94 points John Gilman: "The 2014 Charmes-Chambertin from Domaine Taupenot-Merme is outstanding on both the nose and palate. The pure and complex nose wafts from the glass in a classic blend of red and black cherries, gamebird, mustard seed, coffee, a fine, complex base of soil, smoky overtones and a nice touch of vanillin oak. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied, focused and beautifully sappy at the core, with fine-grained tannins, lovely focus and grip and a very long, very pure and absolutely vibrant finish. Fine, fine juice. 94+" (04/2016) 9...

95 points Decanter: "A lovely bouquet of red fruit, orange rind, rich soil and dried ceps is framed by new oak, introducing a full-bodied, elegantly ripe rendition of this elusive wine. It is structured around fine, chalky tannins and a deep and juicy core. Characterful, complex and ageworthy, even in a warm and comparatively facile vintage, this wine deserves its reputation as one of Oregon's greatest Pinot Noirs. (WK)" 93 points Vinous: "Limpid ruby-red. Black raspberry, cherry cola, pungent flowers and a hint of woodsmoke on the deeply perfumed nose....

94 points Wine Spectator: "This red combines graphite, sweet oak and cherry aromas with wild strawberry, cherry and currant fruit. Ripe and silky, this cruises to a lingering finish of berry and mineral. Displays fine intensity and length on the spicy finish. Best from 2020 through 2035. " (05/2017) 93 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "This is slightly fresher than the straight Corton with its slightly more elegant combination of lavender and lilac-inflected red berry liqueur, earth and softly spicy aromas. There is excellent intensity to the medium-b...

95 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Coming from the high density plantings done by the team at Rhys (it's also a cellar selection as well), the 2014 Pinot Noir Porcupine Hill Bearwallow Vineyard is another best to date cuvee and is easily the most concentrated and lengthy of the three cuvees from this site. Black raspberries, black cherries, tons of minerality and ground herbs emerge from this young, tight and beautifully focused red that needs 3-4 years of cellaring and will drink beautifully over the following decade or more. (JD)" (10/2016) 94...

92 points Wine Enthusiast: "Crisp boysenberry and black raspberry aromas meet with lthyme, oregano and a touch of caramelization on the nose of this Sea Smoke bottling. Dark cranberry fruit shows on the palate, lifted by anise, pepper and an array of herbs, all framed by a leathery texture. (MK)" (04/2017) 91 points Wine Spectator: "Features an ironclad structure, with lots of graphite and slate accents to the dense dark currant and dried plum flavors, supported by firm tannins. Accents of chocolate nibs show on the finish. Needs some short-term aging ...

2014 Domaine Arnoux-Lachaux Latricières-Chambertin Grand Cru
91-94 points Vinous: "(vinified entirely with whole clusters and aged in 80% new oak): Healthy deep red. Sexy aromas of red berries, spices, pepper and crushed stone. Distinctly extract-rich, rocky wine with terrific sappy energy and tensile strength. Comes across as a bit cooler in character than the Echézeaux and finishes with serious building tannins. The family's holding is in the highest, windiest part of this grand cru, including one parcel that's surrounded on three sides by woods and thus receives less afternoon sun. (ST)" (01/2016)

93 points Wine Spectator: "Broad and sturdy, boasting cherry, raspberry, earth and spice flavors. Vivid acidity and tannins provide structure, allowing the finish to persist, with fruit, spice and earth notes. Remains fresh and lively throughout. Best from 2019 through 2032. (BS)" (05/2017) 92 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "A highly complex if quite restrained nose grudgingly exhibits notes of red currant, spice, smoke, earth and the sauvage. There is excellent power and plenty of punch to the broad-shouldered and reasonably concentrated flavors th...

2014 Cirq "Bootlegger's Hill" Russian River Valley Pinot Noir
Back In Stock!
93 points Vinous: "The 2014 Pinot Noir Bootlegger's Hill is super-expressive today. Sweet tobacco, dried flowers, mint, dried herbs and a burst of orange zest give the 2014 lovely aromatic undertones to play off the red-toned fruit. Silky, pliant and open today, the 2014 is showing beautifully. This is an especially gracious, silky Pinot Noir for Russian River. (AG)" (08/2017) 92 points Wine Spectator: "A very delicate style, with an emphasis on understated cherry, raspberry and red plum notes that glide across the palate. Offers very fine-grained tann...

