Pablo Härri arrived in Italy from Switzerland in the early '80s and met his partner and wife Claudia Ferrero while both were working at a large winery in Montalcino. The two started a family and in 2002 built their own winery in a restored barn and stable. Their winery has a prestigious location on the southwestern slope in Montalcino, between Banfi’s Poggio alle Mura vineyard and Argiano. Pablo passed away in October of 2017, leaving his wife Claudia and their three daughters, two of whom have followed in his footsteps as winemakers. Today the winery pr...

93 points James Suckling: "This is one of the most beautiful Insoglios I have tasted with lots of blue fruit, such as blueberries, as well as violets. Medium body and firm, silky tannins. Very fine and linear. Syrah, cabernet franc, cabernet sauvignon, merlot, and petit verdot." (11/2019) 91 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2018 Insoglio del Cinghiale is beautifully open and prominent with spicy notes of clove and spice that introduce lasting notes of black fruit, plum and smoke. (ML)" (05/2019) 90 points Vinous: "The 2018 Insoglio del Cing...

2019 Tenuta Sette Ponti "Oreno" Toscana (Pre-Arrival) (Pre-Arrival)
Top Pick!
99 points James Suckling: "Wow. Fantastic aromas of blackberries, currants, minerals, violets and graphite. Full-bodied with firm, silky tannins that are incredibly polished and intense, yet ever so refined and integrated in the wine. It goes on for minutes. The is one of the best modern-day Orenos so far." (07/2021)

2016 Grattamacco Bolgheri Superiore
Top Pick!
97 points Decanter: "Grattamacco is one of the highest estates in Bolgheri, located just beneath the village of Castagneto Carducci. It has a distinctive contribution of 15% Sangiovese to the blend, along with the Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. This indigenous grape gives the wine a particular freshness and drinkability, rejuvenating the tension of the classic Bordeaux varieties. In 2016, Grattamacco has exceeded itself, with aromas of elegant, youthful red currant fruits integrated with citrus notes and cedar wood. On the palate the wine is perfectly ba...

96 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "This wine delivers an exceptional quality of fruit. The 2016 Bolgheri Superiore l'Alberello is vinous and raw with an unmistakably authentic quality that gives this wine character and a specific territorial identity. You taste the flavors of the Tuscan Coast with that "macchia mediterrana," or Mediterranean brush, with ripe cherry, plum, black olive and sweet cinnamon spice. At this young stage, the wine's oak imprint is evident, but we can look forward to this relaxing and tapering down with more bottle age. (ML...

96 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Of the wines in this flight, the 2001 Bolgheri Guado al Tasso gave the most immediate pleasure. This wine is seductive, supple and soft thanks to its dark cherry, ripe fruit, exotic spice, cassis, grilled herb, crushed mineral and sweet chewing tobacco. The blend is mostly Cabernet Sauvignon (with smaller parts Merlot and Syrah). It shows integrity, conservation and purity. In fact, this edition of Guado al Tasso tastes a bit younger than it really is. There's nothing to not like here. The quality of fruit is for...

95 points Vinous: "The 2016 Geremia is a total knock-out. An exotic mélange of sweet dark cherry, plum, chocolate, licorice, spice and menthol races out of the glass. The 2016 is deep, dense and full of character. It is also easy to drink with minimal cellaring. Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon work so well here in the way they express richness and structure, all with a real sense of Tuscan raw power. (AG) " (09/2020) K&L Notes: "Geremia" is a Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon blend from Marco Ricasoli-Firidolfi, an organic grower in the Chianti Classico regi...

2016 Tua Rita "Giusto di Notri" Toscana
Back In Stock!
97 points James Suckling: "This has a wonderful texture of beautiful, ultra-fine tannins, complex character of dark fruit, currants, hazelnuts and light chocolate. Goes on for minutes. Give it three or four years of bottle age but already so delicious. (ML)" (09/2018) 97 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2016 Giusto di Notri is a profound and dark blend of Cabernet Sauvignon with smaller parts Cabernet Franc and Merlot. It exudes gravitas and importance with every sip, showing consecutive, deep layers of minerality, dark stone, spice and rich ...

97 points James Suckling: "So aromatic and complex with blackcurrants, blueberries, fresh violets and lavender on the nose. Some graphite and iodine, too. Medium to full body with firm, chewy tannins that are polished and refined, yet the palate is so long and refined. This is an Ornellaia with strength in elegance. " (03/2021) 97 points Vinous: "The 2018 Ornellaia is an introvert at this stage. Medium in body, with terrific persistence and impeccable balance, the 2018 is not in any mood to show all its cards today. Hints of red berry fruit, mocha, spi...

