Bid on this magnum of 2003 Moraga "Bel Air" Los Angeles County Cabernet Sauvignon-Merlot (1.5L) in original wood. Ruth and Tom Jones founded Moraga in 1978, with their first commercial vintage in 1989. The blend includes a small amount of Merlot, and is aged in 100% new French oak.
Starting Bid: $75.00

Bid on this 5-bottle lot of 2003 Vitanza Brunello di Montalcino (92WS). Wine Spectator: "Aromas of black fruit and oak, with a hint of fresh mushroom, follow through to a firm, full-bodied palate, picking up a clean vanilla note on the finish. Needs time to broaden out. (JS)" (05/2008)
Starting Bid: $125.00

Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2003 Jean-Michel Gerin "Champin le Seigneur" Côte-Rôtie (92WS, 91RP). Wine Spectator: "Quite juicy, with lots of briar, red currant and black cherry flavors running along tangy acidity. Shows more terroir-driven mineral and sanguine notes than most of its peers, with red fruit, pepper and tobacco on the finish. (JM)" (05/2006)
Starting Bid: $200.00

Bid on this bottle of 2003 Bond "St. Eden" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (96WE, 94RP, 94VN). Wine Enthusiast: "Tasted alongside the Melbury, St. Eden is richer, more layered and complex. The jammy cherry and chocolate flavors here possess deeper notes of blue and purple fruits, with a brooding, mulchy depth that grounds the wine. The texture is gorgeous, with perfectly ripe, sweet tannins. Despite the wine's power, it has an airy, cloud-like quality, surely the mark of a great wine." (02/2007)
Starting Bid: $250.00

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2003 Le Vieux Donjon Châteauneuf-du-Pape (94RP, 93JD, 93ST, 93WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The powerful 2003 Chateauneuf du Pape comes closest in character to the 1990 (which is still drinking beautifully). Its dark ruby/plum/purple color is followed by sweet aromas of resiny pine forest interwoven with creme de cassis, black cherries, melted licorice, and smoky herbs. In the mouth, gamy, meaty flavors emerge along with black currants, cherries, and a hint of the sushi wrapper called nori. (RP)" (02/2006)
Starting Bid: $120.00

Bid on this bottle of 2003 M. Chapoutier "Le Pavillon" Ermitage (100RP, 95VN, 95WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Even better, and topping out on my scale, the 2003 Ermitage le Pavillon comes all from the granite soils of the Les Bessards lieu-dit and was aged 100% in new barrels. Its inky ruby/black color is followed by off the hook aromas and flavors of plum, creme de cassis, licorice, crushed rocks and violet/incense-like qualities. This gives way to a full-bodied, dense, seamless and textured 2003 that has building tannin, awesome concentration and a blockbuster finish. Drink it anytime over the coming two decades, although, as with the Le Meal, it’s gorgeous now. (JD)" (04/2014)
Starting Bid: $215.00

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2003 Willi Schaefer Graacher Domprobst Riesling Spätlese Auction #19 Mosel (91JG). John Gilman: "I do not know how this has happened, but the Spätlese AP #19 from the Schaefers that was sold at the auction in Trier is the first example of the 2003 vintage that I have tasted from their estate. It is a very lovely wine in the riper, exotic style of this vintage, as it delivers a classy nose of yellow plum, peach, a touch of fresh fig, candied violets, slate, honeycomb and a very gentle hint of orange blossom up high. On the palate the wine is full-bodied, pure, fresh and quite light on its feet for the vintage, with sound framing acids, lovely complexity and good length and grip on the finish. The wine is fairly broad-shouldered for a Schaefer Spätlese, but it retains the signature elegance of this fine estate. " (07/2010)
Starting Bid: $195.00

Bid on this magnum of 2003 Pontet-Canet, Pauillac (1.5L) (95RP, 93JS, 93ST, 93WS, 91WE). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The spectacular 2003 Pontet Canet is still incredibly young and vigorous. This full-bodied classic boasts a dense purple color as well as a superb nose of graphite, creme de cassis, forest floor, licorice and a hint of truffles, low acidity, and extravagant richness. Most of the tannins have been resolved in this superstar of the vintage. (RP) 95+" (08/2014)
Starting Bid: $180.00

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2003 Jones Family Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (90RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The saturated dark plum/ruby/purple-tinged 2003 Cabernet Sauvignon offers hints of garrigue, licorice, smoke, plums, blueberries, and black currants in its medium-bodied personality. More austere than the 2002, but nicely structured, rich, and impressively pure with moderately high, but sweet tannin, it will benefit from 1-3 years of bottle age. Consume it over the following 8-10 years." (12/2005)
Starting Bid: $150.00

Bid on this bottle of 2003 Léoville-Barton, St-Julien (98WS, 96JD, 96RP). Wine Spectator: "Intense blackberry and cherry, with hints of currant. Toasted oak and sweet tobacco too. Roses and other flowers, such as lilacs. Full-bodied, with masses of tannins yet incredibly long and seductive. *Ranked #3 in Wine Spectator Top 100 of 2006, Collectibles* (JS)" (03/2006)
Starting Bid: $140.00

Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 2003 Lascombes, Margaux (94RP, 91ST, 91WS, 90JS, 90WE). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "This sumptuous, rich, complex Margaux reveals a fragrant nose of cedarwood, spring flowers, spice box, black currants and earth. Medium to full-bodied with silky tannins and a dense, plum/ruby/purple color. (RP)" (08/2014)
Starting Bid: $300.00

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2003 Saint Cosme Châteauneuf-du-Pape (91RP, 91ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The negociant reds include the serious 2003 Chateauneuf du Pape (60% Grenache and 40% Mourvedre). Aromas of soy, blueberries, blackberries, creosote, tar, licorice, herbes de Provence, and meat emerge from this full-bodied, dense, moderately tannic red. (RP)" (02/2006)
Starting Bid: $75.00

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2003 Tardieu-Laurent "Cuvée Speciale" Châteauneuf-du-Pape (92RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2003 Chateauneuf du Pape Cuvee Speciale boasts a dark ruby/plum color and a big, sweet nose of garrigue, new oak, blackberries, and sweet cherries. The wine is full-bodied, ripe, moderately tannic as well as powerful, and rich. It is another wine that will benefit from 2-3 years of cellaring, and last for 15 or more years. (RP)" (02/2006)
Starting Bid: $50.00
