Bid on this bottle of 2016 Vice Versa "Magnificent Seven" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (100JD, 98RP). Jeb Dunnuck: "A blend of the very best from the three vineyards, To Kalon, Las Piedras, and Dr. Crane, the 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon The Magnificent Seven is pure magic and one of the top wines in the vintage as well as perfect Cabernet. Unfortunately, there’s only one barrel, but it offers a deep purple color as well as an extraordinary bouquet of blackcurrants, lavender, camphor, scorched earth, and Asian spices. About as massive as they come, with a deep, layered texture, it nevertheless is insanely pure, has ultra-fine tannins, no hard edges, and a finish that won’t quit. Hats off to winemaker Philippe Melka and the whole team at Vice Versa. This is a display of consistency and quality that’s both rare and awe-inspiring." (01/2019)
Starting Bid: $700.00

Bid on this bottle of 2016 Futo Oakville Bordeaux Blend (98JS, 98WA, 97VN, 97JD). "WA 98+ This wine comes from Futo's Oakville estate: six separate vineyard sites at 250 to 500 feet in elevation planted on decomposed sandstone and shale from ancient uplifted seabed. The first vintage was 2004. The 2016 Proprietary Red Estate is blended of 77% Cabernet Sauvignon, 18% Cabernet Franc, 3% Petit Verdot and 2% Merlot. Deep garnet-purple colored, it slowly unfurls to offer wonderfully savory notions of smoked meats, sautéed herbs, tapenade and truffles over a core of warm cassis, blackberry pie and kirsch plus suggestions of tilled soil, fallen leaves and espresso. Medium to full-bodied and built like a brick house, the lithe, muscular fruit is tightly intertwined with loads of mineral and savory nuances plus a firm frame of ripe, grainy tannins and seamless freshness, finishing very long and incredibly layered. It was bottled unfined and unfiltered; 658 cases were made."
Starting Bid: $250.00

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2016 Continuum Oakville Bordeaux Blend (100JS, 100VN, 99RP, 95WE). Vinous: "The 2016 Proprietary Red Wine Sage Mountain Vineyard may very well be the single greatest vintage made here thus far. It is quite simply a stunning wine and a towering achievement from the Mondavi family. Powerful, ample and sweeping in stature, the 2016 boasts breathtaking intensity in all of its dimensions. I see the pure, vibrant fruit of the 2013, but with more finessed tannins that add to the wine's feeling of real sensuality. Bright, precise and finely sculpted with remarkable persistence and perfectly integrated tannins, the 2016 is positively stellar - not to mention one of the wines of the vintage. (AG)" (01/2020)
Starting Bid: $340.00

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2016 Realm "Beckstoffer Dr. Crane Vineyard" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (100RP, 98JD, 97JS, 96VN, 96WE, 95DC). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer Dr Crane Vineyard (100% Cabernet Sauvignon) is very deep garnet-black in color and gives a truly profound nose of chargrill, pencil lead, crushed rocks and tar with a core of crème de cassis, licorice, dark chocolate and mincemeat pie with wafts of cardamom and cumin seed. The powerful, full-bodied palate gives a firm, ripe structure to match the incredible concentration of fruit, finishing long and earthy. (LPB)" (10/2018)

Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2016 Sea Smoke "Ten" Sta. Rita Hills Pinot Noir (93VN). Vinous: "Sea Smoke's 2016 Pinot Noir Ten is rich, boisterous and inviting from the very first taste. A wine of real immediacy and impact, the Ten has so much to offer. Black cherry, plum, hard candy, lavender, sweet spice and new oak are front and center in this lush, beautifully persistent Pinot Noir from Sea Smoke. The Ten will appeal most to readers who appreciate lush Pinots. There is certainly plenty to like here, that much is obvious. (AG)" (09/2019)
Starting Bid: $430.00

