Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2014 Louis M. Martini Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (97RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The bigger, richer 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon Alexander Valley is 98% Cabernet Sauvignon and 2% Petite Sirah aged 16 months in 50% new French and American casks. This is a bigger wine and close to 2% higher in alcohol at 15.5%. There are 11, 000 cases of this big, full-bodied, boisterous Cabernet Sauvignon that has a dense ruby/purple color, notes of underbrush, forest floor, tobacco leaf and oodles of blackcurrants and black cherries, with a touch of woodsmoke. The full-bodied wine hits the palate with a cascade of glycerin, fruit and purity. This is a beauty-dense, rich, and structured, but capable of lasting 20 or more years. It is hard to believe that the iconic Louis M. Martini Winery first made Napa Cabernet Sauvignon in 1933. (RP)" (10/2016)
Starting Bid: $165.00

Bid on this bottle of 1991 Philip Togni Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (96RP, 90VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "It is one of the most unique wines I have ever tasted from Togni. The warm year yielded an abundant crop. At the time, Togni also made a white wine. Because of the size of the crop, the harvest took longer than normal, which meant the red grapes spent a little longer on the vine than they would have otherwise. The 1991 presents an intriguing combination of raciness from the super-ripe fruit, but within the classic Togni framework. Sweet tobacco, camphor, savory herbs, licorice and worn-in leather are some of the nuances that add complexity to the fruit. Layers of liqueur-like sweetness frame the beguiling finish. The 1991 is currently peaking, and it won’t last forever, but readers lucky enough to taste this wine are in for a real treat. I have been fortunate to taste the 1991 twice over the last few months, and it has been hypnotic both times. (AG)" (12/2011)
Starting Bid: $220.00

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2013 Myriad "Three Twins Vineyard" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (94RP, 93JS, 92VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Three Twins Vineyard emerges from a site that winemaker Mike Smith has found in Conn Valley. The wine shows a more earthy side to his brilliant winemaking skills, showing blueberry and blackberry fruit, but there is more of an underlying minerality and loamy soil, earthiness. It is full-bodied, rich, pure, and multilayered aa well as textured. It should drink well for at least 20-25 years. (RP)" (12/2015)
Starting Bid: $160.00

Bid on this 3-half-bottle lot of 2010 Ridge Vineyards Monte Bello Santa Cruz Mountains Cabernet Sauvignon (375ml) (98WS, 97JS, 97VN, 96RP, 96W&S, 95DC, 95ST). Wine Spectator: A highlight of the tasting, with rocking energy, dense black currant and black berry fruit and loads of singed wood thoroughly embedded throughout. Juicy bramble, alder and bay leaf notes chime in, with a mouthwatering mineral spine buried deep on the finish.—Non-blind Ridge Monte Bello vertical (June 2019). (JM, Web-2019)

Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2013 Chateau Montelena "Estate" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (96RP, 95DC, 95VN, 94WE). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate opens with profound black and red currant cordial notes over an undercurrent of Indian spices, chargrill, scorched earth and bay leaves. Medium-bodied with wonderful intensity and depth in the mouth, it has a firm frame of grainy tannins and compelling freshness, finishing long and layered. (LPB)" (03/2018)
Starting Bid: $540.00

Bid on this 3-half-bottle lot of 2013 Ridge Vineyards Monte Bello Santa Cruz Mountains Cabernet Sauvignon (375ml) (98VN, 95W&S). Vinous: The 2013 Monte Bello is utterly spellbinding in its beauty. Finely sculpted and chiseled, with super-expressive aromatics and searing tannins, the 2013 is shaping up to be a modern-day classic. The 2013 is remarkably pure and vibrant for such a big wine. It will be years before the 2013 is close to being ready to drink. Even so, it is magnificent today. Where will the 2013 end up? The future seems limitless for now. Quite simply, the 2013 is a must-have wine. In 2013, Monte Bello is very heavy in Cabernet Sauvignon, partly because Merlot suffered in the drought-like conditions. The 2013 has already begun to shut down in bottle. Readers need to be in for the long haul. (AG) (07/2016)

