91-93 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "A pretty and relatively airy nose offers up notes of spicy anise-suffused tea, plum, dark cherry and a hint of raspberry. Like a number of wines in the range, the texture of the larger-scaled flavors is beguiling before culminating in a muscular and powerful if slightly raspy but not drying finish. This too is going to need extended cellaring as it's presently quite tightly wound." (04/2020) K&L Notes: 93-96 points Jasper Morris for Inside Burgundy: "Lovely clear even purple colour. There is a sensual class to t...

94 points Decanter: "A bold and spicy nose full of black pepper, black cherries and clove which combine to give a soft savoury and fruity expression. Such vivacity and life force on the palate, the wine just jumps out of the glass, mouthfilling but with a lightness of touch and soft chalky tannins. Touch of oak gives structure and elegance to the bright cherry and raspberry fruit. From a 1.4 hectare clay-limestone plot, 50% parcel was planted in 1979, the other half in 1987. The wine is aged on the lees for 16-18 months, of which 12 months are spent in o...

91-93 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "A markedly earthy nose features notes of very ripe dark currant, game and leather hints. Here too there is a lovely sense of energy and punch to the muscular but not really rustic broad-shouldered flavors that also possess very good if not sensational mid-palate concentration before culminating in a balanced and palate coating finish." (01/2014) 90 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Tasted blind at the annual "Burgfest" tasting in Beaune. The 2012 Corton Grand Cru Cuvee de Bourdon from Laurent Ponsot has a f...

93 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "As it usually is, this is at once more elegant and a bit more aromatically complex with its agreeably spicy mix of red and dark cherry, warm earth and floral top note. Here too there is excellent volume to the delicious medium weight flavors that possess both fine verve and minerality, both of which carry over to the balanced and beautifully persistent finale. This isn't as powerful as the Corton but it's notably finer. A qualitative choice. *Burghound Sweet Spot!*" (04/2021) 91-93 points Vinous: "The 2019 Corton-B...

93 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "Ripe and well-layered aromas of poached plum, earth and again, hints of the sauvage and leather introduce dense, powerful and impressively scaled flavors that possess a subtle bead of minerality that becomes more pronounced as the finish lingers on the palate. This isn't quite as concentrated as the Fournières but it's even more powerful and more structured as well. Patience absolutely necessary." (04/2021) 90-92 points Vinous: "The 2019 Corton Grand Cru comes from the lieu-dit of Les Combes, although that is not i...

Bid on this 3-bottle tasting lot; including 1-bottle of 2008 Domaine de Montille Corton Grand Cru "Clos du Roi" ((91-93BH), 93RP, 93ST), 1-bottle of 2009 Domaine de Montille Corton Grand Cru "Clos du Roi" ((92-94BH), (92-94ST), (90-93RP), (90-93VN)), and 1-bottle of 2010 Domaine de Montille Corton Grand Cru "Clos du Roi" ((93-95RP), (91-94ST), (91-93BH)). Of the 2010 Domaine de Montille Corton Grand Cru "Clos du Roi", Robert Parker's Wine Advocate writes: "The 2010 Corton Clos du Roi graces the palate with exquisite depth and sheer purity. Layers of seamless fruit emerge from this sublime, totally refined wine. De Montille used two-thirds whole clusters and 50% new oak barrels, but none of that stands out. It is the superb depth and purity of the fruit that elevates the Clos du Roi to its lofty position. This really leaves a strong lasting impression. (AG)" (02/2012)

Bid on this bottle of 1967 Louis Jadot Corton-Pougets Grand Cru. The Grand Cru vineyard of Les Pougets is comprised of two parcels covering 24 acres on the upper- and mid- slope directly adjacent to the Le Charlemagne climat. It is among the five vineyards of the commune in which the variegated soils, alternating between chalk and iron-rich marl, produce both Corton-Pougets and Corton-Charlemagne. Domaine des Héritiers Louis Jadot is proprietor of a superb, due southerly-exposed parcel of 3.71 acres purchased in 1914. This exceptional site yields a wine of sumptuous brilliance and complexity, powerfully structured and richly fruited. The aromatic Pinot Noir bouquet and deep, layered berry and oak flavors culminate in a seductive, persistent finish.