2016 Castello dei Rampolla "Vigna d'Alceo" Toscana (Pre-Arrival) (Pre-Arrival)
Top Pick!
97 points James Suckling: "Lots of richness here, but there’s always balance and focus with blackberry and chocolate character and hazelnut undertones. Bark, too. It’s full-bodied, but tight and focused at the end. Always a great wine. From organically grown grapes." (07/2020) 97 points Vinous: "The 2016 D'Alceo combines unctuous intensity with pure, raw power. It won't be ready to drink until age ten, at least, but there is plenty to look forward to. With a few hours of air, the fruit and breadth both start to emerge. Inky blueberry, lavender, cloves,...

95 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Deep full ruby. Plum, blueberry, black pepper and sweet spices on the nose, complemented by hints of milk chocolate and cedar. Very pure, rich and dense on entry, with seamless flavors of spicy black fruits, bay leaf and vanilla. Finishes impressively long and suave, with a note of chocolate mint. (ID)" (07/2010) Jancis Robinson: "35% Cabernet Franc, 35% Merlot, 25% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% Petit Verdot. Deep ruby. More compelling, elegant and knit together than Le Cupole. Very, very young. Perfecly ...

Wine Spectator: "Superrich nose of plums, berries and toasted oak, with hints of freshly tanned leather. Medium-bodied, with hints of fresh herbs, berries and toasted oak. (Web Only—2003)"
Price: $39.99

97 points James Suckling: "A fantastic nose to this with currant, sage, rosemary and rose-petal character. Sweet tobacco and spicy chocolate, too. Very complex. The palate shows lovely depth of fruit with blackberries, blackcurrants and fine tannins. It’s racy and refined with a direct, focused palate. Just a baby." (07/2020) 96 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The Fattoria le Pupille 2018 Saffredi borrows quite a bit from all of the grapes that make up the blend (Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Petit Verdot). These balanced results open to a roun...

2017 Fattoria Le Pupille "Saffredi" Maremma Toscana
Back In Stock!
97 points James Suckling: "Gorgeous blackberries, dark chocolate, spice and lightly roasted coffee. Full body. Layered and creamy. Lovely, silky tannins that melt into the wine. A beautiful red from the vintage with class and finesse to the depth of fruit. " (07/2019) 97 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Wow, there is a very impressive freshness here that defies the heat of this vintage. The 2017 Saffredi does not seem like a 2017 at all. Now celebrating its 30th birthday, Saffredi is 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot and 10% Petit Verdot. Thank...

96 points James Suckling: "There is something so subtle and rich here with chocolate, red chilies and ripe plums on the nose. Full body, with velvety tannins and a juicy finish. This is so delicious now but better in 2017. Best ever from here." (11/2014) 96 points Vinous: "Antonio Moretti's Orma seems to keep getting better with each passing vintage, and the 2010 is no exception to that recent trend. Beautifully delineated and alive in the glass, the 2010 impresses for its fabulous overall balance and class. Mocha, graphite, smoke, plums and grilled he...

93 points James Suckling: "There’s purity of fruit here with crushed plums, flowers, fresh sage and rosemary on both the nose and palate. It’s full-bodied, yet soft and pretty at the finish." (05/2020)
Price: $21.99

94 points James Suckling: "Fantastic aromas of dried flowers, tiles, terracotta, plum and cherry follow through to a full body, dense and velvety tannins and a persistent finish that caresses your palate. Energy and balance. Beautiful now to drink but much better in 2020 when the wine comes together." (08/2017) 93 points Wine Enthusiast: "Redcurrant, blue flower, cedar and a hint of pine forest are just some of the aromas you'll find on this fragrant red. A blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, the bright, savory palate doles out juicy raspberry, red...

97 points James Suckling: "A big, very rich red with powerful fruit and tannins, yet always polished and beautiful. Intense vanilla to the underlying ripe currants and blackberries. Full-bodied, very tight and polished." (05/2020) 97 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "From a warm and sunny vintage that produced darkly concentrated fruit, the Tenuta Guado al Tasso 2017 Bolgheri Superiore Guado al Tasso is a teaser and a super pleaser. This is one flashy wine. This carefully calculated blend of 65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Cabernet Franc and 15% Merlo...