Bid on this bottle of 2002 Harlan Estate Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (100RP, 99WE, 98ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The extraordinary Harlan Estate, which I awarded 100 points seven years ago, offers no justifiable reason to doubt its perfect score. It is still a baby, with an inky purple color and notes of smoky camphor intermixed with creme de cassis, Asian soy and a hint of cedar beginning to emerge as well as some espresso and subtle damp forest floor notes. The wine has awesome intensity, a full-bodied mouthfeel, a skyscraper-like texture, and a finish that goes on for close to a minute. This is a perfect wine, still youthful and young, and not even in full adolescence as of 2012. It has 40 or more years ahead of it, but should hit its plateau of full maturity in another 5-10 years. It is certainly one of the most showy, flamboyant and remarkable Harlan Estates made to date. Kudos to Bill Harlan! (RP)" (06/2012)

Bid on this bottle of 2009 Lokoya Cabernet Sauvignon Mt. Veeder.
Starting Bid: $255.00

Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2011 Hafner Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon. Hafner Vineyard is a small family-owned winery that has been producing estate-bottled wines for more than 50 years. If they have managed to fly under your radar, it is because they sell all of their wine direct to client and to select restaurants. The wines are rarely seen in wine shops.
Starting Bid: $150.00

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2018 Myriad "Beckstoffer Dr. Crane Vineyard" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (99JD, 97RP, 94WS, 93VN). Jeb Dunnuck: "This iconic site located outside of St. Helena always produces a rich, powerful wine, and the 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer Dr. Crane Vineyard is no exception, offering loads of black and blue fruits, gravelly earth, chocolate, and Asian spice notes as well as a full-bodied, opulent, sexy profile on the palate. With a beautiful sense of freshness, ripe, polished tannins, and a great finish, this gorgeous effort needs 2-3 years of bottle age and will cruise for 30 years or more." (08/2020)
Starting Bid: $260.00

Bid on this magnum of 1997 Joseph Phelps "Insignia" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (1.5L) (100RP, 97WS, 95WE, 94ST, 93W&S). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "An inky/plum/purple color is accompanied by a stunning bouquet of violets, charcoal, creme de cassis and a hint of toast. Prodigious when it hits the palate with a full-bodied expansiveness, there is not a hard edge to be found in the 1997, only velvety tannins, compelling depth and fruit intensity, and stunning purity. It is a perfect expression of Napa viticulture and wine that should continue to age effortlessly for two decades or more. (RP)" (11/2013)
Starting Bid: $600.00

Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 1988 Robert Mondavi "Reserve" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Dark ruby, with a light intensity nose of cassis and cigar box aromas, this wine exhibits good concentration, softness, adequate ripeness, and a short finish. (RP)" (04/1994)
Starting Bid: $360.00

Bid on this bottle of 2005 Pahlmeyer Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (95CG, 95RP, 94ST, 94WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "As for the 2005 Proprietary Red, it is a blend of 84% Cabernet Sauvignon, 11% Merlot, 3% Cabernet Franc and 1% each Petit Verdot and Malbec. While this might not be the blockbuster one would expect, there is outstanding depth, purity and overall texture and ripeness. Again, terrific acidity gives the wine vigor and precision, despite a lofty 15.2% alcohol. The wine is fresh and pure, with black raspberry and blackcurrant fruit, some white floral notes, and the telltale forest floor. Pahlmeyer’s wines age well, as I am still working off the 1995 and 1996 Proprietary Reds, which remain in great shape. (RP)" (06/2015)
Starting Bid: $110.00

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2017 Realm "Beckstoffer Dr. Crane Vineyard" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (98JD, 98JS, 98RP, 94VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Made from 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, the 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer Dr Crane Vineyard does not disappoint. Deep garnet-purple colored, it flies out of the glass with gregarious scents of black cherries, blueberries and boysenberries plus hints of potpourri, sandalwood, Chinese five spice, cast-iron pan and fragrant earth. Characteristically full-bodied, rich and full-on seductive, the palate is packed with generous, perfumed black fruits, supported by firm, ripe tannins and well-knit freshness, finishing mineral-laced and with epic persistence. (LPB)" (10/2020)
Starting Bid: $540.00

