90 points Vinous: "The 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon is an attractive, mid-weight wine. Sweet red cherry, raspberries mint and eucalyptus flesh out nicely in the glass. The 2012 could use a bit more mid-palate generosity and overall depth, but it is solid nonetheless. (AG)" (10/2015)

93 points James Suckling: "Opulence and richness come through here as well as a currant and berry character. Even so, there's an underlying firmness that gives this structure and energy." (12/2016) 92 points Wine Spectator: "Exhibits a rich, tapered core of dark berry, anise, cedar and loamy earth, with firm yet rounded tannins that support the fruit mix, giving this traction and depth. Drink now through 2028." 90 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon Brandlin Estate (100% Cabernet Sauvignon) exhibits a dense purple color,...

92 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The impressive 2012 Reserve Tapestry, a blend of Bordeaux varietals, is more elegant and slightly less intense than the Private Reserve. It offers up sweet black cherry fruit notes intermixed with licorice, spice box and dusty, loamy soil undertones. Medium to full-bodied and deep with loads of ripe fruit, low acidity and sweet, velvety tannins, it can be enjoyed over the next decade. Drink through 2024. (RP)" (10/2014) 91 points Vinous: "The 2012 Reserve Tapestry, BV's Cabernet Sauvignon-based blend, is pliant...

94 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon comes from a south-facing vineyard in the Northern Napa Valley. It has a dense ruby/purple color, slightly more structure and density than The Sisters, and while it’s better, The Sisters 2012 is so strong an effort that it might be the smarter one in terms of the differences in price. Nevertheless, the Jones Family 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon has plenty of cassis, blueberry, floral notes, full-bodied opulence, excellent purity, texture and length. (RP)" (10/2014) 93 points Vinous: "The 2...

96 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Living up to its barrel tasting notes, the 2012 Proprietary Red Firebelle (54% Merlot, 21% Malbec, 13% Petit Verdot and the rest Cabernet Sauvignon) was aged 18 months in 62% French oak. Sweet blackcurrant, blackberry, licorice, chocolate and loamy soil notes are followed by a savory, expansive, opulent, dense yet approachable and exuberant wine. It is best consumed over the next 12-15 years. (RP)" (10/2014) 94 points James Suckling: "This is about half merlot with malbec and cabernet franc. A velvety yet fresh...

96 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon Calistoga is a killer effort. Sweet blueberry, black raspberry and blackberry fruit along with notes of vanilla, toast, licorice, incense and spice box emerge from this full-bodied, classic Napa Cabernet. With good acidity, ripe tannin and a broad, savory, multidimensional mouthfeel, this fabulous wine represents 200 cases of 100% Cabernet Sauvignon aged in 75% new oak. The finished alcohol is 14.3%. 96 points Wine Spectator: "Deliciously rich and layered, with seductive mocha- and espresso-laced oak wrapped around a dense core of currant, blackberry, licorice and vanilla flavors, providing torque and finesse. The flavors gain depth and nuance. Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc. (JL)" (08/2015) 94 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2012 Proprietary Red (which I did not taste last year) is stunning stuff. Production is under 100 cases, and the blend is 40% Cabernet Franc and 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, another brilliant example of just what ...

93 points James Suckling: "A balanced and beautiful red with chili, black currants and blackberry character. Full body, round and firm tannins and a long, long finish. A beautiful Groth. Drink or hold. " (07/2015) 91 points Wine Enthusiast: "This structured wine is lithe and ethereal in dried herb and cranberry, with a hint of pencil lead. Puckering tannins suggest aging through 2020, to draw out the more succulent layers of black cherry and plum. The wine has 12% Merlot. *Cellar Selection* (VB)" (11/2015) Wine Spectator: "Offers a pleasantly balance...

2012 Larkmead Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon

94 points James Suckling: "Aromas of currant, blueberry and brick character. Some dried herb too. Full body, firm and racy tannins plus dark berry, dark chocolate and mahogany. Wonderful finish." (07/2015) 93 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The soft, delicious, complex 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate offers notes of cedarwood, blackcurrants, baking spices, Asian soy, crème de cassis, licorice and a touch of graphite. It continues to remind me of a hypothetical blend of a second or third-growth Bordeaux Pauillac with a Napa Valley Cabernet. (RP)" ...

96 points James Suckling: "This is superb wine with dark chocolate, berry and spice. Extremely perfumed. Full body, super silky tannins. Great finish. This is so delicious. Ripe yet fresh. Tannins are polished and elegant. 80% cabernet sauvignon, 8% merlot, 8% cabernet franc and 4% petit verdot." (07/2015) 96 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The seductive 2012 Proprietary Red Bettina offers up a more Margaux-like femininity compared to the overwhelming power and richness of the Bryant Family Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon. This wine is a blend sourc...

