Wine Enthusiast: This stellar, powerhouse wine is perfumed in aromas of pencil, leather and sage that season a core of mineral and crushed rock. The fruit is equally savory in currant and plum, with a dusting of dark chocolate. *Editors' Choice* (VB) (11/2019)

Bid on this magnum of 1987 Silver Oak "Bonny's Vineyard" Cabernet Sauvignon (1.5L).
Starting Bid: $220.00

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2014 Opus One Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (97JS, 96DC, 96RP, 96VN, 93WS). James Suckling: "Mesmerizing aromas of flowers, bark, currants and blackberries. So perfumed. You just want to smell it. Exquisite tension and finesse with an almost Burgundian texture, yet it’s Napa in its soul with ripe fruit, stones, spices and Chinese tea leaf flavors. Savory and delicious. (JS)" (01/2018)
Starting Bid: $780.00

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2016 Repris "Right Bank - Moon Mountain Vineyard" Sonoma County Bordeaux Blend. This "Right Bank" blend from Repris is 60% Merlot and 40% Cabernet Franc from the Moon Mountain District in Sonoma.
Starting Bid: $170.00

Bid on this magnum of 1991 Silver Oak Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (1.5L) (95RP, 90WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "This superb Cabernet producer has finally released its splendid 1991s. The compelling 1991 Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley exhibits more classic cassis notes without the subtle herbaceousness of the Alexander Valley wine. It is a multi-layered, fabulously rich, intense wine with full body, a velvety texture, and oodles of fruit, glycerin, and soft tannin in the finish. Both wines are already delicious, and will age gracefully for 12-15 years. (RP)" (10/1995)
Starting Bid: $200.00

Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 1988 Robert Mondavi "Reserve" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Dark ruby, with a light intensity nose of cassis and cigar box aromas, this wine exhibits good concentration, softness, adequate ripeness, and a short finish. (RP)" (04/1994)
Starting Bid: $360.00

Bid on this magnum of 1997 Joseph Phelps "Insignia" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (1.5L) (100RP, 97WS, 95WE, 94ST, 93W&S). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "An inky/plum/purple color is accompanied by a stunning bouquet of violets, charcoal, creme de cassis and a hint of toast. Prodigious when it hits the palate with a full-bodied expansiveness, there is not a hard edge to be found in the 1997, only velvety tannins, compelling depth and fruit intensity, and stunning purity. It is a perfect expression of Napa viticulture and wine that should continue to age effortlessly for two decades or more. (RP)" (11/2013)
Starting Bid: $600.00

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2002 Caymus Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (93WS, 92CG). Wine Spectator: "Lots of rich, creamy oak and a tasty core of ripe currant, plum and black cherry fruit combine to form this notably complex and concentrated young wine. Delicious from start to finish, with a long, fruity aftertaste and fine-grained tannins. *Collectibles* (JL)" (12/2004)
Starting Bid: $170.00

Bid on this 3 liter of 1990 Caymus Napa Cabernet Sauvignon (3L).

Bid on this bottle of 2018 Realm "Beckstoffer To Kalon Vineyard" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (98JD, 98JS, 98RP, 97VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Deep garnet-purple colored, it rolls sensuously out of the glass with decadent scents of boysenberries, black cherries, redcurrant jelly and blackcurrant pastilles with hints of bouquet garni, black soil and iron ore. Full-bodied, the taut, tightly knit black and red fruit has a firm structure of ripe, grainy tannins and bags of freshness, finishing very long with loads of earth and mineral nuances coming through. (LPB) 98+" (10/2020)
Starting Bid: $350.00

Bid on this magnum of 2013 Scarecrow Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (1.5L) (OWC - 100RP, 97VN, 95WS) in original wood. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The prodigious 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate is 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, including fruit from some of the oldest Cabernet vines still in existence in Napa. This full-bodied classic displays notes of forest floor, earth, crème de cassis, blackberry liqueur, licorice and some pen ink. It is dense, full-bodied, prodigiously rich, massive in intensity, yet relatively light on its feet. This great ballerina of a wine has extraordinary ripeness but pulls back from the edge before going over the top. There are 1, 000 cases of this classic, which should age effortlessly for 30+ years. (RP)" (12/2015)
Starting Bid: $1,180.00