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 1985 Ridge Santa Cruz Mountains Cabernet Sauvignon. Ridge Vineyards wines are a staff favorite, possibly because many of our Redwood City staff used to work at Ridge, but mostly because these are stellar wines that age superbly, compare well with much higher-priced Bordeaux and Napa wines, and come from a winery with a stellar reputation. This bottle won't be here long. From the winery's archives: "Ridge is located in the Santa Cruz Mountains Viticultural Area overlooking San Francisco Bay. Along these foothills, in the mid-19th century, French settlers planted the first Cabernet vines in California. The climate and soils have proved ideal for the varietal. In the fine 1985 vintage, the oak contributes to the spicy fruit typical of this cool appellation. The tannins in this excellent wine are firm but balanced, and will soften considerably in the first year or two after release."
Starting Bid: $260.00

Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 2004 Livingston Moffett "Gemstone Vineyard" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend. Situated in the Yountville AVA on the Rector Creek alluvial fan, the Gemstone vineyard contains a diverse selection of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, and Petite Verdot grapes with numerous clonal selections within these varietals. Each of these grapes are vinified and kept separate for evaluation prior to blending. The wine has primary aromas of blackberry and raspberry with a hint of vanilla, nutmeg and violets. On the palate, there is an effusive fruitiness underlain by raspberry liqueur and cassis.
Starting Bid: $100.00

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2006 Anderson's Conn Valley "Estate Reserve" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (94RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The unfined, unfiltered 2006 Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve spends two years in French oak and another year in the bottle before being released. This cuvee has a long track record of aging (the 1990 and 1991 are still going strong). The dense ruby/purple-tinged 2006 offers notes of new saddle leather, black currants, autumnal vegetation/forest floor, cassis, and cherries, superb richness, and a full-bodied, powerful finish. (RP)" (12/2009)
Starting Bid: $100.00

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2009 Merus Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (93ST, 93WS, 92RP). Wine Spectator: "Intense and concentrated, with a rich array of dark berry built around currant, blackberry, mineral, cedar and spice. Most impressive on the finish, where the flavors push through in style. Best from 2014 through 2028." (10/2012)
Starting Bid: $145.00

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2013 Peter Michael "Les Pavots" Knights Valley Bordeaux Blend (98JS, 98RP, 93DC, 93WS, 92VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Les Pavots, which is their proprietary red wine blend from Knights Valley, is a killer effort, and one of their all-time greats, ranking right up there with the 2007 or 1997. A blend of 69% Cabernet Sauvignon, 21% Cabernet Franc and the rest Merlot and Petit Verdot, there are 3, 600 cases of it. The wine displays plenty of mocha, chocolate, blackberry, creosote and charcoal in an incredibly complex fragrance. Full-bodied and opulent, it shows, loads of tannin, a hint of unsmoked cigar tobacco and plenty of black and blue fruits. Opaque purple to the rim, this wine is in need of a good 5-6 years of cellaring and certainly has 30-40 years of life in it. (RP) 98+" (12/2015)
Starting Bid: $270.00

Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 2008 Scarecrow "M. Etain" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon in original wood. The inaugural vintage of Scarecrow's "second label" wine, M. Étain comes from a selection of fruit hand-picked from the J.J. Cohn Estate in Rutherford. The wine is cleverly named after the Tin Man from Wizard of Oz, "Étain" being French for "Tin." Pretty cherry, raspberry, and plum fruit notes on the nose and palate are deftly interwoven with cookie spices, cigar box, coffee, licorice, chocolate, and vanilla bean. Silky tannins make this approachable now.
Starting Bid: $600.00

Bid on this bottle of 2013 Quilceda Creek Columbia Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (100RP, 96VN, 94WE, 94WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon is lighter in color and has a subdued nose at first. After getting the glass spinning, the wine reveals its secrets with sweet oak tones, dark red fruit and wilted red flowers. The Cabernet is juicy with layers of redcurrants and cassis as it shows defined notions of black plum and dark cherry skin in the glass. Full-bodied, the wine bursts with kaleidoscopic sensations, boasting power and precision that shares many of the same key elements of cult Napa Cabernet bottlings and worthy of the coveted triple digits. (AM)" (04/2021)
Starting Bid: $140.00

Bid on this bottle of 2007 Shafer "Hillside Select" Stags Leap District Cabernet Sauvignon (100RP, 97JS, 97WE, 95VN, 94DC, 92W&S). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Deep purple-black colored, the 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon Hillside Select exudes beautiful notions of violets, dark chocolate, black olives, spice cake and cedar chest with a core of crème de cassis, blackberry pie, plum preserves and fragrant earth plus a waft of unsmoked cigars. Full-bodied, super concentrated and jam-packed with multilayered black and blue fruits, it has a rock-solid frame of grainy tannins and fantastic freshness, finishing long with tons of exotic spice and savory sparks. (LPB)" (08/2018)

