Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 1997 Dow's Vintage Port (95WS, 94WE, 92ST, 90RP). Wine Spectator: "Warm and inviting, with a worn leather feel to the mix of dried anise, espresso, bittersweet cocoa, steeped fig and mulled currant notes, which move seamlessly together through the buckwheat-edged finish. There's plenty here to like now, but this has ample energy for additional development. (JM, Web Only-2017)"
Starting Bid: $180.00

Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 2000 Dow's Vintage Port (99JS, 95WE, 94RP, 93VN, 93WS). James Suckling: "Shows the intense ripeness of the vintage with hints of raisins and other dried fruits. Full-bodied, medium sweet and so very velvety. A big mouthful. Superb. Just starting to open." (01/2017)
Starting Bid: $240.00

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 1977 Taylor Vintage Port (98VN, 97WS, 96RP, 95WE, 93JG). Vinous: "The 1977 Taylor's Vintage Port is initially tight and conservative on the nose: strawberry, baked cherry, tobacco and wild hedgerow notes emerging but remaining tight-lipped. This needs a good decant! The palate is endowed with depth and concentration, very well balanced with an attractive crispness. Perhaps you could argue that it is a "linear" and more "correct" Taylor's compared to the 1970 and lacks some charm. But there is immense complexity here so it is more a case of a Port demanding a very long maturation in bottle. (NM)" (06/2018)
Starting Bid: $235.00

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 1963 Niepoort Colheita Port (91WS). Wine Spectator: "Thick, rich, complex flavors of honey, molasses and citrus. Full in body, very sweet, long, crisp finish. Extremely well balanced. (JS)" (01/1996)
Starting Bid: $375.00

Bid on this bottle of 2008 Hundred Acre "Fortification" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (OWC - 100RP) in original wood. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Additional proof that maverick genius Jayson Woodbridge is at the top of his game, the 2008 Fortification is another perfect fortified wine. It offers up notes of white flowers, blackberry liqueur, charcoal embers, licorice and chocolate as well as a striking resemblance to one of my favorite dark roast coffees from the Death Wish Coffee Company. Inky, rich and full-bodied with smooth, silky tannins, and gorgeously integrated brandy which does not burn or come across as rough or astringent (even in such a young fortified wine), this utterly profound wine should age for 50 or more years." (06/2014)
Starting Bid: $305.00

Bid on this bottle of 1962 d'Yquem, Sauternes (91RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Tasted at the Fine Wine Experience 1962 Bordeaux horizontal. Moderate Clear lucid gold with green tints. The nose is very elegant and well defined, touches of wet wool, honey, wood resin and barley sugar (a la Barsac). I wish it had more vigour and complexity, for it is rather overwhelmed by the Coutet and the Suduiraut. The palate is far better than the nose with a lovely creamy, harmonious texture with perfect acidity and balance. Citrus peel, fresh ginger, dried apricot, ginger and orange sorbet with noticeable residual sugar on the finish. This is probably an underrated Yquem given market prices, but the modest nose means I must temper my appraisal. (NM)" (11/2010)
Starting Bid: $365.00
