Domaine Jacourette lies in the shadow of the Montagne-Ste-Victoire just east of Aix-en-Provence. Vigneron Helene Dragon took over winemaking duties more than two decades ago, and masterfully crafts one of our freshest and most sought after rosés year-after-year. The vines are planted at 300 meters of elevation atop decomposing limestone and clay - the most desirable soils in the region. Made primarily of Syrah and Grenache, a splash of Rolle (Vermentino) and Cinsault round out the profile. We once carried this as a private label under the name Vignoble D...

92 points James Suckling: "A delicious, precise and well-driven rosé made of cinsault, grenache, syrah and mourvedre. It shows notes of apricots, small berries and mild spices. Medium-bodied with bright acidity and character. Pure and vivid with a delicious, minerally finish. From organically grown grapes. (JS)" (06/2024) 91 points Jeb Dunnuck: "A beautiful effort from this estate, the 2023 Rosé is based largely on Cinsault but has 20% each of Syrah and Grenache, with 10% Mourvèdre. It's one of the richer, more rounded, textured rosés I've tasted from ...

Just across the Rhône river from the esteemed vineyards of Châteauneuf-du-Pape, this 88-acre estate is owned and operated by Rodolphe de Pins, a UC Davis graduate and former member of the winemaking staff at Domaine du Vieux Télégraphe. Montfaucon crafts their Côtes du Rhône to express the intense fruit characteristics of the appellation, blending to achieve harmony and balance. The Lirac Rose is an hommage to its neighbor Tavel, showing the same verve and richness that accompanies that hallowed rose producing region.

Coralie Onde is from the winemaking family behind Domaine les Ondines, but opted to start her own project independent of her family estate in 2008. She formed Domaine de la Ganse in Vacqueyras when she purchased some terrific old vine fruit, also taking a small holding when the family estate was split. With close to nine hectares now, Coralie began the organic certification process and was officially certified in 2014. Her vines are aged from fifteen to fifty-five years and the soils are primarily chalky-clay with some galet (river stones). The Rose is...

The winegrowing estate of Chateau les Valentines is more than a century old. The estate originally brought their grapes to the local cooperative, but when Gilles and Pascale Pons took over in 1997, they decided to make their own wine. They built a modern winery and called the domaine "Les Valentines" after their children, Valentin and Clémentine. Château les Valentines now covers approximately 100 acres. The "Le Caprice de Clémentine" is part of the second range of wines coming from the estate. Moderately priced, it is a high quality Côtes de Provence ma...

93 points Wine Advocate: "Aromas of tonka beans, spices, vanilla, grapefruit, red berries, iodine and spring flowers preface the 2022 Cotes de Provence Rose Cuvee Speciale des Vignettes from Clos Cibonne, a rosé from Provence crafted with a dominant proportion of Tibouren. Medium to full-bodied, round and sappy, it’s well structured with a phenolic, gastronomic bitterness, a fleshy core of fruit and a long, penetrating, iodine-tinged finish. (YC)" (07/2024) 93 points Wine Spectator: "Vibrant copper-hued and truly distinctive, this burly rosé leads with...

Named for the family's second-generation winemaker, Cécile Chassagne took over the vineyard in Gigondas that had been originally planted by her father in 1974. This blend of Grenache, Mourvedre, and Syrah is made in a traditional method without destemming. A long fermentation in open-topped wood tanks is followed by aging the wine for four months in large Allier oak casks. The resulting wine is a medium-bodied, meaty, and elegant expression of Gigondas terroir.

The Vacheron vineyards are all close to the village of Sancerre itself and have been in the family for 9 generations. Today, this domaine is run by two cousins, the Messieurs Vacheron. Both have sons studying viticulture to carry on the family tradition. The vineyards cover 34 hectares with two principal soil types; "silex" and "caillotte" or chalk. Organic viticulture has been a goal of the family for a number of years; as of 2003, the entire estate is certified organic. The following year the winery was converted completely to biodynamic agriculture-to...