95 points Wine Enthusiast: "This enticing red offers alluring aromas of fragrant purple flowers, dark-skinned berries and crushed mint. The elegantly structured palate doles out succulent blackberry, orange zest, licorice and saline notes set against taut, refined tannins. It's nicely balanced by fresh acidity. *Editors' Choice* (KO)" (07/2021)

2019 Tenuta Orma Toscana (Pre-Arrival) (Pre-Arrival)
97 points James Suckling: "This is a tight and powerful Orma with solid tannins that beautifully frame the fruit in the wine. Full-bodied and focused with intense structure and fruit character. Perhaps the best Orma ever. Give this four or five years to open. Try after 2025." (07/2021)

Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 2005 Tenuta San Guido "Sassicaia" Bolgheri (94DC, 94WS, 93RP, 93VN, 92W&S, 90ST). Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2010 Castello dei Rampolla "Vigna d'Alceo" Toscana (100VN, 97ST). Vinous: "Rampolla's 2010 d'Alceo is utterly spellbinding today. Even better than it was last year, the 2010 impresses for its exceptional balance and pure finesse. Everything is simply in the right place. Silky, layered and unbelievably expressive, the 2010 d'Alceo is a thrill from the very first taste. Over the decades the Di Napoli family has made so many breathtaking wines, but the 2010 d'Alceo is something more than breathtaking, and that something more is hard to express with words. Readers lucky enough to taste the 2010, however, will know it right away. What a magnificent wine this is. (AG)" (09/2014)
Starting Bid: $400.00

Bid on this bottle of 1998 Tenuta di Trinoro Toscana Rosso (98DC, 95VN, 94WS, 93RP). Decanter: "During the '90s when a lot of producers went too far with extractions, Andrea Franchetti remained faithful to his style. Today, when a lot of producers are moving back to less extractive wines, the owner of Tenuta di Trinoro is again an outlier. This finely educated viticulturist reads his vineyards in Orcia valley in depth to achieve maximum concentration. His wine is never upbeat nor too easy to drink soon. Examples such as 1998, a warm vintage in Tuscany, do much to explain their potential. A fruit-forward profile of cassis, cherry and strawberry ice cream is supported by graphite minerality, a leafy touch and wild Mediterranean herbs with tea leaf and lavender on top. Powerful and large on the palate, showing great extraction of tannins with outstanding grace promising great things in the long haul. (AF)" (09/2020)
Starting Bid: $75.00

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2012 San Guido "Sassicaia" Bolgheri (99WE, 95JS, 94VN, 94W&S, 93WS). Wine Enthusiast: "One of Italy’s most iconic bottlings, the 2012 Sassicaia is drop-dead gorgeous. A blend of 85% Cabernet Sauvignon and 15% Cabernet Franc, it boasts sensations of blue flowers, cedar, juicy red currants, ripe raspberries, white pepper and a balsamic note. Structured, radiant and loaded with finesse, it delivers everything you’d expect from a world-class wine and more. *Top Ten Cellar Selections of 2018* (KO)" (08/2015)
Starting Bid: $421.00

Bid on this 5-bottle lot of 1997 Nozzole "Il Pareto" Toscana. Wine Spectator: "Slightly overdone for Pareto, but interesting. Aromas of dried tobacco, cherry and herbs. Full-bodied, with big and chewy tannins. Long, mouthpuckering, slightly dry finish. (JS)" (07/2000)
Starting Bid: $200.00

Bid on this bottle of 1982 Tenuta San Guido "Sassicaia" Bolgheri (96DC, 95JS, 92RP, 90WS). Decanter: "As has been the case with so many of these wines, the thing that is striking is the lightness and grace, this once again proves that you have to forget being in Tuscany and think about the specific location of Bolgheri. The colour intensity and depth of this 1982 is amazing, the freshness and the hold are both laudable. It still retains a juicy quality to the blackberry fruit at this age, and the tannic creep balanced by the acidity is impressive, my mouth is actually watering. What an achievement.(JA)" (10/2016)
Starting Bid: $350.00

Bid on this bottle of 2006 Castello dei Rampolla "Vigna d'Alceo" Toscana (98WS, 97VN, 96RP, 96WE, 95JS). (JS) " (10/2010)
Starting Bid: $80.00

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2014 San Guido "Sassicaia" Bolgheri (95WE, 94W&S, 93DC, 93RP, 92JS, 92WS, 90VN). Wine Enthusiast: "Aromas of red berry, blue flower, menthol, exotic spice and a whiff of French oak take shape on this impeccably balanced radiant red. The palate is vibrant and focused—almost ethereal—delivering raspberry compote, Marasca cherry, star anise and cinnamon framed in elegant tannins. Weightless and loaded with finesse, it's an incredible result for what was a cool wet vintage in most of Italy. (KO)" (12/2017)

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2001 Tenuta dell'Ornellaia "Ornellaia" Superiore Bolgheri (96RP, 96VN, 95W&S, 95WS, 94ST). (AG)" (12/2009)
