2019 Domaine du Bagnol Cassis Rosé
Back In Stock!
This rosé comes from a handful of parcels that total seven hectares of vineyards planted in clay and limestone soils, on a gentle north-northwest-facing slope. Grenache-dominated, with smaller percentages of Mourvèdre and Cinsault. Like the Cassis Blanc, the wine is taut, fresh and slightly saline. The winery makes only a small quantity of this, making this extremely hard to find, but its deliciousness makes it highly sought after. Get yours before it's gone.

92 points Wine Enthusiast: "Originating from a certified-organic estate, this blends 55% Grenache, 17% Counoise, 14% Syrah, 7% Mourvèdre and 7% Petite Sirah. Candied cherry, peach and herb accent a light, dry and fresh core of brightness that finishes in a twist of jalapeño. (VB)" (06/2020) K&L Notes: Winemaker's Notes: "A labor of love, our dry Provençal-style Rosé melds five Rhône varieties to create one singular sensation that is refreshingly crisp and always hard to resist. As is our custom, the fruit was handpicked at varying times depending on ea...

A fun and funky blend of Grolleau, Gamay and Pinot Noir.
Price: $13.99

This is no cheap rosé, it's true. But consider, for a minute, that this is no simple quaffer of a pink wine. It hails from Palette, one of the smallest appellations in all of France. It is, in a sense, a sort of Provencal monopole, since Château Palette owns nearly all the acreage in this tiny 23-hectare zone. Their vines are old, too. In some cases, more than 100 years old. The red grapes are the usual suspects for this part of France: Grenache, Mourvèdre, and Syrah with small amounts of Cinsault, Carignane, and other local varieties. But at Simone, the...

Winemaker's Notes: "This year I decided to seek out a dedicated vineyard to make the best possible Rosé. I was able to source this Carignan from a head-trained block planted in the 1950’s on the banks of the Mokelumne River in Lodi. The vineyard is owned and farmed by the 4th generation of the Manassero family. Old-school as they come, Leonard Manassero grew up farming the vineyard with his father and grandfather and his son is there to help him today. In Spain, Carignan is known as Cariñena or Mazuelo - to growers like the Manasseros in Lodi - as Kerrig...

Château Musar is Lebanon's most famous producer. The winery does not make rosé every vintage, because the winemaker (the late Serge Hochar) sought very specific characteristics from the grapes he uses to create a fine, delicate and elegant rosé. The 2016 is composed of the indigenous Lebanese grapes Obaideh (55-65%) and Merwah (30-40%), thought to be ancestors of Chardonnay and Semillon, and a small amout of Cinsault.
