Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2012 Gargiulo "575 OVX" Oakville Cabernet Sauvignon. Jeff and Valerie Gargiulo purchased their first Oakville property in Napa Valley in 1992 and bought the 575 OVX vineyard seven years later. The wine produced from 575 OVX is the winery's most limited release and typically less than 300 cases are produced per year. Winery tasting notes: "The nose reveals delicate aromas of rose petal and red berries, which on the palate become lush fruit flavors complemented by a unique exotic minerality. The last sip in your glass is the most treasured as it has only just begun to tell its story. The aging potential is 25 plus years."
Starting Bid: $240.00

Bid on this bottle of 2012 Schrader "Beckstoffer Las Piedras - LPV" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (98JS, 95WS, 94RP). James Suckling: "A very rich and dense red with blueberry and chocolate character. Full-bodied, very silky and refined. Wonderful depth and length. Held back and pretty. Elegance and beauty for a Schrader. " (07/2015)
Starting Bid: $206.00

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2018 Cayuse "The Widowmaker" Walla Walla Valley Cabernet Sauvignon. Christophe Baron's Cayuse wines continue to be among the most sought-after and hard-to-find wines from Washington state. Year in and year out, this visionary winemaker stuns critics and collectors alike with his inimitable skill. While virtually all of the wines are allocated to the mailing list, we at K&L occasionally take possession of a few precious bottles. The Widowmaker Cabernet Sauvignon from the En Chamberlin vineyard is remarkably approachable in youth, albeit still very primary in character. Nonetheless, the wine has plenty of texture and fortitude to reward two decades or more in the cellar. The sparse, stony soils of this site are ideal for producing structured, intense wines.
Starting Bid: $250.00

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2012 Ridge Vineyards "Monte Bello" Santa Cruz Mountains Cabernet Sauvignon (98VN, 96JS, 96RP, 94DC, 94WS, 93W&S). Vinous: "The 2012 Monte Bello is one of the most harmonious young Monte Bellos I can remember tasting. Seamless and voluptuous through to the finish, the 2012 is showing beautifully today. Raspberry jam, pomegranate, white flowers, mint and spices are some of the many notes that flesh out in the glass. A wine with a distinctly red-hued profile, silky tannins, no hard edges and exceptional overall balance, the 2012 Monte Bello is simply magnificent. The 2012 is racy but also impeccably balanced throughout, with shades of the 2001 that come through from time to time. I won't be surprised if the 2013 and 2014 both eventually surpass it, but there is no denying that the 2012 is simply stunning today. This is one of the best showings yet for the 2012. (AG)" (07/2015)

Bid on this bottle of 2015 Scarecrow Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (99RP, 98JD, 98VN, 96WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Produced from 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, the 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon leaps from the glass with gorgeous floral notes of red roses and lilacs over a core of black and red cherries, crushed black currants and baking spices plus hints of iron ore and dusty earth. The voluptuous, rounded, soft and sexy fruit slinks across the palate with incredible seamlessness and expression. Make no mistake, it is full-bodied and decadently powerful, but with a myriad of aromatic nuances, finishing long, layered and boldly perfumed. (LPB)" (10/2017)
Starting Bid: $460.00

Bid on this bottle of 2017 Harvey & Harriet (My Favorite Neighbor) Paso Robles Red Blend (95JD, 94RP, 93VN). Jeb Dunnuck: "It offers a richer, powerful style as well as Napa Cabernet-like notes of black and blue fruits, scorched earth, crushed rocks, and violets. Rich, full-bodied, beautifully concentrated, and voluptuous on the palate, it's more approachable than the flagship Cabernet Sauvignon, but I wouldn't bet against it aging just as long." (10/2019)
Starting Bid: $35.00

Bid on this bottle of 2014 Penultimate (Promontory) Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (96VN). Vinous: "The 2014 Penultimate is a wine of magnificent finesse and nuance, the same qualities that make Promontory so special in this vintage. There is a feeling of translucence that runs through the 2014 that is so compelling. Dried herbs, mint, leather, smoke, tobacco and wild dark cherry are some of the many notes that flesh out with time in the glass. I especially admire the wine’s tension, vibrancy and phenomenal finish. The 2014 is so impressive upon opening, but then shuts down quickly in the glass. A few more years in bottle will help soften the noble mountain tannins. (AG)" (09/2020)
Starting Bid: $245.00