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2016 Joseph Drouhin Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru "Les Baudes". Chambolle Les Baudes is always an under-rated wine from the Drouhin portfolio, in my opinion. It is located just below Bonnes Mares, Grand Cru, but does not command the premium of some other Premier Crus. Drouhin's holdings are in the flatter portion of the vineyard, the area with a more Chambolle character, in my judgment. It is cultivated biodynamically and has been farmed organically for more than 20 years. (Keith Wollenberg, K&L Burgundy buyer) *Biodynamic*
Starting Bid: $200.00

Bid on this magnum of 2016 Peter Michael "Les Pavots" Knights Valley Bordeaux Blend (1.5L) (99JS, 98JD, 96DC, 95RP, 95VN). James Suckling: "Blackberries, blueberries, raspberry kir, sweet tobacco and black truffle. Full bodied with chewy tannins and superb texture and length. Extremely poised and powerful. Finishes with so much fresh leather and blueberries. Goes on for minutes. Try after 2023." (05/2019)
Starting Bid: $375.00

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2016 Joseph Phelps "Backus" Oakville Cabernet Sauvignon (98JD, 98RP, 96JS, 95VN, 94WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon Backus Vineyard is a blend of 88% Cabernet Sauvignon, 7% Malbec and 5% Petit Verdot, aged for 24 months in 100% new French oak and bottled in Jan 2019. Deep garnet-purple colored, it charges out of the gate with bold blackberry pie, black currant pastilles and warm blueberries notes with touches of menthol, mocha, cardamom, iron ore and cinnamon stick plus a waft of black olives. The full-bodied palate delivers mouth-coating black and blue fruits with a vast array of earth and spicy sparks, framed by firm, grainy tannins and just enough freshness, finishing long and mineral laced. (LPB)" (10/2019)
Starting Bid: $550.00

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2016 Chappellet "Pritchard Hill Estate" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (100JD, 100RP, 97VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon Pritchard Hill has a very deep garnet-purple color. To smell the nose is like hearing angels trumpeting at the pearly gates! The most incredible and evocative scents come spilling out of the glass, conjuring notions of freshly crushed black raspberries, wild blueberries, red and black currant compote and raspberry leaves with subtler hints of roses, violets, tilled soil, cigar box and fragrant earth. Medium to full-bodied and achingly graceful in the mouth, the perfumed black and red fruits seemingly dance on the palate with a very firm yet beautifully fine-grained texture and just the right amount of freshness, finishing with epic persistence. Hallelujah - this is perfection!! (LPB)" (10/2018)
Starting Bid: $440.00

Bid on this bottle of 2016 Domaine Bart Bonnes Mares Grand Cru ((91-94BH), 94DC). Decanter: "This hails exclusively from the terres blanches part of this grand cru, where the limestone soil is interspersed with marine fossils. It opens in the glass with an incipiently complex nose of cassis, wild berries, roast espresso and orange rind. On the palate the wine is full-bodied, firm and concentrated, amply endowed with fine structure. It's vibrant, tensile and full of energy - give this at least fifteen years to unfurl. (WK)" (10/2017)
Starting Bid: $150.00

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2016 Margaux, Margaux (99JS, 99RP, 99VN, 99WE, 98DC, 97JD, 97WS). Vinous: "The 2016 Château Margaux has an intense bouquet of blackberry, briar, crushed stone and subtle cedar aromas that enrapture the senses; hints of pencil box and sous-bois emerge with time. The harmonious palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins and a fine bead of acidity, and a touch of bitterness lends tension on the finish. Impressive – very impressive. (NM)" (08/2020)

