Henri Le Roy is a first generation winemaker who began his original career as a Biologist in Paris. Falling in love with Burgundy he did not possess Burgundy money so he decided to look further east to the Jura where he saw similar potential but a little more affordable lands to begin his second career in wine. His first vintage was 2005, and he has continued to evolve and grow as a winemaker for the past decade plus. Henri prefers to make Ouille styled wines (topped off barrels) as opposed to the traditional oxidative or biological styled wines for h...

Established in 2005 by Henri Le Roy in the Côtes du Jura, Domaine de l'Aigle À Deux Têtes focuses on producing terroir-driven wines from local varietals. The 'Le Clous' is made from 100% Savagnin, known in his sub-region as Naturé. Savagnin is in the Traminer family of grape varieties, a close cousin of Gewurztraminer, though Savagnin is much more citrus driven with high acitiy and a mineral focused palate. The wine is barrel-fermented to bring richness and texture to the grapefruit-centered citrus flavors, while a hint of tropical papaya plays a beauti...

Nestled in the village of Verdigny, Domain Tabordet is run by brothers Yvon and Pascal Tabordet, who took the reins back in 1981. When the two brothers first took over the estate it consisted of three hectares (7.4 acres) in Sancerre. By 1988 they had added another 4.5 hectares of Sancerre and another 12 hectares (29.7 acres) in neighboring Pouilly-Fumé, just across the Loire River. Wine growing in Pouilly-Fumé dates back to the fifth century when the Romans dominated the area. In 1937 it became an official Appellation d’Origine Contrôlée (AOC) of France...

92 points Wine Enthusiast: "Named after the confluence of the Sèvre and Maine rivers, this wine has ripe pepper and crisp fruit characters. Lemon and tangy orange flavors are enhanced by the strong mineral texture. The wine is a little young and will be better from late 2019. (RV)" (10/2019)

James Suckling: "A very charming, medium-bodied dry Muscat with a light touch and moderate acidity, this is easy to enjoy. Enough acidity, in spite of the very warm vintage, but pleasing rather than stunning. From organically grown grapes. " (11/2020)

92 points James Suckling: "Aromas of honeysuckle, nectarine, crushed stones and toasted hazelnut. Hint of white pepper. It’s full-bodied and creamy with crisp acidity. Dense and concentrated with a toasty, flinty finish. From organically grown grapes. Drink or hold." 92 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2018 Chardonnay bursts from the glass with intense scents of white peaches, lemon curd, fresh grapefruit and lime blossoms with hints of sea spray and toasted almonds. The medium-bodied palate is wonderfully crisp and intense, with bags of citru...

92 points John Gilman: "The 2018 Alesia Chardonnay from Rhys is really lovely, coming in clocked at a cool 12.8% octane and offering up a vibrant and generous bouquet of apple, casaba melon, white lilies, a fine base of gently salty soil tones and a discreet foundation of vanillin oak. On the palate the wine is bright, full-bodied, focused and beautifully proportioned, with a fine core, lovely soil undertow, zesty acids and excellent balance and grip on the long, complex and very refined finish. This strikes me as fine as any example of Alesia Chardonnay...

93 points James Suckling: "Lots of spices and dried mango and apple on the nose and palate with hints of cream and vanilla. It’s full-bodied with lovely flavors and a long, delicious finish. White Burgundy sensibility to this, from the barrel usage in the winemaking process. Drink or hold." (08/2020)

93 points Connoisseurs Guide: "Grgich Hills Fumé Blancs are always emphatically grassy and this one goes right to the limits, but its ongoing herbaceousness is tempered by deep and continuous fruit, and the combination here is striking. The wine is at once lively and moderately full-bodied with the structure to keep and grow for a good many years, and, when all is said and done, this latest edition is as long on value as it is on character and complexity. *Two Stars & Good Value*" (08/2020)
Price: $26.95

94 points James Suckling: "This has a very intense nose with plenty of stone-fruit aromas. The depth and fleshy appeal here are really striking; there’s a wealth of peaches and nectarines. Quite fleshy and powerful, long and juicy. Some gently smoky, flinty edges on the finish. Drink or hold. Screw cap." (09/2019) 94 points Wine Enthusiast: "Funky reduction for now is all that can be detected on the nose—but that is not a bad sign. The palate brings a wealth of notions that somehow unite wet earth, dry hay, Mirabelle plum and miso. The body is balanced...

Kristian Keber is one of the rising stars of Slovenia and the son of Edi Keber who is one of Collio's icons. This Slovenian property is just a stones throw from the Italian border. Kristian's white is a blend of 50% Ribolla Gialla, 40% Friulano and 10% Malvasia Istriana. The wine sees 12 days maceration on skins giving it that wonderfully taut but not overwhelming "orange" profile. It is fermented in cement vats using indigenous yeasts and then aged for 2 years in large oak casks with 6 months more bottle age before release. *Orange Wine* *Natural Wine*

93 points Wine Enthusiast: "Citrus pith, light yogurt, soft nectarine and crisp jicama aromas arise on the very subtle nose of this bottling. The palate's texture is anything but subtle, though, gripping with wet chalk tension and flavors, as well as tightly wound flashes of lime and more of that dairy tartness. (MK)" (09/2021)

93 points Jeb Dunnuck: "A blend of equal parts Marsanne and Roussanne, the medium gold-hued 2018 Saint Joseph Les Oliviers Blanc offers up a ripe, powerful bouquet of honeyed stone fruits, tangerine peel, mint, and exotic flowers. It packs plenty of fruit on the palate as well as texture, yet it stays beautifully balanced. It's going to shine on the dinner table, and while I'd lean toward drinking bottles over the coming 4-5 years, I suspect it will keep for quite a bit longer." (12/2019) 93 points Vinous: "A complex bouquet evokes ripe citrus and orch...