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 1982 Beaulieu Vineyard Rutherford Cabernet Sauvignon. In 1900, when Georges de Latour decided to buy a small, four-acre property in the town of Rutherford as a surprise for his wife he, perhaps unwittingly, purchased a piece of Napa Valley history. The land would become the foundation for Beaulieu Vineyard, which survived Prohibition by having one of a handful of contracts to supply churches with sacramental wine. After Prohibition the winery continued to thrive, experimenting with varietals, blends and aging and under the direction of André Tchelistcheff, the winery would fast become one of California's preeminent producers.
Starting Bid: $130.00

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 1982 Beaulieu Vineyard "Georges de Latour Private Reserve" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (92JG, 90RP, 90VN). John Gilman: "The bouquet is deep, complex and classically Georges de Latour in its beautiful blend of red and black cherries, chocolate, a touch of coconutty oak, gentle cigar smoke and Rutherford dust in the upper register. On the palate the wine is full-bodied, deep and quite suave on the attack, with a fine core of fruit, gentle tannins, excellent focus and lovely length and grip on the pure, plush and refined finish. This is probably the last great classic vintage of the Georges de Latour bottling, and at least in magnum, it is drinking very well indeed and has plenty of life still ahead of it." (03/2009)
Starting Bid: $270.00

Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 1989 Robert Mondavi "Reserve" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon. Vinous: "Healthy dark red. Cassis, plum, leather and cedar on the nose; reminded me a bit of a fully mature vintage of Mouton-Rothschild. (ST)" (05/2016)
Starting Bid: $360.00

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 1991 Caymus Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (90WS). Wine Spectator: "Dark color. Sturdy, rich and concentrated, with complex currant, black cherry, tar, and plum flavors. Lacks the finesse and extra dimensions of the Special Selection, but still a very impressive, concentrated wine. (JL, Web-2002)"
Starting Bid: $290.00

Bid on this magnum of 1999 Shafer "Hillside Select" Stags Leap District Cabernet Sauvignon (1.5L) (95VN, 94CG, 94WS, 93RP). Vinous: "Bright, saturated ruby. Very ripe aromas of black cherry, licorice, molten chocolate, mint and minerals; some very ripe suggestions. Generous, plush and powerful if still youthful and brooding. The flavors of dark berries and spices show a chocolatey ripeness as well as a savory tobacco quality. Conveys a strong impression of depth and a tactile impression of extract. This thick, savory wine finishes with strong but suave tannins and terrific breadth and length, filling the mouth without turning ponderous. Very impressive! (ST)" (05/2019)
Starting Bid: $335.00

Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 2005 Pride Mountain Napa-Sonoma Counties Cabernet Sauvignon (92RP, 92WE, 90VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The deep ruby/purple-colored 2005 Cabernet Sauvignon (58% from Napa and 42% from Sonoma) possesses a full-bodied mouthfeel as well as loads of cassis fruit, and smoky, subtle oak in the background. Round, plump, and hedonistic, it should drink well for a decade. (RP)" (12/2007)

Of the 2007 Quilceda Creek "Galitzine Vineyard" Red Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon, Robert Parker's Wine Advocate writes: "The 2007 Galitzine Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon contains 1% Petit Verdot. It offers up a splendid bouquet of toasty new oak, earth notes, espresso, incense, blackberry, and plum. A bit more structured than the Palengat cuvee, it is slightly denser, layered, and intense. Of the 2004 Nicholas Cole "Camille" Columbia Valley Bordeaux Blend, Robert Parker's Wine Advocate writes: "The 2004 Camille is a blend of 64% Merlot, 23% Cabernet Franc, and 13% Cabernet Sauvignon. The nose offers up toasty oak, some pleasant herbaceousness from the Cabernet Franc, as well as red and black currants and a hint of leather. On the palate there is excellent depth and concentration, broad spicy flavors, and a long, pure finish. The ripe tannins are nicely integrated and should allow for 5-7 years of further development. (JM)" (08/2007)