Bid on this 3-bottle tasting lot; including 1-bottle of 2001 Jones Family Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (95RP), 1-bottle of 2004 Jones Family Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (90RP), and 1-bottle of 2005 Jones Family Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (91RP). Of the 2001 Jones Family Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon, Robert Parker's Wine Advocate writes: "The 2001 Cabernet Sauvignon is one of the finest offerings I have tasted from Jones Family. An inky/purple color is accompanied by sumptuous aromas of sweet blueberry, blackberry, and cassis fruit, licorice, and toasty background oak. This full-bodied, unctuously-textured 2001 possesses tremendous purity, palate presence, and balance. The finish lasts 40+ seconds. (RP)" (12/2003)
Starting Bid: $165.00

Bid on this bottle of 2001 Plumpjack "Reserve" Oakville Cabernet Sauvignon (94RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The most evolved, the 2001 Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve, appears to be close to full maturity, although it is capable of lasting another 10-15+ years. The creamier of these two wines, it reveals abundant black currant, cedar, licorice, graphite and inky characteristics, medium to full body and a ripe, opulent, spicy personality. (RP)" (06/2011)
Starting Bid: $110.00

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 1986 Château Montelena "Estate" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (96RP, 92VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "What a remarkable performance! I must admit that I purchased more of the 1985 and 1987, somehow neglecting to secure much of the 1986. Do I feel stupid? As I have written so many times in the past, every time I do a vertical tasting of Chateau Montelena Cabernet Sauvignons, they taste better than my initial laudatory notes suggested. This great wine exhibits a black/purple color, a fabulous, sweet, pure, cassis-scented nose, massive body and richness, and total harmony among its components - fruit, wood, alcohol, acidity, and tannin. Still exceptionally youthful and vigorous, with no signs of age in either its color or taste, this 1986 could easily pass for a 3-4 year old California Cabernet. (RP)" (08/1996)
Starting Bid: $270.00

Bid on this bottle of 1987 Niebaum-Coppola "Rubicon" Napa Valley Bordeaux Red. Lovers of Inglenook's old wines will recognize the name Niebaum, which refers to that winery's founder, a sea captain named Gustave Niebaum. Francis Coppola acquired much of the property and began reconstructing the estate back in the mid-1970s. Formerly Rubicon Estate, Francis Ford Coppola reacquired the rights to the "Inglenook" namesake in 2011 and has restored the original name of his historic Napa Valley estate. The Rubicon name remains the moniker of this signature estate wine.
Starting Bid: $50.00

Bid on this magnum of 1997 Dunn Howell Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon (1.5L) (97DC, 95RP). Decanter: "At the peak of its powers, the 1997 Howell Mountain is bursting with black fruit, graphite, wood smoke and hints of tar and truffle. On the palate the wine is rich, plush and generous but well balanced, with great length and depth. A certain suppleness nods to the vintage's warmth, but that's by no means unwelcome in this typically firm-framed cuvée. (WK)"
Starting Bid: $235.00

Bid on this magnum of 2013 Morlet "Mon Chevalier" Knights Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (1.5L) (96VN, 95RP). Vinous: "The 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Mon Chevalier is one of the best wines of the year at Morlet. Ripe, exuberant and richly layered in the glass, the 2013 possesses nearly extravagant richness. This is an especially opulent style for Knights Valley. Some of the more savory notes typical of the appellation are hidden by the lushness of the fruit, but the pedigree and personality of this site can't be denied. (AG)" (03/2017)
Starting Bid: $210.00

Bid on this bottle of 1999 Pride Mountain Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon. The cult following for Pride Mountain has been in full force for years now. Situated high up at the top of Spring Mountain, the winery straddles the Sonoma-Napa county line and commands a spectacular view of Mount St. Helena. The property was a winery well over 100 years ago, and now produces some of the more sought-after wines in California. The reviewers tend to agree with the collectors, as the wines regularly achieve fantastic scores in numerous respected publications.
Starting Bid: $50.00

Bid on this magnum of 2016 Larkmead "LMV Salon" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (1.5L).

