Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2004 Glaetzer "Godolphin" Shiraz-Cabernet Sauvignon Barossa Valley South Australia ((96-98RP), 97JD, 95JH). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "This nearly perfect wine, made from 70% Shiraz (105- to 115-year-old vines) and 30% Cabernet Sauvignon (60- to 90-year-old vines), was cropped at a minuscule .5 to 1 ton of fruit per acre, and spent 15 months in French oak prior to bottling. Its gorgeously sweet, pure nose of crushed rocks, blueberries, cassis, and minerals soars from the glass. Floral-like black and blue fruits, an inky/purple color, and nearly endless depth and persistence on the palate are the stuff of legends. With extraordinary equilibrium, precision, and purity, it represents the apogee of Ben Glaetzer’s winemaking talents. (RP)" (10/2005)
Starting Bid: $210.00

Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 2005 Greenock Creek "Creek Block" Shiraz Barossa Valley South Australia (97RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2005 Creek Block Shiraz was sourced from a 67-year-old estate vineyard and received the same barrel regimen as its colleagues. An exceptional nose of smoked meat, bacon, tar, violets, truffle, and blueberry muffin gives way to a full-bodied, voluptuous, Shiraz with layers of blue and black fruit flavors, spice box, and milk chocolate. Although it can be enjoyed now, it promises to evolve for 8-10 years and provide prime drinking through 2035. (JM)" (02/2009)
Starting Bid: $260.00

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2006 Kalleske "Johann Georg" Shiraz Barossa Valley South Australia (97RP, 94WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The flagship 2006 Johann Georg Shiraz comes from a 131-year-old vineyard and spent two years in French and American oak hogsheads, two-thirds new. Purple/black in color with legs that slowly ooze down the glass, it reveals an expansive perfume of wood smoke, lavender, mineral, blueberry, and blackberry liqueur. Opulent on the palate, this velvety-textured, rich Shiraz has that extra dimension of complexity that only old vines can deliver. (JM)" (02/2009)
Starting Bid: $300.00