Bid on this bottle of 1966 Latour, Pauillac (96JG, 96RP, 95VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 1966 Latour remains an exemplar of the vintage, certainly one of the best, if not the best Left Bank wine of the vintage. Here, served blind, its quality was a beacon, quintessentially Pauillac with that trademark graphite seam through the intense black fruit, cold stone and a touch of tobacco. It remains undimmed by its age (though this was served from a magnum of impeccable provenance). The palate is medium-bodied and that graphite theme continues unabated, flanked by beautiful, precise and pure vestiges of black fruit. 'Pure class' are the final two words of my tasting note and at 50 years old, they sum up this immensely impressive Château Latour. Tasted September 2016. (NM)" (10/2016)
Starting Bid: $461.66

Bid on this bottle of 1996 Pontet-Canet, Pauillac (93VN, 91WS). Vinous: "One or two people had suggested that this might be past its best; after all, it predates the innovations and application of biodynamics overseen by Alfred Tesseron by several years. On the contrary, it has aged beautifully. Cedar, scorched earth and mint blossomed on a nose that is firmly into its secondary phase, yet laden with more fruit than expected considering both its age and the austere style of Left Bank 1996s. The palate might be nearing the end of its drinking plateau, so don’t hold back if you own a few bottles. But I admired its balance and density, its structure and classicism, and the typical Pauillac traits of cedar and a touch of mint toward the finish. I savored it down to the last drop. (NM)" (09/2020)
Starting Bid: $89.00

Bid on this bottle of 2013 Schrader "Beckstoffer Las Piedras - LPV" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (97JS, 94RP, 94WS). James Suckling: "Amazing aromas of hot stone, iodine, black currants and blackberries. Full body, super polished tannins that highlight the dark fruits, plus white pepper, salt and fruit character. Precise and focused." (05/2016)
Starting Bid: $195.00

Bid on this 5-bottle lot of 2007 Château Montelena "Estate" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (95RP, 95VN, 92JS, 92WE). Vinous: "Bright ruby-red. Slightly jammy aromas of blackberry, cassis and cherry complemented by spice and cedar nuances. Wonderfully sweet and mouthfilling but not a bit weighty, with its dark berry, spice and tobacco flavors firmed by medicinal menthol and mint notes. This suave, fine-grained beauty can be enjoyed now owing to its superb balance but it also has the penetration and cut to go on for another 20 years. Winemaker Matt Crafton describes 2007 as 'a Goldilocks vintage,' with long, slow ripening, no weather extremes and full flavor development. Finishes very long, with wonderfully suave tannins and no shortage of structure. (ST)" (05/2019)
Starting Bid: $450.00

Bid on this bottle of 1978 Ridge Vineyards "Monte Bello" Santa Cruz Mountains Cabernet Sauvignon (98RP, 95JG, 93VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The wine offers up a rich and kaleidoscopically complex bouquet of black truffles, dark chocolate, black currants, pencil shavings and Egyptian musk. On the palate, it's full-bodied, layered and complete, with ripe, melting tannins, an ample core of fruit and a long, tangy finish. It gets better and better with air. The 1978 is a touch more savory and a little less lavishly textural than the 1974, but the two are very close in ultimate quality. Connoisseurs will be interested to learn that a portion of the 1978 was rebottled due to an incomplete malolactic fermentation: antique olive bottles indicate the rebottled 1978, whereas the original bottles are in Champagne green. This tasting note refers to a pristine example of the former, but the original bottling is reputed to be even better today. (WK)" (05/2018)
Starting Bid: $532.59

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2015 Promontory Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (OWC - 99JS, 98JD, 98RP, 98VN) in original wood. James Suckling: "Insane aromas of lavender, blackberries, wet earth and ripe yet fresh fruit. Full body with very deep fruit, pine needles and hints of chocolate and cedar. Very long and wonderfully polished. This has wonderful depth and focus." (02/2019)
Starting Bid: $1,800.00

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2011 Myriad "Beckstoffer Dr. Crane Vineyard" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (93VN). Vinous: "The 2011 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer Dr. Crane Vineyard is super-impressive. Pliant and generous on the palate, the 2011 offers notable depth, no hard edges and fabulous purity of fruit, all extremely rare at this level in 2011, a cold, late-ripening vintage. Then again, Dr. Crane, a valley site in St. Helena, is one of Napa Valley's top vineyards. Sweet red plum, rose petal, spice and mint wrap around the open-knit finish. (AG)" (08/2015)
Starting Bid: $255.00