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2016 Staglin Family Vineyard "Estate" Rutherford Cabernet Sauvignon (97JD, 97RP, 96JS, 95VN, 93DC, 93WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate bursts out of the glass with beautiful black cherry compote, warm cassis and freshly crushed blackberries scents plus touches of chargrill, violets, dark chocolate and pencil shavings and a waft of English lavender. Full-bodied, the palate features great intensity combined with fantastic freshness, textured by soft, finely grained tannins and lifted by the most gorgeous floral perfume, finishing long and layered. Beautiful wine. (LPB)" (09/2019)

Bid on this 3-bottle tasting lot; including 2-bottles of 2018 Rivers-Marie Calistoga Cabernet Sauvignon (95RP, 94JD, 91VN) and 1-bottle of 2018 Rivers-Marie Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (94JD, 94VN). Of the 2018 Rivers-Marie Calistoga Cabernet Sauvignon, Robert Parker's Wine Advocate writes: "Made from 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, the 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Calistoga is deep garnet-purple colored, charging out of the gate with savory notions of sautéed herbs, beef drippings and truffles with a core of crème de cassis , baked plums and mulberries. Full-bodied, rich and concentrated, it has a solid backbone of firm, velvety tannins and really compelling earthy undertones to all that decadent black fruit, finishing long and layered. (LPB)" (02/2021)
Starting Bid: $190.00

Bid on this bottle of 1985 Chateau Montelena "Estate" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (92RP, 92VN). Vinous: "Good full medium red. Some very ripe notes as well as a black tea coolness to the rather claret-like aromas of dark berries, licorice, menthol, tobacco and balsamic cedar. Perhaps the silkiest vintage to this point of the tasting and distinctly Bordeaux-like in its texture and complexity, delivering complex flavors of red and darker fruits, mocha, spices and flowers. Barrett noted that the picking weather was "too hot in 1984, too cold in 1985 and just right in 1986." But the fruit in 1985 benefitted from very good hang time. A second bottle of nearly equal quality (91) showed a stronger note of cedary oak, which gave the finish a faint dryness. (13.5% alcohol) (ST)" (05/2019)
Starting Bid: $100.00

Bid on this 2-magnum lot of 1990 Beringer Private Reserve Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (1.5L) (94RP, 94WS, 92VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: Production: 10, 300 cases; Alcohol: 13.4%; Blend: 99% Cabernet Sauvignon and 1% Cabernet Franc; Harvest Dates: September 18 - October 11 Unlike more recent offerings, the 1990 came from three Napa Valley parcels, the Chabot Vineyard on the east side of Napa, Beringer’s Home Vineyard in St. Helena and the Bancroft Vineyard on Howell Mountain. 1990 experienced one of Napa Valley’s most exceptional growing seasons with a later than usual bud break, and a hot May, which served as a catalyst for early flowering and a large crop set. After some disquieting light rain in late August, dry, warm weather returned in September and October, resulting in ideal conditions for the harvest. The 1990 is fully mature, but it appears to have another decade of aging left. (RP) (06/2011)
Starting Bid: $460.00

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2010 Jones Family "The Sisters" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (93RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon The Sisters offers up freshly cut flowers, sweet red berries and spices. The Sisters is an incredibly juicy, approachable wine with tons of early appeal. The acidity and vibrancy of the vintage come through, but ultimately this is one of the more open 2010s readers are likely to come across. A sleek, sensual wine, the 2010 is incredibly inviting from the very first taste. It is also a terrific value within the context of Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon. (AG)" (12/2012)
Starting Bid: $110.00

Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2009 Inglenook "Cask" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (90RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon Cask shows a little more finesse than the 2010, with better balance between the fruit and tannin. Sweet red berries, mocha, flowers and mint are some of the many notes that emerge as this nuanced, silky Cabernet opens up over time. There is still plenty of 2009 structure, but it is nicely balanced. The 2009 Cask needs to be cellared or decanted for a few hours in order for all of the elements to come together. This is a lovely showing. The 2009 is 95% Cabernet Sauvignon and 5% Petit Verdot. Anticipated maturity: 2014-2024. Proprietor Francis Ford Coppola continues to move forward with his project to restore Inglenook, one of Napa Valley’s historic estates, to its previous glory.(AG)" (12/2012)
Starting Bid: $240.00

Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 1991 Simi Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon. Ready to drink and beautifully cellared California Cabernet with aromas of green tobacco and sun-baked cassis.
Starting Bid: $140.00

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 1990 Stonestreet Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon. Wine Spectator: "Ripe and spicy with a pretty core of ripe cherry and raspberry flavor. Finishes with firm tannins and good length." (11/1994)
Starting Bid: $90.00

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2003 Jones Family Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (90RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The saturated dark plum/ruby/purple-tinged 2003 Cabernet Sauvignon offers hints of garrigue, licorice, smoke, plums, blueberries, and black currants in its medium-bodied personality. More austere than the 2002, but nicely structured, rich, and impressively pure with moderately high, but sweet tannin, it will benefit from 1-3 years of bottle age. Consume it over the following 8-10 years." (12/2005)
Starting Bid: $150.00