Bid on this 6-bottle Eleven Confessions Vineyard lot in original wood; including 3-bottles of 2016 Sine Qua Non "Pajarito del Amor" Sta. Rita Hills Grenache (100JD, 100RP, 98VN) and 3-bottles of 2016 Sine Qua Non "Subir" Sta. Rita Hills Syrah (100JD, 99RP, 98VN). Of the "Pajarito del Amor" Grenache, Robert Parker's Wine Advocate writes: ". . .the nose of this opaque, garnet-purple colored uber-Grenache completely explodes with a candied violets, mandarin peel and Indian spices perfume, giving way to a core of bursting-ripe red berries—redcurrants, Morello cherries and raspberries—with an undercurrent of earth, earth and more sweet, fragrant earth. The numbers are telling me this is a full-bodied wine, but the palate is deceptively ethereal, possessing more of a medium to full-bodied feel, thanks in part to bags of well-integrated freshness and fantastic harmony, with soft, silt-like tannins, finishing with loads of savory layers and a fragrant, floral breeze. (LPB)" (08/2020)
Starting Bid: $1,995.00

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2016 Léoville-Las Cases, St-Julien (100DC, 100JD, 100JS, 100RP, 98VN, 98WS, 97WE). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Very deep purple-black colored, the 2016 Léoville Las Cases (composed of 75% Cabernet Sauvignon, 14% Merlot and 11% Cabernet Franc) is quite closed to begin, yet with patient coaxing it unfurls beautifully to reveal suggestions of ripe blackcurrants, black raspberries, warm redcurrants and wild blueberries, followed by touches of unsmoked cigars, tilled red soil, cast iron pan, fallen leaves and lavender plus wonderfully fragrant wafts of lilacs and baking spices. Medium to full-bodied, the palate is packed with tightly knit, very subtle layers of minerals, floral notions and black and red berries, all framed by exquisitely ripe, silt-like tannins and fantastic freshness, finishing with epic length and depth. Simply captivating even in its youth, give it at least a decade in the cellar and then enjoy it over the next 50+ years. (LPB)" (11/2018)

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2016 Pride Mountain "Reserve" Sonoma-Napa Counties Claret (96JD, 95RP, 92VN, 92WE, 92WS). Jeb Dunnuck: "There are just over 500 cases of the 2016 Reserve Claret, a more Merlot-dominated blend that includes 31% Cabernet Sauvignon and 1% Petit Verdot. It's similarly hued to the Reserve Cabernet and has a terrific perfume of blackcurrants, black cherries, ground herbs, and black tea as well as a whiff of dark chocolate and new saddle leather. This beauty offers a stunning array of full-bodied richness and depth, building yet ripe tannins, notable purity, and a sense of power without heaviness. It is a fabulously complex Bordeaux blend from Napa/Sonoma that will continue drinking beautifully for another 20 years. " (01/2020)
Starting Bid: $375.00

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2016 Lafite Rothschild, Pauillac (OWC - 100DC, 100JD, 100JS, 99RP, 99WE, 98WS, 97VN) in original wood. James Suckling: "Incredible aromas of crushed berries, sweet tobacco and wet earth. So perfumed and gorgeous. Hot stones and cement, too. Full-bodied, dense and powerful with lots of intense tannins and a never ending finish. Juicy and flavorful. A muscular Lafite, not seen for a long time. Classssssss!" (02/2019)

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2016 Ridge Vineyards "Monte Bello" Santa Cruz Mountains Cabernet Sauvignon (98VN, 97JD, 96RP, 96W&S, 96WS, 95JS). Vinous: "One of the highlights in this tasting, the 2016 Monte Bello has turned out just as beautifully as I hoped it would. Soaring aromatics, bright acids and mid-weight structure give the 2016 a super-classic feel. Clearly, the 2016 is very primary today, with plenty of bright red and purplish berry fruit. More than that, though, the 2016 pulses with energy and simply exceptional balance. Don't miss it! (AG)" (10/2019)