Bid on this 5-bottle lot of 2000 Reignac, Bordeaux Supérieur (92RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "An amazing accomplishment for a Bordeaux Superieur, Reignac's 2000, a blend of 70% Merlot and 30% Cabernet Sauvignon, cropped at 25 hectoliters per hectare and aged 100% on its lees in new oak, exhibits an opaque ruby/purple color, an impressively complex nose of black currants intermixed with graphite, vanilla, and cedar. The wine is medium to full-bodied, dense, rich, and the qualitative equivalent of a top classified growth from the Medoc. Another 2000 that has to be tasted to be believed, it should drink well for 8-10 years, possibly longer. A revelation! (RP)" (04/2003)
Starting Bid: $125.00

Bid on this 6 liter 1-bottle lot of 1997 Louis Martini "Monte Rosso" Sonoma Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (6L) (OWC - 95RP) in original wood. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "With 14.5% natural alcohol, this dense ruby/purple-colored blockbuster boasts rich creme de cassis and dusty, loamy soil notes intermixed with cedar, tobacco leaf and forest floor. This full-bodied, opulent, sexy 1997 is still very youthful with two decades of life ahead of it. Anticipated Maturity: now-2030+. 95+ (RP)" (08/2012)
Starting Bid: $325.00

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2017 Joseph Phelps "Insignia" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (97WE, 96DC, 96JD, 96JS, 96RP, 94W&S, 94WS). Wine Enthusiast: "This estate-grown blend combines 94% Cabernet Sauvignon, 4% Malbec and 2% Cabernet Franc, allowing the main variety to speak loudest. Gorgeously perfumed, it unfurls wave after wave of cassis, dusty rock and cocoa powder - seasonings that boost secondary characteristics of black and red currant and cherry. With structure and complexity to spare, it should do well over time; enjoy best from 2027-2032. *CellarSelection* (VB)" (11/2020)

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2017 My Favorite Neighbor (Booker) Paso Robles Cabernet Sauvignon (96JD, 95VN, 94RP). Jeb Dunnuck: "The 2017 My Favorite Neighbor is also terrific and I suspect would cost 2-3 times its going rate if it was from Napa Valley. It's also the more elegant, perfumed, red-fruited release compared to the darker fruited Harvey and Harriet release. Classy notes of black raspberries, spice box, white flowers, lead pencil shavings, and tobacco leaf all emerge from the glass of this medium to full-bodied red, which offers a seamless texture, fine tannins, and a great finish." (10/2019)
Starting Bid: $100.00

Bid on this bottle of 1980 Heitz Cellar "Martha's Vineyard" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (90DC, 90JG). Decanter: "1980 was a challenging vintage, and Heitz's Martha's Vineyard - an attractive middle-weight - is drinking at the apogee of its maturity. Red and black fruits, cocoa powder, cigar ash and autumn leaves meld together in a complex, tertiary bouquet, followed by a sappy, crisp palate with good depth and concentration. (WK)" (06/2016)
Starting Bid: $150.00

Bid on this magnum of 2014 Opus One Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (1.5L) (97JS, 96DC, 96RP, 96VN, 93WS). James Suckling: "Mesmerizing aromas of flowers, bark, currants and blackberries. So perfumed. You just want to smell it. Exquisite tension and finesse with an almost Burgundian texture, yet it’s Napa in its soul with ripe fruit, stones, spices and Chinese tea leaf flavors. Savory and delicious" (06/2017)
Starting Bid: $575.00

Bid on this bottle of 2014 Screaming Eagle Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (99JS, 97DC, 97JD, 97RP, 97VN, 95WS). James Suckling: "Extremely perfumed with blackberries, currants and flower. Rose petals, too. Seductive. Medium to full body. It grows on the palate with an extremely long finish that goes on for minutes. The tannins are ultra-fine and polished. Purity and essence to this. Feminine yet wild and unpredictable." (01/2017)

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2007 Lewelling Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (95RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The classic 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon tastes like proprietor Alfred Tesseron’s over-achieving 5th growth Pauillac, Chateau Pontet Canet moved to Napa. Bursting with creme de cassis, flower, lead pencil, and spice characteristics, it is a dense, pure, full-bodied wine with a terrific texture. This is a gorgeously harmonious, seamless Cabernet Sauvignon with awesome concentration as well as aging potential. Drink it now and over the next 25 years. (RP)" (12/2009)
Starting Bid: $130.00