98 points James Suckling: "This is a superb merlot with black olive, blueberry, iodine, and oyster shell. Full body, tight tannins. Chocolate, walnut, and bramble berry. Superb finish. A beauty. Try now but give it four to five years of bottle age. Decant before serving now." (05/2016) 98 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 100% Merlot cuvée, the 2012 Roberta’s Reserve State Lane Vineyard is, once again, flirting with perfection. 99 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2012 Proprietary Red EE is composed of 65% Cabernet Sauvignon and 35% Cabernet Franc from two vineyard sources in Oakville, the Tench and Tin Box. This virtually perfect wine exhibits an opaque purple color along with notes of incense, camphor, blueberry and blackberry liqueur, licorice, barbecue smoke and spring flowers. Full-bodied with silky tannin and a finish that lasts nearly 60 seconds, there are 400 cases of this gorgeous 2012. (RP)" (10/2014) 95 points Wine Spectator: "Amazingly rich and soulful, w...

A great location in the heart of Napa Valley gives the Greer Vineyard a host of top-flight neighbors: Rubicon, Scarecrow, and Phelps, to name just a few. But this small family winery doesn't rely solely upon their location, having enlisted well-regarded winemaker Aaron Pott (formerly of Quintessa) to craft the wine. Aaron has done his job so well that Greer has become a hard wine to purchase, selling out their small-production every vintage soon after release via their mailing list.

92-94 points Vinous: "Bright, medium ruby-red. Brooding aromas of cassis, black cherry, minerals, smoke and licorice are lifted by a violet topnote. Densely packed, ripe and seamless, with lovely depth and complexity to its claret-like flavors of currant, minerals and tobacco leaf. Really spreads out to saturate the palate on the long back end, which features building tannins and persistent sweetness of fruit. This very harmonious wine promises to be fat and rich for Viader's flagship blend. (ST)" (05/2014) 93 points James Suckling: "A juicy and rich w...

91-94 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Bright medium red-ruby. Lovely floral lift to the aromas of raspberry and minerals. Tight and serious in the mouth, showing moderate density but terrific definition to its red fruit flavors complicated by a suggestion of incense. Turned plumper with aeration but this is still not a particularly opulent style. Ripely tannic and very long on the aftertaste. Winemaker Andy Erickson notes that this vintage is much more typical of its site than the 2011. (ST)" (05/2014) 93 points Robert Parker's Wine...

97 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "From a vineyard located in Oakville, off the Silverado Trail, sandwiched between two high-rent addresses, Screaming Eagle and Rudd Estate, the 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon Harbison Vineyard is composed of 95% Cabernet Sauvignon and the rest other Bordeaux varietals. Copious notes of blackberries, blueberries, white chocolate, espresso, truffles and lead pencil shavings emerge from this full-bodied 2012. Along with the huge body, it offers an exuberant, expressive mouthfeel, loads of glycerin and sweet tannin. This kil...

2012 Larkmead "Solari" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Back In Stock!
99 points Jeb Dunnuck: "The 2012 Solari is a stunning wine based on 100% Cabernet Sauvignon that spent 20 months in 70% new French oak. As with most 2012s, it’s drinking brilliantly today and sports a youthful ruby/purple hue as well as a monster bouquet of crème de cassis, graphite, dried earth, licorice, and Asian spices. It’s rich and powerful, with plenty of underlying structure, yet it stays weightless as well as seamless on the palate, with flawless balance. This is a brilliant, heavenly Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon that will continue showing wel...

100 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Another perfect wine is Bevan’s equal part blend of Merlot and Cabernet Franc, the 2012 Proprietary Red Sugarloaf Mountain. Notes of unsmoked cigar tobacco, forest floor, pen ink mulberries, blackberries and spring flowers soar from this inky/purple-colored 2012. The wine possesses great intensity, remarkable unctuosity and thickness, and perfect integration of acidity, alcohol, tannin and wood. Aged in equal parts new Gamba and Darnajou barrels, there are 225 cases of this fabulous wine. Drink now-2032. (RP)" (...

2012 Viader "Estate - Black Label" Howell Mountain Red Blend
New!
90 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "(60% cabernet sauvignon, 27% syrah, 8% malbec and 5% petite sirah): Bright ruby-red. Dark aromas of blackberry, black cherry and licorice are complicated by a whiff of gamey syrah and an emerging violet element. Densely packed, pliant and chewy, with a mouthfilling texture to its flavors of red berries, spices, tobacco leaf, pepper and dried flowers. This very supple blend finishes with sweet dusty tannins and very good length. Should offer early appeal, but give it a good aeration if you plan to dri...