2014 Cirq "Treehouse Vineyard" Russian River Valley Pinot Noir
Back In Stock!
94 points Vinous: "The 2014 Pinot Noir Treehouse is more typical of the Russian River in its boisterous, racy personality and dark fruit profile. Black cherry, cola, spice and menthol are some of the many notes that flesh out in this ample, resonant Pinot. Richly textured and phenolic in feel, the Treehouse is another winner from CIRQ and proprietor Michael Browne. (AG)" (08/2017) 92 points Wine Spectator: "Plump and juicy, featuring a supple core of plum, blackberry and raspberry flavors, turning spicy and loamy, with a hint of black licorice. The fru...

97 points John Gilman: "The 2014 Bonnes-Mares from Christophe Roumier is a stunning young wine. The great nose soars from the glass in a very vibrant blend of red and black cherries, raw cocoa, woodsmoke, incipient gamebird, violets, mustard seed, a magically complex base of soil and vanillin oak. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied, pure and rock solid at the core, with that inimitable combination of sappy fruit and stunning transparency that make the very best 2014s undeniably profound wines. The finish is very, very long, ripely tannic and sea...

95 points Vinous: "The 2014 Pinot Noir Alpine Vineyard bristles with energy. Rose petal, mint, white pepper and blood orange give the Alpine its super-appealing aromatic upper register, but there is plenty of depth lurking beneath. Here the flavors are bright and nicely focused, while the richness of the vintage is mostly felt in the dense, potent finish. (AG)" (07/2016) 94 points John Gilman: "The 2014 Alpine Vineyard Pinot Noir from Rhys is another outstanding young bottle of Pinot, with its whole clusters showing a bit today, but all of the constitu...

96 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Coming from a small, east-facing section of the Alpine Vineyard and very chalky soils, the 2014 Pinot Noir Swan Terrace is an impeccably balanced, complete Pinot Noir that has everything you could want from the grape. Gorgeous red and black fruits, roasted herbs, smoked earth and spice all jump from the glass of this seamless red that has polished tannin (and plenty of them), a layered, balanced profile and no shortage of length. Like all of these 2014s, it needs short-term cellaring and will have two decades of ...

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2014 Kosta Browne Russian River Valley Pinot Noir (93RP, 91CG, 91VN, 91WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The appellation 2014 Pinot Noir Russian River Valley from this team is a smoking effort. Mostly destemmed and brought up in 44% new French oak, it's loaded with notions of black raspberries, toasted spice, licorice and underbrush. These give way to a full-bodied, concentrated, textured Pinot Noir that packs plenty of fruit, while never losing the elegance and purity of the variety. It will evolve every bit as well as most of the single vineyard releases. (JD)" (09/2016)

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2014 Domaine Trapet Père et Fils Chambertin Grand Cru (97JG, 96RP, 95BH, (92-95VN)). John Gilman: "The 2014 Chambertin from Domaine Trapet was the youngest wine in the cellar and was still a bit adolescent in profile, as it was in the midst of absorbing its new wood and slower in its evolution in cask than the other two grand crus. However, it is also very easy to see that this is going to be a brilliant wine, as it offers up scents of red plums, red and black cherries, grilled meat, kaleidoscopic black minerality, woodsmoke and cedary wood. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied, pure and rock solid at the core, with stunning purity, fine-grained tannins and excellent grip and focus on the very, very long finish. A great, great example of Chambertin in the making." (11/2015)

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2014 Kosta Browne Santa Lucia Highlands Pinot Noir (93RP, 93WS, 91CG). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Another sensational appellation release is the 2014 Pinot Noir Santa Lucia Highlands. Coming from an early vintage that was over two weeks ahead of average, it has tons of spice, black raspberry, currants and blackberry characteristics, medium to full-bodied richness, a great texture and no shortage of depth or length. Already impossible to resist, drink it anytime over the coming 7-8 years. (JD)" (09/2016)
Starting Bid: $185.00

Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 2014 Kosta Browne Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir (93RP, 90CG, 90VN, 90WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The last of the appellation releases, the 2014 Pinot Noir Sonoma Coast was brought up in 55% new French oak, which is slightly more than the 2013. Deep, rich and earthy, with notes of bouquet garni, smoked earth, licorice and dark fruits, it has full-bodied richness, a big mid-palate and is packed with gorgeous amounts of fruit. It's a big, rich wine from this cool climate appellation, yet I suspect it will show more classic Sonoma Coast characteristics with a year or two in bottle. It's a beautiful wine. (JD)" (09/2016)