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 1964 Gloria, St-Julien. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: " Gloria has always been used as an example of why the 1855 Classification of the Médoc wines is so outdated. Not included in the original classification are wines Gloria has made (from vineyards purchased from neighboring classified châteaux) during the last 25 years that in vintages such as...1970, 1966, and 1961 are certainly as good as many of the wines produced by many of the classified growths. Shrewd merchants and consumers have long known Gloria's quality... (Bordeaux: A Consumer's Guide to the World's Finest Wines, pg 264) (1/1985) "
Starting Bid: $120.00

Bid on this bottle of 2013 Hundred Acre "Ark Vineyard" Howell Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon (100RP, 93WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Ark Vineyard has a deep garnet color and nose of crème de cassis, blueberry compote and candied violets with hints of red roses, chocolate mint, stewed tea and yeast extract plus a hint of cumin. Full-bodied, rich and velvety, the palate is completely packed with spicy fruit, finishing with lingering earthy notes. (LPB)" (12/2018)
Starting Bid: $434.00

Bid on this bottle of 1999 Lafite Rothschild, Pauillac (94DC, 94RP, 94WS, 92VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 1999 Lafite Rothschild has a slightly more autumnal, leafy nose when compared to the 2000, but it has extremely good delineation and clarity with scents of brambly blackberry fruit, boysenberry, melted tar and a touch of allspice. The Merlot lends the aromatics more roundness. The palate is medium-bodied with a harmonious, smooth, spicy entry imparted by the dash of Petit Verdot. It is not powerful or even tannic, but it has a vibrancy and tension that makes it a very fine Lafite. Very elegant towards the blackberry and graphite finish with a long tail of citrus fresh blackberry and cedar on the finish. (NM)" (05/2012)
Starting Bid: $575.00

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2008 Cos d'Estournel, St-Estèphe (95JD, 95RP, 95WE, 94JS, 94VN, 92ST, 91WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The medium to deep garnet colored 2008 Cos d'Estournel is blended of 85% Cabernet Sauvignon, 13% Merlot and 2% Cabernet Franc. Pow! The nose explodes with notes of baked cherries, preserved plums, fried herbs, beef drippings and warm cassis with wafts of wood smoke, salami and tobacco leaf. Medium-bodied, the palate is elegant and earthy/savory in character, sporting beautifully ripe, grainy tannins and bags of freshness, finishing on a lingering mineral note. (LPB)" (11/2018)

Bid on this bottle of 2005 Silver Oak Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (91ST, 90DC, 90W&S). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Good deep red-ruby. Musky aromas of cassis, licorice, game, tobacco leaf and subtle brown spices. Velvety-sweet and deep, with hints of tobacco leaf, mint and herbs giving definition to the middle palate. Nicely bright but youthfully tight wine, finishing with broad tannins. Carrying a moderate 13.5% alcohol. Still tight, but then this won't be released until next winter. (ST) 91+" (05/2009)
Starting Bid: $130.00

Bid on this bottle of 1981 Léoville-Las Cases, St-Julien (90WS). Wine Spectator: "Crisp and elegant, a nicely crafted wine, with tobacco- and cedar-scented blackberry, currant and cherry flavors. Beautifully balanced and superbly crafted, lacking only the depth the better vintages have. (HS)" (02/1992)
Starting Bid: $126.00

Bid on this bottle of 2014 Ridge Vineyards "Monte Bello" Santa Cruz Mountains Cabernet Sauvignon (98JS, 97JD, 97RP, 96DC, 96VN, 94WS). James Suckling: "Unique aromas of blackberry, black currant, dark chocolate and walnut. Full body, very powerful and tannic. Incredible depth and power. Precise and so focused. Muscular. Great structure. This needs at least six to eight years to come together. *Top 100 of 2017*" (01/2018)

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2015 Hall "Eighteen Seventy-Three" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (93VN, 93WS, 90WE). Vinous: "The 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon 1873 is a gorgeous, mid-tier offering from Hall that draws fruit from a number of estate and grower parcels mainly in Rutherford, Howell Mountain and Atlas Peak. Pliant and racy, with plenty of forward fruit and soft contours, the 1873 is a terrific choice for drinking now and over the next few years. Kirsch, white chocolate, sweet spice and floral notes add to the wine's racy personality. (AG)" (12/2018)
Starting Bid: $230.00

Bid on this bottle of 2001 Joseph Phelps "Insignia" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (98RP, 96WE, 95VN, 95W&S, 93CG). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Still a young wine at age 12, the 2001 Insignia exhibits a dense purple color along with a sweet bouquet of camphor, blackberries, cassis, incense and spring flowers. Full-bodied, rich and heady with sweet tannin, stunning concentration and a fabulous finish, this remarkable Insignia has 25 or more years of life ahead of it. (RP) 98+" (11/2013)
Starting Bid: $215.00