Jeb Dunnuck: "There are three releases from the Las Piedras Vineyard, an incredible site located just outside of St. Helena, a stone’s throw from the Dr. Crane Vineyard. Starting with the Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer Las Piedras Vineyard La Verdad, this awesome wine reveals a dense purple/plum hue to go with a monster-sized bouquet of blackcurrants, camphor, chocolate, crushed stone-like minerality, and loads of Asian spice. Complex, powerful, and nuanced on the nose, it doesn’t lose a beat on the palate. 98+" (06/2020)

It saunters confidently out of the glass with compelling notes of warm black plums, blackcurrant cordial, Morello cherries and black raspberries followed by an opulent perfume of exotic spices, dusty soil, rose oil and crushed rocks with a waft of sandalwood. Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2013 Dominus Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (100DC, 100JS, 100RP, 100VN). Vinous: "The 2013 Dominus overwhelms all the senses with its magnificent overall balance and towering intensity. Deep and nearly impenetrable in the glass, the 2013 boasts off the charts dry extract and overall power. Violets, smoke, black cherries, menthol, incense, crème de cassis and dark spices are some of the many signatures that take shape in the glass. Even better in bottle than it was in barrel, the 2013 is utterly magnificent. This is a remarkably vivid, nuanced wine considering its sheer size. (AG)" (10/2015)

Starting Bid: $188.00

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2010 Philip Togni "Estate" Spring Mountain District Cabernet Sauvignon (95RP, 95VN, 94ST, 93JG). Vinous: "Musky but precise scents of dark mountain berries, wild herbs, violet and spices; a distinctly wild style of Cabernet. Uncompromisingly dry yet surprisingly supple on entry, then intense, sharply delineated and alive in the middle palate, showing a repeating pungent wild herb quality to its intense dark berry flavors. Not at all a sweet style but subtle and extremely long, with the tannins remarkably suave for mountain fruit. There's a peppery, savory energy here that I love but also plenty of body and palate presence. Finishes with terrific lift and emerging notes of leather and pine needles. A bit sauvage and idiosyncratic, this Cabernet is the full Togni. Boasts outstanding potential longevity. (ST)" (05/2020)

Bid on this bottle of 1974 Heitz Cellar "Martha's Vineyard" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (98RP, 97JG, 92JD). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "I had this wine twice over a period of thirty days, rating it an astounding 99 and 98 points. A monumental California Cabernet Sauvignon, it appears to have approached its plateau of maturity but should easily last for 20-25 more years. There is no rust, amber, or brown to the saturated dark purple color. The spectacular, huge, Mouton-Rothschild-like nose of mint, cassis, lead pencil, and toast is remarkably youthful. Staggeringly concentrated, this full-bodied, super-rich wine possesses moderate tannin, fresh, lively acidity, and a blockbuster, rich, fleshy finish. This is a monumental effort! (RP)" (08/1994)

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 1991 Chateau Montelena "Estate" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (96ST, 95RP, 95VN, 91WS). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "The darkest of these wines so far: deep red-ruby. Some sexy high tones lift the complex aromas of black fruits, dried cherry, potpourri spices and earth. Initially a bit clenched but quickly revealed a silky texture, with perfectly integrated acidity enlivening the mid-palate flavors of red and darker berries, tobacco and spices accented by a minty nuance. This supple yet somehow youthful wine is perhaps most impressive on its inexorable, slowly building aftertaste, where the tannins are in perfect harmony with the fruit. A splendid Napa Valley Cabernet from a long growing season featuring a late harvest. (ST)" (05/2019)

Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 1976 Freemark Abbey Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (91JG). John Gilman: "The 1976 Freemark Abbey cabernet sauvignon is a lovely example of the vintage, with the 'dried fruit character' of this drought year, but with a sweet, extant core and lovely focus and balance still defining the wine as it closes in on its fortieth birthday. The excellent nose jumps from the glass in a blend of desiccated cherries, Rutherford dust, petroleum jelly, dried spice tones and gentle notes of woodsmoke in the upper register. On the palate the wine is pure, full-bodied and velvety, with excellent complexity, a fine core, still just a touch of tannin on the backend and a long, tangy and beautifully balanced finish. Really a lovely bottle of wine at its apogee, but still with plenty of life in it. Drink between 2015-2025." (08/2015)