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2006 Jones Family Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (90WE). Wine Enthusiast: "Forward and attractive now, although the tannins are firm and provide a bold structure. Shows great aromatics in the roasted coffeebean, blackberry preserves, pain grillé, anise and cedar, with similar flavors. Polished and dynamic." (04/2010)
Starting Bid: $90.00

Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 2015 Austin Hope Paso Robles Cabernet Sauvignon (97WE). Wine Enthusiast: "Vintner Austin Hope, whose family is intertwined in the rise of Paso Robles, spent years working to release a wine of this caliber. Dark and thick in the glass, aromas of black currant and blueberry meet with roasted coffee, chocolate syrup and baked plum on the wondrous nose. The palate is soft and extremely expressive, with blueberry, black pepper, firm midpalate tannins and a finish that’s redolent of cappuccino candies. (MK)" (03/2018)
Starting Bid: $220.00

Bid on this 5-bottle lot of 2006 Clark-Claudon Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2006 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate reveals a similar dark ruby/purple color with some lightening at the edge. The nose is more restrained and locked in, but with significant coaxing, aromas of cedar box, forest floor, roasted herbs, charcoal, and black currants began to emerge. (RP)" (12/2009)
Starting Bid: $235.00

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2011 Jones Family "The Sisters" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon. Lisa Perrotti-Brown writes: "The Jones Family vineyard is located off Bale Lane in Calistoga and was planted to all five Bordeaux varieties by David Abreu in the early 1990s. Heidi Barrett made the wines until 2008, and Thomas Rivers Brown now makes the wines. The Sisters is the more approachable, fruit-focused, deselection wine."
Starting Bid: $75.00

Bid on this magnum of 1998 Araujo "Eisele Vineyard" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (1.5L) (92RP, 91ST, 90WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 1998 Cabernet Sauvignon Eisele Vineyard was bottled earlier than usual as this vintage is not as massive or concentrated as its predecessors. To my palate, the 1998 is good, although I am not convinced it will be long lived. There are 2, 300 cases of this 90% Cabernet Sauvignon, 7% Petit-Verdot, and 3% Cabernet Franc blend. It is supple and elegant, with a complex, evolved bouquet of smoke, black currants, spice box, and cedar. In the mouth, the wine is forward with sweet tannin, gorgeously rich, concentrated fruit, and impressively integrated acidity and tannin. (RP)" (12/2000)
Starting Bid: $400.00

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2005 Cliff Lede Stags Leap District Cabernet Sauvignon (93VN, 92RP). Vinous: "Deep red-ruby. Deep aromas of currant, mulberry, tobacco, earth and musky game; the least obviously oaky of these wines. Suave on entry, then silky and fine-grained, with a restrained sweetness but considerable early appeal to the seamless berry and soil flavors. Finishes broad, with a fine dusting of tannins and excellent persistence. As good a wine as I've tasted to date from this producer. (ST)" (05/2009)
Starting Bid: $90.00

Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2014 Boatique Red Hills Lake County Cabernet Sauvignon. Boatique is located at 2266 feet above sea level in the mountains just north of Napa and Sonoma. Bordeaux varietals thrive in the volcanic soils of the Red Hills Lake County AVA.
Starting Bid: $160.00

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2018 Buehler Estate "Papa's Knoll" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (96VN, 92JS, 91DC, 90JD). Vinous: "The 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Papa's Knoll emerges from a single block in the estate. It is the richest and most voluptuous of these wines, but it balances that fruit intensity with tons of energy. Ripe red cherry, blood orange, cinnamon, mint and star anise give the 2018 its decidedly exotic personality. Ripe and expressive, with soft tannins, the 2018 is an absolute joy to taste. (AG)" (03/2021)
Starting Bid: $120.00

Bid on this 2-magnum lot of 1996 La Jota 15th Anniversary Release Howell Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon (1.5L) (96RP, 93WS, 92ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: The 1996 Cabernet Sauvignon 15th Anniversary Release (1, 050 cases produced) boasts an opaque purple color, as well as beautiful aromas of smoke, blackberries, Asian spices, charcoal, and subtle truffle-like scents. Huge, massive, and full-bodied, with phenomenal flavor extraction, and beautifully integrated tannin and acidity, this flamboyant, exceptionally well-endowed wine continues the succession of titanic wines made under this label. (RP) (12/1998)
Starting Bid: $300.00