Bid on this bottle of 2004 Colgin "Cariad" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (96RP, 96WS, 95ST, 95VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2004 Cariad, a blend of 54% Cabernet Sauvignon, 28% Merlot, 10% Petit Verdot and 8% Cabernet Franc, was made from fruit purchased from David Abreu’s vineyards, most of it coming from his St. Helena property, the Madrona Ranch. Always one of the most aromatically complex wines, the 2004 comes across as a Graves-like offering with enormous notes of scorched earth, a hot rocks sort of nose and meaty black currant and black cherry fruit. Some tannins are still left, but the wine is round, generously endowed, full-bodied and opulent with terrific complexity. (RP)" (04/2014)
Starting Bid: $210.00

Bid on this bottle of 2008 Screaming Eagle Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (97JS, 96VN, 95RP, 94WS). James Suckling: "This has a wonderful balance to it. It shows intense aromas of flowers and dark fruits with hints of incense and sandalwood. Changes all the time. Then goes to currants and flowers. Full and firm with a wonderful core of silky tannins that are polished and beautiful. Dark chocolate, vanilla bean, and dark fruit. Solid and firm. You could easy drink this but it has structure for aging as well. 88% Cabernet Sauvignon, 7% Caberent Franc and 5% Merlot. " (06/2011)
Starting Bid: $2,462.00

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2011 Ridge Vineyards "Estate" Santa Cruz Mountains Cabernet Sauvignon (93DC, 92VN, 91W&S). Decanter: "Maturing aromas of milk chocolate, toffee, black cherry and red plum. It is red-fruited, soft and charming on the palate, displaying flavours of pomegranate, dried rosemary and coffee beans. Ridge’s classic styling plays into the hands of the vintage, emphasising the intrinsic characteristics of the 82% of Cabernet Sauvignon in the blend, alongside 14% Merlot, 3% Petit Verdot and 1% Cabernet Franc." (02/2021)
Starting Bid: $205.00

Bid on this bottle of 2012 Schrader "Beckstoffer To Kalon - RBS" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (98RP, 96VN, 94JS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "This wine seems slightly more expansive, shares the black ruby/purple color with all of it siblings, and has a boatload of crème de cassis, incense, licorice, graphite and vanilla along with plenty of spice box and forest floor. This is a killer, full-bodied, super-duper, opulent Cabernet Sauvignon to drink over the next 20 years. (RP)" (10/2014)
Starting Bid: $205.00

Bid on this bottle of 2014 Scarecrow "M. Étain" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (94RP, 93WS, 92VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Celia Welch has hit a home run again with the legendary J.J. Cohn Vineyard in Rutherford, a site that includes a block of old vines planted in 1945, which certainly must make them some of the oldest Cabernet vines in all of Napa Valley. There are 2,000 cases of the 2014 Monsieur Etain, which is a great enough Cabernet by itself. Wonderfully pure crème de cassis notes with some white flowers, lead pencil shavings and incense are followed by a deep, full-bodied wine with silky tannins, a layered, multi-dimensional mouthfeel and a beautiful finish of 40+ seconds. This is an exquisite, dense, rich but sexy Cabernet Sauvignon. And now for the good news -- there are 2,000 cases of it. Drink it over the next 20 or more years. Drink through 2038. (RP)" (12/2016)

Of the 1995 Silver Oak Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon,Robert Parker's Wine Advocate writes: "The 1995 Cabernet Sauvignon Alexander Valley is performing far better after a year of bottle age. Bid on this bottle of 2013 Shafer "Hillside Select" Stags Leap District Cabernet Sauvignon (99JS, 98JD, 98RP, 98WE, 97VN, 94WS). James Suckling: "Wonderful floral aromas with perfumed roses plus hints of blackcurrants and spearmint. Full-bodied and so powerful and muscular but always showing the brightness and beauty of fruit. Winemakers say this reminds them of the 1978, their first year. It certainly has the structure — "those tannins" as they put it. Finish is so impressive with tar, iron and spices. " (01/2018)

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2016 Abreu "Cappella" Napa Valley Red Blend (99JS, 98VN, 97JD, 97WS). James Suckling: "Aromas of blackberries, graphite, and lead pencil. Bid on this magnum of 2014 Schrader ''Old Sparky'' Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (1.5L) (OWC - 98RP, 97JS) in original wood. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon Old Sparky, Fred Schrader's favorite selection, is clone 4 from the To Kalon Vineyard aged in 100% new Darnajou and seems closest in personality and overall style to the CCS. This is a beautiful wine with great intensity and seems to be one of the superstars of this vintage. Smoky barbecue notes intermix with charcoal embers, blackberry, cassis, Christmas fruitcake, licorice and camphor. (RP)" (10/2016)
Starting Bid: $650.00

