2023 Domaine Tempier Bandol Rosé
Top Pick!
According to Jeb Dunnuck, Domaine Tempier is "at the top of the hierarchy in terms of quality," and most know it for its flagship rosé. Like many southern French rosés, Domaine Tempier is both generous and refreshing, but what has set this label apart is its ability to age beautifully. Whether you're looking for a summertime sipper or a gem for the cellar, Domaine Tempier's rosé delivers on all accounts. Composed of 50% Mourvèdre and the balance Grenache and Cinsault, the vines average 20 years of age, planted in the clay-limestone soils.

Fermentation takes place in tank and the wine is aged on the skins for 30 days. The wine is then aged for 18 months in large oak foudre. The resulting wines are full and flavorful. When drunk young, the flavors of this wine are: Licorice, morello cherry and...

Bid on this 3-bottle tasting lot; including 2-bottles of 2017 Domaine Tempier "La Migoua" Bandol and 1-bottle of 2021 Domaine Tempier Bandol Rosé. Of the 2017 Domaine Tempier "La Migoua" Bandol, One of the crown jewels of Provence, Domaine Tempier produces world-class red, white and rosé wines from their organically farmed Bandol estate. From importer Kermit Lynch Wine Merchant writes: "When Lucie ‘Lulu’ Tempier married Lucien Peyraud in 1936, her father gave them Domaine Tempier, an active farm that had been in the family since 1834, near Le Plan du Castellet, just outside the Mediterranean seaport village of Bandol. By 1941, with the assistance of neighboring vignerons, Lucien worked with the I.N.A.O. (Institut National des Appellations d’Origines) to establish Bandol as its own A.O.C. Raising deep and structured wines of such refinement and longevity has made Domaine Tempier truly a grand cru de Provence."