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2013 Myriad "Beckstoffer Georges III" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (98JD, 98RP, 93JS, 92VN, 92WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "An absolutely fabulous wine, the 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer Georges III Vineyard has an inky bluish/purple color, extraordinary nose of graphite, blueberry and blackberry liqueur, forest floor and spring flora. The wine hits the palate with a full-bodied richness, stunning purity and an absolutely magnificent texture and length. It would be difficult to want more in a bottle of Cabernet Sauvignon than this. (RP)" (12/2015)
Starting Bid: $230.00

Bid on this bottle of 2014 Quintessa Rutherford Bordeaux Blend (97JS, 94RP, 93DC, 92WS). James Suckling: "Aromas of spearmint, sweet tobacco, cigars and blackcurrants follow through to a medium to full body, very polished and refined tannins and an intense finish. Extremely fine and long. Savory. Extremely long finish. Biodynamically grown." (01/2017)
Starting Bid: $115.00

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 1983 Robert Mondavi "Reserve" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon. Jancis Robinson: "Aromatics of black licorice (like the American candy Good & Plenty). The palate carries notes of cedar and eucalyptus with touches of dark chocolate and a sour cherry finish. Firm, persistent tannin is coupled with persistent gravelly minerality and elevated acidity for a long finish. 17/20 points. (ECB)" (04/2016) K&L Notes: You can't talk about Napa Valley wine, or any California wine for that matter, without mentioning the incredible debt owed to Robert Mondavi. His passion and ingenuity are synonmous with Napa's rise. The winery's reseve collection wines are designed to be the ultimate expression of terroir, using the finest fruit from the best blocks, and carefully fermenting them to create elegant, long-lived wines. Even at 30+ years old, a well-stored bottled of Mondavi Reserve Cab can show cherry and plum fruit, along with a cadre of secondary nuances.
Starting Bid: $270.00

Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 1987 Mount Veeder Napa Valley Meritage. Mount Veeder Winery is a dramatic estate with three vineyards carved high in the hillsides of the Mayacamas Mountains, overlooking southern Napa Valley. The property totals 121 acres, mostly forest and brush, out of which only 47 are planted to vine.Vines ranging from 1, 000–1, 600 feet in elevation cling to rugged, steep slopes that offer cool conditions that lead to slow ripening, which extends the growing season. Mount Veeder is usually the last to harvest in Napa Valley. The result is fruit with highly concentrated flavors - big, bold and brambly - a Cab lover's feast.Mount Veeder Winery was the first in Napa Valley to plant all five red Bordeaux varieties in the same vineyard. Its expertise with these grapes is manifest in Mount Veeder Winery Reserve, a meritage blend of these noble grapes, which are still grown on the property.
Starting Bid: $230.00

Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 2016 Anakota "Helena Montana Vineyard" Knights Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (96RP, 94JS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon Helena Montana Vineyard (100% Cabernet Sauvignon) comes from a vineyard that contains more volcanic rock. Deep purple-black in color, it reveals slightly tarry notes to begin, soon opening out to beautiful black cherry, black berry and warm cassis scents with hints of cigar box, charcuterie, licorice and Indian spices. The palate is medium to full-bodied, with a rock-solid frame of grainy tannins and wonderful freshness supporting the densely packed earth layers, finishing very long and savory. This needs time! (LPB)" (10/2018)
Starting Bid: $220.00

Bid on this magnum of 1998 Harlan Estate Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (1.5L) (95RP, 93ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 1998, which is a candidate for the "Wine of the Vintage, " was produced from yields of 0.9 tons per acre. There are only 1, 100 cases, and it is the first Harlan Estate to be composed of 100% Cabernet Sauvignon. A spectacular achievement, it boasts an opaque plum/purple color as well as a sumptuous nose of espresso, mineral, blueberry, blackberry, tobacco, licorice, Asian spice, and roasted meat smells. In the mouth, it is seamless, full-bodied, with an unctuous texture, gorgeously sweet tannin, and layer upon layer of concentration. This is a tour de force in winemaking. It is hard to believe that a wine such as this has emerged from 1998. (RP)" (12/2000)
Starting Bid: $1,000.00