Bid on this 4-bottle tasting lot; including 1-bottle of 2003 Chimney Rock "Elevage" Stags Leap District Bordeaux Blend (93W&S, 91WE), 1-bottle of 2004 Chimney Rock "Elevage" Stags Leap District Bordeaux Blend (93RP), and 2-bottles of 2005 Chimney Rock "Elevage" Stags Leap District Bordeaux Blend (92WE, 91RP, 90W&S). Of the 2003 Chimney Rock "Elevage" Stags Leap District Bordeaux Blend,Wine & Spirits writes: "This feels complete and classical in tone, an elegant red that carries its ripeness well. A blend of merlot, cabernet sauvignon, petit verdot and cabernet franc, it develops complex flavors from the balance of tart fruit and gentle dark-roast coffee tannins. Its smoky meatiness makes it feel accessible now, though it's balanced to develop over six to eight years in the cellar. When you do open it, try a bottle with lamb roasted with crushed peppercorns." (08/2006)
Starting Bid: $180.00

Bid on this 3 liter 1-bottle lot of 1992 Diamond Creek "Duke's Anniversary - Volcanic Hill" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (3L) in original wood. Al and Boots Brounstein founded Diamond Creek Vineyards in 1968. The three vineyards Brounstein planted have produced some of the most long-lived, elegant wines from the state of California, wines that make the case "that Diamond Creek is the finest producer of Cabernet Sauvignon in America," according to wine writer Pierre DuMont. This bottling comes from the eight-acre Volcanic Hill vineyard, which has ashy volcanic soils deposited by the eruption of Mt. Konocti eight million years ago. The wines from this site are Diamond Creek's longest lived, "loaded with intense ripe berry fruit, cassis, violets and a smoky richness," according to the winery.

Of the 1994 Pontet-Canet, Pauillac,Robert Parker's Wine Advocate writes: "One of the finest as well as longest-lived wines of the vintage, this opaque purple-colored 1994 needs 7-10 years of cellaring. This rich, impressive, full-bodied wine represents the finest Pontet-Canet produced since the 1961. This full-bodied, purely made wine is crammed with black currant fruit, as well as forbiddingly tannic and backward. (RP)" (01/1998)

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2013 Orin Swift "Mercury Head" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (98RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 100% Cabernet Sauvignon aged 18 months in 50% new French oak, is the 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Mercury Head. Certainly one of the more intriguing labels, with a real Mercury-head dime embedded in the glass bottle, this 4,500-case cuvée comes from blocks in Taplin, Morisoli and Atlas Peak vineyards. The final blend is a selection of their best barrels, bottled and aged another six months prior to release. This is a killer Cabernet Sauvignon, full-bodied and multilayered, with stunning blueberry and blackberry fruit, floral acacia notes, a hint of brioche and subtle toasty oak followed by a massive, full-bodied wine with sweet tannin and beautifully integrated acidity, alcohol and wood. This profound Cabernet Sauvignon should drink well now and for 25+ years. Dave Phinney may well be 2015's winemaker of the year for this wine taster. (RP)" (10/2015)

Bid on this magnum of 2014 Myriad "Beckstoffer Dr. Crane Vineyard - Elysian Reserve" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (1.5L) (97JD, 96RP, 94JS). Jeb Dunnuck: "Unquestionably the largest scaled and most concentrated in the lineup, the 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer Dr. Crane Vineyard Elysian is a deep, unctuous, yet incredibly elegant beauty that does everything right. Its inky purple color is followed by heavenly notes of crème de cassis, blueberry liqueur, burning embers and dark chocolate. It picks up a floral edge with time in the glass, has sensational depth and richness, and a seamless finish, all while playing in the more forward style of the vintage." (07/2017)

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2015 Larkmead "Dr. Olmo" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (97JS, 97VN, 96JD, 95WE, 94RP). Vinous: "The 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon Dr. Olmo has really come together since I last tasted it from barrel. Graphite, smoke, crushed rocks, spice and rose petal overtones give the 2015 Dr. Olmo its distinctive aromatic signatures. The 2015 finishes with remarkable tension and energy. What a gorgeous wine it is. (AG)" (03/2018)