Bid on this 4-bottle tasting lot; including 3-bottles of 2016 Joseph Phelps "Pastorale Vineyard" Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir (96JD, 95JS, 94RP, 94VN) and 1-bottle of 2016 Joseph Phelps "Quarter Moon Vineyard" Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir (96JD, 95RP, 94JS, 94VN, 94WE). Of the 2016 Joseph Phelps "Pastorale Vineyard" Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir, Jeb Dunnuck writes: "Last of the Pinot Noirs, the 2016 Pinot Noir Pastorale Vineyard is from a slightly larger vineyard located north of Freestone (south of Occidental). It’s a mix of two clones (777 and Calera), saw a small amount of stems, and was brought up mostly in neutral barrels. Its medium ruby color is followed by a thrilling perfume of sweet strawberries, dried flowers, red currants, and forest floor, with even a hint of white truffle. Ripe, supple, and more forward and sexy than the Quarter Moon release, this beauty has fine tannins and impeccable balance, and is just a total joy to drink. " (01/2019)

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2016 Andremily California Mourvèdre ((97-99JD), 99RP, 93VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2016 Mourvèdre is composed of 89% Mourvedre, 9% Syrah and 2% Viognier coming from the Alta Mesa Vineyard in Santa Barbara County and Larner Vineyard in Ballard Canyon. Seventy percent whole cluster was employed, and the wine was aged for 21 months in French barriques, 50% new.Deep purple-black colored, it slips out of the glass with gorgeous fragrant earth, truffles and garrigue scents over a blackberry preserves and baked plums core plus nuances of chargrill and underbrush. Full-bodied, rich and seductively generous in the mouth, it has beautifully plush, velvety tannins matched by fantastic freshness, finishing long and savory. Only 210 cases and 'a few' magnums were produced. (LPB) " (06/2019)
Starting Bid: $285.00

Bid on this bottle of 2016 Lokoya Spring Mountain District Cabernet Sauvignon (99JD, 97RP, 96WS, 95VN, 94JS). Jeb Dunnuck: "Also borderline perfection, the 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon Spring Mountain District offers more conifer and pine forest notes as well as vivid blueberry fruits, a full-bodied, intense, layered mouthfeel, thrilling elegance, and a big finish. My note on this one was sprinkled with a few expletives and this wine has everything you could want from Cabernet Sauvignon. As with the other 2016s from Chris, 2-4 years of bottle age are recommended." (01/2019)
Starting Bid: $230.00

Bid on this 5-bottle lot of 2016 Tour St-Christophe, St-Emilion (96JS, 94JD, 94RP, 93VN, 92DC, 91WS). James Suckling: "This has a rich and ripe dark-fruit nose with a wealth of stony attraction and a lighter, floral edge. The palate has a very rich core of deeply ripe, fleshy fruit, framed in cedary oak. Really impressive clarity and web-like tannins. Superb finish. " (01/2019)

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2016 Cornell Sonoma County Cabernet Sauvignon (97JS, 97VN, 93RP). Vinous: "The 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon continues to become more and more refined with time in bottle. Silky, wonderfully perfumed and nuanced, the 2016 is exceptionally beautiful. This is such a striking and vivid wine with tons of mountain character and pedigree to burn. (AG) " (01/2020)
Starting Bid: $285.00

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2016 Lynch-Bages, Pauillac (97JS, 97RP, 97VN, 97WS, 96DC, 95JD, 95WE). Vinous: "The 2016 Lynch Bages has a wonderfully perfumed bouquet of intense black fruit laced with pencil lead, cigar box and incense aromas that soar from the glass, all displaying impressive delineation. The taut, focused palate is very well defined, with a fine line of acidity and great depth and concentration on the sophisticated, mineral-driven finish. Bon vin! (NM)" (08/2020)

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2016 Château des Tours Côtes-du-Rhône. Jeb Dunnuck writes: "The home estate of Emmanuel Reynaud (of Rayas), Chateau des Tours produces beautiful, fresh and elegant efforts that often bear more than a passing resemblance to the more prestigious (and expensive) wines of Rayas."
Starting Bid: $132.00

Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 2016 Clos des Papes Châteauneuf-du-Pape (100JD, 98DC, 97RP, 97VN, 97WS). Jeb Dunnuck: "Another perfect wine from this brilliant estate is the 2016 Châteauneuf-du-Pape, which matches the otherworldly 2007. A classic blend of 60% Grenache, 30% Mourvèdre and 10% Syrah brought up all in old foudre, this beauty's deep purple color is followed by a mammoth bouquet of kirsch liqueur, black currants, blueberries, Asian spices, and garrigue. Full-bodied, concentrated, and powerful, it nevertheless is as graceful as a ballerina on the palate and has ultra-fine tannins, a silky, seamless texture, and a finish that just won't quit. Hats off to vigneron Paul-Vincent Avril! " (08/2018)
Starting Bid: $400.00

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2016 Pontet-Canet, Pauillac (100WE, 99VN, 98DC, 98JD, 98RP, 97JS, 95WS). Wine Enthusiast: "A voluptuous wine, this is rich and fruity yet properly balanced by a magnificent structure. Pure, crisp and packed with a black currant flavor, this will be a remarkable wine as it develops. Still young, it needs many years to develop. *Top 100 Cellar Selections 2019, Editors' Choice* (RV)" (05/2019)

Bid on this 4-bottle tasting lot; including 1-bottle of 2016 Arista "Banfield Vineyard" Russian River Valley Chardonnay (97JD, 94WS, 93RP) and 3-bottles of 2016 Arista Russian River Valley Chardonnay (94JD, 93VN, 93WS, 92RP). Of the 2016 Arista "Banfield Vineyard" Russian River Valley Chardonnay, Jeb Dunnuck writes: "Seeing the same elevage (12 months in one-third new oak followed by six months in tank), the 2016 Chardonnay Banfield Vineyard has a more savory style with notes of baked apple, honeyed minerality, brioche, and some toasty, nutty notes. It's beautifully balanced, has a rich, textured mouthfeel, and a great finish. It's another brilliant wine from this estate." (06/2019)

Bid on this bottle of 2016 Spottswoode "Estate" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (100JD, 100RP, 96VN, 96WE, 96WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Deep garnet-purple in color, the 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon is still very tight and youthful, slowly unfurling to reveal a multifaceted wine with tons of black, blue and red fruit sparks—plums, cherries, black currants and red currants—with dark chocolate, cedar chest, black tea and red roses in the background plus wafts of pencil lead and prosciutto. Medium-bodied and firmly textured by superbly ripe, grainy tannins, it has a fantastic core of intense, complex layers, finishing on an edifying mineral note. Wow! (LPB)" (10/2018)
Starting Bid: $225.00

Bid on this bottle of 2016 Maison Henri Boillot Chambertin-Clos de Bèze Grand Cru (95BH, (93-95VN)). Vinous: "Medicinal dark fruit and licorice aromas are a bit muted today by a strong oak element. Densely packed and wonderfully tactile but also juicy and energetic, conveying a strong impression of thrust to its very intense black cherry and saline soil flavors. Very concentrated, voluminous wine with a powerful impression of terroir; altogether fatter than the Boillot's '16 from the Côte de Beaune. Really spreads out to saturate the palate and linger on the dense, spicy aftertaste. One feels the thick skins in the wine's very natural tannins. (ST)" (01/2018)
Starting Bid: $205.00

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2016 Beaux Frères "Beaux Frères Vineyard" Ribbon Ridge Pinot Noir (95VN, 95WS, 93RP). Sappy, alluringly sweet and sharply delineated on the palate, offering juicy cherry, raspberry preserve and lavender pastille flavors that are sharpened by a zesty Asian spice nuance. Fine-grained and seamless in texture, finishing extremely long and precise, with resonating spiciness and smooth, well-knit tannins. (JR)" (06/2019)
Starting Bid: $216.00

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2016 Produttori del Barbaresco "Ovello" Barbaresco Riserva (97VN, 96RP, 95WS). Vinous: "The 2016 Barbaresco Riserva Ovello is the most severe and angular of these wines. It will appeal most to die-hard classicists. Chalk, white pepper, mint and sweet red cherry fruit all grace this chiseled, beautifully translucent Barbaresco. As always, the Ovello needs a number of years in bottle to reveal its charms, which in 2016 are many. It is a positively stellar wine in every way. (AG) 97+" (10/2020)
Starting Bid: $206.00