Bid on this bottle of 2012 Screaming Eagle "Second Flight" Oakville Bordeaux Blend (97JS, 96RP, 95JD, 94VN). James Suckling: "This is very structured with ripe and silky tannins that shows a dense and compacted fruit character. It's full and racy. Impressive tone and form. A blend of 43% Merlot, 48% Cabernet Sauvignon and 9% Cabernet Franc. " (07/2015)

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2012 Hall Howell Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon (98RP, (93-95VN), 94WE, 94WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Part of what Kathryn Hall calls her Artisan Collection, the 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon Howell Mountain has a dense ruby/purple color and a glorious nose of boysenberry, mulberry and blueberry that soars from the glass and saturates the olfactory senses. This is one of the greatest Howell Mountain Cabernet Sauvignons I have ever had the pleasure of tasting, and I’ve had many a top one. With just a hint of graphite and beautiful well-integrated acidity, the new oak, which I’m sure is substantial – pushed way to the background because of the extravagant fruit and an unctuous texture – make for a near-perfect wine to drink over the next two decades. This is stunning, even profound, wine. Kudos. (RP) 98+" (10/2014)
Starting Bid: $310.00

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2012 Quintessa Rutherford Bordeaux Blend (96JS, 94RP, (91-94ST), 92WS). James Suckling: "Fabulous aromas of blackberry, tile and clay. Porcini undertones. Starting Bid: $200.00

Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 2012 Araujo "Eisele Vineyard" Napa Valley Syrah (93WS). Wine Spectator: "Powerfully built, with a brooding personality lingering under the structure of tannins. Aromas of currant and river rock combine with complex, dense flavors of blackberry, licorice and espresso. Hands off for now. (TF)" (12/2015)
Starting Bid: $280.00

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2012 Stag's Leap Wine Cellars "Cask 23" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (96RP, 95DC, 93WE, 93WS, 91VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon Cask 23 reveals more oak on the nose, but is a much deeper, richer, fuller wine than the S.L.V. Dense ruby/purple to the rim, beautiful blackberry and cassis fruit, cedar wood, toast and earth jump from the glass. Full-bodied and layered, but with nothing out of balance, this is probably the strongest Cask 23 since the glory years of the mid-80s. Look for this wine to drink well young, yet age effortlessly for 25 years. (RP)" (12/2015)
Starting Bid: $480.00

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2012 Rudd "Oakville Estate" Oakville Bordeaux Blend ((94-96RP), 94VN, 92WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2012 Oakville Estate reveals lovely notes of crème de cassis, spring flowers, forest floor, dusty, loamy soil undertones, and a touch of licorice, medium to full body, moderate tannins and beautiful concentration. This should turn out to be a brilliant effort from Leslie Rudd, but it requires 4-5 years of cellaring. It should keep for 20-25 years. Drink through 2039. (RP)" (10/2014)

Bid on this bottle of 2012 Kongsgaard "The Judge" Napa Valley Chardonnay (98RP, 96VN, 95WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Also amazing, the 2012 Chardonnay The Judge offers impressive aromas of tangerines, orange marmalade, wet rocks, quince, spring flowers and honeysuckle. Impressively full-bodied and majestic with terrific acidity, it is a tour de force in Chardonnay. Furthermore, it is about as 'natural' as possible. Thankfully, Kongsgaard is not one to deal in the quintessential B.S. that now seems so prevalent. (RP)" (10/2014)

Bid on this bottle of 2012 Dana Estates "Lotus Vineyard" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (97RP, (94-97ST), 96VN, 95WS, 94JS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Deep garnet colored, the 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon Lotus Vineyard (containing 7% Petit Verdot) offers up a gorgeous nose of fruitcake, potpourri and dried herbs over a core of crème de cassis, blueberry compote and raspberry tart. Medium to full-bodied, finely structured and with great freshness and approachability, it gives a wonderful core of muscular fruit and a long, mineral-laced finish. (LPB)" (12/2017)

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2012 Hall Stags Leap District Cabernet Sauvignon ((94-98RP), (93-95VN), 93WE, 92WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon Stags Leap shows the breadth of richness, sweetness and opulence this vintage possesses. It is a head-turning, hedonistic, thrill-a-second wine. (RP)" (10/2013)
Starting Bid: $255.00

Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 2012 Caymus "40th Anniversary" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (96RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "They appear to be immune to some of winedom’s less than intelligent trends and fads that we see from time to time, and the result is a spectacular 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon 40th Anniversary offering. Its dense purple/black color is followed by copious quantities of crème de cassis and blackberry fruit, silky tannins, a voluptuous texture and stunning purity as well as length. This full-bodied effort is a fabulous example of Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon as well as a tribute to this amazing family. It is so good now, why wait? However, I’m sure that like most vintages of Caymus, it will last for 20-25 years. Amazing! (RP)" (10/2014)
Starting Bid: $600.00

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2012 Hall "Kathryn Hall" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (97RP, 95WE, (91-93VN), 92WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon Kathryn Hall is largely sourced from their Sacrashe Vineyard. The color is dense ruby/purple. The wine is very young, and less evolved than many of its peers, but bursting with potential. Lots of blueberry and black raspberry fruit with a hint of mocha and background oak are all present in this full-bodied, opulent, absolutely spectacular Cabernet Sauvignon. This is a long-distance runner, although not so much because of the tannic structure, because the fruit seems younger and more primary than some of its siblings. Nevertheless, it is loaded with potential promise, and as Kathryn Hall says so frequently, 'Magic.' This full-bodied, classic Cabernet Sauvignon from Napa should hit its prime in 4-5 years and last at least two decades or more. (RP) 97+" (10/2014)
Starting Bid: $303.00

Starting Bid: $100.00

Bid on this bottle of 2012 Harlan Estate Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (OWC - 99RP, 98JS, (95-97ST), 97VN) in original wood. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: " The 2012 Harlan Estate is reminiscent of their 2002. Probably a candidate for perfection with another 4-5 years of bottle age, the wine is inky plum/purple to the rim and offers a gorgeous nose of scorched earth, blackberry and cassis, forest floor, and a floral, lavender-like component followed by deep, opulent, majestic flavors that caress the palate with high but sweet tannin. This is relatively evolved, and supple and voluptuous for a young Harlan estate -- hence the comparison with their compelling 2002. This wine can be drunk in several years and is likely another candidate for 30-50 years of cellaring. (RP) 99+ " (10/2015)
Starting Bid: $630.00

Bid on this bottle of 2012 Opus One Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (97DC, 97JS, 96RP, 95VN, 93WS). James Suckling: "Glorious purity of fruit here with blackcurrants, blueberries, dark chocolate, fresh herbs and forest floor. Hints of mint. Full body, seamless tannins and wonderful balance. Tight and compacted tannins with beautiful fruit and great length. Hazelnut and chocolate. Goes on for minutes. One of the best Opus in years. Compacted and beautiful." (04/2015)
Starting Bid: $310.00

Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 2012 Hall "Eighteen Seventy-Three" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (95RP, 93WE). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The last 2012 I tasted was the 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon ‘1873', which is part of their Artisan Collection and named after Captain William Peterson, who established a pioneering winery on their St. Helena property in 1873. This is another beauty from Hall. Dense ruby/purple with layered blackcurrant fruit mixed with licorice, incense and forest floor, this deep, full-bodied, opulent wine has gorgeous purity and harmony among its component parts. Like so many of these wines, it has symmetry and density that are world-class. Drink over the next 20 years. Kathryn Hall’s winery is certainly one of the more dramatic as well as up-and-coming superstars of Napa Valley. It seems every effort is made to propel these wines into the very top echelon of quality. There is not a lot to criticize with the multitude of bottlings, all of which offer considerable char
Starting Bid: $399.00

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2012 Joseph Phelps "Larry Hyde & Sons Vineyard" Napa Valley Syrah (92RP, 91VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Joseph Phelps was one of the first so-called Rhône Rangers to exploit grapes associated with France’s Rhône Valley. His top-flight 2012 Syrah Larry Hyde & Sons Vineyard includes 5-6% Viognier. Aged in a combination of new and neutral French oak, it exhibits copious notes of lard, bacon, meat, blackberries and black raspberries. Pure, rich, full-bodied, lush and exotic, it should provide plenty of pleasure over the next 6-7 years. (RP)" (10/2014)
Starting Bid: $125.00

Bid on this bottle of 2012 Dana Estates "Helms Vineyard" Rutherford Cabernet Sauvignon (99JS, 96RP, 96VN, (92-95ST), 94WS). James Suckling: "Extraordinary aromas of metal shavings, black currants and hazelnuts. Turns to roses and violets. Full-bodied, yet subtle and refined with a polished piercing tannin backbone. This makes you want to drink it. Sexy and elegant. A triumph. Try in 2019 but hard not to drink now. " (11/2015)