92 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "From a terraced vineyard with 30- to 60-year-old vines on Kimmeridgian marl (shell limestone) soils and vinified for 18 months in concrete vats, the 2018 Pouilly Fumé Prédilection is coolish, pure, precise and flinty on the ascetic but deep, intense and elegant nose that displays some delicate herbal aromas such as oregano and thyme. Clear and fresh, with good grip and tension as well as clear Sauvignon aromas on the aftertaste, this is an excellent Pouilly to be enjoyed now and over the next 6-10 years. (SR) 92+...

93 points Wine Enthusiast: "This dramatic wine offers a tantalizing bread-dough aroma that leads to bold flavors of toasted oak, baked apple, nutmeg and butter. Medium in body, it's wrapped in a smooth texture that also retains a tang of crisp acidity for good balance. (JG)" (07/2021) K&L Notes: A sleeper deal in California Chardonnay. This exceptional value bottling is entirely estate grown and produced from Roederer's extensive vineyards in Anderson Valley. Made with organic / biodynamic by a world-class winemaking team...it's almost unbelievable to ...

When Jean Noel Millon took over winemaking and farming at his family's estate in 1998, he represented the seventh generation to do so. The 10-hectare farm is certified organic and Millon complements the soil with herbal teas and homemade composts to strengthen the vines' natural defenses.

95 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2018 Chardonnay Belle de Jour Duvarita Vineyard, from biodynamically farmed grapes, is reminiscent of a grand cru Chablis, opening with tones of crushed shell and saline with aromas of lemon pith, hazelnuts and white blossoms. The palate is precise and pure with savory undertones and a long, lifted finish. 95 cases were made. (EB)" (10/2020)

A bone dry Riesling from the maestro, Ryan Stirm. This wine hails from arguably the most famed and sought after plot of Riesling in the USA - Pat Wirz's old vine planting from 1964. These vines are grown organically and dry-farmed. The roots reach down deep into the limestone-granite mix. Essentially a natural wine, this bottlingfrom Stirm sees no additions except a very small (26g/L) of sulfur. It's racy, fragrant, full of crstaline acidity and wet stone mineral. 92 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "From Kimmeridgian marls and silex soils, the 2018 Pouilly Fumé Eurythmie was vinified in 500- and 228-liter barrels for 18 months and displays a golden-yellow color and an intense, slightly flinty nose. On the palate, this is a rich, intense, quite powerful yet also elegant, grippy and salty Pouilly with a certain salinity on the still slightly oaky, sweet and bitter finish. It is beautifully pure, fresh and aromatic on the finish. (SR) 92+" (03/2021) 90 points Vinous: "The 2018 Pouilly-Fumé Eurythmie is an oak...

95 points Jeb Dunnuck: "Playing with the top wines in the appellation, the 2018 Hermitage Le Reverdy Blanc comes from the Les Beaumes and Le Méal lieux-dits and is equal parts Marsanne and Roussanne aged in 30% new French oak. It needs air to show at its best yet has powerful notes of honeyed quince and stone fruits intermixed with more exotic citrus, tangerine, and flower oil nuances. It has bright acidity, a rocking level of concentration, terrific balance, and subtle, integrated oak. It’s going to benefit from a year or two of bottle age and cruise fo...

Château Revelette is an organically-certified, 30 hectare estate run by German transplant Peter Fisher in the Coteaux d’Aix-en-Provence AOC. Grapes are hand-harvested and vinified in their traditional but modernly equipped cellar. Peter's pride and joy are his Tete de Cuvee wines "Le Grand Blanc" and "Le Grand Rouge." Both are actually declassified in the region, since they do not follow the traditional blends of Coteaux d'Aix. Le Grand Rouge is predominantly Syrah with Cabernet Sauvignon, Carignan, Grenache and Pinot Noir finishing the blend. It is ...

Nerantzi is one of the last repositories of the heirloom grape variety known as Asprouda of Serres. Vigneron Eva Mitropoulos works with this near extinct varietal creating one of the most fascinating and engaging whites in Macedonia. A small amount of barrel aging compliments the lightly pithy citrus notes of the variety. Beautiful stuff!

This wine hovers somewhere between a rosé and an orange wine. The Pinot Gris is given some extended skin contact and the coppery, orange-pink hue is obtained. The wine is then fermented in a mix of amphorae and neutral oak. It's a little more textured and complex than your average rosé, yet a little less oxidative and funky than your average orange wine...for me it's right in the sweet spot, a thoroughly delicious and enthralling wine. 95 points James Suckling: "Impressive aromas of flint and chalk here with a floral edge, as well as sliced cucumber and pears. The palate has a very crisp, restrained and detailed feel with apples, pears and stones. Pastry and nutmeg to close. From biodynamically grown grapes." (09/2019) 95 points Wine Enthusiast: "Slightly flinty reduction and subtle tangerine vie for attention on the nose. The palate, on the other hand, has decided to put the full force of concentrated, pure fruit center stage. There is intensity and ripeness, countered by aromatic, ...

(09/2019) 92 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Hirsch's 2018 Grüner Veltliner Ried Renner 1ÖTW is still somewhat reductive but deep, fresh and complex on the crystalline and also aromatic nose. 91 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "From 25- to 50-year-old vines on stony Portlandian marl soils in a south- to southwest-facing vineyard in Les Champs de Cris, the 2018 Pouilly Fumé Aubaine opens with a pure, fresh, floral and smoky bouquet of crushed stones and delicate fruit. Intense, vital and salty on the palate, with persistent grip and lingering salinity, this is a fascinatingly elegant, round and finessed Pouilly with a long, intense and floral finish. The 2018 is quite powerful but already drinks pretty well. (SR) 91+" (03/2021) 90-91 p...