Bid on this bottle of 2016 Diamond Creek "Red Rock Terrace" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (98JS, 98RP, 96CG, 95WE, 95WS, 94VN, 93W&S). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Made up of 88% Cabernet Sauvignon, 8% Merlot, 2% Cabernet Franc and 2% Petit Verdot, the 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon Red Rock Terrace is very deep purple-black colored and features profound notions of plum preserves, blackcurrant cordial, Black Forest cake and espresso with suggestions of black tea, fertile loam, cardamom and menthol plus a waft of charcuterie. Medium to full-bodied, the palate packs in the taut, muscular black fruit and savory layers, framed by very ripe, very firm, grainy tannins and seamless freshness, finishing with epic length and depth. (LPB) 98+" (09/2019)

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2016 Joseph Phelps "Insignia" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (99RP, 98JS, 98WE, 97JD, 97VN, 96CG, 96DC, 95WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Deep garnet-purple colored, the nose is a little reticent to begin, needing a fair bit of coaxing to reveal beautifully beguiling notions of wild blueberries, warm blackberries, black currant cordial, cloves and cedar chest with nuances of camphor, yeast extract, charcuterie and candied violets. Medium to full-bodied, the palate has fantastic elegance and depth, revealing loads of subtle floral, black fruit and earthy layers with a firm, very finely grained texture and seamless freshness, finishing with epic length. (LPB)" (10/2019)

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2016 Realm "The Moonracer" Stags Leap District Cabernet Sauvignon (98JS, 98WE, 97VN, 96JD, 96RP, 95DC). Wine Enthusiast: "This is the producer's signature estate wine from Stags Leap District fruit, blending Cabernet Sauvignon with Cabernet Franc, Merlot and Petit Verdot. From volcanic soils, it shows an earthy sensibility that's tough to shake, a lingering thread of black cherry and berry that's met halfway by sweet tobacco, crème brûlée richness and a soft undercurrent of tamed tannins. (VB)" (08/2019)

Bid on this bottle of 2016 Diamond Creek "Gravelly Meadow" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (100RP, 96JS, 96VN, 95CG, 95DC, 95WS, 94WE). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Very deep purple-black colored, it sashays out of the glass with beautifully provocative black cherries, blueberry compote and warm cassis scents followed by candied violets, molten chocolate, licorice and fallen leaves plus hints of black olives and lavender. Medium to full-bodied, the palate reveals explosive energy wrapped in a silken carpet of exquisitely fine-grained tannins, finishing with amazing freshness and perfume. Gorgeous. (LPB)" (09/2019)

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2016 Domaine Yvon Clerget Volnay 1er Cru "Clos du Verseuil" ((92-94VN), (91-93BH), 93RP). Vinous: "Bright red-ruby. Musky, complex soil tones along with black cherry and mocha on the nose. Quite suave and silky on entry, conveying a relaxed quality (production here was 42 hectoliters per hectare) but no shortage of concentration. In fact, this is a wonderfully classy, supple wine with sexy sweetness and rocky energy (the mother rock is close to the surface here). Soil and spice notes add flavor interest. Consistent from start to finish, this quintessential, refined Volnay spreads out on the back end to saturate the mouth, with its tannins fully buffered by fruit. (ST)" (01/2018)
Starting Bid: $198.00

Bid on this bottle of 2016 Diamond Creek "Lake" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon in original wood. Lisa Perrotti-Brown writes: "Diamond Creek was established on Diamond Mountain by Al and Boots Brounstein in 1967. The first vines were planted here in 1968. Today, around 23 acres are planted across the four single vineyards: Gravelly Meadow (~5 acres), Red Rock Terrace (~7 acres), Volcanic Hill (~8 acres) and Lake (~1 acre). Amazingly, some of the original vines—dry grown, no less—are still going strong! Around 2, 000 cases in total are produced each year."
