Bid on this 2-bottle tasting lot; including 1-bottle of 2012 Pine Ridge "Cave 7" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon and 1-bottle of 2013 Pine Ridge "Cave 7" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon. Of the 2012 Pine Ridge "Cave 7" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon, The "Cave 7" Cabernet Sauvignon is a premium selection blend put together in the best of vintages. Robert Parker bestowed heaps of praise and 90+ scores on all of Pine Ridge's 2012 sub-appellation wines.
Starting Bid: $82.00

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2003 Montevetrano "Montevetrano" Colli di Salerno (94RP, 94ST, 91WE, 90JS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2003 Montevetrano is one of the revelations in this tasting. Layers of dark, baritone fruit form the building blocks, followed by suggestions of leather, spices and earthiness that add richness and complexity. Incisive and muscular throughout, the 2003 impresses for its overall sense of balance, something that was very hard to come by in this torrid vintage. Montevetrano is approximately 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot and 10% Aglianico (the international varieties were planted on the existing Aglianico rootstocks) although the exact blend changes from year to year depending on vintage conditions. (AG)" (08/2010)
Starting Bid: $82.00

Bid on this bottle of 2012 Frank Family "Reserve" Rutherford Cabernet Sauvignon (95RP, 93CG, 92WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve ratchets up the complexity, richness, breadth of flavor and overall texture and personality. Dense ruby/purple with notes of blueberries, blackcurrants, spice box and subtle oak, the wine is full-bodied, generously endowed, opulent (characteristics of 2012), pure and beautifully textured. Built like a skyscraper, but not heavy, this is a tour de force and a brilliant Napa Cabernet Sauvignon. (RP)" (10/2014)
Starting Bid: $83.00

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2012 Quivet "Pellet Vineyard" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (93JD, 93RP, 93VN). Vinous: "Violets, lavender, smoke, plums and licorice are all laced together in the 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon Pellet Vineyard. This is an especially lifted, aromatic wine for this part of St. Helena, where vineyards sites are generally quite warm. Even with all of its obvious ripeness and raciness, the Pellet remains precise, nuanced and strikingly beautiful. This is a terrific showing from Quivet and winemaker Mike Smith. (AG)" (12/2014)
Starting Bid: $90.00

Bid on this bottle of 2008 Casa Piena Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (95RP, 94WS, 92WE). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Slightly better (which is no surprise, since it appears to be an impressive work in progress) is the 2008 Casa Piena. Production in this vintage is slightly higher as well. This wine displays similar character, with more unsmoked cigar tobacco intermixed with creme de cassis, camphor, graphite, and some subtle earthiness. Opaque ruby/purple, medium to full-bodied, layered, and opulent, this is a beauty as well, but slightly richer and potentially more complex than the brilliant 2007. This is an impressive newcomer, so take note! A new project, and an impressive one at that, Casa Piena is owned by former lawyer and football executive for the San Francisco 49ers, Carmen Policy. (RP)" (12/2010)
Starting Bid: $90.00

Of the 2003 Joseph Phelps Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon, Wine Enthusiast writes: "Shows the deft Phelps touch in the softly complex texture whose tannins are just as velvety as they come, and the ripe, pure fruit. The blackberry, cassis and red cherry flavors are enriched with vanilla and toast from oak." (07/2006)
Starting Bid: $85.00

Bid on this bottle of 2016 Robert Mondavi "To Kalon Vineyard Reserve" Oakville Cabernet Sauvignon (96JD, 96RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A blend of 91% Cabernet Sauvignon, 7% Cabernet Franc and 2% Petit Verdot, the deep garnet-purple colored 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon To Kalon Reserve opens with beautifully fragrant kirsch, wilted roses, candied violets and dried Provence herbs notes over a core of wild blueberries, red and black currants and mulberries plus wafts of tobacco leaf and cardamom. Medium to full-bodied, it fills the palate with perfumed, crunchy black fruits framed by firm, ripe, grainy tannins and finishes long and earthy. (LPB) 96+" (10/2018)

Bid on this 5-bottle lot of 1996 Arnauld, Haut-Médoc. This is DELICIOUS wine! Richer and more concentrated than their fine 1995. Straightforward flashy, sweet fruit and toasty oak This well-balanced wine would be a perfect choice for California Cabernet lovers that want to try tasty Bordeaux without investing in the big names. Chateau Arnauld (run by the Theil brothers of Chateau Poujeaux) has made dramatic increases in quality within the last decade. Perfect over the next 5-10 years. According to the Wine Spectator: "Medium-bodied, with fine, silky tannins and a mint and berry aftertaste. Well crafted and solid."

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2015 Quivet "Pellet Vineyard" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon ((90-92RP), 92VN, 91JD, 91WS, 90JS). Vinous: "The 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon Pellet Vineyard is another compelling wine from Quivet and Mike Smith. Super-ripe, plush and unctuous, with terrific balance, the 2015 has a lot to recommend it. Blackberry jam, leather and bittersweet chocolate are some of the many notes that resonate in this unctuous, deep Cabernet Sauvignon. (AG)" (12/2016)

Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 2002 Carini Oakville Cabernet Sauvignon. Carini Wine is a two-person operation run by owners Andrew and Shawnee Carini out of Trinity County California. They source grapes from some of California's finest vineyards, practicing winemaking that is low-tech and Old-World in style. The fruit for this wine was sourced from a vineyard located at the corner of the Oakville Crossroad and the Silverado Trail. Tasting note from the producer: "An Inky ruby/purple color with room filling aromatics that include crème de cassis, tobacco leaf, licorice, smoky oak, and cedar. Once you’ve got your mouth on it, the flavors continue and expand into blackberries, red and black currants, with hints of earth, tobacco and mint. Full bodied and dense with balanced acidity and smooth as silk tannins that have melted into the wine as it has aged for the past 10+ years in the bottle, in our cellar."

An intriguing nose of graphite, creme de cassis, spicy oak, licorice, and subtle hints of charcoal and hot pebbles is followed by a big, firmly structured, masculine Cabernet that offers good minerality as well as a certain Graves-like character. Give it 4-5 years of bottle age, and drink it over the following 20+ years. (RP) 92+" (12/2009)

Blue and purplish-hued fruits, spice, lavender and savory herbs open up in a delicious, appealing Cabernet Sauvignon to drink over the next handful of years." (08/2015)

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2003 Kirwan, Margaux (92JS, 92RP, 92WS).