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 1991 Philip Togni Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (96RP, 90VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "It is one of the most unique wines I have ever tasted from Togni. The warm year yielded an abundant crop. At the time, Togni also made a white wine. Because of the size of the crop, the harvest took longer than normal, which meant the red grapes spent a little longer on the vine than they would have otherwise. The 1991 presents an intriguing combination of raciness from the super-ripe fruit, but within the classic Togni framework. Sweet tobacco, camphor, savory herbs, licorice and worn-in leather are some of the nuances that add complexity to the fruit. Layers of liqueur-like sweetness frame the beguiling finish. The 1991 is currently peaking, and it won’t last forever, but readers lucky enough to taste this wine are in for a real treat. I have been fortunate to taste the 1991 twice over the last few months, and it has been hypnotic both times. (AG)" (12/2011)
Starting Bid: $440.00

Bid on this magnum of 1997 Chateau Montelena "Estate" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (1.5L) (98RP, 95WS, 93VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "There are 10, 200 cases of the remarkable 1997 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate. Opaque purple-colored with a dense, chewy, full-bodied personality, it displays abundant cassis, mineral, and earth notes. This brilliantly made, super-concentrated, pure, blockbuster possesses sweet tannin as well as a terrific finish. Having added additional weight since last year, this sumptuous, multilayered, profoundly concentrated Cabernet contains 14% alcohol. (RP)" (12/2000)
Starting Bid: $300.00

Bid on this bottle of 2013 Opus One Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (100DC, 100JS, 98RP, 97VN). James Suckling: "The greatest Opus ever. Terrific aromas of crushed black currants, blueberries and flowers with hints of sweet tobacco. Roses continue to exude opulence and class. Full body, superb balance of ultra-fine tannins and vibrant acidity. Complex aftertaste of black fruits and citrus fruit. Extremely persistent. So approachable now and enjoyable. But will be even better in 2019 and beyond. 79% Cabernet Sauvignon, 7% Cabernet Franc, 6% Merlot, 6% Petit Verdot, 2% Malbec. This will always be beautiful to drink." (09/2016)
Starting Bid: $440.00

Bid on this bottle of 1975 Robert Mondavi Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (92JG). John Gilman: "In my feature on the fine Cabernet Sauvignon bottlings from the Robert Mondavi winery several years ago, I did not have a note on the 1975 regular bottling of Cabernet, so I was very happy to find a bottle at auction not too long ago to add to my cellar. As I mentioned back in that feature, the distance between the “regular” and the “Reserve” Cabernets here was not all that dramatic back in the decade of the 1970s and the 1975 has aged long and gracefully and remains at its apogee of peak drinkability today. The bouquet offers up a refined blend of black cherries, cigar wrapper, a complex base of soil tones, dried eucalyptus and a gentle framing of cedary oak. " (05/2020)
Starting Bid: $115.00

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2010 Philip Togni "Estate" Spring Mountain District Cabernet Sauvignon (95RP, 95VN, 94ST, 93JG). Vinous: "Musky but precise scents of dark mountain berries, wild herbs, violet and spices; a distinctly wild style of Cabernet. Uncompromisingly dry yet surprisingly supple on entry, then intense, sharply delineated and alive in the middle palate, showing a repeating pungent wild herb quality to its intense dark berry flavors. Not at all a sweet style but subtle and extremely long, with the tannins remarkably suave for mountain fruit. There's a peppery, savory energy here that I love but also plenty of body and palate presence. Finishes with terrific lift and emerging notes of leather and pine needles. A bit sauvage and idiosyncratic, this Cabernet is the full Togni. Boasts outstanding potential longevity. (ST)" (05/2020)
Starting Bid: $330.00

Bid on this bottle of 2018 Realm "Beckstoffer Dr. Crane Vineyard" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (100RP, 98JD, 98VN, 97JS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Made from 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, the 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer Dr Crane Vineyard displays an opaque purple-black color. It saunters confidently out of the glass with compelling notes of warm black plums, blackcurrant cordial, Morello cherries and black raspberries followed by an opulent perfume of exotic spices, dusty soil, rose oil and crushed rocks with a waft of sandalwood. Full-bodied, rich, seductive and so, so spicy, the palate possesses a multitude of savory, earth and preserved fruit layers, framed by an achingly beautiful velvety texture and seamless freshness, finishing long, long, long—truly showing off its latent power. Like a gorgeous intellectual, this is a wine that will absolutely turn heads and create a stir. (LPB)" (10/2020)
