Bid on this 1-half-bottle lot of 1988 von Hövel Oberemmeler Hütte Riesling Eiswein Mosel (375ml). The von Hövel estate is located in Konzer Tälchen (“little valley” of Konz), a side valley of the Saar river. Operations take place in a manor house that was completed in the 12th century, where it initially served as an abbey retreat for the famous wine monastery of St. Maximin in Trier. Decanter rates the 1988 vintage as an overall 4/5, but a superb year for Eiswein.
Starting Bid: $75.00

Bid on this 3-bottle tasting lot; including 2-bottles of 2005 Joh. Jos. Prüm Graacher Himmelreich Riesling Auslese Mosel (95VN, 95WS, 94JG, (93-94RP), 94WE) and 1-bottle of 2006 Joh. Jos. Prüm Graacher Himmelreich Riesling Auslese Mosel (95WS, 94W&S, (92-93RP), 92ST, 92WE). Of the 2005 Joh. Jos. Prüm Graacher Himmelreich Riesling Auslese Mosel, Vinous writes: "Pale golden yellow. Restrained aromas of yellow plum, quince jelly and acacia honey, with a hint of spicy botrytis. Pure, rich and complex on the palate, with subtle nut oil and brown spice notes giving a lightness to the creamy custard flavor. The lift and delicacy persist on the bright, stylish, succulent and very long finish. (JP)" (01/2007)

Bid on this 2-bottle tasting lot; including 1-bottle of 2003 Schlossgut Diel Dorsheimer Goldloch Riesling Auslese Nahe (92WS, 90RP) and 1-bottle of 2004 Schlossgut Diel Dorsheimer Pittermännchen Riesling Spätlese Nahe (91ST, 91WS). Of the 2003 Schlossgut Diel Dorsheimer Goldloch Riesling Auslese Nahe, Wine Spectator writes: "A lithe, open-knit version, with orange, vanilla and floral notes mingling with a bright, light-bodied frame. Very enticing, with a deceptive concentration, it lingers nicely on the finish too. (BS)" (03/2005)
Starting Bid: $80.00

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2004 Dönnhoff Schlossböckelheimer Felsenberg Riesling Spätlese Nahe (93JG, 92RP). John Gilman: "The 2004 Felsenberg Spätlese is really singing out of the blocks, as the wine offers up a superb bouquet of white cherries, Granny Smith apples, white grapes, striking minerality, a touch of petrol and a topnote of iris blossoms. On the palate the wine is medium-full, deep and complex, with both more minerality and more depth of fruit than the Kirschheck served before it. The finish is long, tensile and very minerally, with great structural integrity, and superb length and grip on the brisk finish. Beautiful juice in the making. " (08/2006)
Starting Bid: $150.00

Starting Bid: $275.00

Bid on this 4-bottle tasting lot; including 1-bottle of 2004 Dönnhoff Oberhäuser Brücke Riesling Spätlese Nahe (94RP, 93JG) and 3-bottles of 2007 Dönnhoff Oberhäuser Brücke Riesling Spätlese (96JG, 94RP, 93VN, 92WS). Of the 2007 Dönnhoff Oberhäuser Brücke Riesling Spätlese, John Gilman writes: "At this point in the tour de force of Spätlesen in the Dönnhoff cellars this year, I was beginning to run out of superlatives, but the 2007 Brücke Spätlese managed to take everything up another notch in quality. The bouquet today is a tad less flamboyant than the last couple of wines, as it offers up a very precise and coolly reserved nose of grapefruit, apple, slate, petrol, bee pollen, wild yeasts and lemon zest. " (03/2008)
