The history of the Barons Langwerth von Simmern at the Rheingau dates back to the year 1464, when Johann Langwerth von Simmern received 32 2/3 Morgen (approx. 25 acres) of "Hattenheimer Mannberg" as for his services as chancellor to Duke Ludwig von Pfalz-Zweibrücken. In 1472, after the acquisiton of Castle Hattenheim, the family finally made the Rheingau their home. And they've been producing world class wine every since.

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 1985 Dr. F. Weins-Prüm Erben Graacher Domprobst Riesling #11 Spätlese Goldkapsel Mosel. According to importer Rudi Weist: "After World War II, daughter Marianne Weins married Mr. Selbach who came from an Ürzig wine growing family with a wine making tradition dating back to 1664. In the marriage the Selbach holdings in Ürzig were transferred to the Dr. F. Weins-Prüm estate. They complemented the already existing holding in the :Wehlener Sonnenuhr, Wehlener Klosterberg, Graacher Himmelreich, Graacher Domprobst, Waldracher Sonnenberg. The above original holding of the Dr. F. Weins-Prüm estate are primarily through inheritance from the original Prüm estate." Dompost is in the Graach in the heart of the Mittel Mosel.
