet black cherries, black raspberries, barnyard, wild herbs and spice, it has medium to full-bodied richness, a pure, impeccably balanced texture and a great finish. Drink this gorgeous Pinot Noir anytime over the coming 10-15 years. (JD)" (10/2016) 95 points Vinous: "The 2014 Pinot Noir Horseshoe Vineyard is one o...

Of the 2014 Big Basin "Coast Grade Vineyard" Santa Cruz Mountains Pinot Noir,Wine Enthusiast writes: "This wine is a study of how to make Pinot Noir both extremely light and yet powerfully flavorful. Underripe black raspberry meets with white pepper and dill on the nose. The bright and lively palate dances across the tongue with thyme, rosemary and pine flavors against tart red fruit. It's easy to guzzle. *Editors' Choice* (MK)" (06/2017)

Bid on this 5-bottle lot of 2014 Domaine A&P de Villaine Mercury Rouge "Les Montots". Allen Meadows - Burghound: "There is good freshness to the airy and cool aromas of various red berry fruit earth and humus scents. The sleek and tautly muscular medium weight flavors retain a fine sense of detail before culminating in an utterly delicious if ever-so-mildly rustic finale that delivers excellent length for a villages level wine. This will require a few years of patience but the upside is evident. Drink 2021+ *Outstanding*" (10/2016)

Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2014 Brittan "Estate - Gestalt Block" Willamette Valley Pinot Noir (95JS, 93RP, 93WE, 92VN). Yet there is restraint and tone to this young red with a fantastic texture and intensity on the finish. Always tight and toned." (11/2016)

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2014 Kosta Browne Sonoma Pinot Noir Horizontal, including 1-bottle of 2014 Kosta Browne Russian River Valley Pinot Noir (93RP, 91CG, 91VN, 91WS) and 2-bottles of 2014 Kosta Browne Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir (93RP, 90CG, 90VN, 90WS). Of the 2014 Kosta Browne Russian River Valley Pinot Noir,Robert Parker's Wine Advocate writes: "The appellation 2014 Pinot Noir Russian River Valley from this team is a smoking effort. Mostly destemmed and brought up in 44% new French oak, it's loaded with notions of black raspberries, toasted spice, licorice and underbrush. These give way to a full-bodied, concentrated, textured Pinot Noir that packs plenty of fruit, while never losing the elegance and purity of the variety. It will evolve every bit as well as most of the single vineyard releases. (JD)" (09/2016)

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2014 Evening Land "Anden - Seven Springs Vineyard" Eola-Amity Hills Pinot Noir (94DC, 93W&S, 92WS, 91RP). Decanter: "A complex and decidedly savoury bouquet of creamy raspberry, wild plum, spiced orange and mossy sous bois leads into a rich but taut wine structured around bright acidity and fine tannin. It is deep and sapid at the core. From the oldest vines on the Seven Springs Vineyard, beset by phylloxera. Fermented 100% whole cluster. (WK)"
Starting Bid: $110.00

Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 2014 Evening Land "La Source - Seven Springs Vineyard" Eola-Amity Hills Pinot Noir (96W&S, 93JG, 93WS, 90RP). Wine & Spirits: "La Source comes from the highest point of Seven Springs, and takes advantage of some of its shallowest soils. This is Raj Parr and Sashi Moorman’s first start-to-finish effort after taking over the winemaking of Evening Land’s Oregon wines in January 2014. Despite some concern about stem ripeness, they used 25 percent whole clusters in La Source, and the resulting wine feels effortless and complete. The spice is tea-like and, at first, demonstrative; then the fruit pulls into view and the wine is suddenly airborne, twirling like a dancer, the exuberance of the fruit reined in by the stems, the stems’ assertions mellowed by fruit—the dance itself a deft measure of the wine’s complexity. Packed with flavor, the wine feels weightless all the same … " (04/2017)

Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 2014 Booker "RLF" Paso Robles Pinot Noir (95RP, 92VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A change up from the 100% Grenache cuvees of the past, the 2014 RLF is 100% Pinot Noir, and it's a damn good one as well. Sporting a deeper ruby color and offering up overflowing notes of black raspberries, toasted spice, sweet oak, forest floor and a touch of marine-like saltiness, this beauty is medium to full-bodied, sexy, seamless and layered on the palate, with a terrific finish. Hats off to winemaker Eric Jensen, who's known as a Syrah and Grenache guy, for this smokin' effort. It should drink nicely through 2024 (although there's no need to hold off). As I've commented in the past, the wines from Eric Jensen at Booker are some of the most impressive releases coming out of California. While in the past, they relied on pure fruit and texture to impress, today they possess layered, elegant and complex characters paired with serious depth, richness and structure. While

Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 2014 Domaine Arlaud Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru "Les Noirots" ((90-92BH), (88-90RP), 90VN). Allen Meadows - Burghound: "Reduction. The attractively textured, rich and velvety medium weight flavors also coat the mouth with extract before concluding in a caressing and relatively fine finish in the context of what is typical for Noirots. A quality effort from one of the lesser known Chambolle 1ers." (01/2017)
Starting Bid: $200.00

Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2014 Cameron "Clos Electrique" Dundee Hills Pinot Noir (92VN). Vinous: "Vivid red. Expressive, mineral-laced cherry and red berry aromas are complemented by musky floral and herb nuances. Spicy and focused in the mouth, offering juicy red berry and bitter cherry flavors that slowly become sweeter and deeper on the back half. Shows refreshing spiciness and cut on a very long, penetrating finish that's framed by silky, harmonious tannins. (JR)" (11/2016)
